The truth i that jim iyke and all these actors are broke asses..i saw his house in sunnyville Abuja and i was like WTF. money is so easy to make and all you need is a little initiative and some ruthlessness and you have your startup capital.
jim iyke is a guy that could have embellished himself and get branded names like ace champagne and moet to sponsor him as a gentleman of class..but stupidity and crass arrogance wouldn't allow him do that.
As an igboman, he could have reached out to arthur eze na ugbo to help him become a master but he was busy following small girls and harassing women. now instead of marrying from a rich igbo family and exploiting the gifts of his igbo roots, he is wasting time with jamaican sluts

Business / Re: Has The ATM Ever Short-paid Anyone Before? by cityAdventures: 8:35am On Jun 08, 2016
OlowoB:
Well I only know of overpaid. Back then in LUTH, a friend of mine went to the machine and wanted to withdraw 10k (this machine is opposite FOODIE, a very popular restaurant in LUTH) after slotting in the card to withdraw the money, he discovered the machine paid him an extra 1k.

He slot in his card again and tried to withdraw another amount and the same thing happened. My guy who can think so fast grin just quickly ran to the cyber cafe and printed a flyer (COMPSSSA) saying DO NOT USE this machine cos it is out of order. He later went to go and pay more money into his account and also went to go and collect people's cards from them, using theirs also.

Infact, he made close to like 200k back then. He only told me after the deal had been done. I felt like slapping him. This was like 2008 when guys were so bad gan.

Special shout out to all Medilag students here 2005-2010.

So as recently as 2008, people were loaning out their cards with passwords abi? If i hear. And no one was seeing him withdraw cos it was hidden, abi?

You can lie for africa.

Anyway, my atm used to pay me 19k every midnight. Thats everyday. This was 2002 or 2003. Then it was ATMC that had d most machines- atm consortium n their machines wrre always down. And u couldnt use an interswitch machine on atmc anyway.

So i was always all over school n lagos looking for a blinking machine. So i got 19k(which was my final balance before it started overpaying me) for more than a month.

Then i got greedy and paid in 60k, so i would be getting the maximum allowable balance everyday.

Then...it ended. Talk about killing the goose that lays the golden egg.

We werr d early adopters of technology and as it is with any such technologies, you either lose or gain wen u r an early adopter.

Udende the bemue rep has been actively apc anyway, from december 2014. He worked against his party and scuttled the senate ambition of the former governor, suswam for senate in his zone, which he represents..this was april 2015. So he remained pdp but been an active apc chieftain since. He is one of the governors closest allies since his days in apc.

Romance / Re: My Fiancee Is Very Aggressive And Rude by cityAdventures: 5:05pm On Mar 08, 2016
Inspinia:
I no longer know what to do. We have been together for 8 months and I want to marry her quickly. I have my reasons. She has been my childhood crush for years and now that she gave me a chance I don't want it to slip away. Many guys flock around her so before one asks her to marry him I had to do it first. And she is very responsible and definitely not a fling.

But I have problems with her aggression. A little thing she picks an issue with it and starts dishing out hurtful words to me. I always try to apologise and make her happy even when she is wrong not me just so she will be calm. It was working before now it no longer works. Whenever I try to make her happy she gets more angry and tell me I'm trying to patronise her. If I take her out on shopping she will be so angry that I'm trying to buy her with money that I don't love her.

My fellow brothers, what do I do? There was a day I had to invite my sister to come talk to her as woman to woman talk this lady pulled the belt on her jeans and began to assault my sister I'm grateful to God that I was there even my left eye is still bruised wth the way she hit me too that day. And the worst of it all is everytime she gets more angry and more violent.

I threatened to call off the wedding thinking it will make her rethink but it didn't instead she got angry that day and pushed me against the wall. God saved me beause if there was knife or bottle around that day with the way she was angry sh could have used any on me.

Please I need assistance from matured minds. I love her so much that I don't want to call off the wedding I want her to be wife but her aggression is too much. She get angry easily. She outrightly told me no sex till marriage and I can't do anything about because she seems stronger than I am (Yes she works out alot. Perhaps because she is a model or so i don't know)

I need help.

