A New Hospital Concept for the 21st Century Igbo land

https://www.nigerianfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Hospital-Model.jpg

With the less that optimal performance of health care system in Nigeria leading to unnecessary deaths and loss of wealth in Igbo land due to medical tourism, World Igbo Congress has rallied the Igbo wealth of health care professionals in the Diaspora to introduce a new hospital concept focused on telemedicine built on outpatient services while maintaining critical emergency and acute care services. This model is unique because of the availability of world-class physicians abroad and locally who will provide an array of specialty services not otherwise available locally.

While it has often been believed that southeast and South-South zones and indeed the federal republic of Nigeria has an impressive number of tertiary teaching hospitals and Federal Medical Centers the paradigm of developing hospitals based on edifices and populated with health care staff who are mostly government employees is flawed. This is the bane of the Nigerian health care system and the root of its non-performance. Providence Hospital and Life Care System will take advantage of its proximity to these major local hospitals, by reversing the flow of patients and drawing on the large population centers of area for outpatient and surgery specialties, as well as affordable integrated health services that are well appreciated and in demand in the region.

At its heart, the plan relies on the high quality of clinical care that World Igbo Congress has rallied from the rich Igbo endowment of world class health care professionals in the US and Europe while expanding specialty services that build on this excellence. Direct marketing of these services is anticipated to attract patients from across the southeast and South-south administrative zones and as far as the countries in west and central Africa and enhance revenues across all service lines.
The plan also anticipates close alliances with local and regional healthcare providers by adopting telemedicine technologies that expand specialty patient care into local clinics, other hospitals in the region and worldwide through telemedicine.

Cloud based technologies for telemedicine, lab results, imaging and electronic health records will connect physicians and patients from any location including at every bedside. This unique opportunity to be a hub for telemedicine for the entire region will be led by our team of renowned specialists in telemedicine, and a team of world class specialists.

Operational strategies will add significantly to the bottom line and will be overseen by a board of 15 healthcare and business professionals. PHLCS will recruit an experienced administrator nationally recognized for excellent leadership skills.

Among the many new initiatives this plan identifies are:
• New outpatient services that will drive the utilization of lab, imaging, infusion, and inpatient services.
• A new marketing and patient education center within the hospital targeting a wider geographic area than just Igbo land.
• A patient experience focus that creates patient loyalty while offering services that are desired in the region.
• Operational excellence that ensures accurate charge capture, billing and collections.
• World class physicians offering specialty services that are not easily available in our region today
• Electronic Health technology and telemedicine, which improve access to patient clinical diagnosis and information for both patients and physicians in Nigeria and in renowned medical centers of excellence around the globe.
• Specialty institutes such as Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute, Brain and Spine Institute, Urology Institute, Integrative Health Institute, Endocrinology Institute, Rheumatology Institute and Wound Care Institute to capture and excel in the spectrum of ailments that beleaguer our people
• A business and health care oriented board, which will provide governance and demand fiscal responsibility, business growth and clinical excellence.
• A new community of health professionals complete with infrastructure, accommodation, security, schools and other facilities that make for a serene community living

The Ground-breaking ceremony is scheduled to hold at Ojukwu Conference Center in Owerri Imo State on August 14, 2015. The Executive Governor of Imo State Chief Rochas Okorocha will perform the ceremony. Members of his administration, the business community of the southeast, the traditional rulers and the people will be in attendance. The Chairman of World Igbo Congress, Joe Nze Eto, The Vice Chairman of WIC, Dr. Ken Igwe, the Chairman of WIC Health Committee, Dr. Jonathan Nwiloh, the Secretary-General of WIC, Dr. (Mrs.) Agatha Anosike, The Executive Director of WIC, Professor Anthony Ejiofor, Dr. Nkechi Azie, Secretary of the WIC Health Care Committee, Professor Chidi Onyenekwu and the Event Coordinator Muna Okpi among numerous people from home and abroad will be on the ground for the event.

http://www.nigerianfm.com/culture-world-igbo-congress-launch-the-regional-medical-center-of-excellence/
Brilliant idea.
A center of excellence hospital affliated to one of the bigger centers of excellence hospitals in the USA should be developed.

medical students on rotation can actually come to learn tropical medicine at the hospital and Professors from the American hospital can be invited for lectures and teaching our local surgeons new techniques to do surgeries safely.
This will increase the skill base as well as help keep this hospital at international standard. Which will help it not becoming just another health center in Nigeria.

meanwhile enjoy some 042 street scenes and cruising around Enugu playlist..... grin

AwesomelyMade:
Yesterday evening when I got home around 8.00pm, I saw this young lady sitting in front of a church that is situated right beside my house. She normally sits there almost every evening. She bears a yoruba name.

I said hello and walked up to her for a brief chat. In the course of the chat, She asked me if I'd love to see the actualization of Biafra. I was surprised; I wasn't expecting that question because we were not talking about Biafra. I tried to dodge that question but she repeated it. I een wondered if she was a nairalander to see the heat on here.

