I need your advice , I am in the process of writing my Research Proposal due next year February for my Masters programme. If my proposal gets a thumbs up, funding in a form of a Scholarship is guaranteed. But there are condition on this funding, that I work for the funder for the period of two year.

Sincerely speaking, I wanted to do my Masters programme at one of the two American Universities I have shortlisted. Though I have not received any response for my application. If I receive a positive response, I surely want to leave SA for any of those two American Universities.

Not that SA universities are bad, but its just that the two University in US that I have shortlisted, their programme is structured in a way that will really add value as it focuses on alot than focusing on just Thesis. In short the programme is outstanding.
The downside is that that their Masters is combined with Phd, so you do not graduate until you finish the four years and achieve your Masters + Phd + professional registration over four year period.

Whereas in SA, its not combined, once I finish my Masters in two years I can graduate and apply for professional registration and work.

The SA programme is better in a sense that If I my personal circumstances ( marriage, pregnancy etc ) change, I can still work with my Masters and professional registration and park Phd ( though time waits for no Joe )

Now I am worried that if I take the funding next year and later receive a response from one of those US universities, I might have a problem with abandoning the Scholarship and breach their contract because of the conditions on the contract ( which is work for them for two years after completing the programme )


Has anyone ever breached conditions of his Scholarship What are the possible consequences if you breach the contract?

I once dated one, he thought he was gonna play me when we started. I changed my plan, made him hooked to me. I played him so hard, he cried. But still wanted more ( probably wanted to revenge ). I gave him that opportunity but played him harder this time. After I was done I told him I am engaged. So he must stop bothering me.

In short I beat him at his stupid game. He never achieved what he thought he was gonna achieve. . I left with my cookie in tact and my dignity in tact.

Nice one OP, alot of people never realise that they are depressed and they need help

Two that I also found practically common though was part of older DSM but not current applicable DSM

1) Lack of personal hygiene ( they just become enemies with water) and cleanliness

One guy , I recently saw, he never takes a bath for no less than 3 months, and when he eventually does, everything has to stop, because he take his bath for the whole day. . His mother/ or family have to quickly clean his filthy room while he takes a bath. Meaning his room get a cleaning as much as his baths. Unbelievable, very bright student he was a medical student who dropped out on his 6th year, just 1 year before completion. He is currently studying Actual Science through distance education
He has been depressed for more than 10 years. Now Depressed with possible Schizophrenia. Impossible to assess, very aggressive and unfriendly type

2) They also like dark spaces ( their room curtains will always be closed, day and night, sunny or raining ). Dark is light for them.

Again people should realise that PTSD ( Post Traumatic STress disorder ), which is stress after a stressful event like death, highjacking etc. can trigger Depression. So if someone had PTSD, very likely they may lapse into depression.
