Pls how can I change my NL email? I used my primary address
umarwy:
Yep that's why security through obscurity is a thing.

Once an attacker know what to attack, half the job is done. Targeted phishing and brute force attacks can ensuite.

This one niaraland doesn't have 2fa, the day your NL email gets to the wrong hands wonders shall happen

[quote author=duchess90 post=91625066]Hi @ekaita

If you haven't gotten a proper and direct answer, speak to other students in these schools because the questions you are asking are general questions that undergrads and postgrads can answer , if there's a WhatsApp forum for these schools join in,if they have Ambassadors speak to them.

Addressing a few more, 1.You can modify details of your PhD study along the way 2. Systems are in place in schools to check if your supervisor is a racist or isn't supportive enough 3. Most PhD programs have more than one supervisor ( a primary and a co-supervisior) 4. You need a good rapport with your supervisor yes, but you call the shots because it is your research, the first year they help to guide,2nd year you are at par,3rd year it is your show 5.Doing your PhD doesn't limit your opportunity to get a job, for one thing it gives you a foot into the academia if you are interested in that field. 6.The grading for PhD is not same for masters( this one na another day talk)

Doing a PhD I agree is very stressful but if it is what you want don't let anyone here discourage you

Again if there are other things I can share from my study experience so far..please send an email i'll respond.

Cheers

Thanks so much Duchess my respect goes to you. Pls don't be discouraged by a few irresponsible nairalanders from doing your best to help with information. I truly appreciate your kindness. I guess the OP will be contacting you privately to avoid further show of shame here.

Once again, thank you.

Nay Sayers will always say it's impossible even when someone is doing it right before their eyes. Are you a PhD Student? How can you state experiences you have not encountered. Honestly we should say positive things or Waka pass.
hosey:
Unlike Masters, PhD is more about your prospective supervisor reputation, your research ability and institution research record.

If your goal is working, do another Masters as you can get PSW.

PhD is no child play and you may not have time to work and you will always be on toes 3 to 4 years. You also need to raise 3 years tuition.

Personally, I cant advise anyone to use his or her money for PhD. The time, finance and stress does not worth it.

Only do PhD if you love research and you obtained scholarship. If you are doing PhD for having a better career, it does not worth it.

Do Masters since you are all about work opportunities.

Wao. This one got me. So sorry about your husband. I pray God will lead you into the right decisions. I am so speechless right now but please accept my condolences and I suggest you try your best to be with your kids, they need you as much as you need them now more than ever. And don't fail to share any future challenges, who knows someone here might have the right solutions. Be strong dear sister!

LagosNIV:
Hello Chinlov,

You would have been informed verbally and in writing at the time of your interview if there was a permanent ineligibility. If you were not informed of such a ban, then you were most likely refused under section 214b of the INA. A 214b refusal cannot be appealed.
good evening Sir. Yes it was 214b both times but if I attempt again I may be handed the same refusal under 214b. I was not told the reason but I'm inclined to think it was due to my birthing a baby there, without prior declaration of that intension

Please Sir how do I make progress from here. I don't plan to appeal, I plan to reapply but scared of adding another refusal to my records. I will appreciate any guide on what I can do to ameloriate my past mistake.

Thank you.
TravelRe: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening Pt 2 by Chinlov: 11:37pm On Feb 23, 2019
Sir, I have been denied visa twice. In 2017 and just this month. I realized that not telling the VO during my interview in 2012 that I was pregnant and intending to have my baby in the US was a crime.
My question is how do I remedy my situation? Have I been banned? How do I find a way out of this mistake.

A colleague suggested I hire an immigration lawyer. Is that OK? I wouldn't want to compound my case.

Thanks so much for your time and help
