Jessam:I am so proud of you guys into poultry, ranching and animal husbandry. Continue your best. Soon, people will see that this is the only sustainable business in Nigeria. If you guys can afford it, open up "Meat Shops" in Enugu, Onitsha, Aba, owerri and other big cities. Supply your meat shops with frozen poultry, turkey, pork from your farm and sell a little cheaply per kilogram of meat to the public through your "Meat Shops" . Package your meat at your farm and stick the price on it, then ship them to the meat shops. Before you know it, Jessam meat shops will be a household name in the entire SE and SS. people can even give you contracts to supply meat for weddings and other occasions.

I love Akpabio for one reason, he finishes all his projects with outstanding aesthetics. From his stadium,Mall, roads, libraries. hospitals, flyovers, hotels, akpabio's trademark is excellent finishing with landscaping of every project, which many Nigerian leaders lack. We chronically lack leaders like Akpabio in Nigeria. Obiano seems to be another great leader that insists on fine finishing of projects. Imagine peter Obi spent N300 million and dualized park road Onitsha, then simply refused to mount street lights after providing the stand for them to be mounted? Yet, our people make excuses for leaders with a habit of poor finishing? i am a Peter Obi fan, but we don't want such attitude on public projects that cost millions to build, but you can't spend a few thousands to make sure it is finished well and to standard. That thing that makes us go to Abuja, we should make our infrastructure standard like Abuja, or Uyo. i don't know who said that trees and streetlight cannot be in the median. yet we see same all over Nigeria? How come they can do it and we can't because it's in anambra state? They should plant both trees and streetlights on that median and make it beautiful like these pictures from other areas of Nigeria. It isn't too much for us to expect things of great finishing for our projects. Those flyovers will end up costing Anambra N15 billion, so they should be beautified to the highest standard.

dontjealousme:You probably have never seen this flyover nor this design. The flyover was not built as a regular bridge EXCEPT the portion where the beams were placed where it crosses the street below. Before that point where it crosses the street below, the rest of the flyover is actually a normal road which is gradually elevated by soil. That fundamental design is what makes it possible to plant in the median. Those technically sound folks that understand what i have described know that you can actually drill a borehole in the median and it will hit water table because it is same soil is uninterrupted until the water table ! It was never suspended on concrete pillars until the portion where it actually crossed the street. You probably don't understand it, but some folks in the house that have seen it know. |
Based on this flyover's design, the median will have earth. I will specially recommend that it is not covered up with concrete. Instead it should be lined with exhortic palm trees as in the picture below to make it very beautiful. Imagine those palm leading up the flyover?

As we strive to develop tourism as an alternative source of income. Is there a way Gov. Ugwuanyi can get Hotel Presidential to look something like this similar hotel with same design and age? if we sold hotel presidential, could it be revived to its former glory?
|
investnow2013:^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I like this hotel above. the ambiance will be great Our hotels are really coming up in standard, but somehow, we still build them like apartments or flats as we say in Naija. the general ambiance is still not what it should be. I think we should always create a drive in reception lobby as in an average hotel and then make the environment great. We can copy how others build small and beautiful hotels to make our own hotels great. I personally hope the Agulu Hotel and the Onitsha hotel on Park road will look like the second and last picture respectively, because they are the same pattern & style.

So Buhari is yellling 'Corruption, corruption, yet he paid a whopping N25 Billion to a faceless company REMITA and refused to disclose if he or his friends were owners of the company? Yet, he screams Kworruption!, if an underpaid Nigerian policeman asks for N25 naira bribe? |
![]() Oga anti-kworruption will not see this one. It is only kworruption if it is a Phee-Dee-Phee member Carmal90: |

centje:Yes, they can plan ingenious roundabouts to seamlessly exchange traffic from one highway into another. Where such a roundabout could be built can be ingeniously seen if aerial photographic study of the region. Meanwhile, they need to redesign the present ninth mile flyover to make it easier to get on from the express as well as using it to transfer traffic from nsukka to Enugu. |
Obasanjo thought ghana's president were the same as the puppet Nigerian puppy presidents that are so scared of telling him who he is to his face. I am glad the ghana president showed Obasanjo that his name was neith goodluck jonathan nor muhammedu buhari that were scared of him revealing the corrupt past. |
spyder880:Spyder, Are they going to dualize this road? it needs to be dualized. |
maxwinno:If we were brothers as you claim, you won't single their zone out for maltreatment and starve it of federal investment / infrastructure. Even though the north didn't vote for GEJ, he gave more than 85% of his infrastructure development to the north. That is how to show you are a leader not a vengeful pharaoh. The SE and SS should be allowed to build their future away from the vengeful northern led quasi-dictatorship and systematic plot to make the less than slaves in their own land. God Forbid! The perpetual cold war against sections of this country must come to an end. If we were brothers as you claim, you won't single them out to make sure they are excluded from governance of Nigeria and under represented in every way possible. BTW, Massob or IPOB don't have arms. It is against their charter, but they will arm and activate their right to self defence if northern youth take the step of killing Igbos. Someone's got to retaliate for those killings you know that just how Nigeria works. |
investnow2013:If our people in other places begin to think along the lines of this initiative then we have redeemed our years of silliness. I don't know if Calabar port is working, but at least, those into importation can route through ONNE port and have their head office in PH, Aba, Enugu, onitsha or Uyo. Those into manufacturing can route through ONNE port and have their corporate headquarters anywhere in the zone. if our people begin to relocate into the zone, more international flights will land in both Enugu and port harcourt due to increased volume of business. Eventually more Intl. airports in the zone will begin functioning by having enough passengers to sustain operations if our people use facilities their zone. If Akwa Ibom Ibaka port is functional, they can also begin to use it. In time, our people will have been able to relocate their businesses to the safety of their region. The sad thing is that none of our people like to think sensibly nor act proactively unless it is already too late, in an emergency, or they are already in a crisis and losing half or all of their investments in those hostile places. So i don't expect them to see the wisdom of using the facilities in the SE and SS and relocate NOW, until their businesses are being burnt or taxed disproportionately by hostile folks in the north and southwest. |

