thank u so much for breaking it down for me I really appreciate it. then its general for me....thanks so much for ur assistance. NNBB2012: According to DIBP Migration booklet 6, it is stated that, "except your assessing body requires academic, DIBP usually requires General module". It means DIBP preference is IELTS general module eventhough they accept IELTS academics as well. As for you, I would advise you to do IELTS general since you are assessing with Engineers Australia. As for me, I did general module for both EA assessment and DIBP migration points. |

thank you so much. but I'm clear as to what EA requires I saw it in the MSA booklet. I'm not clear on the needs of DIBP. the quote I gave earlier was from DIBP website n it wasn't made clear that general IELTS has to be taken n u said its only general IELTS that DIBP accepts. I just really wanna make sure its still so n hasn't changed before I take the IELTS so I don't waste cash. thx so much in advance NNBB2012: Read it from here. https://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/FAQ/2217 |

yea that's true...we keep on learning. how many hours left? bjayzeez: Thanks bro. Yea I have been distracting myself with the free internet. ...
I think it's because it's never happened to me before. I have frequently used transits and I've never had to get afresh boarding pass.... We learn everyday |

@NNBB2012 pls I'm sorry to drag u back, but I went thru the DIBP website n saw this " You have achieved a score of at least 6 in each of the four test components (speaking, reading, listening and writing) in an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test that has been undertaken in the three years immediately prior to lodging the visa application." they didnt specify academics or general. is there somewhere else I can get this info? cos I tell u general test no be beans oh |
Travel › Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 3:58pm On Jun 22, 2015 |
thank u so much!!! I wud really have wasted cash on the academic cos it will make me write another one for DIBP. thanks so much. NNBB2012: EA accepts either IELTS academics or general. You need IELTS general for migration point. It is wise to sit for general so as not to waste money.
Do I need to complete the IELTS test?
All applicants applying to have their skills assessed by Engineers Australia are required to provide evidence of their English competency. Applicants are required to have achieved a minimum of Band 6 in each of the 4 modules of Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking in either the general or academic modules of the IELTS.
Further information on the IELTS can be found in the booklet or at the IELTS website. |

sorry about that bro...the wait can be horrible. but try to keep urself company with sports arenas or something if they have cos they have a sports center in malaysia where u can just keep watching sports and pass time with free wifi. but I tot that if u need another boarding pass u will know since the one ur with doesnt show ur final destination. either way they shud have given u when u checked in at the transit desk instead of waiting for u to ask for it. sorry bro. ur wait will be over before u know it. bjayzeez: So, anyone flying through Singapore should not forget to pick up a fresh boarding pass once you get to Singapore. Else if you stroll to the boarding gate, you will be asked to go get it and stand a great chance of missing your flight. Just a tip. I'm stuck in changi for 20 hours |

now I'm officially confused,so some assessing bodies require general n others require academic IELTS...On EA I didn't see any one that is required but all along I've decided to do academic cos this is what I've done before some years back. |
Travel › Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 8:53pm On Jun 20, 2015 |
the only confusion is that u won't know if assessment started since n ur just being told or if it just started now ur being told. but either way u need to wait n pray. abeg when I'm ready to do my CDR I'm gonna be disturbing u a lot.so pls get ready scrollmeout: Mine was online. I actually paid on March 26th, making the 'incoming' week the 13th, sorry. The current turnaround time is 13weeks, so I'm rather surprised they are just commencing the assessment. |

I contacted EA recently asking how long assessment takes n they told me accredited qualifications takes 11 weeks,non-accredited takes 13 weeks n this is usually d minimum n depends on the number of qualifications they're assessing at that time. so bro the only thing u can do is wait. don't worry when it comes out u will be able to apply for ur visa early in the financial year due to start in 11days. scrollmeout: Hi Engineers in the house, it's been a week since i noticed my status on Engineers Australia portal change from queued for assessment to assessment in progress. I also received an email to that effect. Incidentally, this week also makes it the 13th week since I submitted. Please, how long does it usually take to get an outcome after this notification or do I have to wait much further? Thanks |

