HealthRe: Please Advise: I Am A Hiv Patient. by ChelseaDr(m): 9:17pm On May 05, 2016
Op, HIV screening takes between 10 and 20 minutes to be ready so l don't know where you went for the test. Again l don't know why you went for the test (may be just to know your status, which is very good).

I will suggest you go to another hospital see a doctor, tell him/her you want to know your HIV status, they will counsel you and send you for the test and then discuss the result and its implications with you before you go that same day.

Meanwhile like Yabaleftist said being positive is not the end of life it only means finding a new way to do things. l wish you da BEST!!!

That is better! It will stop them from killing people in the hospital and delivering all pregnant women through Cesarean Section Operation
God will protect them.
l'm sure you didn't mean to type what you just did. Doctors don't kill people, doctors are not terrorists.

Caesarean section is a life-saving surgical procedure done for justifiable indications (except where quacks are involved). It is usually the last resort where the lives of both the mother and her baby are in danger.

meanwhile l hope they will provide the materials for them to work with.

Fadelex:
firstly, I sympathize with the families of the lost souls, may God almighty comfort them in this hard time.
I can see everybody descending on the police, you people couldn't even verify the story before crucifying them. I bet most of you abusing the police are the same set of people that crashed their recruitment website. The doctor insisted the accident wasn't caused by overspeeding, can he tell us what caused it? I ply this road every week and I'm telling you accident can only occur there due to overspeeding as it is a dualized road from abuja to kano.
Lastly, when we say the country is in total mess, the doctor dont get it I guessed. the same way doctors dont attend to emergency situations unless deposit are made is the samr way police treated them. the police might not have fuel in their vehicle, so was the doc expecting preferential treatment? all sectors need to be sanitized before we can attain greatness.

Chronic PID is not what any lady would wish to have, it has far-reaching consequences especially as it affects fertility.

It is not something that is treated on the pages of Nairaland forum, it is something that should be taken very seriously and to think that you were even taking herbal concoctions shows that you have been with the wrong people.

l don't know where you stay but you should go to a good hospital, if possible a teaching hospital to get a better care. You must also be patient and compliant with the investigations and medications. It is not something you will take drugs and symptoms will disappear and you too will default from going for check up.

A word, they say, is enough for the wise

hmmmm ...Op sha

Your mind bad small sha... wetin carry you go pharmacy shop wey make you forget your message, you go de put eye for another man something** they may be husband and wife who had some health issues and you concluded they went for an abortion.. hmmm nawaaoo

Abortion is the loss or termination of pregnancy before 28 weeks (7months) in our part of the world. It can be done for some good reasons when the woman's life is in danger otherwise it is criminal oo. Abortion is illegal in Nigeria

Using condom during sexual intercourse is not the same as committing abortion. A lot of theories exist as to when life actually begins.

Some say life begins at fertilization others say it is at implantation.

The Catholic Church (with due respect) believes that life begins at fertilization and that is why they STRONGLY advocate that during IVF treatment all fertilized embryos MUST be transfered in other words, the doctor should only fertilize the number of eggs he will use, none should be lost, life is sacred. It is an ethical issue.

l'm just trying to make some common sense sha

Op in as much as l admire your courage to put up this piece, l also think you are just trying to advertise yourself which shouldn't be. l'm neither an engineer nor an architect but l think it is against the code of engineering ethics to start advertising ones work or capabilities .lt is only quacks that do that.

Architects are wonderful people who dwell in the realm of the impossible, they believe that all things are possible and it can only take an engineer who also believes in doing the impossible to achieve such. Architects are great people and l admire them may be because l also love drawing and designs.

There are quacks everywhere it is even worse in the medical profession. Op l think it is overstepping your limits to try to correct what an Architect has done, it should be a team work not a show of superiority.

HealthRe: Fibriods by ChelseaDr(m): 10:16pm On Apr 09, 2016
It is possible! Fibroid is found in ladies who are within their reproductive age group. Any lady who has reached puberty age and is not in her menopausal age may be diagnosed with fibroid.

It is a hormones -dependent tumour although commoner between 30 and 39 years but can occur before age 30. It can run in families and also commoner among those who delay child bearing, and those who saw their menses very early (may be before 12 years)

Op l'm sure you know that that word "Ebola" is such that should be taken very seriously...sure you know the implication because your post is more of a joke rather than something that should be taken serious.

The cases of both Ebola and Lassa were all confirmed today? please be serious.

That the Governor said it shouldn't be published? I have my doubts.

