Ugwuoke347: Your mind is clearly in negative mode: See no good; speak no good. These places I mentioned all have visible evidence of seriousness in governance. If you cannot see them, then you need help. I will not reply you again. You would have listed the projects you saw, outside the substandard concrete roads. I live in Afikpo and I have been paying about 50k tax monthly to the state government, yet I spend over 30k burning fuel monthly to provide electricity for myself. After paying the tax, I provide electricity, water and other amenities by myself and people are praising him for enriching himself through the concrete projects. |

Ugwuoke347: I owe you no explanation. And yet I will oblige you with the detail you seek.
I have been to the following places:
Afikpo North and South. Abakaliki. Ohaozara. Ezza South. Ishielu. Ebonyi. Onisha.
They are all LGAs in Ebonyi State. And what are the projects you saw apart from substandard concrete roads without asphalt? Are you aware that Afikpo north, Afikpo south, Ohaozara, Ivo, etc have no electricity since 2015? Afikpo north with monthly allocation of about 100 million has been unable to fix the electric transformer inside their premises since 2014 because governor is using their allocations to develop Abakaliki? Afikpo suppose to be the second city in the state but the place is now a ghost of itself. Everybody there is now relocating to Abakaliki because life is no longer bearable there. Apart from Ohaozara, his LG that he moved the state teaching hospital and school of nursing to, which other projects did you see in those LGAs? |

Ugwuoke347: You have just said what any sensible person who knows Enugu very well should say. Gburugburu has certainly tried. As in he has tried to keep things on an average routine level. The pace of growth is certainly not as aggressive as Umahi's. Yet, it would be insincere for anyone to go on an all-out condemnation of his administration.
Ebonyi State right now is the darling state in Igboland. I have personally toured Umahi's Ebonyi and I can tell you for free that whatever Ugwuanyi has achieved in Enugu State immediately pales into shadows when placed side-by-side with the kind of things Dave Umahi has wrought in Ebonyi. And yet Enugu earns more than Ebonyi in both federal allocation and internally generated revenue. On a scale of 10, Gburugburu should be given 5 marks. That's fair enough. Where did you visit in Ebonyi when you toured the state? Outside Abakaliki, where other places did you tour? What are the developments in Ebonyi? Is it the substandard concrete roads (that wears off new tires in a month) and unnecessary substandard flyovers, being planned, executed and supervised alone by the governor? Even the materials are sourced by him alone, thereby monopolizing every economic activity in the state. It's high time we realized that states are not just few local governments that make up the state capitals. Ebonyi has 13 LGAs but only Abakaliki and Ebonyi LGAs are taking over 90% of the developmental projects while the remaining majority are given little or no projects. Worse still, these neglected LGAs' allocations are being used by the governor to develop only the state capital. People in Enugu city (made up of three LGAs) feel that Enugu state is just the capital city. Forgetting that the state is made up of 17 LGAs. Sullivan concentrated mainly on the capital city and people there want the trend to continue. Governors should try and balance their projects and not developing only the state capitals. |

If you know you won't have any responsibility in life and all money you make is for you and you alone till the end of time, then be a slave.
Just be a master first and don't worry about others yet. God and destiny play a lot in who becomes a master or a slave. It is not by intelligence or hardworking or smartness or even background. Many had great dreams but got frustrated by JAMB, labour market, etc. If you are lucky, don't take the less fortunate as dull or lazy. Many of them are actually smarter and more hardworking than you. For instance, how many that wanted to study professional courses were able to even gain the admission let alone graduating? It is only by his grace, we all know that it is better being the master |

They are not compatible. Money is not everything, besides the two parties are financially okay. Hence, money should play little or no role in their marriage.
The man should go for a lady that earns lesser than him in order to have peace in his marriage. The lady too should as well look for somebody at her level, that she can have respect for. The man should not be moved by money. He should look for who will be submissive to him and give him a peace of mind. |

He is actually trying compared to his peers. My support and loyalty will continue to be with him. However, I must point out areas that need to be improved upon to enable him finish well. Afikpo needs more attention, especially in the areas of electricity and other amenities, to restore it's glory as an ancient city and the best city in the state after Abakaliki. |

