Hey Doc

I had two operations in the past for "Ovarian Cyst" .

1) First one had ruptured, so I did an emergency op.

2) Second one was just too big. I was put on anti-biotics for some weeks, went to measure it, it was still big, so I had to do second op.

Both had a difference of three years between diagnoses/operations. Since then, I have had quiet a few, though I have refused to go for another op, choosing to ignore them and carry on with life. Also forgot to mention that I also refused contraception's, I hate them with a passion. angry angry

Are there any dangers when I choose to ignore themhuh
Are my chances of easy conception reduced because of my "cyst " historyhuh Have never tried for a baby up to so far.

Whats up with this recurring? Why? what can I stop doing or start doing to stop them?

Forgot to say both ops were major ops, not laparascopy, so the thought of going for another major, just makes me wanna relocate to the North Pole, hence I ignore them these days.

pro01: Na only for struggling guys or N105,000/ month salary earner for Union Bank una dey sabii follow those rules with.

Would you even contemplate any of these B.S if you're married to the typical Ikoyi 'big boy', let alone a governor or any influential/wealthy man?
Why not. All I know is that I can never put in myself in a situation where I am financially powerless and dependent. I will walk into marriage with my power, if all comes to a push I will still leave with my power.

All depends on how you handle your situation in the beginning. Never will I leave my papa house without a clear plan. Whether I marry a Union Bank guy, a fisherman or a Governor of governors

Powerless to such an extent that I cannot walk away because I soley depend on one maggothuhhuh? wink wink wink wink Financial inability makes woman stay in abusive relationships even if they want to walk away. It also exacerbate the abuse because the man knows you soley depend on him.

fender: I'm sure @OP quite understands that there are times and situations in which you have to speak to someone or share especially in abusive relationships, hence the reason he didn't include such in the list.
Well the interpretation of the article is that talking is a "NO NO"

Not only should you talk when you are abused, even when you are facing a challenge which is not of an abusive nature. Talking is human nature, hence solitary confinement makes us go mad.

salt 1: If there are issues you can't discuss with your FRIENDS for fear of snatching, should you keep those friends in the first place?

People need to offload on someone. Sorrow is easier to bear when shared and joy is multiplied when another person is happy with you.
I don't agree with this op at all. This is the mentality that keeps women in abusive relationships: don't let people know what's going on between us! This is wrong and sometimes things go way tooo wrong!

Instead of keeping packs of friends whom you're suspicious of, keep just a few who can laugh with you and cry with you. A friend on whose shoulders you can put your head and who loves you.
Posts like this is very disturbing
You had me nodding there. I agree with you 10 mill%. People need to offload. You cant carry the baggage alone.

Though my approach is different, I use strangers to offload critical stuff ,and I use my friends and family to share a little, but I agree with you wink wink wink wink

masonkz: LMAOOO grin grin grin

On a serious note, sorry about the whole thing. We live double lives cos the society we live in wants us to be so. If you remain long without a gf, they start talking all kinds of rubbish behind your back. If they learn you're gay, that becomes the height of it all. Everyone would start looking at you with disgust.

So MANY gay men in Nigeria end up having "girlfriends" when they get to a certain age. Mostly cos they don't want people suspecting them of being gay anyway.

That's one reason gay people need to be recognised in our society, so that they won't be a need for a double life. The more we feel threatened by the society, the more we try as much to blend in. But we all know that no amount of girlfriend in this world can stop a gay man from being gay.

I'm not supporting the guy for what he did anyway. I don't have a girlfriend myself. Just looking at it from his point of view.

I'm sure you'll get someone more deserving of your sweet personality, that's if you don't have one yet. smiley
Its funny because he used to condemn gays and say all sorts of things. Meanwhile I would support them and tell him that the society should let gays be. smiley smiley smiley smiley

When I found out, it was hard grin grin grin grin grin I never suspected anything since he is also Nigerian as well, so I thought, well he is Nigerian, he cant be gay. Nigerians hate gays smiley smiley smiley smiley.

