Freeeanijor:My advice was for those between 30 and 40 years with sources of income. For you, don't marry, continue planning till you retire. Wait until you have billions in your account. We are still in Nigeria. If you like, continue behaving like the whites. Their countries have plans for them at old age, whether they have children or not but your country has no plans for you. Get a family and train your children well. |
In as much as I support some of your points, you should be mindful of the fact that in this part of the world, there are no provisions for the aged by the government. They do not pay ordinary pension talk more of making provisions. As you are enjoying your youthful age, also be thinking of your life when you get old. In Nigeria, it is solely your own children that can take care of you at your old age. In Nigeria, family seems to be the only thing that is a bit constant. One can be rich today and poor tomorrow and vice versa. So, don't rely solely on being rich before having your own family. If you are up to 30- 40 and have a source of income, whether you have billions or not, try and have your own family. Children grow very fast nowadays. If you marry now, in the next 16 - 25 years your children will be independent and even be helping you. Don't wait till your retirement before getting married. A stitch in time saves nine! |
LibertyRep:The only thing they are good at. Professors with no findings |
Bugatie:And what is wrong about that? Enugu state is made up of old Enugu and old Nsukka zones. Nsukka zone has over 60% of the population of Enugu state. |
murphyibiam15:Has strike ever solved any problem in Nigeria? If so, our universities would have been heaven on earth because ASUU go on strike almost every semester. Once FG give them small money, they will start singing a different song. Protest is good but I don't support the selfish irrational strike by these unpatriotic unions. |
murphyibiam15:Note that nobody or profession is more important than the other. Afterall, we are being ruled in this country by people from the negleted professions. How many of our past and present leaders are medical doctors, lecturers and engineers? Many things are bad in the country and strike can never correct anything. The strike is only to suffer the innocent poor. If they go on strike and petrol goes for 5k/ltr, those in government will still be affording it with our collective resources while the poor will not be able to afford it. The masses are suffering a lot and we should not add to their suffering with the senseless strikes. Nigerian roads have been bad for centuries and it is not something you can fix in two weeks. Giving broke FG 2 weeks to fix Nigerian roads or you embark on strike is nonsense. |
Olasco789:Do not mind the greedy selfish unionists. ASUU, doctors and NUPENG think that they are the only important people in this country. They hardly work for 6 months without going on senseless strike. The day security men, bankers, farmers, etc will start their own, they will know that there are other workers that have been patriotic and are even more important to the society than them. Upon the huge dues NUPENG has been collecting, how many Km of road have they reconstructed as part of their coperate social responsibility? |
flyingpig:You are not informed. Go and do your research well. |
mabea:Of course, if you know what I know, you will be more sad. Keep praising Nigerian politicians while they keep your generations in perpetual misery. |
flyingpig:Cosmetic development! There is light in streets but non at home. He commissioned solar street light in Afikpo, where there has been no electricity since 2015. I pay about 50k tax monthly to the state government, yet I have no electricity in my house. Pipe borne water is a no go area. Schools and hospitals are zero. After paying huge tax, I still pay heavily to provide these aminities for myself. What then is the need for paying taxes? The only development you know is unnecessary substandard flyovers, concrete roads and disco lights in three roundabouts in Abakaliki, which he is being used to enrich himself, as he is the sole supplier, contractor and supervisor. It is a pity! |
Prechboy:They have been recycling most of the pictures here since 2017. The Udensi roundabout, Presco junction and Spera in deo. These are Ebonyi state for them. Afikpo has been without electricity since 2015. Apart from the low quality concrete roads in some villages, the only development in Ebonyi state is in these three Abakaliki roundabouts I mentioned. |
ModestGal:Your are saying a different thing and you better change this your mindset before you marry, otherwise remain single. Do not carry this mentality and set fire in a man's house in the name of marriage. The issue is not about being a housewife or a carrier woman. It is about a husband patronizing 'ashawo' because the wife has refused to be submissive sexually. Submissiveness is not for housewives alone. Many successful career women are submissive to their husbands and have happy homes. Though, being submissive does not mean putting your life on the line to satisfy your partner sexually. If you are sick or just put to bed, you suppose to be given sometime to recover. Aside that, using sex as an instrument for bargaining is totally wrong. If my sister tries that, I won't support her. Whatever the issues that made you loose interest in sex are, try and sort them out together and do not resort to starving each other. Communication is key in marriage. |