You really need help cos she will soon khee u

Politics / 10 Characters You Find As Ministers In A Federal Cabinet by cityAdventures: 4:13pm On Mar 08, 2016
They are the closest policy makers to the President, those who give their ministries political direction. They are often an ill assorted bunch- from the weird to the eccentric and outright brilliant. Over the years, their numbers have changed from 46 to 42 and now 25 since this civilian dispensation began in 1999.

I have had cause to work closely with some cabinet ministers over the years so, have been opportuned to observe these men at close quarters.

Here are the types I have discovered you find in any cabinet

1. The talkative
Mr Loquacious is his name- he is a chatter box and talks all the time, even when his response or views on issues are not needed. If he happens to manage information for the country as well, then he feels he has been given an official license to keep on chattering endlessly.

When there was no social media, such men often got off lightly with their guffaws, but now that every nuance of speech, every inflection of voice comes under scrutiny? They now know they are under watch so they must get their acts rights.

The more you talk, the more Nigerians attack you- any one who thinks this is a lie should as the common sense senator. Several ministers are suffering the brunt of this, none more than Lai Mohammed at the moment.

OBJ had FFK, Yar Adua had Aondoakaa, GEJ had Aganga at Trade, Adoke at justice and Adesina at Agric but Lai Mohammed is the indubitable leader of the lot.

2. The Absentee
He is never on seat, never in the office. At no time will you go his office and meet him on seat, never. He operates from home and all files are often taken by his assistants to the house. The only time he comes to the office is when there is an official function or when he is receiving a delegation, else he is not bothered with the office.

OBJ had Ogunlewe at works, who was always in Lagos using FERMA to fight LASTMA and Tinubu, Yar Adua had John Odey at environment and GEJ had Koro, who had more turf wars to fight with Fashola in Lagos than Boko Haram in Maiduguri.

3. Mr Aggressive
By nature, he is combative and aggressive, so he carries his persona into governance. His tenure at the office is draconian and all his directors and heads of agencies fear him. He has the ear of the president too, so nobody dares to cross his path.

He has everybody by the whiplash and his word is law, no one can challenge it, not even his perm sec. All his approvals are treated with dispatch and he is looked upon in awe.

OBJ had Borishade and FFK at education and Aviation respectively, Yar Adua had Aondoakaa at Justice, GEJ had Nyesom Wike at education, while PMB has Amaechi at Transport now

4. Ajala The Traveller
He is always on one foreign trip or the other, either with the President or on his own. By right, some ministries are always involved on Mr president’s travels so, such a minister always accompanies him. Once he is back, he is off again for another foreign junket.

Most of the ministers who travel like this are those who deal with world bodies like UNIDO, WTO, DFID and the likes

OBJ had Sule Lamido, UMY had Rilwan Lukman ,GEJ had Aganga, Ngozi Iweala, Dieziani Alison Madueke while PMB now has Ibe Kachikwu and Adeosun.

5. The Workaholic
When every one else is at home, he is still at the office. He may not come to the office on time, but he stays till late, atimes upto 9pm or even 10 when normal civil servants have gone since 4pm. We works hard, inspecting sites, commissioning projects, treating files and is often the star boy of the administration.

OBJ had Oby Ezekwesili at education and El Rufai at FCT, GEJ had Barth Nnaji at Power while it seems PMB has Fashola at power (as power seems to have improved- atleast in my area)

6. Mr Invinsible
The Minister you can’t see, you can’t place his face, you don’t know anything about him. He is never in the news, never seems to do anything, no innovations at his ministry, no projects, inshort, you don’t hear from him, even if things are being done under him.

Since they are invisible, we can’t even remember the past ones, GEJ’s ministers of state, and now PMB has Malami at Justice and the guy at Defence- who knows his name?

7. Mr Clueless
He seems to be overwhelmed with his job, doesn’t seem to know what to do and is struggling with the work load. He makes series of gaffes that are often overlooked and tries to get on with the job as quick as

Romance / 10 Types Of Girls You Meet In Abuja by cityAdventures: 12:58am On Mar 08, 2016
Abuja own no be here, abeg…

The town is a study in contradiction, it still has some air of mystique hovering over it, and while it is not the archetypal stereotype of a capital city- as it is just that, a seat of government- Abuja offers her own unique frills and thrills like any other bustling cosmopolitan commune. One of the things Abuja has to offer aplenty is women, and you get to meet different types, sizes and shapes.

