Bros, igbo people are being marginalized politically but we should not downplay the fact that there are more level playing ground given to the igbos in some places in the country. Infact, many places in the north were ceded to the igbos just allow them have places to stay and do business. Paniso in kano is one of them, while we keep building our minds that we cant move because of northerners, they are not as strong as we place them. Just do your thing and stop thinking even the hausa beggars are the ones holding us too.

What level playing field ? I have worked in Lagos and I know what it means to get recognition as an igvi in companies ....I know what it means to conduct board meeting in yoriba language in a multi tribal working environment, I know what it means to have encountered the term we are not renting to an Igbo person....I know what it means to have heard Omo Ibo you get money funmi owo jhoooor

Bros please redifine the level olayig thing again

If wind power can be introduced in Katsina, what is stopping wealthy Igbo men or our governors from building a wind power plant? You said you can't transmit our power, who told you that? Enugu electricity disco can transmit the power through out the SE.

Wondering power is a single tech...let me tell you something, I went to uyo, remember they built power plant but they only generate and then transkit to national grid then the national grid gives to whomever they want.. the uyo indigens ain't hot enough light

Nwokem, stop being emotional and stop and think for a second. Lets get one thing straight...Igbos are conquered people in Nigeria and sooner you all come to terms with that the quicker you will find a solution to fix your status. I am not an armchair critic, I call things what they are but human hates hearing the truth especially when it doesnt favor them. The Igbo doesnt need the validation of Buhari nor did they need to produce a President before they can gain respect. You people are obsessed with the way people look and perceive you that is your problem. Lets start with your governors because they are really the one that has the power to do anything. Charity begins at home. Is Buhari stopping you state governor from initializing industrial revolution, is he stopping you from building private power projects that can power your industries and neighborhood, did he stop your ignorant masses from coming out en masse to vote and pull millions of vote and thereby sending a serious message to the so called "northern tormentors"? Did Buhari stop Coscharis, Nestoil , Ibeto, Emeka Offor , Godwin Maduka and Anambra state government from mobilizing and invest massively into power projects ? Did Buhari stop your state governor from planting a million IROKO TREE a year. Get the ffuckk outa here dumbass nnigga always looking for somebody to blame for his problems.

1. Do they really vote ? There is a saying....those who vote don't have the power but those that count the vote

2. Have you ever heard of exclusive list ? The cola in Enugu can power east in the next 200yrs
The gas in Imo and Abia can also power...but they can build but they can't transmit....that's exclusive list
Career / Chioma Chima, Bringing To The Fore And Changing The Narrative Of Women In Ict by christopher123(m): 10:22am On Aug 20, 2018
"In our society, the women who break down barriers are those who ignore limits" Arnold Schwarzenegge

Looking at quote, one would understand that in a society that has the notion of women playing at the "other room" and background , one must always congratulate and commend the works of women making impact in the corporate world especially the Information and communication space. Having this in mind, Chioma Chima, the founder of the Oliver Cloud Solutions Nigeria has demonstrated sagacity and dexterity in the way she manages one of the most formidable ICT firms with the recent recognition by the by Association of Professional Woman Engineers of Nigeria.

The Entire Management and Staff of Olivet Cloud Solutions Nigeria Limited Congratulated Engr Chioma Chima on the conferment of award of recognition for her significant contributions towards the growth of Information Technology in the professional Industry by Association of Professional Woman Engineers of Nigeria.

Like most country of the world, women are underrepresented in Nigerian ICT space , with few women taking interest in STEM subjects and ICT. Chioma has been seen as a role models for women all over tbe country. Chioma and few other women in the ICT space has over the time demonstrated not only to Nigerian women , but African women that the role of women has changed and that women can be very much in tune with management of a company and also home.

For sure we have some big challenges to face. Only 30 percent of people working in the information and communication (ICT) sector are women. Women are under-represented at all levels in the ICT sector, especially in decision-making positions. With much emphasis, women can be encouraged to be in ICT sector , using Chioma and others as a reference point. With this , the low level of Representation can be bridged and sexism reduced.

https://etimes.com.ng/chioma-chima-bringing-to-the-fore-and-changing-the-narrative-of-women-ict-business-owners/

Notwithstanding, in being women and in having a somewhat different perspective from men, the businesses of successful female tech entrepreneurs tend to innovative. Their projects might not necessarily be flashy or sexy, but tend to offer practical solutions for real life problems, and thus very lucrative.