Very sweet person, never suspected him of anything. We use to share phones, laptops, space, pin for bank cards, and just comfortable to be with, he was just an open book, but not open enough. cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

RomanceRe: Things You Must Not Tell About Your Relationship by chineloSA(f): 7:40pm On Oct 28, 2013
Its very true especially fights and secrets. When you share fights you may forgive and move on. And your family, friends etc. will still hold on to what you told them about your partner.

Then again all human beings need to off load. Its part of the process to maintain your sanity. Not all of us can afford therapy or have the means to get therapy.

In such cases, that's why Nairaland and others comes handy for me. I get to offload and be myself at the same time be faceless. smiley smiley smiley

I prefer such medias than family, friends and colleagues and pastors/ priests. At the end of it all I still maintain my "SANITY" cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy
EducationRe: How Do Schools Help Children With Attention Problems (ADD) by chineloSA(f):
tensor777: Truth be told if your son acts up in a class in Nigeria he will simply be severely and ruthlessly dealt with whether in a public or 'private' school. After all said and done this is much better than the internal or external exclusion of troublesome pupils from mainstream education that happens in American or English schools.
Her son seems like he has the ADHD which is the calm type. Very little or no trouble at all. Just attention issues. Those one normally daydream, confused, drowsy, lack attention, learning disorder and normally socially withdrawn ( hence possibility of comorbid depression ).

So he is not on the Hyperactive and Impulsive category which are always troublesome. The only problem is low academic achievement due to lack of attention and failure to carry out simple instructions.

When people think of an ADHD child what comes to mind is a rowdy, unruly, troublesome and hooligan like type of a child.

There is a difference. I get worried when people talk violence.

ADHD is different. smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley

Lynn48: simple question - how do you think we know he has this condition? You think we just decided he has it because we were bored? You don't think we ever saw ANY professionals? I won't bother to tell you how many we in fact saw to confirm & reconfirm. Well, thanks for your input
Eaasssy mama, I never said you never consulted a professional. I said go back to that professional who did that diagnoses, because its clear, that you don't have a clear understanding of your sons condition.

That ''PROFESSIONAL" needs to refer you for classes, as you will not get any support in Nigeria.

If you don't know that ADHD-PI and ADD are the same, than you don't know much about your sons condition undecided undecided undecided undecided

I say all of this because I work with them. So I know what goes on. I am not attacking you at all. I am just advising. You can take my advice or you may leave it, I am not going to hold a gun against your head smiley smiley smiley
EducationRe: How Do Schools Help Children With Attention Problems (ADD) by chineloSA(f): 7:21pm On Oct 27, 2013
Lynn48: actually ADD is different from ADHD. He only has focus issues, not behavioral hyperactivity problems.
Sweetheart, I do not think you understand the condition that your child has.

ADD and ADHD - PI are the same.

As I indicated above there are three types of ADHD and your son seem to fall under ADHD - PI ( Predominantly Inattentive). Yes they are not hyperactive and impulsive like the other two, but they normally have depression as a comorbid condition.

So you may think your son is better, only to discover that he has been depressed.

I suggest before you leave the US, go to a psychologist or psychiatrist who did a diagnosis for your son. Ask that they refer you to parent support classes, If you don't know that they are the same I do not think you went through parental support classes on how to deal with children with this condition ( which is compulsory for Retalin ( most commonly used) / or any antidepressant prescribed patients )

Not sure about US, but this side if you diagnose ADHD and prescribe Retalin its compulsory to go for classes and also get continuous support when you start treatment

You will not get the parental support in Nigeria. After more understanding I am sure the severity as per the discussion with your therapist will determine if you enrol your child in a normal school or special school.

But jumping into special school enrolment just like that, will not be the best option for your son. undecided undecided undecided undecided
