wow, big congratulations. delay is not denial
5gee:
I got my ILR.
10 year route
1 year - Student visa
5 years + tier 2
4 years Spousal/partner
Hopefully I will get my passport in January. Then I can start applying for jobs abroad.
I did not apply for my ILR on tier 2 because I was naive. I was at risk of redundancy with barely 2 months to my ILR and the company wouldn't give me a letter without stating that I was at risk. I didn't feel comfortable applying with that on the letter so I canceled my appointment and when I failed to get another sponsor and not enough time to find a decent job in Nigeria, I applied for a spousal visa which reset my timeline.
In hindsight, I should have applied and I would have been granted it, saving me thousands of pounds in application fees and NHS surcharge. More painful is the fact that I had considered moving back home in the earlier years but got to the point where going back without at least ILR was not logical. Hopefully I find a good role back home or somewhere near grin, Amen.

Honestly, God bless you exceptional Nigerians that come here to give out invaluable info for free.

Many many thanks!

Irenenwaka:
Please thats a false info…I really wanted to get into IT.

i just got an apprenticeship as a data analyst nd i dont have ILR.

Things to note:
1. Yu need to have been resident in the uk for min 3 years.
2. No age restrictions
3. The apprenticeship market can be quite competitive so be ready for drills nd for most companies an assessment centre.
4. You must not possess a qualification at the same level or higher than the apprenticeship u want to do in a related field. For example you can’t do an apprenticeship in engineering (lv3/4)when you have a bsc in engineering (lv 6)

5. There are majorly 4 apprenticeship levels
Lv 3- equivalent to a levels
Levl 4- equivalent to foundation year at uni
Level 5/6- equivalent to degree
Level 7- equivalent to masters degree

Sister please how do we get more info on the apprentiship thing. someone I asked said its only for those with ILR is that right?

thanks for the enlightenment

You people are not playing with this new part at all and now made me catch up after several days of reading through more than 40 pages. I will not dissappear and miss hot gist again oo.

Welcome back @Aphrodite007, we missed ya and glad you are doing great.

Thanks for your message on celebrating Little wins, saw it at a good time and we really do get overwhelmed amongst everything else.

I also thought @dustydee was a woman oo , maybe it's Shim sha

Missed the argument from our Mr Alaba intl importer exporter of drugs, some very funny responses that made my day.

Always a pleasure reading through @Ticha post omo, semi-retire at 50. We don bookmark the post and hopefully save enough to venture into it.

I want to add Engineering to the list of lucrative courses people can focus on asides IT and medics. It is a really lucrative industry, with loads of opportunities, although the salary return may not be as high as some IT roles. Lets also encourage our kids, nieces, nephew etc to study Engineering related courses, I am forever grateful to the person that pushed me to Quantity surveying.

There are lots of Engineeringcompanies offering apprenticeship roles with starting salary of 22k with benefit (for 2/3days at work) and still pay their Tuition. Basically, they are not saddled with student loans and still have good savings once done. I have seen 2 black kids in my coy blow up this opportunity on youthful exuberance.

Oga beryour i dey watch you oo, seems you wan port away from Engineering with all this tech analysis and abandon me, issokay oo

Reading through all the posts and seeing iboboyswag situation get resolved pages later was quite motivating and should be a lesson to people creating groups outside NL on whatsapp, seun really did strike gold, make he just increase some of its functionality.

Glad it all worked out @iboboyswag I can imagine the dilemma you and the family went through, the fear of UKVI ehn.

@akorkor having issues with that email and glad you asked your question on here and got better suggestions and help that I may not have been able to offer privately.

It's not all traders on Etoro, one copies ............ grin Some of them are drunken sailors, navigating a ship........

You check their risk score and types of assets they trade ...........

When copying, best to leave funds long term ......

Traders have colour coded stars on their profiles, black been the best aka Pro ........

Some rookies too are good, hence reading their profiles........

I have no forex trading skills, but someone I am copying is a professional forex trader...... I can see the pairs he trades, I simply copy and paste too on my personal portfolio, and close trade when my target is hit....... Collect my money and re enter position with same capital, less profits ........... grin

Pls sir, who are you copying? I will like to copy you copying him.....

But it sends a dangerous message....

The girl is British (born and raised ) and never had another passport . To think the government got away with passing her off to another country or making her stateless is troubling .
she can always get another passport. IMHO, Being British or citizen of any country should show in your allegiance to that country. She was born here but choose the ideals of another country and so she should be let off to practice her beliefs which obviously run parallel to British. And then be free to acquire the passport of any country she feels more in sync with. Very simple

On second thoughts, I'm thinking maybe the husband played by the books and processed visa for the whole family but withheld hers and left with it. However she can still petition the High commissioner. An immigration lawyer will advise better. I feel her pain
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Chinlov: 10:01pm On Dec 26, 2020
[The little I know, no one parent can travel to the UK without the other's consent. Which is usually a sworn affidavit unless the other parent is dead or the one with the kids have sole custody after a divorce. She should get a lawyer and write to the British High commissioner. She can even do it by herself but she needs to articulate her points well. With evidence of marriage and birth of her children. If she is sure she has not mistakenly signed consent to him o. My 2p

How much is the training.....£80 ?.

If yes then why not... there are not many options for student jobs these days due to lockdown up and down ... if you need the cash then hold on to what available until the desirable becomes available
thanks so much for your response. The training plus tax is 118 but like you said it appears to be the desirable for now. Thanks
