see the boldede Adarabi: Good day everyone I stumbled across the thread please welcome me. I’m in the process of filing my DS 160 and I have a question
Is it fine for to use business a business account as SOA ANS NO
I work for my mums business and the business is sponsoring my VISA
I have also been granted a scholarship of 8k…I20 as been issued before the scholarship happened so it’s not reflecting, do I need to contact my enrollment officer about making the scholarship reflect on my I20 or should I carry on with my interview without it. ANS YES MAKE IT REFLECT IN YOUR I20 IF YOU CAN IF NOT THEN CARRY THE LETTER THAT STATES IT ALONG TO YOUR INTERVIEW
Lastly there are 2 spots on the I20 about Jobs
The first one says primary occupation The second say employment for the last 5 years
ANS BE SURE TO PUT IN SOMETHING THAT IS RELATED TO YOUR PROPOSED COURSE OF STUDY THERE
Are my supposed to tell about Job status in both cases. ANS YES Thanks. |

I can be transferred to state secretariat or federal and I will start my political ambition by joining political party. Vo : type and type and type like 5min self and eventually she said you aren’t qualified for this and brought out the blue pepper.
Please ooo what did you guys suggest for me to do I can still defer my admission to spring so I can get funds but with This three transcript what did you see so I can work on or I should go to complete my hnd and apply for Masters? Thanks so much See all the bolded "I intend" and "I can" means you are not sure yet. Your brother in real estate shows he has no liquid funds and we all know how long it takes to sell a property, especially in ABK The property points of Nigeria are Lagos, Abj, and PHC even at that you would not even sell it off with the snap of a finger. it tells them that you might be stranded at some point and would have to look for other means to survive. "Politician" is not a profession. |

Using the school address is the best I used my school address throughout. As per staying with friend, why not rent accommodation from home after you have gotten your visa, its better you go close to school and start getting used to your routine trust me going with kids is not easy ( I am here with 2 kids) you can PM me if you need any heads up on how to get settled with kids as in daycare etc. ireneayeni: Congratulations sir, Please I will like to find out if you used the School Address as where you will be staying. I dont know if this is true but someone told me that If an individual uses an address asides that of the school and the contact info stated on the I-20, Visa Approval is not guaranteed. Please all gurus in the house @Moshkom, @Chibertha, @UmmZayd @justwise how true is this? I will be going with my two kids and I intend staying with my family freiend for a month Pending. the time I get accomodation close to my school(Georgia Southern University). I will really appreciate your response as I already filled the address of my Family friend however I want to know if there is a need to change it Asap befor my interview next week. Thank you. |

congratulations, you nailed it with the bolded points murtalaa: Good day all. In keeping with the spirit of this thread, I share my visa interview experience below. Waited for 60 days to resumption of my program and applied for EA. Approved within 3 days,
Arrived 7 am even though my appointment was for 8:30 am. No body paid any attention to this discrepancy and we were gingerly ushered in. After all the checks, it was time to face the visa officer, a Caucasian female. Biometrics done.
Program: Masters Center: Abuja
V.O: Where do you work? ME: I work with ---- (Federal Government Regulatory Institution) V.O: Who is funding your study? ME: I received $17k no strings attached scholarship which comes as a tuition fee reduction. I will be funding the balance my self V.O: What would you be doing when you complete your studies? ME: I intend to do a lateral career switch from my present role in Information Technology to Bleep within the same organisation. This program will enable me build competency to be able to function as a... (stated the role here). V.O: Do you have a guaranteed job with this agency after your studies? ME: Most definitely, I have been working here continuously for nine years, so I am qualified for study leave per the organisation's policy. V.O: Are you married? ME: Yes maam V.O: Children? ME: Yes, 2 kids, boys, 3 and 6 V.O: Is your wife working? ME: Yes V.O: Where? Me: She is working as a medical doctor with a a university teaching hospital V.O: Would you be going with your family? ME: No (Here the V.O started typing furiously for quite a while and I started wondering if I have overreached my self and closed any avenue for my family ever joining me. An idea came to me, so I cleared my throat to get her attention. She ignore me and continued typing) ME: Although two years is such a long time for one to be away from family, I foresee a situation where they could come for a short stay, during children's school break and when my wife is able to secure her annual leave with her employer. (The V.O stopped typing, looked at me briefly, nodded and smiled and resumed typing) V.O: Everything is in order and I would be approving your visa. (She reached for the white paper and handed it to me)
Hope this helps. Thanks peeps. See you at uncle Sam's. Oh Philly here I come! |

