Goal, Echejile |
that was close |
Game on |
@ honeric01 and @semid4lyfe fu ck you two for messing up my evening. You guys feel like little dictators banning people for no just reason. Someone requested for a link to watch the game online and I provided a working link and you guys chose to hide the post and ban me from contributing while the game lasted. You guys are jerks! and I demand a public apology from you guys |
There is no urgency in our game so far. They should strike now before the Ethiopians start becoming ambitious |
We've had Algerian, and he performed poorly, then they brought on the Egyptian and he gave a questionable penalty call against us and today we have a Moroccan. Let's hope he's more professional than his North African compadre |
Brand_new: Indians/Pakistani's are really going hard at ICT. We Nigerians have a very long way to go.You blame the parents. An average Nigerian parent would probably prefer to buy one or more cars before (if at all they do consider it) thinking of owning a computer. And when they do purchase one, the kids are forbidden to use it. In most of these countries, parents buy their kids computers at a very young age and they grow up exploring its functionalities. How many Nigerian Students (at all levels) own their own computer? But most would likely have phones that cost as much as a scaled down computer |
great goal from Emenike |
why is Keshi wearing a bib? |
Goal Ethiopia in the 64th Minute |
DheBuck: Such a shame NTA is showing one rubbish related to the American Inauguration.I don't blame them, the right holders are demanding 8m Euros before the games could be televised live in Nigeria. And the signals are coming already branded with Orange Telecommunication logo. Knowing that the Telecom companies in Nigeria are the major sponsors of sport events in Nigeria, no one would blame them for not paying up |
Ethiopia down to 10 men yet not playing badly - oh my bad, Zambia just scored |
I think the Ethiopian Goalkeeper will definitely be red carded |
And Zambia almost scored in direct play resulting from the missed penalty. 26 Minutes gone. Ethiopia have had 2 clear chances |
He missed that penalty! Oh Ethiopia |
These Ethiopians are giving the Zambian Team a run for their money. But the pitch is something else. Almost like Sand Football. Penalty for Ethiopia |
Gbawe: Mumu. See how you fools have now all disgraced yourself and exposed how you are driven by nothing other than clannish sentiments and a hateful mien you are not willing to admit to here? Olodo. I knew it was not going to be long before unintelligent and ignorant hacks like you and the OP end up appearing extremely dull. Do you even know what 'special duties' cover?@Gbawe, sorry to barge in on your exchange with the people you've been engaging. The 6.5 Billion Naira under special duties was captured under the office of the Chief of Staff and different from the budget allocation to the Ministry of Special Duties. Learn to separate issues accordingly. Under all the ministries and head of agencies, there's always budget allocation for special duties. My observation in the budgetary allocation of state governments (Lagos is no exception) is that so much monies are allocated to vaguely defined subjects, giving room for the boys there to do whatever they wish with the funds |
Actually the Lagos State Government, just like any other State Government, do spend huge amount of money on entertainment/food. Most are captured under different headings in their budgets, depending on the agency or directorate one is looking at. Unfortunately, I couldn't find details of the 2013 Budget, but going by those of the 2012 Budget found on this link: http://www.lagosstate.gov.ng/subpage.php?k=1 (Document number 17 entitled: Details of Overhead cost by Agency/Directorates). The PDF document is 505 pages long. Here are some of the key budgetary items that should help us in our discussions: CABINET OFFICE (pg 15 - 26) upkeep and maintenance allowance = 1.5 Million Naira servicing of meetings = 10 Million Naira STATE TENDER BOARD servicing of meetings = 22 Million Naira OFFICE OF THE SPEAKER (Page 116) maintenance of staff quarters = 72 million Naira maintenence of Guest House = 36 million Naira upkeep and maintenance allowance = 55 Million conference and Seminars = 750 million Naira workshop and training = 607 million Naira special duties = 100 million Naira meet the press = 50 million Naira Entertainment = 100 Million Naira Celebrations and Ceremonies = 200 Million Naira Ceremonial Outfits = 10 million Naira Servicing of meetings = 180 Million Naira OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY GOVERNOR(page 168) maintenance of guest house = 80 million Naira upkeep and maintenance = 60 million Naira special duties = 70 Million Naira Entertainment = 50 Million Naira OFFICE OF THE CHIEF OF STAFF (page 446-448) - note multiple upkeep allowance upkeep and maintenance allowance = 63 million Naira maintenance of guest houses = 36 Million Naira upkeep and maintenance allowance = 67.5 million Naira Entertainment = 225 Million Naira special duties = 6.5 BILLION Naira Miscellenous = 117 million Naira on page 448 upkeep and maintenance = 27 million naira upkeep and maintenance = 90 million Naira upkeep and maintenance = 166.5 million Naira upkeep and maintenance = 126 Million Naira upkeep and maintenance = 36 Million Naira upkeep and maintenance = 13,5 million Naira Special Duties = 270 Million Naira |
Amosun should keep quiet and face his responsibilities. Arepo falls under his sphere of administration and he should provide the necessary logistics to ensure the security of NNPC installations within his state and also provide access road to the communities. Other state governors are taking more proactive roles in ensuring that strategic national assets within their domain are protected. The Baale of the area should be co-opted into any security arrangement (that's if he's not involved in the illegal siphoning of fuel and pipeline vandalism). |