Since 90% of Abuja residents were not born here, so it then becomes imperative to know that we all met here, everybody came from one part of the country or the other and we are all sojourners here. No one knows Abuja more than the next man, and nobody is a son of the soil here.

No one is daughter of the soil either. The girls come from all over, and only few were born here. InterCity Adventures unveils for you, the 10 types of girls you are bound to meet in this bustling city.

10. The footloose married Girl
You see this type every where- they are married yes, but only just, and almost merely in name only. You see them driving nice, small cars, with a kid or two infront- but you only need to wink at them from your own car for them to smile back, hoping you will pull her over- their stock in trade doing young studs by the side or the alhaji or Senator that assures them of more affluence.

You meet them at the malls Jabi Lake, Silverbird, Next Cash n Carry, Ceddi or the normal markets- Wuse, Garki, Utako or Gwarinpa- start up a conversation and bingo, they give you their digits. They meet up with their studs at obscure gardens or quiet roof top restaurants, and from there, what ever happens is then between two consenting adults.

9. The Rich Girl
This is the most difficult type of girl to run into in Abuja. She moves around in tinted cars and lives behind tall, wrought iron gates. Her circle is tight and close and her father is a rich business mogul, politician or a #Dasukigate beneficiary.

The only places to catch her are those stand alone upscale places in maitama and Asokoro- nail bars, massage parlors, beauty spas and what have you. You don’t even see these types at the likes of shoprite, Game or Spar- no. They don’t go there, except there’s some authentic designer outlet located within the vicinity of the mall. When Selara faces was at Ceddi, that used to be a famed stop of theirs. They don’t go to clubs, strictly house parties and get togethers.

You cant ever ever get to meet them, except you are introduced by an acquinatnce. They simply don’t want to mingle with any body outside their circle and if per adventure you see them at the airport, they are walking hastily into the VIP or protocol lounge to wait for their flight.

8. The working Class Girl
The most popular type of girl in Abuja. She is not the rich girl- even if she works with NNPC or Talaveras, we simply call her working class. She does a little bit of whoring by the side as well, or else how can she, as a banker maintain her fly lifestyle on a paltry 150k a month?

If she works for a government parastatal, on 80k or as a marketer, 40k a month? She prides herself on her independence and revels in the fact she can pay her bills- format, all na wash.

When she meets a guy and once she has put on the screws, she never forgets to tell the guy her rent is expiring the following month and her landlord is on her neck, for a mere N2.5m. Or she could come up with a different caper, that she is quitting her job soon and is in the process of opening her boutique and needs just a mere $5k or $10k to complete her shopping in Dubai.

If she has no liver or pities you, she bites you for less- she tells you to atleast pay for her return ticket- $3k5 business class, though she flies economy when she is paying by her self. For the guy that doesnt have anything, she says she needs just a 100k for some pressing expense. She is driving an EOD or 2012 Camry but that’s all, she is looking for a husband and can’t do anything for anybody, not even her dog.

7. The Runz Girl
This is the girl who owns Abuja- the night life that is. Wuse 2 is her domain and Maitama her forte. She sleeps all through the day and moves only in the night. She is a regular face at all the fleshpots in town- Krystal, Aramis, Cubana, The Bank etc- she is the club girl, part of the Stilleto armada. She is always looking trashy in high heels and skimpy dresses

The club is her office- where she makes money and badoo, her business organizer. These types are found all over the city mostly in Wuse and Wuse 2. Everybody knows where they live- Gonder street in Zone 1, Abidjan street in Zone 3, Badagry street in Area 2, Emeka Anyaoku in Area 11 all in Garki, where they pay between 5k to 10k per week to lay their heads.

Like I said, they sleep during the day, except they step out in the afternoon to bank their overnight take (they stay 5 or 6 in a room, so they cant afford to keep their money in their bags). They charge young guys with plenty of talk and no money 10k, the big pot bellied men, 30k, when they catch a real mugu maybe 50 or even 100k.

The out of towners once they come always tag up as a duo in a hotel room, get a discount from management and stay upwards of 2weeks receiving clients all through the day- guys they have lined up on Badoo. You find these ones mostly at the Wuse Zone 6 hotels- Amso, Oriental, Regent etc, where they are given 15k rooms for 10k a day.

