joshuakdboy:don't mind him. He's sounding so confident. There's never a formula for betting. Many have come to me with 'sure games', but it failed |
dj5naira:so we rub minds on the way forward. we need to declare a state of emergency on gambling. You might not be involved, but a dear one might be affected. Gambling crumbled my dad's finances, it has destabilized me and my mates. If only there were good jobs for people to venture into |
swiz123:lol... You're right though. It has been from one problem to another. But I think it's worse now, do you believe that the same phone that made me hit my mum has been gambled off for peanut by me ![]() |
@yunyjoe I can't check my mail. I noticed you sent something. You can resend to pheelipsteven@gmail.com |
TrapHedges:huh? Acting holier than thou |
Princeofnigeria:cool. I don't know if I should always give any money I make to someone to hold for me since I loose control when I make money |
ever since then, I noticed that things has not been well with me. I'm not composed, I mismanage money, easily fall sick and enter trouble often. Should I swallow my pride and beg for me to be well and to have peace of mind? |
for those that follow my obnoxious lifestyle, you must have read where I mentioned my father placed a curse on me because I hit my mum. I felt bad and texted my dad that I was sorry. He gave a condition that I kneel down and tell my mum I'm sorry before the curse can be broken. He added I should put a call through to him on speakers so he can hear me say it.... Imagine! Me that has pride and was over-pampered (a brat) |
Hmm... I've failed myself. I went back to the betting shop. 1200 naira gone. I won't give up the struggle to change though. You too shouldn't! |
so far, I'm doing well in my rehabilitation. My boss gave me some money to handle and I didn't disappoint. I hope those who made similar resolutions to change with me are still living up to expectations. Enough is Enough! Lets occupy our minds and distance ourselves from betting sites |
FloxySmart:that so not proper. All the same, happy birthday! |
Nofav0rs:Hmm... Not that. But Okay if you say so |
Chei! today is just 15th. 16 more days before I would be paid my next salary. I wonder how I will cope. I guess it's the price I have to pay for a BetterMe. I'll be more then grateful though if any one can lend me 2k to pay back may be 3k by month end |
MDsambo:I know, life's a teacher. So far, I'm in recovery day 2. I'm yet to visit a bet shop. Hopefully it stays this way till the end of the year. Even if my battery is down, I won't bother going there to charge my phone. some of their shops even have dstv installation to entice vulnerable youths |
Jethrolite:please you're not needed here. We're working on rehab!
|
chiwex:I like your second point. Friends always talking about bets lure me back into the act. I need to avoid 90 percent of those I roll with. I think going back to my church society can help. The people there can help shift my mind from talks about sports. Though it would be hard going back to church (stopped a year ago) but I'll try for my sanity sake |
acenazt:Wow.. Inspirational. I'm happy for you. a whole 5 months without betting! I really need to fight this. Betting has rendered me useless. Do you know that no amount of money I get has value in my hands again. I'm always thinking of how I'll take back lost money at bet centres. I throw away money As if I didn't work for it.... Hmm. It's not just me, many students and adults are suffering from this. I hardly take care of myself. No toiletries, no new clothes or good food. I think occupying myself 24/7 with something that is not sport-related can help out |
merbenko:Hmm... I don't think the same strategy can work for all. For some, it's better not to gamble at all because they might not be able to control the rate at which they do it. It might not be a case of eyeing millions I'll use myself as example. The more I lose, the more I stake as I become hyperactive. It's not like I stake higher to win millions. just 2 odd my brother. My heart palpitates fast and I bet within the range of 150, 500, 2000, 4500 etc. I guess it's because I'm always passionate to suceed in anything I do. For those like me, I'll advice you keep off entirely from gambling |
Dacronym:that's small. Mine will be close to 200k. How I get the money amazes me because I don't make that much. It's just that when the gambling spirit enters a person, it makes one go the extra mile to get money. This includes selling properties, borrowing and duping people. Hmm... I really need to be self-contented with what I have and forget the losses of the past. It's what always pushes me back to the act. |
HallaDaTruth:Hmm.. On point. A stronger addiction will be the solution. Hmm... I wonder what strong addiction can be stronger than this since I'm a fervent football lover. Huh?? I'll try to focus on a business I love |
HOLYDICK:Hmm... Powerful words. But it takes a great degree of self-control to follow those rules |
MDsambo:yea, I know. Thats what addiction like that does to someone |
Dandanlowo:Hmm.. Sh1t happens. I can relate. We need to really change our motivation. The act has made me loose it as I don't think straight anymore. the whites used our passion for football to pin us down to their bet sites. But, I won't give up the fight to change/stop! I wanna start by restricting my movement |
just yesterday, I punted with the remaining part of my April salary. Feeling sad, broke, depressed and sober. I really want to change now (like I always say). Those in my shoes, feel free to air your mind on what you are passing through too so we find a way out. Suggestions are needed. I'm thinking we have a forum on whatsapp to encourage ourselves |
enough is enough. I'll go straight to the point. I'm a bet9ja addict. my penchant for bet9ja virtual soccer has led me to: - sell all my property and run away from my rented apartment (back then in school) -it made me abandon my education as I got into shaddy deals where my life was at stake . (sold someone's phone to gamble) |
the same people who said all sort of unprintable words have started talking to me again. But does that remove the curse they have placed? By the time the things they said start manifesting in my life, they will blame village people or say I'm good for nothing. This might be one of the reasons some people abandon their parents at old age. We need to bless and not curse |
I'll go straight to the point. Why do parents derive joy in pouring insults and curses on their children. I know some are bad but correction with stern words are better than negative comment. The day I lost control and pushed my mum down, there is no curse in this world my mum and dad didn't place on you. My dad said: 'you will roam round the street without peace of mind for touching my wife'. He continued: you will feel the effects of my powers as a strong traditional man, it will never be well with you' Hmmm... |
SMH. Even village people weak for this your matter
|
Colourich:I'm teamSlim. Anyway, anytime ![]() |
you have just killed the chances of your thread making frontpage with that title
|
UDUJ:I don talk my own. If you like give birth in naija (a developing country). Once he/she grows up and see they were not treated the way developed countries treat children, they'll hate u for it. Whatever they become in life will bounce back to you. Just like my parents have questions to answer for not making me excel. better save yourself the high B.P issues! |
