Wherever he's doing that road must be around Nsukka

And what is wrong about that? Enugu state is made up of old Enugu and old Nsukka zones. Nsukka zone has over 60% of the population of Enugu state.

See you.. If our grandparents didn't protest the slave trade will still be invoke.. We should fight for our right so we can have things better.. You're afraid of going for strike to correct the ills bc of suffering Nigerians who will keep suffering if things don't change according to u.. Don't be afraid to make a change even if it will cause little pain

Has strike ever solved any problem in Nigeria? If so, our universities would have been heaven on earth because ASUU go on strike almost every semester. Once FG give them small money, they will start singing a different song.

Protest is good but I don't support the selfish irrational strike by these unpatriotic unions.

No one prevented anyone from going for strike... Don't be bitter bc you're not among those important people..Besides NuPENG is fighting for the right course.. Our roads are bad with numerous extortion on the road

Note that nobody or profession is more important than the other. Afterall, we are being ruled in this country by people from the negleted professions. How many of our past and present leaders are medical doctors, lecturers and engineers?

Many things are bad in the country and strike can never correct anything. The strike is only to suffer the innocent poor. If they go on strike and petrol goes for 5k/ltr, those in government will still be affording it with our collective resources while the poor will not be able to afford it.

The masses are suffering a lot and we should not add to their suffering with the senseless strikes. Nigerian roads have been bad for centuries and it is not something you can fix in two weeks. Giving broke FG 2 weeks to fix Nigerian roads or you embark on strike is nonsense.

The day security men, bankers, farmers, etc will start their own, they will know that there are other workers that have been patriotic and are even more important to the society than them.

Upon the huge dues NUPENG has been collecting, how many Km of road have they reconstructed as part of their coperate social responsibility?

You are ranting carelessly.

Is electricity in the hands of state government or have you forgotten Good luck dismantled PHCN and sold off generating rights and distribution rights as well?

You better meet your traditional rulers, galvanize money and take EEDC to court. It is a private establishment and has no association with Umahi.

You are not informed. Go and do your research well.

Mr man, Uburu community close to Afikpo is hosting a fly-over that is about %38 complete, the same Uburu is hosting a Medical College for the Ebonyi State University faculty of medicine, which will be commissioned for use in December, please is Uburu in Abakaliki?

In December 2019, Dave installed traffic lights in Afikpo, Ezzamgbo, Abakaliki ( of course ) and lastly Uburu again.

So, stop claiming the developments are not spreading to other communities.

Ezzamgbo now has traffic lights, and concrete roads, alongside Afikpo.

Cosmetic development! There is light in streets but non at home. He commissioned solar street light in Afikpo, where there has been no electricity since 2015.

I pay about 50k tax monthly to the state government, yet I have no electricity in my house. Pipe borne water is a no go area. Schools and hospitals are zero. After paying huge tax, I still pay heavily to provide these aminities for myself. What then is the need for paying taxes?

The only development you know is unnecessary substandard flyovers, concrete roads and disco lights in three roundabouts in Abakaliki, which he is being used to enrich himself, as he is the sole supplier, contractor and supervisor. It is a pity!

OP it's better you specify by saying ABAKALIKI Ebonyi state coz as far as I know the rest of Ebonyi State is still a bush. I served in Ebonyi and the second most developed place there which is Afikpo is still very backwards with only 3 Banks along Eke market road. But Abakaliki makesense. Kudos to Gov Dave Umahi.

They have been recycling most of the pictures here since 2017. The Udensi roundabout, Presco junction and Spera in deo. These are Ebonyi state for them.

Afikpo has been without electricity since 2015. Apart from the low quality concrete roads in some villages, the only development in Ebonyi state is in these three Abakaliki roundabouts I mentioned.

This is why I tell girls to have something good that brings in money, get well educated, do things you are passionate about that brings you happiness.
Don't ever rely all your HAPPINESS on a man and don't ever MARRY a ugly man, infact, you can go check up his family to be sure that they are not too ugly there, because at the end of the day, your children matters most, and think of the joy that would come out of having pretty children, it would make you forget anything that their father would have done to hurt you and people would think you have a happy home since they will not hear you fight or shout, thats the secret of some happy women.

The truth is that what some men want is to keep women in sadness and for them to be happy about it. Its so obvious childbirth, pregnancy, is not an easy thing for women, but just for them to endure for 3months till you are very healthy after childbirth is a problem for them, meanwhile you endured for 9 months to bring child for both of you, and even endured labour pains.
Men are just too selfish, if you don't want to run into depression, please do what I have said.

Some husbands are so selfish that when they wrong you, you should happily still give them your body.
This thread is so full of rubbish talks picking on women, as a woman, you should please wise up.

I'm 100% against full housewifes, 100% against women not getting good education because some men could run you crazy, and if at that time you are nothing, its possible you run mad. My friend who is a clinical psychologist once told me highest number of his patients are women and most of the problems are caused by their husbands treatment.
If you are empowered as a woman, you will easily heal from such hurts and redirect your energy to something else like your children, your work when men misbehave, by that, your depression would be minimal. A word is enough for the wise

Your are saying a different thing and you better change this your mindset before you marry, otherwise remain single. Do not carry this mentality and set fire in a man's house in the name of marriage.

