I hear what you say however qualifying and doing well in the WC is a huge sporting project that any serious sports minister can't afford to overlook. When I say give support it doesn't mean interfering in the coaching setup or player selection of the team but helping ensure the logistics like training facilities, stadium pitches, hotels, bonuses etc. are all sorted so that the players can have maximum focus to deliver on their assignment. A proactive minister would also help nip in the bud any controversy that might want to destabilize the team. For instance look at the current situation with the Super Falcons where the NFF and Waldrum are throwing shade at each other just few days to the commencement of the Female World Cup. JohnBullMySon: Please no. That is interference and FIFA doesn't joke with that. The feds should indict those corrupt people within NFF and the rest will sit up. |

Kind of expected with demand for dollar so high. Hopefully increase in crude oil production and dwindling demand for forex (summer months usually sees high demand for dollars and pounds due to school fees abroad and people traveling for the holiday) should steady things by October. Mkenya2019: I see Naira has depreciated to 750 to a dollar - blackmarket also re-starting at 800. Buhari mess will take some time to fix. Kenya is dealing with uhuru mess too but it just need a year to sort it out. |

Decent group. On paper we have undoubtedly the more talented assembly of players but talent in itself is not enough especially in today's modern game. Whoever is made the sports minister should have qualifying for the world cup as part of their KPI. This means giving the NFF every support they can spare because the present football leadership doesn't look proactive enough. Between Uyo and Abuja stadium should be our home ground. Every effort should be put in place to ensure the pitch is to our favour. Coaching matter should be sorted ASAP between JP or Finidi. I'm quietly confident any of the two should be able to qualify the SEs. With determination and some luck by God's grace Nigeria will qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. I think you're a bit unfair of your assessment of Onazi. Pre-Matuidi horror tackle he was our most consistent midfielder after Mikel. Think of him as a poor man's Kante. Yes he declined significantly after 2014 but he was a solid player for the SE. charlesemeka85: the agent too good🤣🤣🤣
To me Onazi hv never been a good player, he was just fortunate to hv decent stints with Lazio and the Super eagles |

If we were strictly talking about players at our disposal I would have agreed with you 100% but our lack of organization plus, NFF/Coach/Player crisis is making this look highly unlikely but hey miracle dey happen. lovewins: In my opinion, Canada is our biggest chance to get out of that group. They have internal challenges, a few roster absentees and haphazard preparations. We just need to play the first game to win, they Re very beatable |

Onana is a big guy his muscular stature probably masked it. Plus when you're playing with centre-backs who are roughly 6ft 4 for the most part it's easy to look smaller. Being Cameroonian again it was always likely he was tall. raumdeuter: I was surprised when I Googled Onanas heigh and weight and saw he is 6ft 3

Exactly my point. The games he's winning are matches we are ordinarily expected to win so what else has he brought to the table? Are our midfield transitions better? Is our defense more solid? What's our best formation? Rohr for all his limitations we already knew what formation he loved to deploy and could see his semi-conservative style (to be fair he did try to break out of the mold from time to time) One thing that sticks out about the team under JP is the way we concede goals at will. I've watched the SE enough times under JP to conclude he's not the solution. jihday: I don’t think he has done anything to deserve getting a renewal, struggled against decent teams, refused to address areas of need in the squad I’m not keen on the NFF retaining him |

Abaribe is definitely one of the most useless politicians you will see in Nigeria. Instead of calling out what was a growing terrorist mindset in his background he was yapping Buhari printing useless T-shirts ndi-dot to score cheap political points and garner useless clout. That said Tinubu as the commander in chief can't afford to watch any section of Nigeria burn including the SE. This is a cancer he has to aggressively deal with decisively. These terrorists have shown that trying to engage with them peacefully is only emboldening them to do worse. All the SE governors should as a matter of urgency meet with Tinubu to map out military/police action to handle this menace. As a carrot approach I still think releasing Nnamdi Kanu would help the situation as annoying as that may be. raumdeuter: Shebi we saw how Abaribe and his fellow senators were falling over themselves to act as guarantor for Nnamdi Kanu , Osita Chidoka acting as his personal driver that time. We saw how Peter Obi was swearing that these guys are innocent saying "I see them everyday. I know them, I walk past them everyday in Onitsha, they are not terrorists"
All the opposition including non Ibos like FFK were doing pictures all around with Kanu visiting his country home to pay solidarity and to spite the Buhari govt
Now that the matter don tie wrapper, how many of them don relocate into the that Country home or the environs now?

Similar yes but not the same. The new coaching still have at least three or four FIFA windows to fine tune the squad, know the players and imbibe the tactics they want to go with before the AFCON in January next year. There's nothing about JP's tenure that really feels me with confidence that the team is going in the right direction. AndSunGorilla: But it looks like we are repeating a pattern here, we sacked Rohr before the AFCON now we are doing same with Pacero if the news is true. |

As much as I like Paserio I do think Nigerians should be allowed to coach Nigerians. Portugal will never employ a Nigerian to coach their team why should we the most educated and intelligent people in the world be employing others to run our football.

You can dictate and give yourself headache until you are blue in the face Osimhen will still spend his money emphasis HIS MONEY how he deems fit. If you want to encourage him to do something in Edo State it will definitely not be through insults and throwing of shade against any Victor. codemaniacs: I can dictate to any adult especially black men like Osimhen who don't understand the importance of spending your money and doing charity mainly where he grew up and mainly where his parents or origins or lineage is from..

I think it's presumptuous of you to dictate to a full grown adult how he should spend his money or give to charity. Osimhen has already done quite a lot for his community Olusosun where he was born. If he chooses in future to do something in Edo State where his late father comes from all well and good. Victor didn't grow up in Edo so it's understandable why he hasn't done anything yet however that doesn't mean things won't still change. Mane grew up and was bred in the Senegalese village he's currently helping with various charitable ventures so it's a no brainer. codemaniacs: This is foolishness if true..
He hasn't done anything in his hometown in Edo yet he wants to carry the whole Africa even Mane that has accomplished more than him limited his help and charity to mainly his hometown in Senegal..
Whoever is advising him needs to be sacked immediately.. |

You can't wake someone pretending to be asleep. There are other genuine issues you can use to criticize Tinubu but I've always found it laughable and ridiculous this constant querying of whether he went to Chicago State University especially when the institution has gone to great lengths to prove he did. forgiveness: Most you that ignorantly claimed Tinubu didn't go to school are myopic in reasoning.
They also claimed he is older than his age.
For your information, Tinubu attended Children Home school Ibadan, one of the first Nigerian-owned primary boarding school in Nigeria. Mainly for the purpose of keeping the children of Nigerians who went abroad to study or other reasons.
The founder was Tanimowo Ogunlesi. One of, if not the only woman that went with the Nigerian delegates to discuss Nigerian's independence in 1953.
I know because because my grandparents kept their 3 older children there while they were away.
Tinubu joined the school when the second born was just graduating .
While the 3rd was his senior and not up to 75years old.
Then, how is it possible Tinubu didn't attend primary school or he is 80 years old?
What are the forgery, misrepresentation etc you are talking about?
That he didn't go to university?
I don't even understand. |