6. The Undecided
This type claims she is not a Runz girl in the sense that she doesn’t club, doesn’t go out at night and doesn’t ask a man ‘how much are you giving me?’ when they meet.

However, she doesn’t work, has no discernible source of income yet lives in a room self contained or room & parlor in Gwarinpa, Area 11 or Wuse 2, where she is paying between 500k-700k. She believes in dating, but dates only rich guys or guys who can pick her bills.

So when you meet this type of girl, you wine and dine her, go through the Jim Iyke- Ini edo lovey dovey process of Nollywood and by the time she drops her pants, the guy realizes he has spent close to 100k or 200k over the course of a week.

She is always looking fly, always travelling, but the neighbors cant really tell how she makes money. They are always into something to do with entertainment, events or contracts, or they will tell you they sell clothes- wash, rinse, set and dry.

5. The Kept woman
This one, like her name implies, does nothing except live off a man and wait for the weekly visits of her benefactor. She is a rich man’s paramour, the chattel of an Alhaji, politician of soldier. She has a swank shop at Silverbird or Jabi lake and lives life on the red carpet, not bothered about a husband. This type is often in her early thirties to forties. She is well taken care of and has no complaints, knows all the big men and is a big shot in the city. Her life is the dream of many Runz Girls.

4. The Student
Her only problem is recharge card and hair extensions, so the moderately well off guys prefer these ones- atleast they can meet these expenses. Married guys who also don’t want to keep spending money on Runz Girls and high class hookers also like this type. Nassarawa State University provides a steady pool, Gwags, Baze, Law School and a host of new private universities mushrooming around the city provide a steady pool. Its easy to spot them around the haunts in town- they are always in agroup of twos or threes, looking around timidly in modest dresses and flats (no heels). This type is the subsidy girl in these hard times of Change.

3. The Born Again spinster
If you are ready for marriage, approach this one- else just go your way. She has been burned several times, her heart is now charred like an earthen ware pot. She invites you to church on Sundays and midweek programs on week days. She is the worst nightmare for a hit and run guy- she will frustrate and bamboozle....

Ishilove:
Love her or hate her, you can't take away the fact that she is really hardworking.

Linda is more of a news aggregator than writer. She sources news articles from various sources and publishes them. To write a solid blog article takes the better part of 45mins to an hour depending on the contents, so if she makes ten posts an hour then it means she is basically copying and pasting.

Linda doesn't blog alone anymore. She has staff writers who contribute to the blog. They all join in the dumbing down of the masses with inane yeyebrity news.

Most bloggers wanna be like Linda Ikeji but lack the passion, commitment and drive. The majority of bloggers in the blogosphere are copy and paste, with a large number of them passing through the unhallowed walls of Nairaland. They copy word for word from other blogs and jostle for home page coverage. Melogist, gistmelove and gist4kids come readily to mind. (sorry guys, no offence intended. I'm not hating. Just making an observation)

Anyway it's part of the hustle. If you want to stand out in the over-crowded blogosphere then you need to be unique. You need to stand out to be noticed. For example, instablog9ja is one blogger I admire. His posts are unique in the sense that the guy goes out of his way to add the extra to otherwise ordinary posts. Another is Lailasblog. She tries as much as possible to take a piece of news and blog about it DIFFERENTLY from other blogs.

These nairaland bloggers need to take note. Being Linda no be beans

Spot on.I agree with you 99.9%.only point i disagree is adding lailas blog to the creative pool...those who write.shes also a news aggregator...copies n pastes...same with the rest

The problem is nowadays she has no exclusive Nigerian news to report. What gained her followers back in the day has reached a grinding halt; exclusive, scandalous celeyeyebrity gists. 99% of nollywood personalities have befriended her so she can't report news against them. She has been reduced to posting news about the Kardashians, eggplants and other foreign media personalities most Nigerians wouldn't care to know.

Even her poster content has dropped. You now see posts with 97 comments of which majority are 'k', 'yes', 'linda take note' and other mundane writeups. Most of her blog visitors are in it only for the monthly giveaways and not there to learn anything. I only visit the site now based on habit built over the years.