Futuragetty:Atiku will still buy his way through. Remember his son has hinted that he will contest in 2023. Northerners are not interested in party, rather they will support their own irrespective of his party, just to make sure they retain the power. |
Futuragetty:That's one of their game plans. They might give Amechi ticket and abandon him in APC to give their own - Atiku a block vote in PDP. SW will also abandoned Amechi, as a pay back for betraying Tinubu. He might end up not even winning in any state. Northerners know what they are doing politically. |
Futuragetty:Keep dreaming! North has already taken back the power with the help of southern saboteurs. What happened today was to sideline the last force they were afraid that could challenge them. The coast is now clear for them. Once they dangle VP to us, we will start fighting ourselves. |
majamajic:They don't do follow follow, why did they abandon Ekwueme and vote Obasanjo? Because of senate president. With VP dangled to them, you will see father and son fighting. South should stand up with one voice to take their rightful position. They should not settle for less. |
majamajic:Learn what? They are PDP and north will still collect there ticket. Atiku is warming up already. How long will we continue being slaves to the north? They will just dangle VP slot to us and we will be struggling and killing ourselves. North will always give a block vote to their own irrespective of the party. |
tsephanyah:I am sorry for the southerners. This is not about Tinubu or Oshomole. The northerners are far above us politically. The bitter part is that the fellow southerners that suppose to stand in solidarity with their brothers are being used by the northerners for their agenda. Power suppose to shift to the south in 2023, but the northerners have now positioned themselves to be in control of the two major parties, so by then the south will not have a say and the two parties would field only northerners as candidates. The southerners that could challenge this agenda are being sidelined and we are foolishly rejoicing. |
Win win for APC. Their members emerging candidates for the two main parties - APC and PDP. PDP just sold their birthright. They can do anything for money. Tueh!!! |
WHITELIGHTER:And APC will be producing candidates for APC and PDP. No PDP member is good enough to be a candidate. APC will magnanimously give PDP candidates for Edo and Ondo elections. It is a win win for APC. |
PDP agents protesting. They are disappointed as the APC is scaling through the hurdles their man, Gaidom is setting. |
oshozondii: |
Zeeknow3245:None is irreplaceable. Go to private hospitals and see dedicated doctors. They work harder than those in government payrol while their pay is like peanuts compared to those in government hospitals. |
bigcasava1:It's high time every profession began showing their relevance. It seems as if doctors, lectures and oil workers are the important people in Nigeria. They can hardly stay for 6 months without going on strike. The day securitymen, bankers and others will start their own, Nigeria will be like hell. That they don't go on strike does not mean that their working conditions are okay. |
Individuals, organizations and nations are sacrificing and donating their hard earned resources to fight the pandemic and the contribution of the resident doctors is to abandon the sick for their selfish interest. I am yet to hear the donations made by the NMA for this pandemic. No matter what, it is evil to go on strike in this period. May the souls of those died because of the heartless greed of these doctors rest in peace, Amen! Money is not everything. |
You don't have options. Not after collecting billions of Edo state allocation. You must give him the ticket, whether his certificate is okay or not. |
Dyke15:Because there is no meat to share now. Wait for their congress and 2023 primaries. Tambuwal will show Atiku that 4 is the difference between 2023 and 2019. They are the same thieves deceiving us. In all, what are we benefiting? Saying no to APC cabals and dining with PDP cabals with Edo allocations. Both parties are the same and should be voted out, if votes will even count. |
chrisxxx:It generally reduced across middle belt: Nassarawa, Benue, Kogi, Plateau and Taraba. His deffection has little or nothing to do with that. |
remigiusizunna:Exactly! What does this benefit the ordinary people of Edo? When Ortom decamped to PDP and won, we cheered him but has Benue people benefited from that? What is on ground in Benue today? This is only for the selfish interest of the party cabals. If you get to know the deal he entered into and billions of Edo money used to seal this, you will weep. The masses should wake up and vote out APC and PDP. They are only after their pockets and are the same. |
Earlystar698:The cases in Nigeria are increasing because of people like you who failed to take responsibility and keep deceiving people that covid is a scam. May God help us! |
OkpaAkuEriEri:Keep passing bulk and not protect yourself. If we obeyed the NCDC directives, the first two weeks lockdown would have taken care of this mess but people kept blaming and even claiming it was a scam, thereby refusing to keep to the directives. May God save us! |
