Onlytruth:
The biggest irony is that most of these Alaba boys have super decent houses (homes really) in the east.
Lagos will end up being a "market" for Anambra and Igbo boys while "home" will be built in the East.
We hustle in Lagos, and "eat" in the East. lmao!

If you need a rope, I'd be happy to "donate" one.
My broda it has always been like that. grin

By saying Anambra is the brain box of Nigeria ,it means Nigeria cannot function without Anambra. That Anambra is the engine that drives Nigeria. That is a very heavy statement that he should not have made at all. A leader like Hugo Chavez of Venezuela will never make a statement like that at least not in that manner. A leader should think about the consequences of his remarks before he speaks. I do not have anything against Anambra or any other state for that matter but I despise cheap politics. Cheap politics that is meant to deceive the unsuspecting populace into voting for a particular candidate. In plain terms it is called a.z.z kissing and that is what Jonathan is doing.

Since American is a model for our "democracy" State like Texas is called lone star state and Texans would tell  you dont mess with Texas, does that mean that the rest of 49 states are irrelevant? Texas would even boast that she can separate from the union any time she wants to.California is known for Hollywood movies, Silicon Valley where companies like google, facebook, and yahoo etc were hatched. New York City is the financial capital does that  mean that every other state doesn't have poo to offer? GEJ was on a working visit to Anambra, so if he were in Delta, he would have said something like  power house or Saudi Arabia of Nigeria. Lagos could called Dubai or NYC of Nigeria.
Is it that serious? huh
Politics2011: Pdp Northern Consensus Candidate Emerges Friday by chyz(op): 4:09am On Oct 19, 2010
2011: PDP northern consensus candidate emerges Friday
News Oct 19, 2010

By Dayo Benson
LAGOS—BARING any last minute change, the much awaited consensus candidate from the four Peoples Democratic Party PDP Northern presidential aspirants is expected to emerge Friday.

While the four northern aspirants, namely Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Lt. Gen. Aliyu Gusau and Governor Bukola Saraki camps in conjunction with a committee put in place for that purpose are set to name the consensus candidate Friday, the Presidential Campaign Council of Goodluck/Sambo ticket has been reaching out to more governors, powerful individuals and groups in the North.

Vanguard gathered, yesterday, that the move was to counter the effect the naming of the consensus candidate might have when the name was eventually announced.

Impeccable sources said this was why President Jonathan had been visiting the North more frequently in the past few weeks.

His visit to Zamfara State last week was, however, not without a melodrama occasioned by bomb scare, a development the Presidency viewed as an attempt by his political opponents to scare him away from visiting the North.

The source said: “But the President demonstrated that he is the Commander-in -Chief by going ahead with the visit though he was not aware of the game plan of his opponents.”

Already the Presidential Campaign Council which met last Tuesday in Abuja to perfect its strategies is scheduled to meet again this Friday to further fine tune its operational tactics.

Part of the strategies, it was gathered, is to win more governors from the North to its side because of the opponents’s conviction that it is only consensus candidate from the North that can tackle Jonathan.

A source in one of the four northern aspirants campaign organisations told Vanguard on telephone, last night, that the candidate might emerge this week while another said it would be next week

Meanwhile, the Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organisation has said that the gang-up by the four northern presidential aspirants against the aspiration of President Goodluck Jonathan would fail even as it restated its commitment to the sanctity of ballot box.

PoliticsS’east: Lobby For Creation Of States Intensifies by chyz(op): 4:03am On Oct 19, 2010
S’East: Lobby for Creation of States Intensifies
From Emeka Osondu In Awka, 10.18.2010

The International Society for Civil Liberties and the Rule of Law (Intersociety) has  petitioned the president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, the Senate President, David Mark and the South East Governors, to as a matter of urgency, look into the issue of creating additional states in the country.