The issue is not about being a housewife or a carrier woman. It is about a husband patronizing 'ashawo' because the wife has refused to be submissive sexually.

Submissiveness is not for housewives alone. Many successful career women are submissive to their husbands and have happy homes. Though, being submissive does not mean putting your life on the line to satisfy your partner sexually. If you are sick or just put to bed, you suppose to be given sometime to recover. Aside that, using sex as an instrument for bargaining is totally wrong. If my sister tries that, I won't support her.

Whatever the issues that made you loose interest in sex are, try and sort them out together and do not resort to starving each other. Communication is key in marriage.

One Sure Thing About Politics Is That There Is Always A "Reward" For Every Treacherous Act If Not Now Certainly Later.

I am sorry for the southerners. This is not about Tinubu or Oshomole. The northerners are far above us politically.

The bitter part is that the fellow southerners that suppose to stand in solidarity with their brothers are being used by the northerners for their agenda. Power suppose to shift to the south in 2023, but the northerners have now positioned themselves to be in control of the two major parties, so by then the south will not have a say and the two parties would field only northerners as candidates.

The southerners that could challenge this agenda are being sidelined and we are foolishly rejoicing.

So 25th June 2020, two things will happen
1. Obaseki wins PDP primaries
2. Oshiomhole is voted out as APC chairman

Beautiful time to be alive

And APC will be producing candidates for APC and PDP. No PDP member is good enough to be a candidate.

APC will magnanimously give PDP candidates for Edo and Ondo elections.

It is a win win for APC.

No matter what, it is evil to go on strike in this period. May the souls of those died because of the heartless greed of these doctors rest in peace, Amen!

It generally reduced across middle belt: Nassarawa, Benue, Kogi, Plateau and Taraba. His deffection has little or nothing to do with that.

Your mind is clearly in negative mode:
See no good; speak no good.
These places I mentioned all have visible evidence of seriousness in governance.
If you cannot see them, then you need help.
I will not reply you again.

You would have listed the projects you saw, outside the substandard concrete roads. I live in Afikpo and I have been paying about 50k tax monthly to the state government, yet I spend over 30k burning fuel monthly to provide electricity for myself. After paying the tax, I provide electricity, water and other amenities by myself and people are praising him for enriching himself through the concrete projects.

I owe you no explanation.
And yet I will oblige you with the detail you seek.

I have been to the following places:

Afikpo North and South.
Abakaliki.
Ohaozara.
Ezza South.
Ishielu.
Ebonyi.
Onisha.

They are all LGAs in Ebonyi State.

And what are the projects you saw apart from substandard concrete roads without asphalt? Are you aware that Afikpo north, Afikpo south, Ohaozara, Ivo, etc have no electricity since 2015? Afikpo north with monthly allocation of about 100 million has been unable to fix the electric transformer inside their premises since 2014 because governor is using their allocations to develop Abakaliki?

Afikpo suppose to be the second city in the state but the place is now a ghost of itself. Everybody there is now relocating to Abakaliki because life is no longer bearable there. Apart from Ohaozara, his LG that he moved the state teaching hospital and school of nursing to, which other projects did you see in those LGAs?
Politics / Re: Highlight Of Governor Ugwuanyi's 5 Year Term In Enugu by chiol: 8:07pm On Jun 12, 2020
Ugwuoke347:

You have just said what any sensible person who knows Enugu very well should say.
Gburugburu has certainly tried.
As in he has tried to keep things on an average routine level.
The pace of growth is certainly not as aggressive as Umahi's.
Yet, it would be insincere for anyone to go on an all-out condemnation of his administration.

Ebonyi State right now is the darling state in Igboland.
I have personally toured Umahi's Ebonyi
and I can tell you for free that whatever Ugwuanyi has achieved in Enugu State immediately pales into shadows when placed side-by-side with the kind of things Dave Umahi has wrought in Ebonyi.
And yet Enugu earns more than Ebonyi in both federal allocation and internally generated revenue.
On a scale of 10, Gburugburu should be given 5 marks.
That's fair enough.

Where did you visit in Ebonyi when you toured the state? Outside Abakaliki, where other places did you tour? What are the developments in Ebonyi? Is it the substandard concrete roads (that wears off new tires in a month) and unnecessary substandard flyovers, being planned, executed and supervised alone by the governor? Even the materials are sourced by him alone, thereby monopolizing every economic activity in the state.

It's high time we realized that states are not just few local governments that make up the state capitals. Ebonyi has 13 LGAs but only Abakaliki and Ebonyi LGAs are taking over 90% of the developmental projects while the remaining majority are given little or no projects. Worse still, these neglected LGAs' allocations are being used by the governor to develop only the state capital.

People in Enugu city (made up of three LGAs) feel that Enugu state is just the capital city. Forgetting that the state is made up of 17 LGAs. Sullivan concentrated mainly on the capital city and people there want the trend to continue.

Governors should try and balance their projects and not developing only the state capitals.