What does a visa denial under INA section 214(b) mean? This law applies only to nonimmigrant visa categories. If you are refused a visa under section 214(b), it means that you: Did not sufficiently demonstrate to the consular officer that you qualify for the nonimmigrant visa category you applied for; and/or Did not overcome the presumption of immigrant intent, required by law, by sufficiently demonstrating that you have strong ties to your home country that will compel you to leave the United States at the end of your temporary stay. (H-1B and L visa applicants, along with their spouse and any minor children, are excluded from this requirement.) What are considered strong ties to my home country? Ties are the various aspects of your life that bind you to your home country. Strong ties vary from country to country, city to city, and person to person, but examples include: Your job; Your home; and/or Your relationships with family and friends. While conducting visa interviews, consular officers look at each application individually and consider the applicant's circumstances, travel plans, financial resources, and ties outside of the United States that will ensure the applicant’s departure after a temporary visit. Is a refusal under section 214(b) permanent? No. A refusal, or ineligibility, under section 214(b) is for that specific application, so once a case is closed, the consular section cannot take any further action. There is no appeal process. If you feel there is additional information that should be considered related to the visa decision, or there are significant changes in your circumstances since your last application, you may reapply for a visa. To reapply, you must complete a new application form, pay the application fee, and schedule an appointment for a new interview. Review the website of the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where you plan to reapply to learn about any reapplication procedures. beejhay69: I was denied under section 214b. |

moses3: GoodMorning I had an interview on the 25th of may 2022 COA $35k Fees: $35k On my I-20 my sponsor was written as $35k they didn't state who he is to me.
VO: please pass your passport and I-20 Me: here is it. GoodMorning VO: GoodMorning why where you going Me: to study masters in Biz admin and mgt at the unvi of ... VO: why masters Me: I just felt it time to upgrade my skills as a professional. I have projects at hand that is to be handle professionally I need to be versed in my managerial skills to be able to handle such project. VO: where do you work? Me: I work in a law firm as the HR Manager VO: typed for a while and screwed up her mouse. Then Shaked her head. Who is your sponsor? Me: He is an associate at the firm I work for and also a family solicitors VO: you say what? Me: He is my family solicitors VO: brought out blue paper and passport was returned to me
I was denied.
Now I have contacted the school for a correction on my I-20. 1. The figure write was wrong. Guess I wasn't calculated well. That has been rectified now 2. I still returned my sponsor as it was the account statement I used in acquiring my I-20. It's a corporate account. I asked them to change where the sponsor is written as $35k to the company name on the account 3. The idea of all this is because I don't intend changing too many things so it doesn't like suspicious.
Please house and professional advisers please I need you to help me look into this and give me the best solution as I am about to re-applying check the bolded change family solicitor to Friend Using a company as your sponsor means you have to get the following documents to back it up Letter from a company stating why they would be sponsoring you if you claim to work with them you would have to go with appointment letter paystubs fo 6 months application letter written by you to company for study leave reply from HR that it has been accepted and terms and conditions stated your personal account statement showing the figures in your paystub You need to carry all these in case you are asked |

The bolded is the issue it simply means you are going to resign before leaving and we all know what the labor market looks like in Nigeria. Try this;- I have been granted study leave from work, on return, and be better positioned to take up a higher position when the opening comes. Just play around with that. The trick is sound very convincing and believable. Samongo: First Interview COA: 29k No funding MSc Construction Management
VO: I can see you are going for a Master degree in Construction Management at BGSU. Me: Yes that's correct VO: what do you do currently? Me: i work as a Quantity Surveyor at ** construction company VO: who is sponsoring? Me: My cousin VO: What is your plan after study? Me: I intend to see reabsorption back into where I'm working currently as a Quantity Surveyor and will be promoted to the post of a construction Manager. VO Cuts in and bam denied VO: sorry you are not eligibleat this time, you can reapply some other time.
Second interview: COA: 24k Scholarship: 4k Different school MSC Project Management
Visa officer was a lady, early or mid 30s Me: Good morning VO: Morning VO: Have you travelled before Me: No I have not, I have been focused on my academics and building a career. VO: Biometrics VO: Are you working? Me: Yes, I work as a *** at *** company in Lagos and went ahead to describe some of my duties. VO: who will be sponsoring? Me: I got a partial tuition waiver and the deficit will be sponsored by my Father who is **** VO: what is your plan after study? Me: upon completion, I will be returning back to Nigeria where I'm hoping to be reabsorbed back into where I'm working currently as a Quantity Surveyor and will be promoted to the post of a Construction Manager.
