PoliticsLeadership: IBB Is A Huge Failure - By Arewa Youths by chiteny(op): 4:51am On Mar 22, 2012
Rather than blame President Goodluck Jonathan who is barely two years in office, and the allocation of 13 per cent derivatives to oil producing states, for the higher poverty level in the North, youths in Northern Nigeria under the auspices of the Arewa Youths Forum (AYF) said the blame should be heaped on past northern leaders.

Specifically, AYF said Nigeria's longest Military ruler, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida and other past leaders from the region should be held responsible for the poorer state of the economies of States in the North.

Consequently, the youths have called on leaders of Northern extraction including heads of state and governors to apologise to the North as a matter of morality and sincerity, as their disgraceful plunder of the Nigeria economy through various ways, including Gulf War Oil Windfall were not used to empower the growing army of Nigerian youths particularly from the northern region.

The Youths who vowed to thwart every political interest/move of IBB and other identified unpatriotic northern leaders in the future declared that most of their past leaders hated the Premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello, hence they refused to adhere to his teaching, preaching and style of leadership, while he was alive.

“We got to the mess we are in due to their insensitivity, and approach to governance, which was contrary to the principles of our leader Sir Ahmadu Bello,” they said in a statement issued on Sunday following an emergency meeting in Kaduna attended by Northern Muslim and Christian youths.

Regretting the “avoidable quagmire” in which the North has found itself, the Youths said, “we are at the bottom of every index ranging from health, education, social amenities, and several other sectors. Worst of our woes is the insecurity ravaging the North.”

The AYF blamed for their woes “all Northern leaders who held several positions, including Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar, and others, whom they said had “golden opportunities” during their times to turn the fortunes of the region around but failed to do so because of their greed and quest to acquire public funds they don't need.

A statement by the group said “this high level poverty should be blamed on the leaders and they must know and accept much of the blame,”, dismissing as a “ruse” the continued search by those former leaders for what went wrong. “Our indigent peoples are not in any way responsible for our predicament but the elites, who on several times Allah has willed leadership.”

“Northerners and the world needs explanation as to what led the North to the poor state it is today. It was not magic but man-made as a result of deliberate manipulation of religion, self enrichment and pervasive corruption our leaders adopted to the detriment of the lager peoples of the North. It must be further explained to tell undiluted history, that had our elites continue in the way and direction erected by our leader Sir Ahmadu Bello, it would have been a different ball game, but sadly, our region is now being mocked and laughed upon, we are being denigrated and termed as "parasites" and those "benefiting" from where they have not sown.”

According to the angry youths, what the North and Nigeria in general need now is “practicable good governance on the basis of unity, justice, equity, oneness and togetherness.”
Christianity EtcRe: Must They Always Shout In Tongues Without Interpretation? by chiteny(op): 1:12am On Mar 22, 2012
@Chiteny
Yeah, I knew someone would pick on those. But u should understand that what he listed in Gal 5:22-23 isnt an exhaustive list of the fruits of the spirit Just as those he listed from verse 19-23 are not an exhaustive list of the 'workings of the flesh'. Rather his list of fruits of the spirit are those that highlight the deep contrast with the workings of the flesh listed in verses 19-23, its very important u understand that.
So Wesley, I guess since the list is not exhaustive, you would like to add to ithuh

Christianity EtcRe: Does The Bible Really Forbid Women Preachers? by chiteny(m): 7:17pm On Mar 21, 2012
Why are those scriptures had for people to understand
Very simple...women can't qualify as bishops and deacons...women cannot exercise authority in d church or teach in d church ...simple as ABC....
Its like insinuating that there were female priests in d temple back then in isreal...temple/church services, anything having to do with internal church activities, taking d lead, teaching are for men and men alone.....
That is Gods arrangement...why1timothy 2:8-12 tells us why.....
Women could engage in d evangelizing work generally just as there were female prophetesses in isreal but cant and should never teach a congregation just as a female could never have been a priest...
But taking d lead(pastor or bishop) or teaching in d church is a responsibility for men alone.....
No woman,ï repeat no woman amongst all d faithfull women(tabitha, lydia, prisca, mary mother of Jesus etc)that existed in d 1st century ever became a bishop mrs or pastor mrs or deaconess in the 1st century..
They don't qualify to be overseers.
They all followed Gods arrangement of headship and orderliness.....
Spot on. You nailed it.

learn to bite your tongue and stop making an issue out of it. He is most probably deliberatly doing it just to prove a point + ego so just pretend that it doesnt bother you by ignoring him but subtly taking action.