However if the post is anything to go by, l think the authorities concerned should avert a calamity from happening.
HealthRe: My Brother Needs Your Help Please :( by ChelseaDr(m): 9:22pm On Apr 03, 2016
Walexz02:
Good day to you all good people of Nairaland.
Last year I created a topic making enquiries on the illness of my brother who was brought to UCH Ibadan from lagos state.
He had an accident which resulted in leg fracture which he was managing untill September last year when he lost control to both of his lower limbs.

https://www.nairaland.com/2626954/doctor-should-oplease-us

At UCH ibadan doctors said he had chronic oesteomaleitis and upon doing further tests they said he had tubaclosis of the spine .
They commenced treatment and started giving him "anti cough" which they said would yield positive results upon taking it for 3-4months .
At some point they suggested that we should raise money for surgery if we want him to recover quickly. We raised 300,000naira.
Just a week after we raised the money they asked us to do MRI test which we did (it cost 75k) we did other tests too which gulp up almost all the money we have then.

4 weeks After these tests, they asked us to repeat MRI but we don't have the money, our consultant suggest that we should do ultrasound which is cheaper than MRI. We did it and after the test they said he may not be needing surgery again that he shoud continue taking the "anti cough".

He has multiple bed sours on his back and both hips which we have been managing few weeks after he was admitted into the hospital.
We have been in UCH ibadan since October Last year my good people, and bed fee is 1000/day.

Early last month when our consultant came he said we should bring money for surgery (to check what is going on in his back ) since he has used "anti cough" for more than 4months with out much significant result.

Two weeks later when our consultant came he asked that we be discharged from the hospital since we couldn't raise money for surgery. The bed sours are still there which we can not manage at home ourselves.

Please good people of Nairaland my brother needs your help, my family needs your help. Please come to our aid, we need 350,000naiara to perform this surgery. And we have only raised 120,000

& do u have any fact 2 back up ur (bold) claim?

Dis is serious... I like d niece's courage
Ok l can now understand what happened. Thanks for the details. But l still think the relatives were not adequately counselled and convinced that the babies were dead already. A bedside ultrasound scan with the relatives present and being shown absent cardiac activity on both foetuses would have been enough conviction and would have averted opening the woman up in the full gaze of the public; except if they decided to go ahead with it.

CrimeRe: Man Steals Formula To Feed His Baby, Gets Jailed In Kirikiri by ChelseaDr(op): 4:26pm On Apr 01, 2016
I'm just concerned about the baby and her mother. Lactation may not have been well established which pushed the man to go do wrong. What he did was wrong and deserves to be punished for it.

A man who cannot afford #2000 for infant formula where will he get 50k?

l didn't know our judicial system could be this "effective".

We should all work hard to be free from the shackles of poverty.
CrimeMan Steals Formula To Feed His Baby, Gets Jailed In Kirikiri by ChelseaDr(op): 5:34am On Apr 01, 2016
Policemen attached to Igando division in Lagos have arrested a man who allegedly stole an infant formula worth N45,000 in a supermarket.

The 28-year-old suspect, Nurudeen Sulaimon, allegedly stole the formula to feed his crying new born baby.

There were different accounts on the circumstance that led to the act. A version said his wife was delivered of a baby last week Saturday, but had difficulty in breast feeding the baby, as her breasts were not bringing out milk. Though the baby was reportedly given water to drink but he kept crying, apparently yearning for milk that could sustain him.

Another version had it that the angry nursing mother, who was discharged the following day from hospital, had a verbal confrontation with her husband over his inability to provide milk for their baby.

Nurudeen
Irked by the humiliation, Sulamon, according to report, charged out of his apartment on Easter Monday, with a promise to get the infant formula. He was said to have gone to a supermarket on Oduso close where he allegedly stole some tins of SMS Gold infant formula, unknown to him that he was being viewed from the Close Circuit Television installed in the supermarket.

Consequently, he was accosted on his way out of the supermarket by the private security men and handed over to policemen at Igando police station from where he was charged to court.

At the station, he reportedly pleaded passionately to be forgiven, blaming his indulgence on poverty, adding that he resorted to stealing because he could not withstand the cry of his new born baby for food.

At the court, he pleaded not guilty. The presiding Magistrate, Mr A. A. Fashola granted Sulamon bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.

He was remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri pending when he will perfect his bail, while the case was adjourned till April 27.

Op, to say that Afikpo is 80% Muslims is like saying that Osuofia is a Hausa man simply because you saw him in Kannywood, that is a fallacious statement and should not be taken seriously.

There is an lslamic school in ENOHIA ITIM, which is just one of the small towns in Ehugbo (Afikpo) and a sizeable number of people there attend the school and are Muslims but even there, that number is not up to 80%. Outside there many people dont even know about the school not untill when they pass through there.

Everyone has the right to worship whatever god or God they so desire but Afikpo is NOT 80% Muslims.

Get your facts right!!

The lady that did the peripartum caesarean section deserves an international recognition.... That hospital deserves to be closed down ASAP. Of what benefit is the hospital's existence if it will take a lay person (the niece) to recognize a dire emergency and acted accordingly and the so called health workers were busy doing god-knows-what.

If there was a doctor there his/her licence should be confiscated for life because he is a killer. He should have gone out of his way to save the lives of those twins. Every patient deserves 24 hours of free service in emergency situations.... Do we still have a conscience?

No wonder Trump calls us (Africans) names.
