Please if you do not mind me asking, my passport will expire august next year which is more than 8months now ..does it mean I have to renew for new one before sending to them when they request for it..or can I still use it and renew when it expires ..please I need urgent answer on this because am in between renewing or leaving it because of stress and time it would take please

Anyways from their statement, you would notice they said, VISA would not be issued beyond the validity of your passport. MEANING: if the validity of your passport is 8 months it is 8 months visa or below that, you would be issued.

My candid Advice: Apply for renewal and try the 64 pages and 10 Years Passport when renewing. It saves you the stress of travelling to different locations when your passport expires and it also gives you the opportunity of multiple usages in case God butter your bread when you travel

Please how is your PPR request letter like? Did they specify a particular location/place for you to send your passport to? Or just the nearest VFS center?

The reason I'm asking is to confirm if one can collect the visa from another country

Usually this is the content of the letter

This is in reference to your application for temporary residence. A decision has been made on
your application. We require your passport to finalize processing your application.

Passport requirements

• Please provide your passport or travel document, with a copy of this letter.
• There must be at least one blank page in your passport.
• Your passport must be valid for the duration of your expected length of stay in Canada.
• Please note that we cannot issue a visa beyond the expiry date on the passport.

Your passport must be received by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada within
30 days from the date of this letter. Failure to do so could result in the refusal of your application.
Please ensure that a copy of this letter is included with your passport.

To find out where to send your passport, visit our website:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/account/where-submit-passport.html

Thank you for the interest you have shown in Canada.

I think you can submit it to the nearest to you. But it might cost you, it is usually better to submit to the VFS Office where you had your biometrics.

Mine was Abuja and it was at no cost

It has been a week since VFS notified me that my passport had been sent to the embassy. No feedback since then.

I am fasting, weak and dumbfounded to even shout and be happy. Brethren, Indeed God's time is the best.

Please house, my school sent my international tuition award yesterday and I was asked to claim it through my direct deposit banking details. For those who has gotten such award, did you open a bank account from Nigeria to claim it or waited till resumption? They said if I don't claim it, it will be deposited back to my tuition account as credit toward future study.

I'm not sure about the deadline for this claims and I don't want to come off as naive by emailing the school.

Pls any advise would be appreciated.

P. S My eligibility is yet to start but I'm less worried since my school has suggested I resume online and I've been approved to give online TA classes. It will end in praise

You don't need to open bank details in order to accept your award. Simply go to your student portal, and check where your financial details are, there you would find scholarships and award. You can see where the international tuition award might be and accept the offer.

Direct Deposit is sometimes optional and it is helpful when you get to Canada and open your bank account. Then you can include your bank details, Direct Deposit is a system that allows you to withdraw funds from your student portal to your bank account. It takes at least 3 working days and the money would hit your bank account.

Congratulations on your award. Actually speaking from experience with Simon Fraser University, Same province with your school.

Just got this mail from one of the emails I have been sending constant mails.

Good day,

Please be advised that our office is not the office responsible for processing your file. Please use a webform (https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx) to ensure that your enquiry is directed to the correct office. Note that enquiries received via methods other than the Webform will not be actioned. Sending messages to multiple offices regarding your application delays not only your own application, but the applications of all other applicants as well.

Please try and focus more on Webforms

Good morning to everyone in the house, please I'm asking for my spouse. Currently teaching Mathematics in secondary school with BSc Statistics (4.3 CGPA) and intend to apply for MSc Statistics. The Canadian universities is having in mind are:
Simon Fraser university
University of Calgary
University of Victoria.
Please what are the chances of getting admission into these universities and hope what is doing currently will not affect chances of getting Visa approval. Your inputs will be appreciated. Thanks

Try Simon Fraser university, I am a student there and I can share my thoughts with you. Meanwhile, it offers one of the cheapest tuitions in Canada but living expense is actually high there anyway.

It’s not too late to withdraw your application to Canada. Go ahead and withdraw and save yourself that stress. Some of us are too strong willed with Faith that can move mountains... I was expecting at the end to see you didn’t apply to Canada or you withdrew and applied to some other country... Our Grace is different! Thank you!!! God has settled it!!! What God cannot do does not exist

You really don't seem to understand what @Hafeez6948 was saying. If you do, you won't make this statement.

Just brief about my story

I started my studies online in September 2020 due to Covid-19 and in the same month applied for my Study Permit. I was denied the permit due to insufficiency of funds, but due to resilience continued my studies till date.

After putting together some funds and getting funding opportunities, I reapplied for the study permit the second time on the 30th of October, 2021 and since then I have not received any official feedback.

It is more than 8 months now, I have written to IRCC several times and it has always been the generic mail response. Last month I applied for Global Case Management System (GCMS) Notes and it states, "Based on the LOA, funds, and documents provided, PA appears to be a BF student."

Which means I am a bonafide Student, but till now I have not gotten my approval.

I have been praying, fasting, joining NSPPD prayer sessions, and enlisted pastors and colleagues to pray along with me for funding and approval. I have doubted God, broken, depressed, and at a point beer no dey even high me because prayers wasn't calming my mind down.

Nothing on this earth made any sense any longer. I was fighting everyone at work above all can you fight God?

I have still gone back to him, I am now 28 days into my fast and Saturday it would be nine (9) months since I reapplied for my Study permit.

So if it is about your faith in God IRCC would shake it, and make you doubt God. @Hafeez6948 is simply stating bitter truth. I had the option of heading to US and Australia even for PhD and I refused and choose Canada. See am nah, I am now going back and seeking for same admissions I ignored for the almighty Canada.

Omo you no go understand the feeling, we are all in this journey differently. I don't want to start stating the personal details of what I have lost cos I fixated my mind on Canada

Cheers and lets encourage one another on this journey it is not easy. The rich ones are not on nairaland nah calls them dey put

From the statement on your last GCMS notes, your application is on the path of approval.

Congratulations in advance.

Brethren, thank you for giving me hope.

But for me I have moved on from the entire process. Today marks 8 months since I applied for the second time. This is after studying online for about 2 years now.

My dear, my thoughts are now in applying for Phd in Australia. If Canada approves fine, if they don't approve, fine.

My study in canada is on hold for this term, as I and my supervisor are working out modalities as to how I can complete my studies online.

I reached out to an MP through my supervisor and this is the summary I got from the MP's office

Study Permit received October 30, 2021
Medicals Passed and valid until May 4th, 2023
Criminality Passed
An interview was recommended for Eligibility assessment (waiting for this)
Security not initiated

Last GCMS Notes I ordered stated that "Based on the LOA, funds, and documents provided, PA appears to be a BF student."

Please what are your thoughts about this?

My dear I have sent mail and webforms and I am tired. With evidences and everything ooh, but still. With the recent approvals, seems nah highest bidder now ooh.

If you get the money and the right papers, you get approved. But lets keep waiting, but for me, I have given up ooh. 7 months baby don get sense nah, that is what I have been using to wait. Everyday suspense and anxiety, omo I think say I strong, no be for this one. IRCC really break me.

Good Evening Everyone,

Please how long does it take to for an Upfront Medical Examination to be updated.

My previous upfront medical exams expired in February and i repeated it on the 25th of April and submitted via email same day and also submitted via webform the next day.

Although i got confirmation of submission by IRCC on Thursday 28 April.

So how long before it would reflect on my portal?

Please has any of you come across this challenge?
My GCMS notes just came in and the pre-assessment reads thus:

"Based on the LOA, funds, and documents provided, PA appears to be a BF student."

What does BF mean?

And what do you think needs to be done ?

For context
I am a second time applicant, reapplied on 30 October, 2021
