APC and INEC must not be allowed to subvert the will of the people.

We must do away with Federal Might in state elections. Using federal institutions to rig elections must never be allowed again in Nigeria.

Cjrane2:
1. Power plants especially Gas and/or Coal and

2. Regional railway links are what the regional government should find Chinese financiers.

For a Total length of <1,000KM, to link key SE cities to the SS cities, this is a highly bankable venture for any investor.

These are the only projects that will give the region any hope of creating jobs within the region and cheaply moving goods and services from point A to point B.

Every other thing is secondary to these two major things that must happen. A lot has been said about this in numerous threads. I wonder why it has not started.https://www.nairaland.com/3780758/ohanaeze-sets-up-committee-design
Cjrane2:
Therefore the plan should be for a 5 years development plan for Regional railway.
The 3 steps are.

1. The SE Governors and SS Governors should secure permission from FG to build the regional railway and float a company "Eastern Corridor Railways Corporation (ECRC)"

2. Every benefiting state will invest 1% of their budget as Equity into the company to take care on initial takeoff This is later converted to shares in the company for the respective states.

3. Get Foreign companies to bid as foreign Technical partners to do the actual construction on a PPP arrangement and 100 Year BOT (Build-Operate_Transfer)

These three steps will ensure the project is actualized and it will greatly facilitate economic activities in both zones. Imagine travelling from Calabar to Onitsha or Port Harcourt on an air-conditioned train and get there in 2-3 hours? Or bringing your goods from Afikpo to Port-Harcourt. Then do your business and return to Calabar or Afikpo without Police harassment and bad roads?
I give full credit to creators of the SE & SS Regional Railway Masterplan. I like it and i will continue to remind us about it.

I just want to continue to repost it until our leaders do something about modernizing transportation of goods and services in the subregion.

This project is more important than building bridges on the River Niger or other small projects. This will link infrastructure in the region (Power plants, Industrial complexes, key airports, Key sea ports, key farming areas etc) by rail.

It is achievable within 5 years if we follow the 3 steps outlined in the post above.

I am a little concerned that at the last SE governors meeting, they didn't think of regional integration and importance of the power projects and rail projects.

.

Meanwhile, enjoy a new compilation of Enugu pictures.

Nigerians should learn how to vote in polling stations, stay there until the results are counted and winner announced.

Pull out your phone and take a picture of the result sheet clearly showing the numbers and who won.

Post the picture of the result sheet online immediately. It prevents those that want to change the results in that polling booth to know everyone already knows what the true result is.

Don't underestimate the importance of posting the authentic result online for the world to see it before those professional Abuja result writers will try to change it.

If we can have our leaders have a basic code for major roads in our cities.

There should be small trees in the road median and the trees planted on both sides of the road. If we use this code, we will be building standard cities that will compete internationally, than sticking to the present 3rd world standard of building tiny streets and houses allowed almost on gutters on the road.

Would have made more sense if they scooped the dirt directly into low, purpose-built trucks instead of into all those bin-liners! Would be cheaper too!
Exactly!
It would have been even better to scoop directly into a take-away truck that takes it away immediately.

I am ONLY impressed that they had the sense not to dump trash on a clean street in the name of cleaning the gutter!

In Nigeria some Nigeria cities, they don't even know that sand on the road is dirt. They don't know plastic bags and plastic cans on the street is dirt, even if the street is tarred. So we clean gutters, by making streets look so dirty like a piggery.

They sell the plots inside the proposed city to people just that u have to stick to a particular pattern they will give u and it seems they have different pattern of buildings.
We have been begging them to use that method.

Simply sell the plot of land to interested people and tell them the type of building to have on each street. The buildings don't have to look exactly alike, but will be uniform. Such as they are all duplexes or they are all bungalows or they all have red brick walls or short brick fences etc.

They don't need to build it themselves, they only need to provide roads, gutters, street lights, trees along each street and enforce standards & uniformity according to the original plan.

A typical Fulani person believes government should "ALLOCATE" everything to him.

What they don't know is that the same government doing everything for them is dedicated to depriving everything from other Nigerians.

They have taken all the Federal jobs, all the jobs in the Police, armed forces etc and "ALLOCATED" to Fulani people. Yet they are not happy. Other tribes in Nigeria have to scavenge and survive on petty trading.

Fulanis have an option, that is why they don't take hardwork seriously. They know government will always cheat other Nigerians to give them one bursary or another. Now they are sharing the Abacha $350 million dollars among themselves. How many non-Fulanis are getting that money?

This is how to clean gutters!

Not what we see where people scope thing out of the gutter and dump it on the street. Then leave it there and walk away for weeks. Within the time, rain fall washes everything back into the gutter and makes the hitherto clean streets to become another terrible piggery.