Na wa for Nigerians. Accidents are usually isolated events and if investigations and audit show that the operators are able to continue flying safely, why should their license be withdrawn or withheld. DANA Air is a business venture and are not the only airline operating in Nigeria. If you are not comfortable flying with them, then go with other operators, but to say that their license should be withheld ad infinitum, no, it is not the best business practice that a country should be practicing. |

nerdivist: I thought she said her mother didn't eat for several days?going by reports, she was held for 5 days and given bread and groundnut twice, doesn't that equate to not being fed for many days? |
afam4eva: You talk like a slave. The bolded is an evidence. Do these people care if you understand their own diction? But you're here worrying about them not understanding your own. This is one of the reasons why Africa may never move forward because we'll rather copy than create our own unique product with what we have.@Afam, I don't know about being a slave, but you haven't disputed what I said in my earlier post: that we are failing this and subsequent generations of Nigerians by not insisting on the right things being done correctly. What would it take to insist on proper writing skills? I am talking from the point of having mentored many Nigerian Students outside the comfort zone of Nigeria (where almost everyone understands our "speak" , where they have to interact with people from other nations and are mandated to speak and write - one can't help but notice the gradual regression in the area of spoken and written English. We always hide behind the cliche: It's not our mother tongue, but whatever is worth doing (in this case, learning the English language), has to be done right. |
afam4eva: God punish spoken English. How about spoken Igbo and Yoruba. Why's no one worried about them?@Afam, English is now a universal language. Mastering it will not impede fluency in one's mother tongue or ability to learn other languages. We may not know the disservice we are doing to ourselves until we find ourselves in the midst of people from other nations - most people find it difficult understanding our (Nigerian) diction. The earlier we get serious (and hard) with the young ones on the proper use of spoken and written language skills, the better for us. Other nations are taking note and Nigerians are gradually being required to write English language test to prove their proficiency - what was unheard of some years ago |
Osaze is just out to bring disunity in the team. He should let those selected play their game. He won't be there at AFCON 2013, he should accept it and hope for a recall during the World Cup qualifiers |
@Omo_Tier1, I disagree with you on some of the points you raised. Firstly, I don't see any injustice that Osaze is fighting against. Accepted that our level of organization hasn't been up to the European standard that they have become accustomed to. Besides, Aluta in most cases doesn't solve any problem. It's the same issue of players openly coveting the captainship, when there's a "sitting" one still playing that has plagues countries like Cameroon and today, where is their football? If we let this Osaze egoistic run fester, then we'll pay dearly for it. Osaze incase we have forgotten is 31 years old and possibly doesn't have much future in the super Eagles to start with. Same captainship issue (and the way it was handled) almost plunged the German National team into turbulent waters. You cannot claim that Osaze denied making a claim to the captainship. He tweeted something to the effect that for some years now, the Super Eagle has been without a Captain (read, Yobo doesn't command my respect nor does the Vice Captain Enyeama, unless I am made the captain). We are not daft to see through his smoke screen. While we like him as a player, he's become so disruptive that we'll be glad to fail without him, while taking our chances at succeeding with those who are at least willing (even if not totally happy) at wearing our Jersey and representing the country. We thank him though for his services past. |
bamosagie: It doesn't matter if he is a Christian or Muslim so long as he have something to offer. Nigeria is still a secular state, religion remains a very personal thing. It matters a lot! At least in maintaining the relative peace that Kaduna State has enjoyed for some time now. After all, the Deputy Governor has no role per se in day to day governance of the state. I think he's too old to offer any meaningful leadership to the people of southern Kaduna |
Omo_Tier1: Do you even watch football at all? Several teams have had people nominate or put themselves up for captaincy without them being branded as outcast. Man city had the same issue not long ago and that was managed as an internal matter.@Omo_Tier1, could it have been that Osaze made the issue of Captainship the condition for playing for the Super Eagles? Remember he hasn't made himself available in the recent past for games or been left out entirely by the coaching crew. Besides, Yobo has been doing very well for the team, both as a player and the captain and he certainly commands the respect of his team mates and what do you think would happen if Keshi yields to his demand and "imposes" him on the team as captain? Certainly, those members who are "loyal" to Yobo would definitely sabotage his captainship and the team's effort at AFCON 2013. So it's better for the team to leave out a player (his talent is not in any way in question), than to cause rancor so close to an important competition. Once we win our first 2 games at AFCON 2013, nobody will remember Osaze again. P.S. In the perking order in Super Eagles, it's Yobo, Enyeama, Mikel before Osaze |