Topmaike007: and how can you certify your claim Maybe you don't live in Ehugbo and also far from home. When last did you see light in Ehugbo? Everybody is now relocating to Abakaliki, leaving Afikpo as a ghost town. Nothing like LG autonomy in the state. The governor still controls the allocations and uses it as he wishes. The chairmen are just there collecting salaries while the governor decides what to do with their allocations. Afikpo north cannot change the transformer in their premises. It went bad even before 2015 when the entire LG and Afikpo south LG stopped having electricity and till now the chairman cannot replace it. A transformer of less than 5 million naira and this is a LG that suppose to be getting about 100 million naira monthly from the FG. The allocation is being used to develop Abakaliki and Uburu, leaving Afikpo the supposed second city in the state to it's fate. |

Let me tell you that all the 13 LGAs in the state has steady streetlights and the entire villages are being connected with electricity. Should I talk about good quality roads that can last for 40 to 50 years? Should I talk about the water system, the pipelines, the safety tanks, etc. Should I go to education??... The fact remains that Ebonyi state and it's people hardly blow their own trumpet. Dave is a maradona when it comes to development and he beat all the entire Eastern governors. Please go to the hinterlands and see things for yourself. Dave is doing well in road construction and decorating Abakaliki streets but for electricity, education, human capital development, etc, he needs to step up. Since 2015 there has not been light in Afikpo, the second largest city in the state. This is not a joke. #restoreafikpolight |

LLobiorah: Indeed, Abakaliki shouldn't be the only major town in the state, however you should note that the state has designated the Afikpo, Ohaozara and Ivo, if I'm right about the later as revenue generating towns. And these towns perhaps, don't have light might be cause of the fact that Dave and TCN are aiming to develop another power plant to serve these areas, other than the one at the capital. I hope this issue would b e swiftly resolved.
Then on the ownership of properties,no doubt the politicians are mainly the rich around with properties, but I can tell the nouveau rich are gradually coming up. The changes are obvious, despite the fact that lots of the youths aren't as rich as compared to their counterparts in other states.
Truth be told, the educational standard of the schools are poor. I have to fault Dave here seriously, but that doesn't mean parents are not putting effort to send their kids to sch, at least the privates are filling the loophole left by the government. Also, I'm pretty sure you have seen the vocational sch opened by the state government. They are serious there, seen them assembling 'electrical keke', coz I wouldn't call that production. Though is not a cause for rejoicing nor a huge achievement to massage our ego. But the vocational school, would uplift and encourage the human capacity development you have said here, at least in its own little way.
Then you also have to align your thoughts, with what the lady has been saying in question. No sane investors would dare to invest, in a state without government providing major necessities. It ain't rocket science. I believe Dave maybe a failure in some stuffs, but in these so called 'cosmetic development', I'll give it up for him, as far as the end goal brings in investors.
P.S: Don't be impressed about my civility, is a normal thing out there amongst Ebonyians. That your previous chit chat fella, was uncivil doesn't mean we all are. I pray you, don't judge her. No sane human being, wouldn't wanna fight for his/her turf, when he/she has been always antagonized by others. I respect and appreciate your line of thoughts. Dave won my heart from the time he was still the state PDP chairman. He is doing really good in infrastructure, no doubt. Though, as a fan, I must tell him the truth and give advice that will help him end well and be better positioned for a higher office. I recommend he surrounds himself with people of high IQ like you, who do not get lost in the euphoria of 'cosmetic development', but have strong vision for our people. The electricity sub-station at Amasiri has been under construction for about a decade now. The state government should step in for early completion because the economy of those areas is nose diving for lack of electricity. A temporal measure should be in place for the area to be having light at the moment.#restoreafikpolight |