I just love Enugu Governor for doing things decently. I wish others will learn from him that anything worth doing, is worth doing well.

The hatred towards Igbo is worse when they see any type of progress in the East. They took ALL the federal projects, Federal jobs, Federal Civil service, and all economic enablers, like sea ports, yet they are not happy.

The worst is that they target innocent hard working people to try and kill their business simply because they are Igbo. See what DANGOTE did to IBETO and what GT bank is trying to do to INNOSON. They ban Igbo companies at the flimsiest excuses.

Yet, somebody like DANGOTE who will not build even a hurt in the entire SE is selling most of his cement to Igbos? Why can't Igbos buy other brands to protest the evil actions of these people against Igbo people? Why are we always distracted from doing what we must to boycott these people trying so hard to impoverish us?

I am hoping contractors and other home owners try to buy cement from other companies and NOT Dangote. If IBETO did what Dangote did, the Emirs will issue a Fatua that anyone selling his cement or products in northern Nigeria be attacked by the youths of the area.

The next video/pictures that will enter the cyberspace is the progress of work on the runway/Tarmac etc. Thank you all.

I am glad this is a PPP project and the state isn't sinking it's meagre resources desperately needed for other sectors into building the airport.

Even if it take 5 years to realize. It is ok as long as the state can still use her own money to do the myriad of development needs of the state apart from airport.

Good governance is always about getting your scale of priority right. You will always have more wants than your resources can carry. So you must prioritize how best to use your limited resources.

Those false assets you are writing would not change the fact that she has stated.

Only Igbos silly enough will fall for your ploy and continue burying their treasure in strange, hostile places. When northern youths gave Igbos quit notice, they told them to take all moveable assets that they could and then issued an instruction to their people that nobody should buy any house from Igbos. Those thinking they could quickly liquidate their assets were effectively looking at another abandoned property saga had the northerners not changed their mind at the last minute.

Igbos should stop neglecting their zone and acting as unwanted development minded soldier-ants for hostile peoples and their regions.

Your silly epistle up there will ONLY interest Yorubas and people like that.
Remember that despite your campaign of calumny against Stella Odua, she still won the senatorial election? Just like you people love Awolowo despite all his criminal behavior, attacking Stella Oduah changes nothing. Instead it makes her stronger as an amazon.Mandela was also labelled a terrorist by the racist apartheid government, it didn't stop his people from recognizing him as a freedom fighter.

It is a good idea to get all those trucks parking on the street in Harbour industrial estate to leave the street. However, saying they will be relocated to upper Iweka is another blatant lie. There is no land anywhere around Upper Iweka big enough for a truck park.

Part of the reason the expressway should be developed up to Awka is that it will make Nteje and areas like that accessible.

There is simply no more land at upper Iweka to attach even a Keke park.

We should get in the habit of thinking of city expansion towards Awka and towards Oba on Owerri road and Towards Nkwelle Ezunaka on Nkisi road.

The idea of relocating everything to Upper Iweka, Awka road, Oguta road simply shows the person is living in Onitsha of 1970s when there were still spaces in these places. Onitsha has since outgrown Awka road, Upper Iweka and Zik's roundabout. Onitsha is now a metro-polis and not the former "Onitsha inland town" around Ojedi road and Ugwunabamkpa. People living in Nkwelle Ezunaka now technically live in Onitsha metropolis.

PoliticsRe: Senator Oduah: Igbo Must Invest At Home, Anambra Is Safer Than Lagos. by cjrane:
BabaRamota1980:
By Ifeanyi Nwoko

The Senator representing Anambra North in the National Assembly, Senator Stella Oduah, has called on all South Easterners to plough some of their investments back home to develop the region.

With particular reference to indigenes of Anambra State, the former Aviation Minister said any wealthy ‘Anambarian’ who refuse to invest in the region, is not only doing a disservice to the region in general but the state in particular.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen in Abuja on Sunday, Oduah said that according to a World Bank definition which she aligned with, one could only be said to be wealthy if the people around such individual feel and benefit from the wealth.

Championing the campaign tagged “Aku Lue Uno” (which means ‘The wealth should reach home’), the senator said that Anambra State and indeed the South East had very wealthy people who could develop the region if they invested their wealth back home.

She explained that ‘Aku Lue Uno’ is a prosperity sharing gospel that the South East must adopt for their well being as well as the growth and development of the area.

She therefore called on all South Easterners especially, those from Anambra, to bring back some of their wealth to develop the region.

She however stressed that it was not a call for all investment in other regions to be collapsed adding that the Federal Government should also be mindful of its responsibility to the region.

“Aku Lue Uno is a concept that encourages indigenes to think of their homes in their investments.

