Yes, obasanjo refused to allow the census to be based on tribe so that the igbo will not come out on top. If it is based on tribe then it will be no need to have the census taken on christmas.However, border tighting must be checked be for census at least a year before. If we get this checked cone 2015 we can come with full force with are consensus Igbo presidential aspirant.

The funny thing is that he does not even need to win the extreme northern states. All he needs is to win 25% in each of those states (which is possible in that context).
I don't know when the next census will be, but he already has things like national identity card data captured during the last exercise. He can make all the necessary deductions and projections from there.

Census is what we need to checkmate as a major priority.Its way more important than worrying about an Igbo president at 2015. Also bored security to prevent these northerners from bring in their brothers from niger,chad, and cameroon to come and vote. i believe the best time to have the census is around christmas times because thats wen all igbos go home.

We we say Igbo votes we are not just talking about votes from SE but votes from millions of Igbos in the North and West. Also the population in the east is still thick we are the largest single tribe in nigeria so those millions that live out side of Igboland is just a portion.Our population in the southeast is still dense without them.

I wouldn't think that Ohanaeze or Jonathan is really counting seriously on South west votes to win this election.

My educated guess is that Jonathan wants to win South East, South South, and North Central. He would then turn South West into a battle ground where he will get some votes . If he does these, he will win.

The most strategic zone in the forth coming election is the South East.

Again, Jonathan may be in possession of true population figures of Nigeria (not the fake being bandied for years). He may know where the population lies.

So, this endorsement is big deal.

As for Igbo interest in Nigeria, I really think it goes beyond the presidency. For now, we need more states and true federalism with equitable distribution of political offices and federal projects, eg. roads, airports, Niger bridge etc.

Lets not forget the millions of igbos that live in the north thats even more votes for GJ. You are very correct about the population. Do you have any idea when the next census is suppose to take place?

i  have  often  said, that  most  people on this  internet group are not delta  people ,but  pretenders who have  left their on cultural areas with  their myriad problems to  talk  about  issues they know  little about.ukwani and ndokwa is not  ika in delta.there are only two  local govt.areas in delta that are ika ,and the other ika people are in edo  state. agbor is headquarter for  ika south  ,while  owa is the  headquarters for  ika north east. i  am  from owa ,and my  ancestors where kings  of  owa ,  ia  ma  not from umunede , and to give you  a  little history  in ika history ,umunede was formerly called and known as  UKPEHORO   kingdom,does that not sound bini to  you ? agbor was called  ogungunagbon or  agbon -which means earth in bini language and before that time  agbor was called igidi and before then agbor  was called  ominijie,while abavo  was avbavbo  a bini prince.
       for those who  do not know chibuzor  is not an ika name . it  is an  igbo name, our people were subjected to lots  of igbo  influence during the colonial era ,due to  the  fact that the early educated people that  came with  the europeans were from igbo cultural areas, so  they influenced the  ikas a  lot .and due to  the fact that our neighbouring towns (idogbo),like  asaba, ogwashi, ubuluku and others have interracted with us for  long , so  gradually most  ikas began changing certain things  like evolution in the  language and some cultural  practices ,but  thank  god this  is being halted . so  most  cases the  modern ika people tend to  name their children with  names that does not reflect  ika language and culture , presently  i  am writing a book  called 500 ika names. where i  spelt  out rules about naming  ika children and names that constitute ika names and those that  does not constitute  ika names.
    examples     .
1.   ikas  do  not belief in chi as guardian  spirit  as the  igbos do , but we believe in ehi as our guardian spirit. so  chinedu is not an  ika name , but you can have ikas bearing  it .but the   name  in   ika  should be  ehiedu ,while chioma  in igbo  is ehioma in ika.- my personal  god is  good.
2. ehiabor - GOds  blessing.
3. ehiobu  - god of the priest.
4, ehiwuogun - GOd is my medicine or charm.
5. awunli - means hapiness in igbo language but this  is not an  ika name , in  ika it  is called  oghogho - happiness.
6.ebele  -means  mercy   in igbo  language , but  in proper  ika language  it  is  called omiken .
        the good  book said my people perish because  of lack  of  knowledge , so we are educating most  ikas about who  they are with  the different  ika language and culture committes and the  prime ika socio-cultural organisation called  ogwa and  onu   ika .so  that  they  wont  be adopting a forign culture and be tagging  it  ika culture.
having said this , it  makes  me laugh when some  people on this group will insult ika people and expect  me not to  insult their igbo  tribe.people should learn to  show respect to  others so  that others can  show respect to   them , but  trying to  use number to  scare me  will not  work.
      to  answer the  question dein was the title  of the  first  king  of agbor ,when this present dynasty started ,it was later changed to  obi and the present  king changed  it back to  dein.before this the rulers of agbor were called  ogele and after that ogiso ruled agbor for  one thousand years and  later we had the dein/obi dynasty.

    ikas use different  or multiples words for  king   like ogiso,obi,eze,oba, all these words means king, an  example  is one of uncles name is  obawunje ,he  is 92 years old now , the meaning  of the name is the king owns the dance.there are titles  like dein wuyi in agbor kingdom.
           for those who say  ikas have not produced president of nigeria , what  is their business and how many  president has a dominant  group  like igbo  produced for  nigeria , it  shows how trivial some  people can  be , nigeria has over 300 ethnic groups and so  how  many of these groups will produce presidents in a space  of 300 years of nigerias existence and we are just 50 years old as a nation ,  how  many presidents have igbiras produced ? binis ? ishan? uhrobhos? ijaws?
          i am ika and i do not have any  appology to  give to  any  one .every  one should be free to  say who  they are and if 99 percent of ikas have said they are ika ,so  why do  i  have to  worry myself if one percent  of ikas say they are igbo.

If true what was the language of the "ika" people before the influence of the Igbos? Also 99% of Aro say they are Aro, 99%of Mbaise say they are Mbaise, 99% of Ezza say they are Ezza, 99% of Ngwa say they are Ngwa, 99% of Ukwuani say they are Ukwuani, 99% of Orsu say they are Orsu so what is your point?. The only 1% of ika that say they are igbo is in your dreams.
