FamilyRe: Why Are Other Tribes So Concerned About The Expensive Igbo Bride Price Issue by chriskosherbal(m):
mrvitalis:
I'm from IMO , mbaise ...my bro married from rivers okirika

To do full traditional wedding in opobo, bonny, okirika , kalabari would set u back over 2 million
My brother paid ...the rivers guy that married my sister didn't pay upto 200k for men and women

Most things like drink u buy for the bride price in igbo land are mostly used to serve people on the traditional marriage

If you find it hard to spend 500k on bribe price you are certainly not ready for marriage ...unless u want to have a poor home
At the bolded am really surprise a man can talk like this, so those who married for lesser than that amount are no longer having a harmonious marriage right, so money or higher bride price is the only factor that qualifies an individual to have blissful or be ready for marriage, are you 4 real, I call this misplaced priorities, one will expect this generation to have grown above this outdated lifestyle and embrace dynamism calling for a total downward review concerning marrying an IBO lady.

Go ask IBO guys who married from other tribes weather the women they married are of lesser value, or did they produce children with one eye, ear or no nose children, what makes an IBO lady so special and different to warrant/attract such an exorbitant/unnecessary amount that causes men to break bank on thier behalf.

Think of it, this is the reason why other values that are supposed to be considered in marriage or before marriage are thrown in the trash can & money considered as the only base irrespective how the money was made, a total deviation & variance of marital values is what is being practiced.

Reading all the comments from most of the females just show were our loyalty now lies and we all expect money to do the magic in bringing about the so called blissful marital Union, it doesn't work that way my dear, factors such as compatibility, love, understanding/chemistry, tolerance have all now been measured using the money ruler, and these same ladies are the first to cry out opening thread upon thread when thier marriage hits the rock irrespective of the presence of cash.

Nobody is saying money is not necessary in marriage, and who says money can't be made inside or after marriage, but placing half a million on a lady just for bride price (who is not even a Virgin, with countless body counts, & abortions not that we are using it as a yadstick) is totally unheard-of and just shows the level moral decadence in stock for generation to come if nothing is done about it..for Pete's sake am not acquiring a property or going into real estate, i can as well secure certificate of occupancy c/o to seal the deal, am just getting married.

Man wen e go value e wife Go value e wife irrespective of how much he spent on Bride price .

Peace .

PoliticsRe: Hanan Buhari And Unprecedented Abuse Of Presidential Powers-thread by chriskosherbal(m): 10:37am On Jan 12, 2020
ivandragon:
The apex leadership of this administration continue to miss the point...

No one forced PMB to make promises of frugality, discipline, prudence, cutting wastage, reducing overhead & keeping family separate from official duties...

But he did & as such, sane Nigerians have every right to question what they see as unnecessary extravagance & indulgence.

If PMB says he would not fund the office of the 1st lady (which has turned out to be false anyway), why should the daughter be allowed to use the Presidential Jet to attend a cultural event as a private person?

If as PMB said his wife belongs to the background, how come the extravagance of using the presidential jet is bestowed on the daughter?

For those asking how else she would have travelled, it should have been the responsibility of the state government inviting her to be responsible for her trip & other expenses since they were the ones that invited her.

They could have arranged a private chopper to carry her or paid for some seats in first class.

There might be no concrete law against what has happened, but when you preach prudence to others, it is expected that you abide by your own teachings.
I couldn't but drink to this comment to wash it down..word !!!

Goatluck Jonathan meet his boss again after a long time. Amaechi and Tinubu provided the money that was used for logistics to send the drunk ineffectual buffoon back to his village.
After calling him those names, why not drink water to wash it down to satisfy your soul cos he has seen it all, to be a president for 6 years is never an easy feat. Give cuddles to whom cuddles is dew cos weather you like it or not he has paid his dues.
PoliticsRe: If Asset Declaration Isn’t Public, What’s Its Point? by chriskosherbal(m): 9:53pm On Jan 11, 2020
I think from now on Asset declaration by all public office holders especially politicians should be part & part so of our Constitution and made public for all to see when entering a public office and upon exit this will go a long way in reducing CORRUPTION.

wristbangle:
Monopoly is one of the negative factors affecting businesses in Africa, especially Nigeria. Competition put companies on toes to be innovative in service rendering.

If the government can have this implemented, kudos to them. DSTV has dealt with us for too long and it's time we look elsewhere for better service delivery. I am not referring to NTA.

In this economic situation, coughing out almost 20k to enjoy premium package that will not air important matches is nonsense upon injury.
grin the bolded.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Ends DSTV Exclusive Rights On EPL Matches by chriskosherbal(m): 7:24pm On Jan 10, 2020
Wait ooo how true?

But wait EPL taken away from supersport hmmmm inasmuch as l support patronizing local made goods it is not a yadstick to give a child an adult equipment oooo. I don't play with the premier league is equal to food to me, so plz federal govt should find a very good alternative to air these matches without any technical hitch cos I can't really vouch for the Nigerian television Authority (NTA).

Now that Liverpool are close to winning thier first premier since 1990, and the champions tie between Real Madrid and Man city closeby ...e nu go funny.ooo

Few days before Christmas I went to visit a friend in a remote village in Poland. There was an accident that occurred which tripped off the electricity in the house. And then we went out almost immediately. Within 10 minutes it was 1st the internet company that called my friend that his home internet has stopped working and that if there was a problem with the electricity, that they can call the electricity company for us if we have any problem.
That is a working system.

Mind you it was on a weekend.
Thank you my bro I just wonder how some people reason, simply because he claimed the OP is not staying in a high cost living area therefore he shouldn't be entitled to 24hrs light, can u imagine how an adult is reasoning . some folks just talk without reasoning or should I say is wickedness. He just want to make the OP feel less human cos of cash what nonsense!!!.

you're living in a bush.
my brother stop wailing like a jobless Ipob and go hustle.
I'm living in the Urban city and light is 24 hours and if PHCN takes it off they'll restore it back after 20 minutes

you dey mind that dude wey dey live for inside bush
bro stop using the nail to hit the hammer rather use the hammer to hit the nail, this has nothing to do with hustle hard or living in a bush and we are not talking of lopsided development but comprehensive, the OP said NIGERIA not a particular town or urban area, why do you guyz always act like this.

Someone raised an important national issue for us to ponder on & profer possible solution, you automatically wants to make him feel bad that he is not living in one place you claim you have light 24hrs and they do take it to for 20mins sometimes ...I wonder how is that 24hrs if you take away 20mins..

Don't we have developed nations that also have rural areas and don't they have light there and must everybody stay in Beverly hills, is he not a citizen of Nigeria irrespective of where he is staying and entitled to basic amenities that he is even paying for. With all the cash thrown into that project and yet nothing to show for it does it not call for concern

Plz let's put the horse before the cart and not the other way round, I get easily pissed when adults talk like children that's if you are one though

Am out no Beef.

what nigerian seem to forget is a war against an 80 million citizen with nuclear capability would be bloody for both parties involved, if US invade Iran, they would face logistics problem due to the vast landmass and ruged tehrain, and if they in tend to use Air assualt Iran has enough surface to Air Missile to drop as many drone as US wishes to send, and should US go nuclear
sir, do you think you are talking to a baby when it comes to the game of WAR, US is clearly aware of the above you just mentioned if and only if they actually exist. My heart goes to the masses there who don't have enough resources to relocate when it goes sour cos US can bring down Iran's economy in two weeks.

Pls iran should shred carefully cos war will not be favourable to them at all.