“It is not just the right thing to do, it is economically viable to invest in our homes, particularly for those from the South East and Anambra in particular.

“We have the enabling community, we have the population and current government initiatives have provided enabling environment. so what we need is to plough back our investment, our commercial ability.

“What we have outside the South East zone should be replicated in the zone, we need to start domesticating our investments so we can help our people.

“We would help in improving the poverty level, we will help in creating jobs, we would help in growing our domestic economy. Most importantly our people will feel that accomplishment we have.

“In doing so, we would be doing what is termed shared prosperity, in doing so we are doing what is termed Aku Lue Uno,” she said.

Itemising the magnitude of wealth controlled by Igbos, particularly those from Anambra, Oduah said that according to statistics, one out of every four industries in Nigeria belonged to an individual from Anambra and one out of every importer or exporter is from Anambra.

“We also know that one out of every five successful businessman or woman is from Anambra.

“Can you imagine the magnitude of that investment if we can just channel just 10 percent of that home?

“We would create massive employment, we would create massive mentorship for the young ones and we would have a society that will be the envy of all.
“So my advocacy is to encourage all Anambarians, all South Easterners to think backwards (home) on their investments.

“I am not saying uproot your industries, I am saying start divesting and think homewards so that our people can feel your impact and so that our people can grow.

“It is only by doing that that you can in all conscience say that you are a wealthy man because it is only by doing that that you can say yes I am an Igbo man and I have made it.

“In my book you haven’t made it if you haven’t invested what you have invested outside in your community. Any wealth that does not reach home is a lost wealth as far as I am concerned and it is a useless one.

“There must be semblance of that in your state, we must help the state to grow, we must help our people to grow, we must share our prosperity, we must be involved in Aku Lue Uno concept,” she said.

She admonished South Easters not to only show their wealth by building mansions or showing off when they organise or are invited to events.

Speaking on profitability Oduah said that investing in the region would also be profitable, adding that there is an enabling environment and access to markets.

She argued that Anmabra State is safer than Lagos State, pointing out that the international airport in Enugu provides access to international markets.

She added that the state is putting enabling environment for its people to come and invest, stressing that there are tax incentives in place to encourage investments.

“Most importantly there is security: we have better security in Anambra than you have in Lagos. In Anambra you do not have violence like you have in Lagos.

“We have lacuna on infrastructure; rail, airports and so on, but then the state is in joint venture to build the cargo airport.

“Above all we have in Enugu, Enugu has an international market so you can export. The Federal Government needs to put inland container terminal in Onitsha so that importers can from Onitsha get their goods without having to go to Lagos or Port Harcourt.

“When that happens we have access to international markets. You would be amazed at the number of vehicles that go to other African markets from Onitsha.

“We are currently re-exporting in an informal market, that should be formalised. Alaba and other markets in Lagos are our people’s market. We should have a huge portion of that domesticated in Onitsha”.
What she is saying 100% TRUE.

Igbos are the ONLY ones running to other regions to develop it, yet their own place lags behind.

Igbos will beg to develop peoples villages, buy land in swamps and spend millions to drain it and make it suitable to build a house, even when the people are very hostile. Yet, the same Igboman developing another man's swampy village has almost nothing in his state or hometown!

Igbos should learn from wealthy people like Dangote who sell them cement, yet it does not stop him from investing in northern Nigeria. If Dangote were an Igboman, he would be living in Onitsha or Aba where his business is really moving.

Igbos should learn to invest at home. The curse of the Igboman is ALWAYS thinking another man's state and village is a better place to invest than his own village.

Ofodirinwa:
the guy's blog seems to show that he's dedicated to fulani herdsmen as well lol. Says he's making an app that will keep them and their cows safe. He put his phone number on there +2348025883710

his instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ogbeniayotunde/

I think we should give him a subtle and respectful request to remove the pictures, then after that we'll have to resort to a 'plan b' if he's not cooperating.
You have to understand he had a purpose for taking those pictures. His album never showed any decent picture of Enugu. These are not the type of Nigerians that want tolerance or harmony. Someone dedicated to Fulani cows will rather die than take out a picture he deliberately tagged hashtag#Enugu to make sure goodle will put it on Enugu to ridicule a key Igbo city. These are not the type of Nigerians amenable to appeal. Dust your plan "B" and implement it. No need to waste your time on futile abeg.

With the rejection of ranching in the region, Igbo youths in every community must now strengthen their internal security systems. Molotov cocktails are effective and easy ways to fight back.

Fulanis will surely send killers to Igboland to kill our people just to protest the decision to reject ranching in Igboland. People should get ready to take the fight to ALL their settlements in the region. The arm twisting of tribes in Nigeria by Fulani which now includes forcefully taking their ancestral lands under the guise of ranching must stop.