In addition, the group also made case for the resuscitation of the moribund coal mining industry in Enugu and raised the issue of granting of special intervention funds to the South East zone to tackle about 4,000 gully erosion disasters.
The different petitions which were equally sent to the Attorney General of the Federation and minister of justice and the speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, were signed by Comrade Emeka Umeagbala and Comrade Justus Ijeoma, Chairman and Head publicity Desk respectively of the group.

In the words of the letter, “The monumental imbalance inherent in the number of and allocation of LGAs will also be re-addressed in such a way that the Northeast that has 180 LGAs will be disallowed more new LGAs, while other geopolitical zones especially the Southeast zone should be directed to create more LGAs to catch up with the Northeast that already has 180 LGAs.”
“The “principle of uniformity” created by the 1976 Local Government Reforms may be invoked in this respect. The grossly lopsided revenue sharing formulae should be reworked as well.

“There shall be sustained agitations and advocacies for the creation of six more States in Nigeria, on the basis of the existing geo-political zones. In other words, Nigeria should be a 42-State entity.
“The allocation of new States, if created, will be as follows: Southeast- two new states, South-south- one new State, Southwest- one new state, North-central-one new state, Northeast- one new state and Northwest- zero State (because the zone already has seven States). Simply put, there shall be seven per geo-political zone.” Intersociety said.

ChinenyeN:
I see. Kind of makes me wonder how much Ngwa has been eroded. Well, are there any tongues that have completely gone extinct (as in, there are no more surviving speakers of said tongues)? If there aren't, then in your opinion, Abagworo, based off your experience, which tongues would you say are the most eroded?
From my experience Aba tongue may be the most eroded in igboland because everybody is there. However, the good thing about we igbos is we tend to have meetings and gatherings of clans in the diaspora so that preserves our clannish tongues better. We also tend to associate with our clans more that outside clan as well.
PoliticsRe: Bank Of Oduduwa Introduce New Currency Certificate by chyz(m): 12:23am On Oct 19, 2010
Don't you think that it would be quite discouraging from your proposed country to be named after "Oduduwa" for the simple fact that you want tribes from Edo and Delta to join you people? Don't you think that they would feel that they are being crave in by yorubaness? I dont think an edo man, ijaw, urhobo, etc. being referred to as Egbe omo oduduwa would go down to good with them. All odds goes against them and their say-so and hopes of equality. No?
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Won't Break Up - U.S.! by chyz(m): 6:23pm On Oct 18, 2010
I think the question should be will the people of the nigeria delta get the emancipation that they have been waiting for if the US bring the "security" that they are talking about? And on another note what war or insecurity do we here about in the niger delta as we speak now? is Abia not in the niger delta?why was there no talks of US security during the kidnappings. Also more people have been killed in the north due to lack of security why is there no talk of US "security" being sent to the north since theyy care o so much about nigeria?

Andre Uweh:
@Chyz: The Igbo in Edo has 8 large communities compared to less than 4,000 Igala fishermen on the bank of the Great River.
I have not met any Igbanke-Igbo claiming to be Bini.
udezue:
Chyz, that is a freaking lie. I know an Igbanke in Houston and he proud to be Igbo so don't blanket all of them just coz of a few knuckle-heads. Igbanke was carved into due to the silly handiwork of Ogbemudia who is half Bini and half Igbanke-Igbo. He did because of selfish and personal reason which was to get his mon's people the Igbanke under the same fold in one state because he was both. Sounds silly but that's what happens when Nigerians leaders who reason from the anus are given power to influence ppl.
^^^
Of course all them don't deny being Igbo but many, many do. After being insulted, bruised, and battered by these people you still claim them. And instead of going foot to foot with them you instead insult the Igbo. Honestly, I just hate the way they are treated in that state and it makes me even angrier that they can continue to go to them. Read this by one of them:

Godday OMU EBON NKENYI SIKE AKA NMA NNU LE OGIRI AKA NMA OFE. ‘OFU OBI MU IKEN EYIN’’
As erroneously believe by some of our people, we are not forcing ourselves on ANIOMA people.