LLobiorah: Hey bro, I get your facts, and you are right about the cosmetic development offered by Dave. However, the picture you are painting here is not as bad as you think. Afikpo may not have HD light, doesn't really some other communities don't. On the educational standards of the state, I can tell you the difference is clear to what WS obtainable few years ago, although Dave regrettably isn't doing well when it comes to that. But ebonyi indigenes are taking education as serious as anything. Almost every family are targetting to have one or two graduates out from sch.
Then on the Anambra colonization of Abakaliki, lol, brother you are still living in the 90s. Yes! I agree, most of the houses and businesses in Abakaliki were owned by them, but not anymore. The new crop of houses you see around, ain't really in the Anambra hands bro. And this colonial mentality bro, I'll advise you to relegate that thought.
Peace! I am impressed and appreciative of how civil you made your response. That's the way to go. Having different opinions does not warrant insults. Dave is really trying in road reconstruction. I only want him to focus on other vital sectors as well. Previous administrations gave foreign scholarships. The beneficiaries are doing very well and have been liberated from poverty together with there families. I am not sure if the current administration is sustaining it. The indigenes that own structures in Abakaliki are mainly politicians and you should know that politics is not an occupation. Those investments are not sustainable. Few years after leaving offices, they will start selling them. Roads get bad few years after construction but investment in education and human capital last for ages and has a multiplier effect. Rural development and electrification are also key in encouraging micro agro allied industries and artisanship. Having only Abakaliki as a city in the whole state is not encouraging. For instance, in Abia, outside the state capital, there is Aba. In Anambra, there are Onitsha and Nnewi outside Awka. In Enugu, there is Nsukka. People in other cities have little or nothing to do with the state capital because they have the same amenities as those in the capital cities. However, in Ebonyi, it is only Abakaliki. Ordinary councillors are all relocating to Abakaliki because life is unbearable elsewhere except Abakaliki. Afikpo that suppose to be the second city in the state has not had electricity since 2015 and the town is now becoming like a ghost town. People are leaving in their numbers to Abakaliki. It is not only Afikpo town that does not have electricity. I mean Afikpo north, Afikpo south, Ivo, Ohozara LGAs and many more. #restoreafikpolight |

catherine1998: Fool, I hate talking with someone trained with a stolen money like you bt bcus Ebonyi is the topic here i will engage you, I detect hatred, envy & enemy in you jst bcuz our beautiful state is on rapid development, let me tell you, it is only fools like you that lacks basic knowledge on how best to go about challenges, it is only a fool like you that does not understand that what ebonyi need most now is to open up the state for investors to come in & industrialize the state, that way commercial activities will boom, our lands will be buyable, our houses will be rentable, there will be very viable economic activities in all crus & corner of the state, by so doing there will be plenty of money in the pockets of our parent to enable them sent their children to quality school by way of building their capacity. Globally no government can drive healthy economic activities except for private sector what government does is to create enabling environment, and that is exactly what our super Gov. Umahi is doing by building roads & other infrastructures, you dont have to wait until investors come before you will do all this. though going forward government can still take up human capital development, bt what we need now is to open the state for investors, see that Abakaliki you see is an International root, again likes of Ibeto Cement will soon kick off at Nkalagu, China company is coming to process cement, at Okpoto, AFDB will soon link Nigeria & Cameroon that will make Abakaliki a major link city & so many other prospect in view, my question is this, how best can one prepare for all this except by putting in place solid critical infrastructure & beautification of the state which is exactly what Umahi is doing, remember that Rome was never built in a day, I will advise you to drop the hatred bcus you can not curse whom God has blessed, GOD bless Great Ebonyi. Always be civil and polite while making your points. Everybody must not share your view or believe in your submissions. Education and human capital development remain the best and fastest ways of developing a place and not building flyovers, that are not needed and decorating the streets which are not sustainable. In few years, only the delapidating flyovers will be seen as the legacy of this current administration. Soon the disco lights will stop working and the future governments might not be willing to be changing the bulbs. The investors are not coming because of your disco lights. If so, they would go to VI and not Ebonyi. They are coming to make money from your natural resources which you have failed to empower your people to manage. Anambra has 'colonized' Abakaliki and with this your mentality, it will take a longer time for Ebonyi to be liberated. If you educate your people and develop them, you will be amazed how they will transform your place. It is not just about infrastructures but the people. For instance, take Ebonyi people to US and bring just ten Americans to Ebonyi. In few years, Ebonyi will be turned around while the US you moved Ebonyi people will turn to a ghetto. Invest in rural electrification too to discourage rural urban migration. This will help in springing up small scale agro allied industries which will create more jobs for your people. The rural electrification will also help the artisans. #restoreafikpolight |

