Meanwhile civil servants like Burutai own millions of dollars and choice properties around the world. But they are untouchable because they belong to the ruling tribe and party. |

Politics › Re: The Mathematics Of Buratai’s Savings Written By Charles Okafor by cjrane: 12:04am On Jun 30, 2016 |
sweetsandy4luv: Before we delve into the subject matter, let’s ex ray his military career vis a vis promotions he enjoyed.
Lieutenant General Buratai’s promotion dates are:
Lieutenant (January 1985) Captain (January 1989) Major (January 1994) Lieutenant Colonel (January 1998) Colonel (January 2004) Brigadier General (January 2009) Major General (January 2012) Lieutenant General (August 2015) Now, let’s look at the salary structure of the Nigerian army: Nigerian Army Salary Structure per month for Commissioned Officers as at Dec, 2015 Second Lieutenant- N120,000 Lieutenant- N180,000 Captain- N220,000 Major- N300,000 Lt. Colonel- N350,000 Colonel- N550,000 Brigadier General- N750,000 Major General- N950,000 Lt. General- N1 million General- N1.5 million
Note: The salaries were far less than the present structure. Former President Goodluck Jonathan approved the Review of the Consolidated Armed Forces Salary Structure (CONAFSS) in July 2010. N115. 6million was alleged to have been paid for a property in Dubai. If the properties are two as reports allege, then we should be talking about N230million or more.
Assuming General Buruntai didnt touch his salary since he joined army till 2014 and using the current salary structure (which is much more that what he actually received), he should have the following in his bank as at January, 2014:
N8, 640, 000 as a Lieutenant N13, 200, 000 as a captain N14, 400, 000 as a major N25, 200, 000 as a Lt. Col N33, 000, 000 as a Col N27, 000,000 as Brig. General N22, 800, 000 as a major General Total earnings by Gen Buruntai since joining the army in 1985 till January 2014 is much less than N144, 240, 000.
Now, being an award winning, globally acclaimed saver of the century, he might be saving up to 50% of his salary(which is practically impossible). That gives us less than N72, 120, 000.
This amount cannot buy a house in Dubai let alone two. There are many grey areas to be addressed before drawing conclusions. With this, you can form your own opinion and draw your own conclusions but be warned that you are sorely responsible for any opinion or conclusion you draw from this computation.
This is my modest contribution to the fight against graft. I must warn: Never punish the innocent.”—- written by Charles Okafor

Politics › Re: Buratai Dubai House: Falana, Others Slam Army, Demands Probe by cjrane: 1:40pm On Jun 28, 2016 |
deantimes: PROMINENT Nigerians and groups have urged the Federal Government, particularly the EFCC to launch an investigation into the finances of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, over the purchase of $1.5m properties in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
The Chief Of Army Staff and his two wives were reported last week by an online medium to have owned two properties in Dubai said to be worth $1.5m.
Buratai said he's ready for investigation as he bought them with his earnings and business money.
The National Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, in an interview with Punch, said Buratai should be probed over the allegation of the Dubai property scandal.
He stated, “The defence the army put up for him is so silly to be believed outside the barracks. All the earnings of Buratai since he joined the army, if all were saved, cannot buy a house in Dubai, let alone two.
“The army also exposed itself as a lying institution when it said Buratai was never in charge of procurement in writing. The investigation should make Buratai to let the country know that he did other businesses to buy the property in question so that the integrity of the anti-corruption war can be intact.
“The house could only come legitimately through other businesses outside his pay. The savings from the salaries of any army officer in Nigeria cannot buy a house in Dubai.”
Also, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, has slammed the Nigeria Army for defending Buratai over the Dubai properties.
Falana said it was not the business of the Army to speak for Buratai on the allegations.
He said since public offices require public trust, Buratai should submit himself to Code of Conduct Bureau and the anti-graft agencies to clear his name.
He said, “Buratai should willingly invite the CCB, the EFCC, the ICPC to look into the matter. If Buratai was alleged to have unjustly purchased the houses, he has to come out to defend himself. He must show how the money used to purchase the houses was transferred.”
But the Ministry of Defence had dismissed the controversies being generated by an online media report over the ownership of two properties by Buratai’s family in Dubai.
http://.com/buratai-dubai-house-falana-others-slam-army-demands-probe/ This is just a hypocritical paddy-paddy government claiming to fight corruption. They have no shame at all. Don't be surprised if those so called Burutai houses in Dubai actually belong to Buhari |

