Spyder880, welcome to Ebonyi. Where exactly are you carrying out your project? |
Kolade9: Hw is dis iron going to stop a fast moving car?If you have a car and doubt it's veracity, why don't you try driving through it at top speed and let us know afterwards |
ayox2003: Its on all dailies. It's on all dailies but reported differently. The quote from Sahara Reporters assigned to Jaja isn't accurate. I just listened to his comments on Channels TV |
bakila: Ok now that you have admitted that its because she is Igbo those who have eyes have seen. We are all witnessess to the katakata about wuruwuru at SEC, for the Coordinating Minister of the economy to take that trip to SEC SHOW THAT PADDY PADDY IS ON.SEC falls under the purview of the Ministry of Finance |
foyeks2001: kindly visit Ekiti State plsYou should rather visit Ekiti State. Those Professors and PhD holders there will also confirm to you that it takes discipline, hardwork and something upstairs to earn it |
Kobojunkie: This is why I hate taking anything the moronic members of the Ignoramuses for Goodluck Jonathan spew here. A couple of days ago, one of them blockheads claimed that since Jonathan came into power, all salaries were being paid on time. Yet less than a week after that ignorant comment, here we have in picture evidence that that monkey was only lying to his own mother here.@Kobojunkie, why don't you get your facts right. They were protesting against Manitoba energy company taking over PHCN and for the payment of their severance allowance, not their monthly salaries. Channels TV interviewed their Union leader and he said as much. Leave GEJ out of it, at least for now |
6 years minimum is the ideal age for a child to start primary school. Most parents are now in a hurry to process their kids into "adulthood". In most advanced countries, kids are only allowed to start school at 6/7 years of age |
dammytosh: Boss,I will try to address your points one after the other: On Otedola: 1.Has the SSS confirmed yet if they were really involved ab initio? So the jury is still out on that 2. Same as above, the SSS is yet to clarify if they gave Otedola the marked money and where the money came from, Otedola or Govt coffers. Until then, it's still, he said, she said 3. It's a crime to record or film private conversations without the person's knowledge (only security agencies are permitted so to do - if the case gets to the court, it may not be admissible as evidence due to technicalities 4. You never can tell if he was spooked into coming out first. In any case, both the giver and receiver are guilty of the same offence 5. In a sane country, he would have slept in jail (and remain there for as long as is necessary) for not answering the House committee's questions. He's not to tell the committee when and how to answer their questions. Besides, he has no duty entering the committee meeting room with his lawyer, he's not yet in court On Farouk: 1. A simple forensic voice analysis will determine that 2. It has now entered "he said, I said" stage. Put both on oath and have their statements so that at the end of the day whoever is lying among the two goes to Jail for lying on oath 3. Didn't Otedola say that the dollars were marked? How could it be spent without it being tracked? Surely it must have been deposited somewhere or exchanged for Naira. By the way, the only physical evidence in this matter is missing. Just like trying to investigate murder without the murder weapon 4-6. A cornered man will always deny. Let's hope more light will be thrown on the case. The Police and EFCC should have made at least 2 arrests by now - Otedola and Farouk P.S. both are criminals and should be punished severely |
Oshiomhole is over doing this thing. He should calm down, after all, the election is his to lose. Sadly, innocent lives are being lost/put at risk just to garner sympathy before elections |
@Kobojunkie, can you give instances where your US congress has ever summoned their President? I can't seem for find any. Even when they wanted to "invite over" Condolezza Rice, so much trade offs were made behind the scene on what questions she could be asked and for how long she's to appear before them - if they had used the summons or subpoena it wouldn't have worked |
Kobojunkie: Stop making stuff up!!! What are you? 3 years old? Didn't your mother teach you that just because you can say it, does not make it true? While technically, the House can summon anyone, but they cannot extend such powers to the President since they do not have the legal authority to enforce his being summoned - it's a simple as that. Say, under what legal authority are they summoning the President and Commander in-Chief? |
In a Presidential System of government (the type we are practicing), the house does not have the powers and/or authority to summon the President. Their oversight function stops with the MDAs. If they want to know anything about the security situation in the country, they can/may summon the heads of the security agencies. Besides, it's useless arguing with most people here. The Yorubas, especially, will never see anything positive in anything concerning President Jonathan. |
spyder880: This grout you are talking about, its applied after the tiles are done on the floor? It's usually applied on the floor to ensure evenness before tiling. That way, one knows the thickness of the tile+ mortar and fixing the door jambs before tiling won't pose any problems |
Oga Spyder880 and Co, may I jump in on the flooring discussion going on. There is a type of Mortar called Leveling Mortar/grout, which can repair uneven surfaces of up to 6-7cm difference. You need only to mix it according to manufacturer's prescription and pour on the floor and it evens out the floor and ensure that one gets a level floor. Also our building practice of using the concrete as the floor causes the problem of door fixing later. My experience is to pour the floor on the concrete (and leveled later if need be) meanwhile, the door frames are mounted before flooring. That way, doors can be mounted without problems before or after tiling. Have a good evening and continue with the good works you are doing |