Jamesilvar: Ugwuanyi is very senseless!!!
Why is he spending billions building another campus to move faculties that are already established to Nsukka? Why is he moving college of medicine to Nsukka when so much have already been spent to properly establish them at Enugu State Teaching Hospital?
What will become of those structures already in place? Instead of him to complete projects left over by Sullivan e.g the new secretariat etc he is spending billions on already established structures. The 200 bed specialist hospital he laid foundation for has long been abandoned at foundation level!!
Instead of him to improve the salary of his civil servants and pay up gratuities still staggering back to 2010, he is wasting billions to move already established structures to his father land.
Enugu state where a director at the state civil service earns a meagre 92k as monthly salary a whole director!! When his foolish supporters claim he pays salaries, the real question is how much does he pay? Invest directly into the lives of your people NO! You rather waste money on silly projects and hotels.
The school of health at GRA Nsukka, upgrade it to a College for your people to enjoy no, instead you want to waste billions to move Facilities already in place to your father's door step.
Doctors and other health workers already at Parklane are well underpaid but yet he wants to waste billions movind structures already in place.
Look at Enugu having potholes in this useless tenure with no single tangible new infrastructure coming from this yeye administration.
I am not against him doing something for our Nsukka people after all we all hailed him when he embarked on massive road works in Nsukka.
But wasting public funds to move already established structures to your father land just because you have shitty advisers and worse cos he can't think for himself is just sheer stupidity when there are various sectors in dire need of intervention.
I just hope as he has already embarked on this foolishness, that he completes the projects cos if he doesn't it will be a double waste of public funds when the new governor comes.
Compliments of the season to all the good people of Enugu state. Adada college of medicine has been in Nsukka even when ESUT was still ASUTECH. You didn't cry when Chimaroke moved it to Parklane and the main campus to his village Agbani. Besides moving back the college of medicine to it's original campus, Parklane is not big enough to accommodate the new faculties springing up in the college of medicine. |

Young042galaxy: Useless selfish man. Na so him carry Esut teaching hospital to his village at Nsukka too. Esut college of medicine has been in Nsukka zone when Esut was still ASUTECH. It was Chimaroke that moved it to Enugu and the permanent site from Enugu to his village. Go and check the history. |

udeze2000: If he wants to move development all round then he must build Secretariat in the 3 zones in Enugu State. The Governor is not for Nsukka people alone Enugu state is made up of old Enugu and old Nsukka zones. |

holysina: Sullivan did what in UDI? The man neglected UDI till a few months to vacate power and he constructed the road from agbudu to ahia manya, and the one from his father's compound to UDI station. The man practically focused in Enugu ciry . Sullivan cant even win any election in UDI like chimaroke is been worshipped in nkanu UDI is a LGA like Udenu LGA where Ugwuanyi hails from. If Sullivan didn't work in Udi, he worked in Enugu. The same way Ugwuanyi is not working in Udenu but in Nsukka |

kalvoken: Mr, stop that nonsense you are saying. Ugwanyi is really not doing anything in Enugu. Unless you are not from Enugu or you just chose to be unreasonable. Don't you see how old park(opposite zenith bank) has been decorated with refuses? Ugbene 2 is an eye sore. Those village theives in NSK town terrorising innocent people in the name of law enforcement nko.
Ordinary NOWAS, the traffic there is always frustrating. I wouldn't want to talk about how crazy the road that passed through abakpa market to Texaco is. Aside from that small kilometres of road he did in NSK. Tell me any other thing he had done that you are calling good work. I hope you know that the governor is not from Nsukka but from Udenu LGA. If you are talking of zones, Nsukka zone with 7 LGAs (not DCs) is the biggest in land mass and population. In old Anambra state, we had Nsukka, Enugu, Abakaliki, Awka and Onitsha as the zones then. The old Enugu state had Enugu, Abakaliki and Nsukka while the current Enugu state is made up of the old Enugu and Nsukka zones. During Chimaroke's regime, he divided the old Enugu zone into two zones and left old Nsukka zone as one, except Isi-uzo LGA that he added to Enugu east. The past two administrations not only abandoned the old Nsukka zone but moved the Nsukka ASUTECH campus (each of the old Anambra state zones had an ASUTECH campus then) to Agbani. Now LGAs in Enugu east and west are trying to be equating themselves to Nsukka zone. I think it's high time the old Nsukka zone came together and take it's pride of place in the state, as it has the highest population. |

