Dumb: Yes Lady, especially the clapping part when the plane is about to land!!!Fucking annoying@Dumb, why don't you google "clapping when a plane lands" and read other people's experience. In Germany it's widespread |
Jollof: 7. Sitting ovation. I'm not sure if you can relate but you're nearing your flight destination and as soon as the plane lands successfully passengers around you start to clap until virtually everyone joins in. Why are they doing this, you ask? beats me - for landing safely or for not crashing into the deep blue sea or for getting their money's worth after usurping the mini bar...I dunno. The clapping is cheesy in my opinion. I'd much prefer passengers go one by one to shake the pilot(s) for a job well done plane well-landed.This is pretty much universal, not particular with Nigerian flyers |
How many kids does Soyinka have? I lost count with the litany of wives |
in some countries, it is required by regulation to have the light on during the day. In Poland, the police will pull any driver over driving without lights on and fined heavily. In Germany, the debate is still on whether it should be made mandatory and I think it's same with most other EU countries. It enhances visibility and the oncoming driver is more likely to see the other driver. As a safety precaution, motorists in the EU are required to put their headlights on if it is raining |
Eko Ile:Does any or all of these give him the right to call for the impeachment of our president? You never cease to amaze me at your twisted logic. Whether you like it or not. President Jonathan is not going to be impeached and come 2015, he'll win the election convincingly. The Southwest and a section of the North can continue with their unholy 1967 alliance, it won't put anyone from the 2/3 regions in Aso Rock in 2015 |
And who the hell is Joel Brinkley? |
PHIPEX: If the PDP guys move to APC what then is the difference between the old and the new parties? If the people we considered bad Governors of PDP suddenly change party to APC will it make them now good? It's like we are doomed with these same crop of leaders, imagine when OBJ now supports APC?The highlighted refer: Obasanjo is a secret ACN member. That's the only reason why he resigned as BOT Chairman of PDP. |
Thought the Glass House changed their name from NFA to NFF, why are the socks of the Super Eagles branded NFA? |

Tribute by the respected Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in Germany Der nigerianische Schriftsteller Chinua Achebe ist tot.

spyder880: The copper bar is sometimes laid on the top of the roofing tiles but it is better to run beneath the roof. Keeps the roof free and fine.Is it safe to lay the copper "bar" beneath the roof? Considering the amount of voltage they dissipate. I've only seen "exposed" ones |
Eko Ile: American presidents residing in the white house personally pay for their own food and entertainment. They get a bill from the government at the end of every month. They don't feed fat on the taxpayers like the incompetent and lazy aso rock freeloaders...American first family pay for their own food that they eat, but they do not pay for the food that the workers at the white house eat and the secret services and all the other ancillary workers there. Besides, they do not pay for the state functions and dinners hosted by the first lady from their own pocket. On the Lagos State Budget for food, it's been debated exhaustively on another thread and data provided by the Lagos State budgetary office was shown as enough proof. I must reiterate that there's nothing wrong with budgeting such amounts (in my opinion) either at the federal or state level for feeding and entertainment. After all, that's what perks of office are there for |
Jonathan has done nothing out of the ordinary in pardoning Alams. It was perfectly within his power and authority as the President and he has chosen to exercise it. Alams, on the other hands, is also qualified to be pardoned, haven been formerly convicted of a crime and "served" his term. |
kingoflag: Your opinion of George Bush or Cheney and co does not concern me. You know they invaded to steal Iraq's oil because you were part of the war cabinet?@ Kingoflag, I am only responding to the highlighted. Most of you have made unnecessary noise over the amount budgeted for food at the Aso Rock. The White house budgets $500 million annually for food. Lagos state govt, budgets about $5 million for food and entertainment at their Alausa house. |
Well, at the Embassy in Berlin, Germany, the situation was chaotic before, but to the surprise (pleasant, though) of many Nigerians, steps were taken to restore some order and dignity. The consular section works only by previous appointment. Same too with the passport division. Maybe other embassies should take a cue from them. The last time I went for my new Nigerian Passport, I was embarrassed by how nice and courteous the staff were to us |
I wish Dele Sobowale had concentrated on telling us about the "ordinary" Nigerian Aviation workers who were "unjustly" sacked because they come from a "particular" ethnic group, then he would have had my ears and sympathy. Why Babalakin of all people? You've lost those who would have been sympathetic to your cause. Still awaiting the concluding part |
At first glance, I thought it was Mr. Reuben Abati |
There are strange genetic conditions. I watched a documentary that's the exact opposite of this case. A 16 year old girl that looks almost 50. On youtube there is a video of the condition https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoBetcKAxII |
segxyrema: Forget agreement or no agreement GEJ is going nowhere, nothing like 2nd term, this single term of bloodshed is ok I think. That's not the issue. Jonathan, constitutionally, has the right to seek a second term. Whether or not he gets the nod of his party to fly their flag during the election and by extension, be elected for a second term is another thing altogether. The so called agreement isn't worth the paper in which it is inked |

It would have been better had they routed their flight through Lagos instead of Abuja. Millions would have been around to welcome them instead of the few thousands that are there at the Abuja Airport. Though Keshi's saga has taken the shine off the celebrations |
We shouldn't forget that Coach Keshi alluded to the "older" players still being relevant in his future plans. The qualifying round of the 2014 World cup starts in a few weeks and you shouldn't be surprised to see Osaze and Martins making a comeback. They were only left out of the AFCON and not from playing for Nigeria again |
African Footballer of the Year 2013 - Victor Moses. All other contestants are hereby warned to keep off |
Nigeria have today successfully defended the title they won in 1994 |
We are the CHAMPIONS!!! |

chukkynwob: manosteel: This our Coach self mumu, he thought He had made a change, he removed Moses and brought in Musa, what is the difference! Na the same player still dey field now.You seem to have missed the irony in his statement. Moses (in Christianity) and Musa (Islamic) are one and the same |
Final here we come! |
