james1:When did samoks mention ndokwa or aniocha? obviously you are dealing with identity issues. thats exactly what guilt does to a soul. also who told you or where did you read that those you mentioned weren't igbo? "take your time o"! |
ChinenyeN:I think they are on a mission to resurrect the Igbo State Union but of course under the name Ohanaeze. Which isn't a bad Idea if handled right. The Igbo State Union was one of the most feared political/socio-cultural organizations in Nigeria. We are at a time where Igbo so-called "leaders" are selling us out for their own interest which is Presidency. To me, Igbos don't need to be focusing on presidency, it is not important at the moment. They need to be focusing on unity such as banding connecting igbo businesses together economically, building a strong political front for the Igbo, protection of all means for the Igbo ,in every part of Nigeria physical protection(arms) and Legal protection, et al. It seems that Ohanaeze is on that path. If they did endorse him it would have been out of Igbo interest and not out of the desperate need of an Igbo president. |
Ileke-IdI:I'm not a tribalist, just enjoy debating so i use fire against fire at times to even things out. I'm a pan-africanist. Enjoy :[flash=400,400] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MqpbMezDxI&feature=rec-LGOUT-exp_stronger_r2-2r-6-HM[/flash] |

Kobojunkie:I'm beginning to think your a clown. A goofy female is really unattractive. Spot on. ![]() Anyways back on topic, I think that we should not jump the gun so quick. The story may be untrue. It is yet to be supported by any other newspaper so i suggest we keep our eyes open and if anybody sees another news article to support it then they should paste it. |
Gbawe:The move that hurt GJ the most was the exoneration of MEND. It was a premature move that both intellects and illiterates read the same way.Regional affiliation. Most of us politically conscious nigerians remember are reminded of the time GJ lashed out on Yaradua for going against a position dealing with the ND that jonathan found as unfavorable to him. Many of us see this as a thumb screw to jonathan, a president should never show what his weekness(s) is. By his premature utterance and the handling of MEND and Okah matters, jonathan has just entered Niger Delta politics. At least thats how many see it. If I were a political strategist now that I've found his weakness, I would beef up a conspiracy of jonathan/niger delta regionalism. This would definitely bring his name down to the dirt. As for Ohanaeze, I'm beginning to doubt that they actually endorsed jonathan. Reason being, they did not announce a meeting like they stated they would when it was time to make a decision. As for the SW PDP governors, they are playing politics. They know whatever announcement that was months ago after the meeting with OBJ will be accredited to him. At least that's what I think. And with GJ's blunder it give them an extra excuse to terminate their "endorsement". |
The news is only found on 1 newspaper site so im kind of skeptical. The story may not be true. Let's keep our eyes open. |
ChinenyeN:why the Hmph? |
IBB and Atiku can say goodbye to the southern votes if this is true. The south may now be united for GEJ. ![]() |
Anambra: Jonathan commissions Innoson vehicle plant Published on 16 October 2010 with 0 comments JUSTIN OZUZU, Nnewi President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday commissioned Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Limited (IVM), Nnewi, Anambra State, among other projects also commissioned in his one-day visit to the state. While commissioning the project President Jonathan commended the chairman of the company, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, who he said established the company to create job opportunities, and as well, improve the economy of the nation, adding that it was his pleasure to be associated with the great achievement of the chairman of IVM. President Jonathan described the event as a day of happiness which he said was an indication of the drive he expected as the country entered another fifty years of Nigeria as an independent nation. In 1960, the number of African countries that featured at the same level of economic and industrial development have all left us behind. The present Nigerian generation agreed that we must retrace our history and move forward, meet them up and even surpass them, the President noted. He said he could remember that not too long ago, he commissioned mass transit vehicles in Abuja for Bank of Industry and he had told them that Nigeria would not continue importing vehicles and other equipment, whether electronic military hardwares, because of the country's high consumption rate. President Jonathan assured that his administration would work out modalities to ensure that some of the foreign companies establish their plants in Nigeria, promising that his Chief Economic Adviser is currently on that. I'm indeed happy that Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Plant is not just assembling parts that are imported. But from all indication, it is only the engine that is being imported from China. Apart from that, every other thing is manufactured here. Even in abroad, no particular company produces the whole parts, without importing parts from other companies, the President concluded. In his speech, Governor Peter Obi said that IVM is the first indigenous vehicle manufacturing plant. He regretted that immediately after the foundation laying ceremony, the Chinese people that came to commence construction at the company were kidnapped which eventually led to the death of one of them. He said the ugly incident prompted the Chinese government and their people to pull out of the company and only returned after series of negotiations. Chief Chukwuma in his address said the day would remain memorable in the history of the company, adding that it was tough and rough at the beginning of the motor project. We never knew we could survive the ups and downs and then have a day like this when the President of Africa's most populous nation will be physically present to officially commission the company, he said. Chief Chukwuma said that the mission of the company is to drastically reduce the prices of vehicles and cut down the country's dependence on imported vehicles, saying that it did it with motorcycles and would do it again with vehicles. http://www.champion.com.ng/displaycontent.asp?pid=1364 |
2011: Ohanaeze backs Jonathan Published on 16 October 2010 with 0 comments LEONARD OKACHIE https://www.champion.com.ng/imageholder/200px-Ohanaeze_logo.jpg APEX Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has urged the Igbo nation to support en-masse, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan in his 2011 Presidential ambition. The group in a statement signed by its President-General, Amb. Raph Uwechue, said after wide consultation over several months, among Igbo people at home and abroad, it has endorsed Jonathan, who is a credible new-generation Presidential candidate that has emerged from the South-South geo-political zone. It positioned that it does not subscribe to the creeping intensification of the North-South political divide, through a two-way zoning formula, stressing that there is little doubt that such a bi-polar demarcation of our country seriously militates against the desired progressive consolidation of national unity. Ohanaeze Ndigbo however said that it firmly believes in the reality and absolute equality of the six zones and holds the view that the topmost executive office in the land Prime Minister or President, which has eluded the two geo-political zones of South-South and South-East since the birth of the nation a century ago, should now go to them in turn in unbroken succession. The statement partly reads: At independence in 1960, what our founding fathers settled for was a Federal structure with three regions, East-North-West. Clearly, this decisive colonial concept of two detachable alternate units, North and South, a residual echo of Lord Lugard's Amalgamation of 1914, did not survive into independent Nigerian nation. A fourth region- the Midwest, was created by regular constitutional amendment in 1963 Consequently, the politically powerful and strategic positions of President and Vice-President, Senate President and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and other important national offices, by established federal character convention, always look into appropriate account of the distribution and rotation of offices among the six geo-political zones. Ohanaeze Ndigbo is strongly committed to this equity-oriented formula, which creates a comfortable sense of belonging for all Nigerians by ensuring fairness in dealing with the interests of our various ethnic groups, thus reinforcing the needed unity in diversity and stability of very promising but still fledgling nation http://www.champion.com.ng/displaycontent.asp?pid=1359 |