It’s not a case of forcing ourselves on Anioma but it the case of finding your/our root, been in the right place.Atleast, when we the ANOMA sits down to dialogue, we understand each other b/cus we speak the same language. Go to ABUDU our supposed ‘’LGA ‘’, Benin language is the official language. Once you enter they expect you to say ''Koor'' and when you are making any request in English language, you need help and where will this help comes from? Answer is not far fetch, OUR BROTHER AND SISTER FROM IGBANKE who are all GARDENER, CLEANER AND MESSANGER.
There is this Chinese adage which says, ‘’NO MATTER HOW LONG a LOG OF WOOD STAYS IN THE RIVER (WATER) IT CAN NEVER TURN TO A CROCODILE’’. No matter how long we dialogue or stay in this valley of decision, we can never be recognize as EDO men/women. Bros/Sis. Our destiny is in our hands, we are not going to resolve to violence like the ibo people as you said, but trust the power of communication. Pen is mightier than gun.
One of our own moved a motion for Nigerian Independence we are celebrating today. Who knows, if not for the people who sees reasons why we must govern ourselves as independent nations, you and I, would still be licking the boot of the people that kick us.
You can’t be seeking peace and shot the door again the prince of peace. The mistake our people made and are still making is that, wa gi iken nwun egi limeni osisi. You don’t force snail to be gummed to a tree. The elites and the elders in question may not have time to look back to history and what you and I are passing through though, I don’t know what you mean by the elites. It was in the presence of this supposed elite we were taking away captive and you expect them to do something which they refused to do when Bendel state was to be divided into EDO and DELTA and IGBANKE was kidnapped and handed over to the Benin.
What of quota system has it favour our people? When six position is available to Edo state in term of appointment into key position in Nigeria, how many a time has IGBANKE regarded as part of the people the offer is been extended to?
Bros/Sis, the issue here does not call for a debate. The truth must be told as it is, we have over stayed our welcome in Edo state. That was far back when Bendel state was divided into two and somebody somewhere sold us to slavery into EDO. Bros/Sis, the situation is like taking fish out of water. Since then, Igbanke lost their identity and thank GOD we have found IT. In the interim, let the government adjust the Bandry and let IGBANKE rejoin their brothers in AGBOR AND MBIRI.This divide and rule game as far as IGBANKE SONS AND DAUGHTERS are concerned, is over.
I encourage you to join us in this struggle and we will be better for it when the victory is won
CultureRe: Edo Language Now Compulsory In Edo Schools by chyz(m): 10:59pm On Oct 17, 2010
Andre Uweh:
Igbanke people do not say they are Binis. They do not speak Bini. It will be wrong to impose Bini on them. Merging Igbankes into the proposed Anioma state is a welcomed idea.
according to what a lot of them say, they are binis who's language changed through trade with the igbos who came from across the river. This should be good news for then, now they can go back to speaking their "original" language let go of the culture that those "big bad Igbo traders from across the river" gave to them. So that being said Bini isn't being imposed on them. I'm sorry but you reap what you sew. As far as imposition we igbos have made igbo compulsory in anambra state but there are indigenous igala people,we can call that imposition.
CultureRe: Edo Language Now Compulsory In Edo Schools by chyz(m): 9:27pm On Oct 17, 2010
udezue:
So what about Igbo language? The last time I checked Edo state is not Bini state.
They have a right to promote Edo language without another. In anambra the same thing happened with the compulsory of Igbo language in its school; however, there are indigenous igala in anambra so what about them and there language? I guess you typed this because of Igbankes, remember they say they are bini so that is there own business. When bendel state was being split they wanted to go with their "bini brothers" and not with the Igbos now they are crying they want anioma state and marginalization. Now igbanke and ika are "the same" but it wasnt the case until they felt the fiery of their stupid utterance and decision.

LONG LIVE THE EDO CULTURE!
