Jbenue:Hey, how thorough are you in knowledge of the ethnic composition of Benue? |
bashr4:Don't worry when the fulanis are almost done clearing out Benue like they have been doing recently, Idomas go say they be 'Igboid'. ![]() JBenue, just kidding |
Jbenue:Idomas are Idomas. Some do carry Igbo names though and we share cultural ties/relations but Idomas are not Igbo, period. Btw, a non-Igbo/Idoma would think that Alechenu is an Igbo name. |
Jbenue:Would you happen to know David Mark's real last name(tribal)? |
alj_harem:Interesting. Do you have a link so that we can see if they actaully do share the same market days? |
That's laughable. For one, even if PDP wanted, they couldnt do anything because they weren't the only parties that voted against the SW getting Speakership. The choice was made democratically. |
Kudos to the assembly member. The SE continues to be on the up. This is an act of initiative that we igbos are known for. Like I said before, gov's Orji and Elechi and their government need to step their game up. |
Roland17:"Former Nigeria World Cup skipper Nwankwo Kanu has been appointed a special adviser on sports to newly-elected the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha. Okorocha announced Kanu’s appointment at a special dinner in honour of the former Arsenal and Inter Milan star, who called time on his international career at the weekend in Lagos." He is "A special advisor of sports" and not "THE special advisor of sports". There is a football wing under sports. He will more that likely be advising on that field alone,or mostly. |
M M M:Imo and Abia wu otu. Go check the history. ![]() |
Good developent. Kanu's appointment will definitely place more eyes on Imo state whcih willl also help to further promote tourism in the state. Rochas is makin moves mehn. Gov's Orji and Elechi need to step it up because the other three are soring! ![]() |
I'm not a fan of indirectly teaching the Quran through the guise of "learning the system" of islamic banking. Essentially that is what Sanusi is doing. The employees especially will have to do this(read Quran or Hadith). How are going to be the heads of these banks? Is it improper, according to islam, to allow a christian to head an islamic bank? In which locations will the bank be in? Is there a possibility that unfavoravable circumstances for secular banks will be created in order to collapse them and substitute them with islamic banks? Will the community that the CBN is proposing to introduce the banks in have a say-so of whether the banks is allowed in their area? If any of you supporting islamic banking can answer these questions,do so. |
Pukkah:Muslims would react totally different in such a case than christians if the shoe was on the other foot. Muslim would make sure blood is spilled. As for your last question, the same reaction that the christians are giving to Mallam Sanusi is the same reaction, even worse, that they'd give to Pastor Sanusi. |
I love Igbo politics. No voice goes unheard and at the end there will always be a unanimous resolution- Kwenu. ![]() |
Pukkah:Honestly, how do you think muslims would react if someone name Rev. Lamido Sanusi was the CBN Governor and was implementing something called 'Christiandum' banking? |
Anambra gets second female Speaker By Nwanosike Onu 2 hours 58 minutes ago •As court injunction stops five lawmakers THE Anambra State House of Assembly has elected another female legislator from Ogbaru II State Constituency Princess Chinwe Nwebili as its Speaker. Princess Claire succeeds Anayo Nebe. The fifth session of the 30- membe members from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Accord Party (AP) and Labour Party (LP). APGA, which produced the Speaker yesterday in a unanimous vote, has 16 members. However, only 25 of the 30 members were sworn in yesterday. Some former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers went to court to stop the swearing in of some of the new members. There was heavy deployment of security operatives in the Assembly complex. About 300 operatives were scrutinising guests and the legislators. Acting Clerk of the House, Pius Udoh, said only 25 lawmakers would be sworn in because of a subsisting court order restraining the Clerk from swearing in some of them. The new Speaker was nominated by Chugbo Enwezor (Onitsha North I Constituency) while her deputy, Prince Chukwudi Orizu (Nnewi North), was nominated by Nicky Ugochukwu (Orumba South). Princess Nwebili thanked the members and promised to have a cordial working relationship with Governor Peter Obi administration. Obi urged the House to make quality laws that would facilitate the development of the state. http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/news/9280-anambra-gets-second-female-speaker.html |