It is like saying we are the biggest economy in Africa by changing the calculation of our GDP, had it solved poverty, hardship or unemployment ? As if that us not bad enough, all the settled issues in Nigeria to help give a semblance of unity in diversity is mindlessly violated by Buhari. ENDTIMELIFE: What is corruption? Is not in only money. Corruption in character words etc. If Buhari is fighting corruption, he must start from his house. As a PTF chairman, what account has he given to the public of we all has forgotten? Then a man that is fighting corruption fighting his oppositions only but surround himself with bunch of corrupt men like OBJ , Amaechi, Tinubu, Rochas , Fashola and others who once stole from the country. Look Nigerians are not fools. Sorry to say. Buhari has no men to work with and fear is under him. I thought the president is coming out with new young men with new ideas. Behold it was the same old system. In every statement there is element of truth.
DULLARD BUHARI IS A CORRUPT TYRANT TRIBALISM , HE CAN NEVER DECEIVE NIGERIANS Bro , Buhari is not 'fighting corruption' He is only using that as a smokescreen to jail his perceived enemies in the opposition party. Let him investigate the role of his wife, Atiku, Kachikwu, Amaechi or Kwankwanso in all these different corruption cases, he will not. But if its some unknown civil servant purported to have supported PDP, Then you know we have EFCC in Nigeria. Shameless hypocrites! |

rapistomenka: ” Even the President cannot claim to be an angel. The estate he built in Abuja is known to us. His wife was indicted over the Halliburton Scandal. When that American, Jefferson, was being sentenced, the President’s wife was mentioned as having wired $170,000 to Jefferson. Her name was on page 25 of the sentencing of Jefferson. We can serialize the judgment for people to see and read.”
Those were the words of Fayose when EFCC blocked his Zenith bank account.
And Aisha Buhari the first lady thundered “Enough is Enough Fayose. A mad dog that isn’t chained. I refuse to keep quiet,” the First Lady posted on her verified Twitter handle.
A clear conscience laughs at false accusations not rages with ungodly insult by calling a man made in the image of God, "mad dogs". No wonder, she is not different from her husband who called those whom God made like Himself, "dogs and baboon". And no wonder this same woman insulted the whole Benin women as, "prostitutes".
This bribery case has been going on for almost a decade and Congress man William Jefferson was sent to jail in 2009 (7 years ago). If the impersonation has been going on for so long and EFCC had the impersonators details including a scanned copy of the impersonator's Nigerian passport, why has she not been arrested till date?
The HB scandal case was dead on arrival because of those involved, just like the certificate issue. I love Nigerians: you can deceive them once but not forever. Governor Fayose has an evidence to his claim which one expects Aisha to refute or put the records straight and not to insult his father! Any way thank God for Fayose because if not for Fayose I would not have known that Buhari married a thief for a wife. Fortunately for her, Buhari will instruct EFCC to secretly destroy all Information about Aisha's involvement. He will also NEVER investigate Atiku lest he exposes his wife. Bunch of hypocrites! |

carreport: ADCs to former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and Goodluck Jonathan are among the 58 military officers retired by the Nigerian army in its latest exercise.
They were retired over two allegations, according to the army: partisanship and corruption.
Ojogbane Adegbe, a colonel and former ADC to Jonathan, and Mustapha Onoiveta, former ADC to Yar’Adua, were both retired.
Nicholas Achinze, a colonel and former military assistant to Owoye Azazi, a retired general, and Sambo Dasuki, a retired colonel, was also retired.
Both Azazi and Dasuki were national security advisers under Jonathan.
In announcing the retirement on Saturday, Sani Usman, a colonel and army spokesman, said it was based on “service exigencies”.
“It should be recalled that not too long ago some officers were investigated for being partisan during the 2015 general election,” he said.
“Similarly, the investigation by the Presidential Committee investigating defence contracts revealed a lot. Some officers have already been arraigned in court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).”
Usman said the army appealed that Nigerians “should therefore not read this out of context”, saying “the military must remain apolitical and professional at all times”.