I think I'm being misunderstood. in all I said I know they're gonna be scanned, I know that no hard copies r being sent. just wanted to clarify that if all ur docs r originals then no need to see the four walls of a court for certification. but thx for the clarification though. I'm still gathering up my docs that I'll send to EA. ferdimako: ACS doesn't have time for hard copies. Originals are deemed so when u photocopy and certify. DIBP accepts that too or color scan or photocopy without certification.
Go to EA and find out what and how they want from u. |
Travel › Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 8:12pm On Jun 19, 2015 |
ok so that means if all my docs r originals I won't certify any...that's exactly what I was trying to say. thx a lot. only docs that r not coloured or r photocopies that I need to certify Ifexsco: We r saying the same thing,I didn't certify it cos it was original (had colored stamp). EA does softcopy these days and that's why I said you shld certify before scanning. |
Travel › Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 7:38pm On Jun 19, 2015 |
that's awesome...I'm happy for u. then I need to find out if EA accepts only certified docs. so that I know I need to certify all docs. but that means ACS doesn't accept originals then since u can't certify an original doc ferdimako: ACS accepts only certified copies of documents and they must be uploaded. I love them for that.
I will get my project done this week, hopefully get my transcript in July... my reassessment is likely in August.
I'm moving on... |
Travel › Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 6:56pm On Jun 19, 2015 |
ok thx a lot. that's comforting to hear ferdimako: What's d difference? I used a staffer at another university to pick up my B.Sc transcript and will use him again for Masters'. ACS accepted it even though the guy's name and university address were repeated on each page and a warning that only the university has it and can use it.
I don't know what EA accepts...and I will definitely use the same copies for DIBP. |
Travel › Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 6:54pm On Jun 19, 2015 |
thx alot Ifexsco. but I tot that when ur sending an original document u don't need to certify it Ifexsco: I used my transcript which I had since 2008,It is an original though, got it whn my sch stil sends transcripts to companies.I didn't even have to certify it cos u sent it hardcopy to EA.my take is,apply with your certified student copy but explain the suitation to them(dat u can't be givenan orignal by ur sch). My take though...certifying docs makes dem seem a little more authentic. |
Travel › Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 6:25pm On Jun 19, 2015 |
hi ferdimako, pls tell me if EA/DIBP will accept student copy of my transcript so I know where I stand. thx |
Travel › Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 1:46pm On Jun 19, 2015 |
Hello house, pls I requested for my transcript to be sent to a company so I can have it n upload to EA. I just got a call from my sch n they said they can't send it to that company without the company requesting for it themselves. Ling story short the man said the best I can get is a student copy I wanna know if EA will accept a student copy of my transcript when I'm uploading it to them.
Thx everyone |

I don't think assessing bodies look at financial year start n end. n u know it can waste time so to me it's best done as early as possible so u can submit ur application early enough in the financial year. just my tot Jetspeed: Note yet. Application to be submitted in July. |

has her assessing body assessed her qualifications yet? Jetspeed: .

I saw South Australia - Adelaide sponsoring Economist.

EA didn't really define a clear minimum as far as u can fill the career episodes. so once I get a positive assessment the grant won't be hindered by number of years of exp after getting 60+points right? ferdimako: What's d minimum EA needs? If ur Xyears gets u that...the worse case is not having any migration points from work experience... then u battle to make that up from superior English test bands. |
Travel › Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 10:40am On Jun 15, 2015 |
I aim to get 20 point with English test. according to EA they said u can apply for assessment even though u don't have enough Years of experience as far as u can fill ur career episodes. so I asked once I get a positive assessment n I can get my 60+points without claiming points from years of exp I hope getting the grant won't hinge on years of exp since its a skilled visa bellong: ^^^^ Your chance is dependent on your English score. If you can get 20point from English, its all done.
If EA needs experience to assess you, then u must get the minimum experience required. |

what kind of visa do u wanna migrate on? if its skilled, then visit http://www.immi.gov.au/Work/Pages/SkillSelect/SkillSelect.aspx on the left side of the page go to visas n then permanent visas. choose the one u wanna apply for, click on it. on then next page scroll down a little n click on visa applicants. the u will see document checklist. when u get ur documents we'll talk about how to submit them. but first know the visa ur applying for n then come back here for further advise cos u dont just go straight and apply for a visa, there r other things that need to be done. but most important is to get all the documents on the checklist. the major thing is if u can get up to 60 points...ur age will fetch u 25 points, degree 15 points, work exp 5 points, which is now 45 points. to cut it u will need to get 8 in each part of the ielts so u can get the points benchmark. cos if ur just competent in English (7 in each) u will get 10 points n it will not be enough. n u need to get ielts before u start with engineers australia. n engineers australia only accepts ielts. so u need to focus more on the ielts n get it wonderfully. dozie2014: Good day colleagues,
I have just started following this trend. I need your kind advice.
I am planning to migrate to Australia through the work scheme.

Your response will go a long way helping me achieve this noble goal.
