LaReinaa:If you don't know where the rain started beating you, it will be difficult for you to know where it will stop. History is very important in this country in order not to go back to where we were coming from. The wicked government is everywhere, starting from the families to the FG. What are our LG chairmen and state governors doing with the huge allocations they collect monthly plus their IGR? Even if FG is not doing anything, states and LGAs can alleviate the suffering if they decide to. States and LGAs control over 60% of the country's allocations. Every bad politician should be punished irrespective of their parties. We have them in all the parties. Let us not pretend that they are only in Abuja or APC |
LaReinaa:I don't belong to any political party. I am just calling for fairness. If you don't know your past, you won't appreciate your present and plan for your future. |
bigfish3k:You need to go back to your parents for home training. You seem to lack a good home training by your choice of words. If we are sincere, there has been a huge progress from where we were coming from. I once participated I election as an adhoc staff and before we submitted our ballot boxes and result sheets, they had already started announcing the results. We didn't know that the materials given to us were fake. In many PDP states, especially in the east, there has never been election since 1999 till date. All they do is selection. Once the PDP cabals share the positions among themselves, on the election day, they will write the results accordingly. The same goes to LG elections. APC members are not saints either. The same thing go on in states they control. My submission is that the punishment should go round and not only to a particular party. They are all the same. |
It is obvious US and UK representatives in Nigeria are working for PDP. I wonder where they were when Fayose turned to military commander in Ekiti during Jonathan's regime. Even when Wike used thugs and Mbu, the then police commissioner, to be disrupting APC campaigns and killing people at will during Jonathan's regime. I am yet to hear any ban or sanction on any of these PDP actors. Whatever APC is doing today, PDP has done it 100 times when they were in power and will even do more, if given the power again. |
Caller : Is this INEC office? Official : Yes sir. Caller : How prepared are you for the Edo and Ondo Elections? Official : Sir, as I speak to you everything is ready..Including the results |
2023 strategy! Laying siege against Ekweremadu and trying to maneuver Ugwuanyi and impose a successor on him. Only if Ugwuanyi will be smart enough. The fight will be interesting as PDP is no longer at the center to call for a truce. Fight to finish! |
yaki84:Please visit these Eastern states, especially Abia and comeback to edit this your post. At least, in those western states, it was not easy for APC to win. It was very competitive and a narrow escape for them. |
Rgade:Please always do your research well, so you would be well informed. History helps us to know our past for the good of today and future. Moving the Adada campus back to it's original zone is not just to right the wrong of Chimaroke but to move the institution to a more spacious place for expansion. If you know Parklan well, you will agree with me that the place is not spacious enough for other new medical faculties that are coming up in the college of medicine. Meanwhile, nobody is closing Parklane. It will still be there as a tertiary hospital. |
Oracleforce:This is how elections should be, unlike the selections in Enugu, Ebonyi and Abia states. In those states, once you are selected by the PDP cabals, go and sleep, you have already won. Even if you are a devil and other party candidates are saints, they will still vote for you because of PDP that never did anything for the region. |
Rgade:It seems you don't know much about Enugu state. Before the creation of Enugu state, we all were in Anambra state. The old Anambra state was made up of Abakaliki, Awka, Enugu, Nsukka, Nnewi and Onitsha. Old Enugu state was then created from the Anambra state. The old Enugu state was made up of Abakaliki, Enugu and Nsukka zones. In 1996, Abakaliki and Afikpo (from then Abia state) became the present Ebonyi state, leaving Enugu and Nsukka as the present Enugu state. The then Enugu zone was made up of Enugu north, Enugu south, Enugu east, Udi, Oji-river, Aninri, Awgu, Nkanu East, Nkanu west and Ezeagu while Nsukka zone was Igbo-eze south, Igbo-eze north, Nsukka, Isi-uzo, Igbo-etiti, Udenu and Uzo uwani. That is Enugu zone with 10 LGAs and Nsukka zone with 7 LGAs, though the Nsukka zone has bigger land mass and over 60% of the population. Enugu zone was then divided into two new zones - Enugu west and Enugu east senatorial zones with Isi-uzo from Nsukka zone joining them while the old Nsukka zone remained Enugu north with exception of Isi-Uzo. Apart from some faculties of UNN in Nsukka, every other federal and state facilities have remained in Enugu East and west senatorial zones, leaving Nsukka zone with higher population with nothing. The college of medicine that has been in Nsukka zone since when we were still in old Anambra state was wickedly moved to Enugu by Chimaroke. YOU GET THE POINT NOW!!! This is called injustice. Ugwuanyi only restored the original Esut plan. |
Awol1:Note that this college of medicine has always been in Nsukka zone, Adada campus right from the time ESUT was still ASUTECH. It was Chimaroke that moved it to Parkland and moved the main campus from Enugu to his village, Agbani. Ugwuanyi is just restoring this campus that was originally in Nsukka zone. Esut history will also be of help to you. |
Enuguplkln:If it is true, then Nsukka should be given more attention in terms of development. They need more infrastructure than any other part of the state, considering the fact that they even have over 60% of the population of Enugu state and bigger land mass as well. This is justifiable. |
Awol1:For your information, the project is not in Nsukka LGA. It is in Udenu and Igbo-Eze south LGAs. Each of these two LGAs is bigger than Ezeagu LGA. Map of Enugu state will be of great help to you. |
fefenoble88:But a northern woman has been the minister of Education before and the current finance minister is a northern woman too. These positions are far above VC |
