entrep88: Oga pls keep quite. I advised based on experience. Forget whats on paper, many cars imported to our country are not designed for this hot climate hence the reasons for this modifications to suite our weather. The first camry i used had this same issue, i got the experience when we changed to double cell as the single cell could not handle the existing temp. I wasnt a fan of technicians removing thermostats, but over time it seems the best solutions to some overheating challenges. I pity who you offloaded that problem to. |

swscorpio: The Agent keep telling me copart promise to send the Title, last week he even told me copart said the already sent the title to the Shipping company, but still whenever I check the Sallaum website using the Car VIN no. is still showing me Received(pending) instead of Received(delivered). copart will not send to the shipping company unless the agent used the address of the shipping company as his title receiving address. They will send to the account holder who purchased the car. There is a place he hasn't filled on his profile for that particular car. There is a column of won lots where he is supposed to fill the method of receiving title for this particular car. Until he does that, it may be difficult. They have automated most of those things. |
Car Talk › Re: Car Title Pending From Copart by chukel(m): 8:36pm On Jun 13, 2020 |
Gabapentin:
you just made a whole lot of assumptions in this long story you posted
if the title of OPs car is an NY title, that could be one of the reasons, I know that because we have a copart car pending with sallaum because of the dispute between NY state and the US federal agencies including customs
my second post was that he should contact the titleholder directly, last year we also had a copart title pending car, luckily the titleholder was Geico so we were able to reach out to them directly and they sent it via courier which we paid for
don't always assume you are the only one with information about a subject you are very ignorant. Try to learn. New York issue has since been resolved. Be open to learning. Don't be left in the stone age. Also stop thinking too highly of yourself. He cannot contact the title holder. Copart doesnt have the title. He can't contact copart for that title cos he used an agent. Only that agent is known to copart. Once copart gets the title from the insurance company or individual, they will send it to the agent. |

Piyke: Not bad! seriously. Different people can concentrate on tools specific to a particular system in the car. When we need our individual work to be done, we reason it out and pull tools together. Will make procuring tools even cheaper and more convenient. It's worth a try. |

I'm impressed a lot of people are into DIY. However, why don't we help ourselves and reach out to one another, combine tools and solve our car issues (for those within same geographical location). Who knows, partnership might result from that leading to a big foremost service workshop. |
Car Talk › Re: Car Title Pending From Copart by chukel(m): 7:15pm On Jun 13, 2020 |
swscorpio: Hello Everyone,
Please can someone kindly advice me on how to go through the issue of title pending. An agent bought a car for me from copart with title pending since March this year, uptil now there's no authentic information on where the car is, thought I checked it(using VIN no) on the Sallaum website is still indicating Received(Pending) instead of Received(Delivered). Thank you so much. sallaum line or any shipping line will not accept a car without title. So most likely it was dumped at a storage yard close to sallaum port. However, he had obtained a dock receipt for the vehicle. Reason you see "receive pending". |
Car Talk › Re: Car Title Pending From Copart by chukel(m): 7:13pm On Jun 13, 2020 |
Gabapentin: new York title?
if yes, that's the reason, there is a political dispute
if not, you need to find the title holder and contact them directly has nothing to do with new york. Some cars are sold without title and buyers told title will be provided within 30days. However, sometimes you could stay up to 6 months without seeing that title. You guys jump into copart to buy cars without asking necessary questions. Title pending cars are usually cheap and not bid by foreign buyers for this reason. Unknowingly you jumped into it. Let him mail the yard manager where he bought it from, requesting they send it to him. Hope you are not paying storage charge somewhere for the vehicle. |

Politics › Re: If You Were The President Of Nigeria, How Would You Make Nigeria Better? by chukel(m): 12:39pm On Jun 13, 2020 |
kikero: 1. Raise money for the national treasury by removing all subsides, especially subsides on petrol and electricity.
This would enable Nigeria save money, and attract foreign investment in our power and petroleum sector.
Also raise taxes, so that Nigeria can have a tax to GDP ratio of at least 20 percent
2. Fight corruption. Aggressively implement IPPIS
3. Spend more on technical and vocational education, with the aim of training a well equipped technical cadre to build our industries
4. Increase tarrifs on imported goods that we already manufacture. Incentives provided to manufacturers including ease of importing raw materials and spare parts... including favorable dollar regimens.
5.End funding for Hajj and Christian pilgrimage. If you want to go on pilgrimage,do it on your own money. Thanks.
6. 10 year plan to link all state capitals by railways, with the eventual aim of privatising Nigeria railways at the end. If possible, loans would be taken to achieve that goal.
7. Tertiary education will no longer be subsidized. Universities would be free to raise fees . Only Polytechnic and colleges of education would be subsidized, and funded. We must train more technicians, primary school teachers , et Al.
8. Federal character at all levels.
9 More funding and training for our special forces and COIN training.
10. The police will be reformed. All policemen must undergo three years training with the aim of getting a bachelor's degree in policing. This training will be reduced to one year for graduate recruits. In addition, efforts would be made to increase funding for the Police. Also efcc, icpc, naptip, dss will be merged into a new agency called the National Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Bureau.which would become a branch of the Police, reviving the old E department.
11. Derivation for oil producing areas will be increased by 10 percent to 23% with an option of further five percent increase, aim towards increased development
12. On power, we must build 3 nuclear power plants, capable and f generating 5000mw each in the next 10 years easier said than done. These are in the face of dwindling mono economy? So from your outline, how many has the sitting president done? |

Kingosytex: Well, the first step will be to reduce the number of law makers breakers in the legislature.
Those guys are practically doing nothing to earn the billions they are being paid.
I will also champion massive sensitisation and re-orientation. Virtues like truth, honesty and contentment must be inculcated in the lives of the upcoming generations because this present generation is a lost cause. as a democratically elected president, you cant do that. Those law breakers are the ones to enact the law that would sack them. So how is that possible. You see that leadership isn't easy. The only solution you have is not doable. |
Car Talk › Re: BMW Owners' Forum by chukel(m): 12:27pm On Jun 13, 2020 |
HeavenlyBang: No issue happens to everyone. The E60 M5 had a penchant for throwing rods. Happens to most cars, but I bet there are some people it's never happened to.
All it means is that it's statistically a lot more likely to happen than not.
Edit: To be exact, my car has its fair share of issues. It eats brake pads like nothing else. Leather peels. It's gas-thirsty. The key is knowing what faults you can live with.
255 reported cases out of hundreds of thousands of cars sold is an insignificant percentage, for example. Go on Bimmer forums and see what owners complain about. There are still a whole lot of BMW users who are enjoying their rides of which I'm one. Some people have tranny issues on G35 and then make a generalisation that all G35s have tranny problem. Then tell people don't buy. That's wrong. Maintenance is always key. Simple. Use right parts and lubricants, take proper care of the car and most things will be well. For your car brakes, check your calipers. They are stuck. In the long run, may condemn your transmission. This issue will also increase the fuel consumption, though your ride is a thirsty ride. |
Car Talk › Re: BMW Owners' Forum by chukel(m): 12:02pm On Jun 13, 2020 |
HeavenlyBang: That's nice. You haven't experienced it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
I haven't been arrested or harrased by SARS either. I guess SARS brutality is just a lie. it exists doesn't mean it happens to everyone. If you followed all the problems that exist in that G35 of yours, you wouldn't buy it. Every car has its own issue. How you maintain your car is key. Have you experienced any of these issues on your car?