When I asked her reasons, she started outlining why she would love to see Biafra. She ended up saying that before 2018, Biafra would come.

The reality is that the quest for Biafra is gaining momentum; all we need to avoid is war.
No doubt Buhari is the chief facilitator of a disintegrated Nigeria.
Unless the army step in and arrest the decline caused by Buhari's sectional policies, only God can stop Nigeria from breaking up. Whether they threaten war or peace. People are now finally ready to fight for their freedom and right to live in a country that treats them as equal citizens. So let the janjaweeeds begin the shooting, people will shoot back.

WhiteTechnology:
My dear people,

it is true our fears have being confirmed that Buhari is an unrepentant ethno-religious hater whose greatest desire is to hand over the nation to his Dan Fodio people

My dear people

Let us ignore this government and pretend it doesn't exist by not complaining about its neglect of our people

My dear people

Let us transform the East into a first world nation through self help to prove to Buhari and his fellow jihadists that progress engineered by people is far superior to that engineered by government

My dear people

When we achieve development of first world standard, we should ensure that the Jihadists up North only see but never partake in our development

This we can achieve by

1) not giving alms to Northern beggars

2) learning their trade in order to replace them with our people

So that their people will have no choice but to migrate back to Arewa to tell others how developed the land of the so called infidels are

My dear people

Remember that the Jihadists think they are revenging cool

My dear people

Our best do show when we are pushed to wall

WE HAVE DONE IT BEFORE AND CAN DO IT AGAIN

Please spread the message to all while we keep praying cool
I agree Igbos should ignore Buhari completely.
Let him do all he thinks he can do, it is really of no consequence. it will also help folks to stop being complacent about voting. they will get another chance in 2019 of removing the Jihadist janjaweeed from Aso rock.

Attahiru Jega plotted this situation the minute he decided to register very few people in the SE and made sure only a tiny fraction got their voters card.
Then capped it with sending faulty card readers to the region and making sure INEC officials took time to frustrate those willing to vote. Surprisingly in the north, they allowed children to register, have their cards picked up by parents, aunts or uncles and the INEC officials wasted no time in allowing such underage kids to vote.

The minute GEJ and other southern leaders refused to complain about these irregularities, it was when the stage was set for the greatest disenfranchisement of a section of Nigeria. People should protest such blatant disenfranchisement in the future and make sure the elections do not hold under such circumstances.

PoliticsRe: Presidency To PDP: Stop Bragging About Fake Economic achievements by cjrane: 1:54am On Aug 30, 2015
There is nothing fake about PDP's economic achievements.
Nigeria became indisputably the largest economy in Africa with many sectors growing rapidly.Especially the non-oil sector. Education is a great thing because it helps one know his limitations and invite experts to help out. GEJ had a PhD, thus he knew he was no economic expert and got sound minds to help him. Buhari is an illiterate and would view the economy as no more than running a cow business. Which he believes he can handle or get any ediot to handle it.

What APC will cause eventually is economic depression while they keep targeting sectors of Nigeria's economy for counter-productive measures if they think some ethnic groups will suffer more while allowing all sorts of economic crimes to happen in some sectors they believe are controlled by northern business men.

They can collapse Nigeria for all i care. Are we not all going to suffer it together regardless of tribe? grin grin grin grin grin

Why can't they get tippers or trucks to haul away the trash rather than leave them on the street surface?

Like if trash is pulled out of the gutters and left on the street for weeks .....then it rains again to scatter the trash all over the road and back into the gutter.
We call it "sanitation" every Saturday to bring the trash out of the gutter and place on the street surface.

Nigeria truly has a very very very long way to go.

We simply need better military leadership and weapons. Many countries now manufacture weapons which make it easier to access weapons today than in the past. Igbos now inhabit the globe which will help make raising funds for weapons easier and put of Nigeria's reach unlike before. Above all, many Igbo physicists and scientists dot the globe unlike before where we lacked qualified people.not to talk of a litany of Igbos military tacticians in US armed forces who can advise our retired Generals.

We simply need to leave no stone unturned, there must never be any unplanned moves. Everything must be planned by experts in the requisite field.

‘There Was A Country’ – By Engy Swags

It’s May 29th 2015. The North is aflame with celebration. So too the S-west. There is a mourning spirit pervading the S-East and S-South and parts of North Central. Except for the efulefu circles celebrating…Gen. Buhari is being sworn in as president, Fed Rep of Nigeria.