GudluckIBB:You make it sound as if it was a gender competition. Whenever a female gets appointment, you guys will start raising gender cards. For me, most of these appointments were based on merit, hardworking and godfatherism. Anybody that merits and work hard for a post should have it. Let us not be too emotional and sentimental over everything. Intelligence and hardworking have nothing to do with gender. Our common problem should be godfatherism and not gender. Those occupying political positions today got the posts not necessarily because of their gender but because they are linked to the few cabals that controls the country. If you like, let your manhood be the longest. If you don't have a godfather, nothing for you. |
Amah70:Your shame dey shame me. When Abakaliki and Uburu people praise Umahi, Afikpo person that has not seen light since 2015 will also praise him. At least Afikpo was having light when they were in Abia. Afikpo is an ancient town that was opened up far before they joined Ebonyi. The new things in Afikpo in this administration are the substandard concrete roads that wears away ones tyres within a month and total blackouts. Ebonyi state is now only Spera in deo, Udensi, Presco roundabouts and Uburu. You are celebrating the substandard flyovers and disco lights in those roundabouts and remain in perpetual darkness. Wake up! |
GreenKalada:Government needs to sit-up. Our laws need to be reviewed urgently to meet the current realities. We cannot be subsidizing our education for other countries. If it must be subsidized, then you must work in the country for a certain number of years before you can migrate. Alternatively, we remove the subsidy and use the money saved to improve on our standards - improving our educational standards, equipping our hospitals and taking care of the staff welfare. This is what most countries, even Ghana here does. Imagine Ghana taxing foreigners a million dollars to have a shop. This is just to preserve the businesses for their citizens. |
McCoy662:Your own is better. In Afikpo, the suffering has been like hell since 2015. In fact, anybody that survived in Afikpo Ebonyi state from 2015 till date can survive even in hell. The microwave I bought since 2015 has been in the carton rusting till date. The light comes like in average of once in two months for those that do not have transformer issues. For those of us using the same transformer with the LG secretariat, since 2015 we have not seen light for a second. A whole local government has been unable to restore their transformer for about six years now. I do not know what they are doing with their allocation that should be close to a hundred million monthly. #restoreafikpolight |
Do they have such powers? I think the president that appointed him should be the one to remove him. |
Truth is bitter and we forget so soon. We all know how it used to be. A junior minister used the police and army to grab power in Rivers state. It also happend in Ekiti and many other states. I once participated in conducting elections during PDP era as an INEC adhoc staff. Before we got to the collation center, the army had taken over the place. We didn't even know that the materials given to us for the elections were fake. They were at the collation center with the original materials writing results. We were still with our result sheets and ballot boxes when we started hearing the results over the radio. This is still happening in many PDP states. What they do is selection and not election. Once you are selected as a PDP candidate, you are there. I can tell you that there has been no election since 1999 in many states. Let us tell ourselves the bitter truth! |
Oshi ashua!!! If you know you know |
Akube1z:Then we have few or no christian in Nigeria. |
This is terrible and rampant these days. It seems our forefathers were wiser than us. We accepted monogamy and it is now dealing with us. Woman is now the head of house while man is like a houseboy. It is high time we reintroduced polygamy with family planing. If you have many wives, this Nigerian feminist madness will stop. They will be struggling among themselves who will take care of you. |
humilitypays:They are confused. If you like, take up their responsibilities, they must still nag. What do they really want? |
Sixfeetbelle:Compare the children raised by single mothers and ones raised by both parents and see the difference. Also, ask the single mothers what they pass through raising a family without a man. Money is not everything, a man's presence means a lot for the children upbringing and even the mothers |
Palema007:May God not allow women to be breadwinners. Any man being fed by a woman is in hell. Fear women! Women's money belongs to them alone while the men's is for the entire family. Men go and hustle, do not depend on women for your own life. If a woman feeds you for a week, the whole world must hear it and you will be treated and addressed as a dog. May God bless men's hustles, so they can always provide and take care of their families without waiting for their wives Women will remind you that their simple responsibilities - cooking and taking care of the house, are slavery because you are poor. If you are rich they will not complain. I wish the roles could even be swapped. Be providing and be in charge of the family responsibilities let me be cooking. |
mrchineke:If you fail to train you children, they will be a disappointment and a source of depression to you. Teach a child the way he should go and he will remember it all his life. Prov 22:6. My parents are proud of me till tomorrow because of the way they trained me. |
Asour:In life, you have to balance things. Don't pursue money and leave marriage and don't marry and forget money. Both are necessary. If you are of the age, marry and keep hustling. Regulate the number of children you will bear according to your financial capability. |
Gerrard59:Money is not everything. By the time you are old or sick, you will understand that family really matters. Also, having a family doesn't stop one from making more money and investments |
emmanuelewumi:Getting married early enough is one of the good legacies you can give to your children, so you can train them well. Don't train your kids as a pensioner. Getting married doesn't stop you from working hard and keeping legacies for your family. If you have a source of income and are up to age, marry. Don't wait till 60 before you marry. Waiting till 60 is not a guarantee that money will come. |
It's a very serious issue. My wife was among the 58 doctors who were refused travel last month, but she finally travelled 2 weeks ago to London by flight with some others provided by their employer. I'm now left with my 2 children hoping to join her soon. I feel bad for this country because what will now happen to the common man out there if all the qualified doctors leave!!