Carnivals the world over are all about colors - different shades of it. Whether it's taking place in Rio, Nottingham, Tokyo, Berlin, Lagos, Calabar or even in Boko Haram enclave, it's all about the color and beauty of it. Lagos residents do however know how to enjoy themselves. Missed being part of it |
Silva Timipre wants assurances from the President before coming to face charges against him at the courts - what a nonsense. He can become a fugitive of the law for all I care. While seeking political asylum, he should remember to avoid Britain and Dubai, unless he wants to go and join his friend and colleague Ibori. |
prince_onx: Ol'boy, I hope this house is safe to study in. How long did it take to get it to that stage? A week? or less? Knowing naija and how we do our things I doubt if all right standards will be followed to assemble/build with this type of material. I still think our block style of building is stronger/safer.This is the way to go if the government is interested in constructing houses/classroom blocks that are durable. It's very safe, considering that the walls are made of concrete. In most countries, houses are built using prefabricated parts. In Germany, you can never see things like staircase being cast - even for stand alone duplexes - they take prefabricated steps and set them into their already appointed places. Besides, Imo State and Owerri in particular have got experience with prefabricated houses. In the 80s (during Mbakwe's regime) a whole section of the town was built that way, and it's called Prefab close to Aladinma housing estate by Ikenegbu. Oga Spyder, you can go and check out the houses there. |
spyder880:Oga Spyder, I thought grout is applied the same time that the tiles are laid? won't the grout crack while setting if done at a much later stage? Anyway, what I am used to is the grout being applied and the tiles cleaned immediately afterwards. Good luck with your project and more blessings |
spyder880: By ready, I mean the toilet seats are installed but not connected, (toilet septic tank work still ongoing) the tilers are still working on the tiles and are yet to close some little gaps, but the boys sure know the job, speed plus skills.Oga Spyder, good job so far on your duplex. A suggestion though, why don't you consider using Silicon or Acryl for the junction where the 2 walls meet instead of just normal grout. Prevents the growth of mildew on tile edges. Also the juction floor/wall should be filled with Silicon. Meanwhile, it seems you are on the way to eating watery soup since you missed Madam's deadline for moving in hahahahahaha! |
Still more questions on your septic tank/soak away pit. Won't that interfere with your water source - seepage into the underground aquifer. I assume you'ld sink a borehole in your backyard |
A question though, apart from wooden and Alumnium doors and windows, are there other types available? Do you have any idea(s) on the cost of such windows? |
Oga Spyder880, is that lion gated building along Umuahia road from Owerri/Mba5 axis? Great work you are doing. Carry go! |
blogger1.0:@Blogger1.0 your marks for english is in order and the english teacher was right too in his independent scoring. JAMB uses what is called negative marking - for each question attempted and failed, you lose one point. Assuming you got 86 questions right and incorrectly shaded 14 questions, you would lose 14 points from the 86 you got right, bringing your actual score down to 62. Hope this helps in clearing up your scores |
Spyder880, nice to have you in the heartland. I enjoyed the city where I studied for 5 years. If you need direction to the delicious watering holes, just say so. Enjoy your time in Owerri and give us updates as "connection" allow |
Spyder880, great work you are doing. The conduit pipes seem a bit "spaghetti" to me. I guess the wires will drop down there to the circuit/fuse box. Will the change in the length of the porch significantly affect the cost of the project in any way. Also, what is the likely cost of a sqare meter of walling with 9" block? Great evening to you and yours |
somehow I am not able to access the attached document on metals. Where could the problem be? |
spyder880:The window level was set too low - not good especially if you got kids at home. So it's a safety precaution. Also, it is easier to correct and fill up the space down than having to do it above the window frame. I hope I scored up to 30%. About time someone gives Oga Fhemmy a run for his 1st position in class. |
Don't know about live feed, but most TV stations in Nigeria should carry the main events live. Try Channels TV online live stream. http://www.channelstv.com/global/live_video.php |
I do not think there are price differential in tuition fees at the primary and secondary level in Imo State for non-Imolites resident there - just that they do not benefit from the 100 per pupil/student monthly subvention. He introduced free education for all at that level. I cannot say about the University tuition though. |
@Afam4eva, so after listening to the balderdash spewing out of Femi-Fani Kayode's mouth on Channels TV you suddenly realized that the name Nigeria means Darkness. Black and Darkness are not the same nor synonyms. Tell your mentor to get back to class and relearn his "history". Our name relates to the beautiful river Niger that flows through our nation and should NEVER be changed. If he's tired of being a Nigerian, he should dust up his British passport and leave us to be Nigerians |
Oga Spyder, what's the diameter size of the (iron)stones from Awgu? Doesn't the size of the granite used in mixing the concrete matter? What's ideal in your professional opinion? Hope madam surprised you on Valentine |
what a miss! Drogba!!!! |