Take control of his wardrobe. Throw out or give away the "tired" looking clothes.
I throw my husbands tired clothes away and I will even be helping him look for them so much easier that way than to fight over something not even worth fighting for.

If you dont have a washing machine always have a bucket of sopay water in your bathroom and when he comes back from work just immerse the dirty clothes into the water. Next morning he will have no choice but to wear something else. Or you can hide the dirty clothes until you can give them to a washerman to wash/dryclean.

Try and lay out clothes for him that he will wear the next day and take charge of making/buying his cloths. Just say something like someone brought things to your office to sell and you decided to buy him a few shirts cos you know he will look good in them.

When he does look good compliment him rather than nag him when he looks rough. He sounds like another big baby, that God has blessed us with and so has to be treated like one

I note you say that he is good in other areas so please try and play down the areas that he is not so good in. I wish we all could find perfect husbands but sadly there arent any & we make the best out of the ones that we have.
Good Advice there but OP don't let him catch you doing the bolded section. Things might just get rough after then.

BusinessWhat Is Happening To Access/intercontinental Bank???? by chiteny(op): 12:00pm On Mar 12, 2012
Good afternoon friends, I am tempted to ask this question because of the difficulty I have had over the past few days to conduct my transaction with Access bank.
I have found it difficult to withdraw money. It's either very long queue which will last hours making me either spend the whole day at the bank without the queue getting to my turn or I just leave the bank on sighting long queue or they have connectivity or software problem or they out rightly don't have money like I have been told in two branches today already.

Please what is happening?. Is the bank bankrupt? Someone on the inside can give a better explanation to this

Just for the sake of writing, in anger I have decided to close my account with them because I don't know what is happening anymore in this country. Make them no chop my small money and close shop like other banks wey don disappear.

Christianity EtcRe: Rccg Asks Every Family In The Church To Donate #50,000 To Support University by chiteny(m): 12:29pm On Mar 06, 2012
the same children of so called "poor people" who dont pay tithe, give offering or contributed nada now expect to reap where they have not sown, it doesnt work like that.
Besides so if a church sets up a school/uni how on earth is it meant to provide standard education if it is highly subsidized? Or are you suggesting that the founding church should continue to bankroll the university? And how is the church supposed to do this when there are people on NL who advocate that rather than pay tithe/offering monies should be donated to the poor!!
@ Tee Jay- What about the children of the poor that pay their tithes offering etc. will they benefit or rip from where they sow?

FamilyRe: What Does It Mean To Be A Submissive Wife. by chiteny(m): 12:58pm On Feb 27, 2012
My little contribution:

Submission is a willingness to let the husband take the lead in the home. Taking the lead means being personally responsible and accountable for the home, not being the absolute power and authority in the home like men would like it to mean. That is surrender and domination not submission. You can’t force a woman to be submissive, it is something she does willingly.
In as much as it is a wilful act, it is a requirement for any married female Christian. There cannot be two captains in a ship, else there is bound to be serious issues.
Secondly submissiveness on the part of women does not mean that their voice and opinion cannot be heard in the family unlike as many people assume. She has every right to make her opinion on issues know to the husband, but submission lets her support/accept her husband's decision even if it did not include her opinion most times. I for one love to listen would to my wife's view on issues before taking my stand on most issues, even if i may not completely buy into it. You never can tell, her opinion could turn out to be the best solution to the problem.
