The boys tried but lost thanks to two silly mistakes by the goalkeeper |
I wish it was Kayode that got the red so we see what other formation the coach can come up with. Playing a lone strike upfront isn't working at all |
National Anthem being played |
The hill has just gotten steeper for Spain |
Oga Spyder880, well done and a terrific job you are doing. Now that the "noise makers" are gone from the thread, let's settle down and watch the master builder do what he knows best. More cement to your concrete, oops, it's more grease to your elbow |
Gani Adams seems to have matured over the years, especially his worldview - more than other leaders in our contemporary Nigeria. However, the marginalization of the Yoruba at the national level should be attributed to the strategy of the ACN. The Speaker of house of Rep was zoned to the SW but ACN mobilized their rank and file members to scuttle that. Even if the person being supported by the PDP could be considered as not strong politically, he would have at least been an ear for the Yoruba and sit at the table when some strategic decisions are being taken. Their next highest ranked person at the seat of power, Reuben Abati, is constantly being harangued by his kinsfolk. |
gunuvi: Those guys are heroes. They are terrorist. Don't try to justify their action because they are your kinsmen. I didn't know they are still alive. I thought they were decapitated. |
blink182: try it and let frsc or police get you. It will be like a joke when you land in prison. Then you will know the meaning of 'all animals are equal but some are more equal than others'.what about all the traditional rulers who use the coat of arm and "official" emblems, despite their not being recognized constitutionally. It is the constitution that confers legitimacy not the emblem on the podium |
poor showing by the boys. Will be difficult to defeat the Koreans or the Cubans with this type of display. Let's hope that the U-17 boys will perform better in July. As for these present crop of players, no hope of progressing to the knock out stages |
why are the boys afraid to shoot? They've been running helter-skelter round the pitch without making much impact |
yarodin: Di bobo wey score second goal for Portugal na Naija bobo? No, his parents are from Guinea Bissau |
Kayode should be subbed. When he's not dribbling himself, he's kicking at opponents. 2 silly goals conceded already |
The match is getting a bit boring. Still 0:0 |
They are "bribing" our boys with cowrie beads |
The teams are filing out. Go Super Eagles! |
what would have been the reaction of some Nigerians and the likes of Femi Fani-Kayode, had the attackers been of Northern Nigeria extraction or other sections of Nigeria other than the tribe these cretins come from? This lame attempt at obfuscation is rather alarming |
who is he going to fight? Mr. Ibu, Saka or Charlie Boy? |
who will take the medication (drug)? Oh, the ladies will swallow the pills and it would automatically stop their spouses from cheating |
zobo-i-zee:Spot on. But Manu Garba should keep the team intact and work on the faults highlighted during this tournament |
It's good that the boys lost in the final. At least, they'll have time to analyze their shortfalls and correct them before the world cup. If they had won, it would have been extremely difficult to identify those and rectify them. Manu Garba and his coaching crew have done an excellent job in assembling and molding the team. So off you go, roll up your sleeves and get back to work - hopefully, the fatty bom boms at the NFF will let him be |
gbosaa: His team has beaten twice by same cote d'ivoire so he has no excuse.Actually, we lost to CIV on technical superiority. Their coach understudied our style of play and adapted his game plan to beat our superior ball control. I hope the coach works further on the boys, especially our back 4 + the goalkeeper. The world has taken notice of our boys, despite losing, we are technically more superior than the other teams and they are going to watch out for the boys during the World cup. A great tournament the guys played. Kudos |
The defense is our weakest link and the goalkeeper is the weakest of the weak links. All the goals we've conceded so far in this tournament have been cheap ones |
Omo_Tier1: Maybe you should ask yourself why did the FG ask LASG in the first instance to put a hold on their cctv project? Would it not have been wise for the FG to set up an implementation cross government committee within the relevant ministry to work with the state government to harmonise both projects and ensure it is completed to scope? As for exclusive right of the FG to install cctv, I am not entirely sure if this is the case, however, the special status of Lagos could mean there is a statue that give FG this right, I need to research this further myself. However, like I said, no Nigerian cases which government or party keeps them safe, so long as they are safe, any idea or project that would enhance this safety needs the support and effectiveness of all involved to bring the project to fruition.Oga Omo_Tier1, the highlighted refer: I have asked myself that question severally, and yet to find a reasonable answer. I assume that the FG directive that the Lagos State Govt halt further roll out of the CCTV cameras should have come with the relevant reasons (supported by law of course), strong enough to have made the state govt to stop. Methinks that the State agencies should have liaised with the FG to address some of their concerns. At the end of the day, CCTV may not really be the solution to our security challenges (might help) since we do not have a database of our citizens |
Michaeljones36: I can think of a few reasons why the FG would threaten the LASG so that this project doesn't succeed:@Michaeljones36, I wasn't asking about individual and subjective reasons why the FG "could" be against the LaSG on this particular issue. I asked some pertinent questions: Is it exclusively reserved in our constitution and laws, that the issue of cctv installation be handled by the FG? If yes, then the state govt would have been aware of it ab initio, but if no, then there's no reason on their part to discontinue with their project or to be directed by the FG to stop further expansion of the programme they already have on ground. As you rightly asked Michaeljones36: Why? States cannot make their own laws now? Each state is made up of adults. The State Governments don't need the FG to hold their hand for everything., the state govt should be able to make their own laws, but that law has to be made first (reasons, refer to PointB earlier post) before the CCTVs are installed |
Omo_Tier1: Why not educate yourself a little and realise much of those ground work have been done and the extant of the relevant laws today is sufficient, though as a society that yarns for improvement, refinements will be required.@Omo_Tier1, I have no problems with your submission and my argument is not on the merit or otherwise of installing CCTV Cameras to help in checkmating criminals. What I don't understand is the lame argument given in the original article as published by the Punch Newspapers on why the FG is ostensibly against the state government carrying on with the project with its own funds. hence my question on the rights of the state government to install CCTV cameras. Is it the exclusive reserve of the FG (according to our existing laws)? If it's not, then the reasons given by the LaSG are lame, to say the least |
The excuse(s) given by the Lagos State Govt is/are lame. Is the installation of CCTV cameras the exclusive reserve of the FG? The few CCTV already installed (as claimed by Eko Atlantic and Omo Tier and are being monitored at the security command center) had no objections from the FG, so why the statewide coverage? LaSG should be more forthcoming. However, CCTV cameras should not be installed without first enacting an enabling law to protect the privacy of Nigerians. |
2-1 in favor of Ivory Coast |
Ego Boyo |
joeyfire: How could I forget the most important point.Obasanjo withheld Lagos LGA allocation, not the state allocation. A silly political action if you asked me, cos instead of working against Tinubu and AD's political interest,as he had hoped, it rather garnered support for Tinubu |
Oga Spyder, Happy Easter to you and your family. Please do you have any idea of how much a unit price of window cost? Thanks |