Although the way we have been socialised, as girls, can be a millstone around their necks, women also tend to be more careful and responsible. but with more sensitisation by Association of Professional Woman Engineers of Nigeria, who knows? In future we would have more Chiomas and Funke Opekes in the ICT ecosystem which has been foreseen as the biggest driver of the economy in years to come ,displacing oil and gas.

Changing that narrative, The Association of Professional Women Engineer of Nigeria APWEN was formed by a handful of women engineers led by Engr. (Mrs.) J. O. Maduka in 1982 and was formally inaugurated in 1983. It was originally meant to be a pressure group since most men hiring engineers then would rather have women in the kitchen and not on construction sites.

Bridging the gap of gender representation in ICT, the Olivet Cloud Solutions Nigeria Limited is a leading Sage X3 ERP, Sage 300 ERP (Accpac) and Sage CRM solution provider in the Nigeria. Based in Lagos, Olivet Cloud Solutions Nigeria Limited is a Sage partner with vision is to deliver innovative, tailored information technology solutions and services that contributes to the customer's success.

Unemployment in is higher in the SE/SS than in Borno state, but what are your own governors doing to help your own people? Nothing, they just send you to Lagos and other places in Nigeria to sell gala and pure water.

Their governor in Borno is obviously more caring and more responsible than your own useless governors because generation after generation, they look the other way and while millions of you scatter all over Nigeria to do menial work and tedious migrant labor.

You are in more suffer head situation than the people in Biro who are actually looking outmformtheir own people.

Show us how your own useless borehole and keke ambulance governors are looking out for you.

Show us how your own useless governors gave money to your people to start business and prevent generations after generations of ibo people from leaving their towns and villages to peddle gala and pure water, puff puff and fan yogo in Lagos and how they are different from shoe shinning.

You lots are just hate mongering hypocrites in worse situations and you are not in any better situations.

University of Ibadan Started as Yaba College, Lagos
The University of Ibadan has her origins in Yaba College (now YabaTech), founded in 1932 in Yaba, Lagos. The Yaba College is the first tertiary educational institute in Nigeria. Yaba College was transferred to Ibadan in 1948. That was when it became the University College of Ibadan. This is the name some of our fathers and grandfathers still call the University of Ibadan till today.
So, when did we start calling the institution University of Ibadan and when was it moved to its own site.

In February 1948, London University allowed Ibadan its special relationship scheme. Arthur Creech Jones, then Secretary of State for the Colonies, and an influential member of Elliot Commission, cut the first sod at the permanent site of the University College on 17 November, 1948, which thereafter became the Foundation Day.

How does this translate to the university being founded in 1962? UI remains the premiere university in Nigeria, nothing you can do about it.

I have been working in this company since late 2014. Initially we were three in the department, later the head of department was sacked, remaining two of us and the company didn't bring any replacement for the head.

Early last year my other colleague got another job and left too leaving only me as the sole staff in the department (IT department). Since then I've been the only person running the department, mind you the company is opening more branches and expanding.

Around December last year when the workload was too much I requested for another hands and the company promised to get me ASAP and even posted the job advert on the dailies but they didn't do any recruitment (upon the fact that many people applied).

Now I got a better job in a multinational and I dropped my resignation letter giving them a month notice but the company refused to accept my letter saying I cannot leave as there is nobody to take over from me. They have recruited people now but the people gave them a month before they can resume and I cannot wait because if I do I will lose my new place, all the information of the company IT wise is in my palm as the company run solely on IT for daily transactions.

Please I need professional advice on this because I am supposed to resume at my new place this coming April.

Any form of advice will do. Help a brother!

When will African children start reading and catching up with the rest of the world in knowledge instead of threading this forgotten path of middle Eastern myths ?

The Europeans are converting their old cathedrals into libraries, laboratories and museums.

Igbo are minorities yet you find them as indigenous population in these states....Not migrants ..Indigenous population

Abia
Imo
Anambra
Enugu
Ebonyi
Rivers
Delta
Edo
Benue
Parts of Cross River around Itigidi
Fringes of Akwa Ibom around Ngwa boundary

Equitorial guinea recognises Igbo language as one of the official languages due to Igbo that went there centuries ago....

Igbo population is over 40million yet some clowns call this population minority

Singapore , Luxembourg, Switzerland isn't upto 15 million each , UK is 60million

Yet monkeys said Igbo are minorities
