If uve already checked SOL and/or CSOL n ur occupation is there then the next thing is to get ur qualification assessed by ur assessing body which is the one beside ur nominated occupation on the list. When u know ur assessing body visit their website for more details. Once u get ur positive assessment the next thing will be to apply for ur visa but get assessed first n then u take it up from there. cutiefy: please someone should respond, what is the next procedure for PR in australia after IELTS. also, must I do teh process through an agent? pls help o |

Ok so the fact that the chosen name is not on ur passport or birth certificate won't matter cos its just for CV purposes right NNBB2012: The person needs to adopt one just for your cv and that doesn't change your real name. Everybody has preferred name that is easy to pronounce by people and that is the aim. |

Ok thx for the clarification.... pingu2k5: Nope, one doesnt need to have a job offer for NSW sponsorship, but the nominated occupation must be on the state's occupation list. |

What about people who don't have English names at all? NNBB2012: You are welcome. Tips for your cv: Your first name should be English name, Put Australian PR holder on top of your cv after your name, let your cv be achievements focussed that is how you were able to make savings etc.,your certifications would be good as well. Don't think only one cv would do; try and update your cv from time to time. Keep applying and don't give up. |

Congrats!!!!! Seems for ur nominated occupation the state doesn't need u to have a job first or NSW doesn't need u to have a job first before they nominate u. That's really cool. pingu2k5: I don get alert, God win. I got my grant for 190 visa yesterday. Thanks to God and good people on this thread. Ok thx a lot for the explanation....I'll just give it a try while I still continue what I wanna do too NNBB2012: In my own case, I put everything about me in Nigeria on my CV then and they still called me. Anyway, that was about 4years ago, so things have changed now. It is really hard to get such opportunity these days except your skill is really scarce to get here in Australia. The so-called idea is specifically for the PR holders who can fly in to Australia to attend interview or request that interview should be scheduled so that they can prepare for their trip. I mentioned it to one PR holder that assisted to come over here and he did it while still in the UK. Honestly, it worked for him and was able to attend interviews qucikly. |

Thanks for enlightening me. But how do u get an Australian number for Skype while still in Nigeria. Sorry for prying NNBB2012: It is very simple. All you need to do is to update your CV and add Australian PR on it. Do not put address. Get a skype account with Australia number and route it to your mobile in case an employer calls you. The job that brought me to Austalia I got it while in Nigeria with my Nigerian's address and mobile number. |
Travel › Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 4:44pm On Jul 24, 2015 |
NNBB2012 I need to understand something from ur response. U said he shud start applying from Nigeria, how will they fairly consider him since the address on his CV will still be Nigerian with no ties to Australia n no way of showing ur now a PR holder how will he be considered for a job from here? I know people get jobs from here but I have no clue as to how they do it NNBB2012: Your hubby's job might likely determine where you will eventually settle. You should be able to fit in in any of the city. He should not wait to arrive before he starts to apply for job. www.seek.com.au and www.indeed.com.au will be of great help. Considering his qualification and experience, he might likely end up in Sydney or Melbourne, so prepare for high cost on rents although it is relative.
Children can be enrolled at anytime of the year once they have reached school age. Your children must be 5years old before they can start primary school in NSW. Every state has their own school age. So, where you will eventually settle should determine that.
Getting a supervisor for your PhD should not be an issue. As a PR holder, your PhD is tuition free. |

thx a lot...this is so helpful. scrollmeout: Hi E-family,
This is for Engineers who are preparing their CDRs for EA submission. Here are a few points i got from reviewing a report from a nairalander:
1. Your CV must be 3 pages or less. 2. Have separate files (pdf prefarably) for each of your CDRs and other docs. i.e. 1 each for each CDR. 3. Prepare your Continuous Professional Development document in a table with these distinct columns: S/N, Title/Description, Description of the activity, starting date, duration, venue 4. Prepare your summary statement as a separate document, 5. Each document should have a cover page with your name and date.
Some of these i learnt from personal experience and at he online submission stage. |

U can get this info n more from engineersaustralia.org.au N now they only accept online applications so that means u will scan ur transcripts n all others docs. It depends if u want to assess just ur qualifications or qualifications n relevant skilled work...between 93000 and 140000. Estimated price range. Go to the website n surf berexio1: How do one go about qualification assessment? I am an engineer. Dooes it require my sch sending transcript or can I do it mysef online. And how much is the total cost in naira. Tnx |

@NNBB2012 and the house EA got back to me and said that my transcript is what will really be scrutinized so once it conforms to the standards they have set for a professional engineer then I'll be assessed as a professional engineer. I think y most people get associate degree assessment is due to some courses not done during the degree. all departmental courses done during my degree were also done in my ND. but I'll still send both for assessment. I'll suggest that everyone going for assessment shud try to find out courses being offered in that course around the world n try to make up for the ones not in their transcript. cos I think all assessing bodies compare the transcripts to a standard. |