* Buhari, upon assumption of power announces a major probe into MDAs since 1999. Massive jubilations rent the North, and SW. With efulefus too…

* Buhari sacks all services chiefs and security heads. Replaces all with mostly Hausa-Fulani folks. The North hail endlessly. The SW hails too, but in a lower tone. The SS/SE are silent, save for the efulefus among them celebrating cautiously…

* Buhari orders immediate relocation of all amouries in the South back to the North, calling Obj and GEJ “outlaws” for moving amouries away from the North. Jubilation in the North, SW jubilate half heartly…efulefus celebrate nervously…

* Buhari declares war on corruption. Reverses the privatization of PHCN, claiming it was fraudulently sold off. North roars in joy, SW murmur, efulefus smile about nervously…

* Buhari cancels second Niger bridge project, citing it as one of Jonathan’s corruption based projects. North explodes in joy, SW scratch their heads, SE/SW mourn deeply, efulefus now confused.

* Buhari suspends all upgrade work at Calabar/Onne seaports, citing corruption in the award of the contracts and also that the ports are a conduit for insurgents to bring in arms into the N-Delta. Now the efulefus begin to grumble silently…the North rejoices…

* Fulani herdsmen kill thousands in night raids in the N central. Christian militias retaliate at once. Buhari orders a nation-wide revocation of all firearms licenses, sends soldiers and police on door to door search for firearms, whether licensed or not…Observers note these raids are all in the N central and Southern Nigeria.

* Reports of silent killings, esp of opposition politicians keep coming in. The Buhari led FG denies complicity. There is terror and deep fear in the land. Anti govt activists and groups begin to mobilize against the tyrannical govt.

* AIT, STV and Channelstv shut down by the Buhari led govt for “instigating crisis” in the polity. The media houses proceed to court, the court orders their reopening at once, Buhari ignores the court orders.

* 2016 population census is done: Kano alone gets a population of 35m, all the S-east states put together get barely 36m. The SW states plus Lagos get barely 45m. The day begins to break for the efulefus..

* Buhari bans the use of FaceBook and twitter in Nigeria. Prescribes harsh jail terms of an IP is traced to any social media site. Quarrels and disagreements spark off between Osibanjo and Buhari. Hundreds of young people are hauled into jail for Facebooking.

* MEND attacks oil pipelines, crippling oil production. Buhari orders thousands of troops to crush them. Bitter fighting breaks out in the N-Delta, leaders of the N-Delta movement are arrested and executed without trial. Now the SWest is silent…efulefus nowhere to be found…

* Buhari announces a major slash in Fed allocation to states, citing the war in the N-Delta. Nigerians are furious with the excruciating hard times, the FG explains that the monumental damage done to the economy by decades of military rule plus 16 years of PDP misrule cannot be fixed in 4 years. Now the generality of Nigerians are swallowing hard….

* IBB, GEJ, OBJ etc all rally together to form a common front against Buhari’s govt. Tinubu falls out with Buhari and joins in the coalition. Buhari orders their arrest and slams them into detention. Their lawyers proceed to court to secure the freedom. All the court orders are damned by the Buhari led govt.

* 2019 elections approach. More reports of silent killings. The opposition parties are too afraid to campaign or field a candidate against Buhari. Tinubu charges NADECO to fight on hard against the dictatorship of Buhari as they “gallantly” did against Abacha. The S-East and S-South laugh at him, asking him to go and tame the monster he unleashed from chain unto Nigerians himself.

* 90% of the political parties adopt Buhari as their candidate. All opposition leaders have fled the country, some missing. Militants in the N-delta step up operations, routing the army and advancing Northwards. Thousands of volunteers join them, along with other militant groups to push Buhari’s forces off the region.

* Buhari suspends Nollywood, declaring them a “source of immorality”…Nigerians now are too afraid to resist. Many journalists are arrested and detained for writing against the govt.

* Brazil and Israel announce their support for the groups fighting the FG. They provide support and logistics. Now the FG gets real jittery. Inflation spirals out of control, over 25m people displaced by the bitter fighting. Looting, rape and robbery by both citizens
and military personnel become very high.

* A major mutiny occurs within the armed forces. A nation-wide state of emergency is declared. Rumours of the death of some past presidents in detention filters out. A nation-wide state of emergency is declared. No more elections. Year after year, the state of emergency on the nation is maintained. The system grinds to a halt. Buhari. Is accused of refusing to lift the emergency state so as to foist himself as president for life.

* The SE and SS declare independence from Nigeria. 14 nations recognize them. The FG calls it illegality of the highest order…

* North Central declares independence.

* The FG calls for meeting of all “aggrieved regions” to reconcile.
None is interested. Well, well peeps, welcome to my imagination! Do you think these events lack bizarre possibilities? Personally, I don’t believe
Nigerians have so offended the Universe to deserve this.

So we can only avoid such scenarios by not bringing such unto ourselves by the choices we make. Vote wisely. Peace

OPINION PIECE BY ENGY SWAGS
Because of this I missed my bus.
Anyway, may Buhari lead Nigeria to another civil war. I ask of this not because I am ignorant of the death and suffering it will cause, but it is the only way to get the south to fight the north....and I know Nigeria cannot survive a second civil war as one country in the new world order.