blastac: Shut up.. you know nothing of Enugu politics... Dat you schooled in UNN doesn't mean u know anything about Enugu.. who told you air Force is in Nkanu? Are you aware that the civil service is saturated with nsukka.. anybody been employed 7 out of 10 would be from nsukka..
He isn't building any medical school in Nsukka he's pushing de one in esut down to Nsukka because UNN's medical school is not in Nsukka so he wants to take it out on Esut.. He's building a specialist hospital for his hometown to save them stress, Enugu has fucking 17 LGA for Bleep sake doesn't the rest deserve the specialist hospital...
He's building a Secretariat while there is an uncompleted Secretariat in Enugu waiting for him since de past 4 years with fleets of bad roads, inadequate amenities etc Anyway what do I know other than Enugu state is in the hands of God Yes other LGAs deserve specialist hospitals or development but below will guide you on what Enugu state is like and where attention should be given. Nsukka zone (7 LGAs) did not benefit from past administration apart from the road between Enugu east and Nsukka LGAs. Please list the projects executed in Igbo - Eze north, Igbo - Eze south, Udenu, Igbo - Etiti, Uzo - Uwani, Isi - Uzo and Nsukka LGAs. Note that each of these LGAs in Nsukka zone is bigger or equal to each of the LGAs like Udi, Ezeagu, Awgu, Aninri, Enugu north, south and east both in land mass and population. Whenever something is done in Nsukka LGA, people from other zones will think that the project is for the whole Nsukka zone. The zone is made up of 7 LGAs. Below is a guide on what Enugu state is like Population Census Projection 2016-03-21 Enugu 4,411,100 Area: 7,161 km² – Density: 616.0/km² Aninri ... 183,900 Awgu ... 266,300 Enugu East ...374,100 Enugu North ... 326,900 Enugu South 267,300 Ezeagu 230,300 Igbo-Etiti (Nsukka zone) 281,200 Igbo-Eze North (Nsukka zone) 349,400 Igbo-Eze South (Nsukka zone) 198,900 Isi-Uzo (Nsukka zone) ...200,600 Nkanu East ...207,300 Nkanu West .. 198,900 Nsukka (Nsukka zone) 417,700 Oji-River 173,800 Udenu (Nsukka zone)...241,200 Udi 321,700 Uzo-Uwani (Nsukka zone) 171,600 Nigeria. 193,392,500 Source: National Population Commission of Nigeria (web), National Bureau of Statistics (web). |

Sonsly041: “I have brought myself close to God; there is no turning back"
Because of this, the LORD will fight for you, you need only to be still... If you as a governor cannot provide security for yourself, I recommend a nearby prison for you, as it was advised that the prison is the only place ones security could be guaranteed. According to Justice Nyako, the court can only guarantee the safety of the IPOB leader if only he is kept in prison. “Even judges are being abducted in the country. So prison is the only safest place for him,” she said. Replying, Mr kanu, in turn recommended a prison for the judge and her family members since no where is safe any longer. Ortom should as well book a space in prison for himself |

DrNueLpureHoney: Truth be told.... The ex governor of Enugu state (Barr.. Sullivan Chime) did more work in his days in office more than the present governor.
Enugu State is about to go back to Square One...but God no go gree Yes he did more work in Enugu north, Enugu south, Enugu east and Udi LGAs with huge debt. The remaining 14 LGAs were abandoned yet they are paying for the loans used for the projects in the four LGAs. Nsukka zone (7 LGAs) did not benefit apart from the road between Enugu east and Nsukka LGAs.
