You know, the unexplained total absence of the usual Bini monikers who besieged Western Igbo threads like Bokohalal, Ezotik, Lordbolton and the emergence of this your Cire80 moniker claiming Anioma is not lost on anyone here. The witch cries in the night and the child dies in the morning, coincidence? I don't think so.
Anyway, Agbontae got murdered on that page, he started off speaking for Anioma, Osita cut him to size, he started claiming that he speaks for only Ika, Osita again cornered him and he started saying that he doesn't care about Ika, that he cared only about Owa, and again Osita cornered him and reminded him of Obi of Owa book where he re emphasized the Nri origin of his ancestors and Agbontae was left throwing shades up and down on Igbodo and Ute Okpu plus other Ika communities, tagging them Aniocha towns in bid to get at Osita who is a native of Igbodo.
You know someone had lost an argument when they leave issues of discuss and focus on ad hominem attacks.

OP...I seriously understand your plight and to be frank, its true that people view Ishan and Isoko as Igbos.. And these tribes subconsciously reinforce that image by adopting Igbo names and mannerisms but I assure you that my people know where our border lies. Even if it comes to that, we might guarantee the integrity of the Oba's territories and ensure that no matter what happens, the Bini, Isha, Sobo, Jekri and the Kukuruku tribes remain under the sovereignty of the Oba. There's no cause for alarm |

PabloAfricanus: I sort of disagree with the settling part, a lot of unrelated groups and tribes were inadvertently carved into "states" when the military boys were doing their thing. The Igbankes and Ekpons are good examples. They did not MIGRATE nor SETTLE into where they now live, they have always been there. If history is anything to go by, it was the Bini empire that expanded into and settled into most of the area they now claim as territory.
However, your corrections of very popular historical views among the Aniomas would have been a small thing if it was a completely Anioma phenomenon. You need to listen to the Onichas, Ogutas and Ogbarus who have taken Bini cultural influence to another level of interpretation. How these people managed to convince themselves they are descendants of next door Bini is the most hilarious tripe I've heard in a long time. I won't even bother with the Ikwerres and their Akalaka was a Bini prince lullaby. Kudos to the Bini's for not flipping and taking all these bogus claims and counter claims to Bini origin calmly and without giving any room for rancour or outrage. Now that is class and royalty. The Igbos I know would have turned the whole affair into a free for all rofo rofo mudslinging fight Hahahahahahahahahahaaa |

Cire80: you're not being honest here. You're completely biased. Words can easily be borrowed but accent is more difficult to change. We're Ika people, we speak Igbo with an Ika accent and inflections which is Edoid, same way we would speak any other languages with Ika accent.
[s] It's never possible for a migrating group coming to Ika area to influence the way we pronounce words. They can only introduce new words but the new words will be pronounced in the accent of the aboriginal language. If Edos were the latter migrators and settlers, we would only be having many Edo words which would be pronounced in Igbo accent but the reverse is the case here. We have Edo words pronounced with Edo accent and many Igbo words also mostly pronounced with Edo inflections. Which shows Edo language is the original language here.[/s] Which Edo language All these Bini settlers self Edo is the name of a family of similar languages... Bini, Ishan, Kukuruku, Sobo(urhobo/isoko) and Jekri. And ika is surrounded on three sides by Edo languages... So its expected that they'd borrow, but to claim that ika was originally Edo just bkos it provided succor to your ancestors fleeing the Oba's madness is just insane. |

OreMI22: The exact strategy of the Fulani hardliners under Buhari is to create such conditions to make Igbos declare Biafra prematurely and then they can use the opportunity to cut them to size using Nigerian army. How vain and hollow they reason. In any case, even if Biafra is declared a second time, it will be impossible to conclude it on the terms of the first encounter, but that is discussion for another day.
Igbos should resist attempt to declare Biafra or at least not to declare prematurely. If IPOB wanted, it could adopt the ANC strategy of training guerillas somewhere and they come in for special missions. I would hope Nigeria stops toying with fire in the hope they can burn their own house and come out unscathed. Exactly!!! This is what I always tell them on RBL Facebook page...that they should start training guerrillas or in short form a military wing just like Hiżballa or Hamas has. The widespread knowledge that an organization like IPOB has a military wing would make the Nigerian army more hesitant to kill IPOB protesters. |

malton: [s]Make an Igbo man the head of any security agency and watch him attempt to move its headquarters to Enugu.
During Jona's regime, a certain aviation minister alongside the then head of school of aviation, also Igbo, made desperate attempts to move the NCAA from Zaria to Enugu. It took the intervention of numerous northern elites to halt the move.
When Dora was made information minister, she also made attempts to move the National Film Institute from Jos to Enugu. The indigenes had to protest to have the decision rescinded.
People are suspicious of the Igbo man for justifiable reasons; he sees everyone else as undeserving of anything.