spyder880:Good job Syder. One wishes the government will properly re-design the ninth mile flyover to freely take traffic from the express and divert traffic going to Enugu. The way the flyover was designed is weird and so difficult to even figure out how to use if from the Enugu-Onitsha expressway |
investnow2013:Wish i could give you a million likes for that cement or stones idea for roads. Use of asphalt cannot solve the intra city road problems in Anambra because it is very expensive and not durable for the heavy traffic inside Anambra cities. Cement concrete roads with gutters, will make all the difference if they are well built with steel rods reinforcements. Once built with gutters at the side, they last a thousand years with little or no maintenance. We should ALWAYS think outside the box for innovative ideas, instead of always a copycat tailor made solution that has never worked well for our clime. |
Anambra past governments have truly not helped our cities to be planned and habitable spaces. We abandoned the crucial job of city planning to estate developing traders, which is why our cities look deplorable in spite of the fine modern buildings. Some streets have no space for two cars to pass side by side. This is truly sad. We need to imbibe the culture of planning our cities and not indiscriminate haphazard construction of buildings as we currently have it.. |
Anambra Infrastructure: Obiano Empowers 150 Youths Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has put together 150 youths from across the three senatorial zones of the state to handle a daily road maintenance project. The youths were fully trained and equipped to see to the maintenance of roads in all the streets and towns in Anambra State in south-east Nigeria. Speaking at an event in Awka, Governor Obiano said that the initiative was to enhance good roads and safety of lives. He added that it would also extend the life span of vehicles plying the roads, stressing that there would not be jerks and bumps. The Governor promised that the youths would be adequately remunerated, but he reminded them to work diligently. He called on the 21 Local government administrations to be involved and give their support to the youths to make the laudable project work. Governor Obiano also stressed that the project would be beneficial to the citizens of the state. He also inspected the mode of operation to ascertain the professionalism of the workers. After the inspection, he expressed satisfaction with their performance. In his speech, the Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area, Azubuike Iloh, said the project would elevate the state to having the best of roads when fully operational at a minimum cost. The Commissioner for Works, Lawrence Chinwuba, also told the gathering that the project would help in the area of youth empowerment. To ensure a smooth take off, the Anambra State government also procured different equipment to tackle the job headlong from the simple tools of barrows, head pans and rakes, to the mechanised equipment of cutters, cement mixers, buses, tankers and earth-moving machines. http://www.channelstv.com/2015/11/25/anambra-infrastructure-obiano-empowers-150-youths/
This is a great move towards solving the problem of our streets looking horrible. I wish they can teach the boys how to make concrete roads or use of interlocking bricks to make roads.Concrete roads last longer, does not require heavy complicated machines to make and requires a couple of men to pave.

CFCfan:it will be hard for them to get direct seasonal flight from USA to Enugu.Especially with the type of tribalists now running nigeria. In my last trip to Nigeria, i put Enugu as my final destination. I decided not to go through Addis Ababa, so i used Lufthansa. It flew from Atlanta to frankfurt, then to Abuja and then they transferred me into local Arik flight from Abuja to Enugu. All for $1,500 dollars round trip! it was a great deal for me because my family picked me up at Enugu Intl. airport and we were in the village within 2 hours! (I hate using local Nigeria based airline flights, but i prayed hard for that Arik section of my trip from Abuja to Enugu ) So,one can definitely put "Enugu" as your final destination, then choose the itinerary which best suits you. Of course, you will see the Ethiopian option which routes via Addis Ababa to Enugu as one of your cheapest options.I'm sure travelling from Europe will be about the same options. |
patrick89:We live in the rain forest belt where trees and grass grow very well. There is no reason why we should not aspire to make our library environment conducive and up to international standard. The pictures below are from an LGA library close to my house. (Not even a State owned library). Apart from the structure being bigger than our state's Kenneth Dike Library, Awka, they took time to plant trees, grass and flowers in the environment to make it conducive. That is what it should be, and that is what we must aspire to do things properly.

Although fighting to the death is good, Actualizing Biafra isn't about dying for it, It is about making the Arewa youths die for Nigeria they enjoy so much.

investnow2013:I wish Obijackson will use part of the land he acquired to also build a truly world class university there. Even though it will be close to Madonna university, but, we need world class institution and university in Anambra, which will be affiliated to a university in USA or Canada.Like Atiku was able to do in creating an American university in Yola. |
NOBLEDANDY:Exactly! |
What does Peter Obi want?? He is the first Anambra governor to get 2 terms and he isn't satisfied. After many scandalous ways he spent state funds by dashing money to private organizations. Yet, we supported him. He has completed the constitutional 2 terms, Why is he bitter that someone else is the governor? Peter Obi should be told that his attempt to play "Obasanjo" in Igboland will be futile and resisted if need be. |
Those Igbos that fail to listen should only blame themselves when ab0kis descend on them. We shall retaliate your deaths on ab0kis two times more, but it will be better to leave the north NOW!!!...and save your lives. |
Ibelong2God:They will even ruin the economy more as they continue body language economic policies. Na dem sabi. Nigerians would rather live a miserable life than jettison tribalism. Therefore, we deserve the suffering in Nigeria |
