It's the pronunciation that differs. Frog is pronounced 'ehwoo' You probably mean Toad instead of Frog. In my dialect, toad is called "awo (centralized igbo) or ewo/ehwo" while frog is called "mbara" |

You can use the app to move most of your apps to the Card |

Politics › Re: Supreme Council On Islamic Affairs Condemn Nigeria’s Stand On Palestine Issue by chidexy(m): 10:51am On Jan 02, 2015 |
dvee2: A lot of people comment with sentiment without research or history? The question is why did America or Isreal find the need to pressure Nigeria to abstain from voting? This is not about OIC or Christian or Muslim, it is about a nation strategic interest and its stand vis-a-vis global stand against oppression/apartheid etc. If you look at more than half of the countries that voted for a Palestinian state are Christian countries. South Africa has more christian than muslims but they always vote and stand for the palestinian state. Nigeria has always stood for and stand by the palestinian state. The question now is why the shift in foreign policy? the answer is simple - GEJ. We now have a president who views and take decision base on religion/ethnicity et al. He also can easily be pressurised and succumb to external influence. How can you explain a president who just few days ago protest lack of assistance from USA and now succumbing to US pressure not to vote? Correct Nigerias vote or not voting will not change the outcome of the palestinian course because US would have vetoed it afterall, but why will US shift the onus to Nigeria? why cant Nigeria stick to their centuries old stand and allow US to veto the votes? Once again GEJ by this vote has clearly shown how parochial he can be with his sence of reasoning. Once again this is not about christian/muslim, it is about a clear shift in our foreign policy. Nigeria have always stood with the oppress in their foreign policy from the fight against aphartied and the rest. This administration has now change the course of our foreign deplomacy to be a reaction to christian or muslim nation. its a pity this is what we see even internally now. Finally on the issue of joining OIC, who cares? what do the average Nigerian muslim gain from Nigeria being a member of OIC? nothing. However, remember just yesterday the Finance minister lectured that she is going to get a loan from the ISLAMIC DEVELOPMENT BANK to help cushion the effect of the oil price slump. This i believe is the only reason successive government Christian/muslim have retain Nigerian membership of the OIC. It has nothing to do with Islamisation. Nobody can Islamise Nigeria. it is not possible and every sane mind knows that. but its easy to use it as a political tool, but nobody has the interest and nobody can islamise Nigeria. full stop. Bros, Nigeria still supports statehood for the Palestinian people but it must be a negotiated one. There are some serious contentious issues in the text before the UN security council that would have necessitated our abstinence. It was the right decision. They should go back to the negotiating table and resolve those issues. |

Politics › Re: Muhammadu Buhari Overthrows Shagari's Govt On This Day The 31st December 1983 by chidexy(m): 12:49pm On Dec 31, 2014 |
PassingShot: If you were 3 days old, then the Nigeria you were born into has not really treated you well.
I was old enough to attest to it that there was jubilation across the land when Buhari was made head of State. The military was really welcomed by Nigerians because we had had enough of the looting and corruption of Shagari's regime. Buhari introduced a lot of stringent measures to put Nigeria back on the right track which many Nigerians didn't really like then. There was a lot of complaints about his style which IBB seized advantage of to overthrow him.
Nigerians jubilated when IBB took power and he was always full of laughter whenever he addressed the nation. Nigerians loved him for this but you know what? It didn't take long before it dawned on us that Buhari was indeed far better than IBB. IBB was the leader who actually institutionalized corruption and stole our wealth on such a scale never seen before. Since IBB's regime, it has actually being getting worse for Nigeria up to this moment.
For how we have seen this journey, it is no surprising that the bulk of Buhari's supporters are those who experienced his regime and are able to objectively compare with those other regimes after his. Only recently are the youths getting the message. I guess if he is declared winner you will pack out of Nigeria, never to be seen again since you say he can never rule you.
This is an example of what Nigeria was then:
Doyin Okupe, the Presidential trumpet said and I quote: " Voting Buhari/Osinbajo is like taking Nigeria back to the Nigeria of 80s..."
And I ask myself, Who doesn't want the life of Nigeria of 80s?.
In the Nigeria of 1980s, we slept with our two eyes closed and our doors opened without no threat.
In the Nigeria of 80s, people worshipped in the Mosque & Church without the fear of been killed.
In the Nigeria of 80s, our Naira was stronger than the dollar.
In the Nigeria of the 80s, we had good roads, good schools, good hospitals, etc...
If life was so good and sacrosanct in the 1980s, then I want Buhari/Osinbajo to take us memory lanes comes 2015.
How about you Are you referring to North Korea or Nigeria? |

Our only bet is china and maybe india. If the price of conventional oil at the international market falls below 50-60 dollars per barrel, it becomes uneconomical to continue to extract shale oil. Elose11: Aljazeera analysts are lazy fools. Just like the typical muslims they are behaving like the proverbial ostrich. Burying its head in the sand while its main body is exposed. More than 80% of towns taken over by bh are christian dominated areas. These people voted almost 100% for GEJ during 2011 election. If GEJ is using boko haram to decimate the north east ahead 2015 election, why his main supporters. This man is not as foolish as a whole bunch of you. You are right. The whole Boko Haram nonsense is all about closing the 10 million votes deficit that Buhari recorded in 2011. The first wave of the operation targeted churches and areas populated by mostly southerners in the North. This led to mass exodus of southerners from their main cities. The second wave of the operation targets the mostly christian areas of the North East. All the communities being sacked are majorly Christian domain and where the president recorded votes in 2011. If you are in doubt, study the demography of the 2011 votes. Be sure that as February approaches, you'll have more of this scare bomb explosions to further scare people (especially those who might not vote for their preferred candidate - read Buhari) from coming out to cast their votes |

When did ACN logo become an umbrella? Don't pretend not to see umbrella on that tag. The "A" there is AGENT. Zoom into the image. Won't be surprised if you respond and still claim it's not pdp. You are right. The "A" is part of the word AGENT covered by the electoral officer's cap and his tag bears the Umbrella. However, this was during the presidential elections in 2011, somewhere in the North and we know what the results were there. We also know that in a particular party's stronghold, even the agents of the opposing party (most are themselves residents of the area) look the other way to most electoral malfeasance |
