asha80:Something I noticed about the youths of these communities is that they are more concerned with harassing people building houses for chicken change than fighting for their resource which will give them more wealth in the future but not immediately. It bugles my mind how Odeke youth travel more than 10 km into Anbra territory to attack Aguleri and Orient and they escape with their lives after each commando mission. Someone somewhere is in collaboration to make such dangerous missions successful. |
The issue is not merely to ask UN to recognize Biafra. We must follow the due process which starts with pushing for a UN backed referendum on Biafra. After the referendum, you can ask for UN recognition of nationhood. If Nigerian security forces try to frustrate a referendum when the indigenous people of Igboland want it, the UN already has a mechanism to handle such circumstances and protect the people against a regime that does not respect international rules of the UN. Asking the UN to recognize Biafra without any attempt to push for a referendum is putting the cart before the horse. |
WombRaiders:EXACTLY ! Chopet:Don't be too confident. Their man is the president right now. They will find a way to give Boko haram your money to compensate them for killing innocent Nigerians and punish military officers that fought Boko Haram with all seriousness. |
We shall see how much the dulllard will leave behind in the ECA. After El rufai and his kids have had their share to enjoy abroad. APC is filled with some of the worst criminals that have been in government since 1999. |
pabostt:See small abooki pikin dey spend money meant for development of naija on oyibo gals. Tomorrow mallam el-rufai will claim anti corruption. ![]() |
Oyibo no sabi lie. Which kain childish lie be dis? ![]() |
CFCfan:They have not added an inch taxiway to where they abandoned the taxiway since 2013 August 23rd commissioning for international flights. The taxiway has not even linked the new(intl.) and old terminal buildings talk more of reaching one end of the runway. All other international airport including Kaduna airport has taxiway to both ends of the runway which is typically 3.25km long. With Lagos being 4km long while Kano and Abuja are 3.5 km long. Only Enugu runway is 3km long. The length of runway at 3km, isn't really bad as it can still take many large plane I have monitored the development of Akanu Ibiam Intl. from multiple sources on the ground and online. As for Buhari's commitment to completing the project, only time will tell. I can only say that I was glad with spyder's recent pictures showing work was still ongoing on the new terminal building. What is of the biggest concern is that we seem to have relaxed for only Ethiopian to service the airport. Lufthansa flies 3 times/week from Malabo Intl. airport to Frankfurt, Enugu state govt. can lobby Lufthansa to make the route Malabo-Enugu-Frankfurt, which I'm sure they'd be glad to add Enugu to that route to make it more lucrative for the airline. Which will also give the needed vital link from Enugu to Europe and USA. Also, Air France can fly Libreville-Enugu-Paris or Brussels airline can fly Douala-Enugu-Brussels 2 or 3 times a week. Many Intl. airlines already fly Kano-Ndjamena-Istanbul and other similar combinations of Kano with other small Intl airports in north Africa into Europe. We must work hard to collaborate Enugu International airport with some smaller African countries International airports around us that have airlines going to Europe and USA but have low passengers volume. That will be a win-win situation for all parties. It must not be a direct flight between Enugu-Frankfurt or somewhere in Europe as many tend to think it should. |
Hurray! We are at page 400! |
investnow2013:This issue would have created problems for Buhari. At some point people would have tried to burn down that prison and whether they succeed or not, either some of the prisoners will die or some protesters. Protesters will likely take out their frustrations on northerners in Anambra which may cause more problems. Either way, that situation will exercebate the problem and lead to other revenge actions. I glad the toxic cargo will leave the state without creating unnecessary insecurity and reprisal actions here and there. |
LordBuchi:Exactly. Remember we were told that GEJ had 1000 snipers taking out people that opposed him. Now Buhari is in power he should expose those snipers or Obasanjo should apologize to Nigeria for intentionally cooking up lies to spread fear and panic |
Hell rufai and oshiomole should be sued for slander to provide proof NOI simply withdrew $2.1 billion dollars and called Nigerian governors to come and collect their share of free money. it should be in a court outside Nigeria. Especially as those in government are notorious for disregarding the ruling of our courts. |
asha80:I know the sites you are talking about, but they are more of a praise blog sites than a true state official website. Like the Chimaroke Nnamani's defunct "Ebeano.com" website that substituted for the Enugu state website while he was in power. Even Obiano has one blog site (http://ifeadinmesi.com/ https://www.facebook.com/WillieObiano?fref=photo) But check out what a state official website should be from many of the northern states of Nigeria or Rivers or Lagos state site (http://www.lagosstate.gov.ng/) |
asha80:There is something about having a social media account which your citizens can reach you quickly without booking any appointment. It brings you ideas and even intelligence about what is going on. Of course some job seekers or attention seekers can sometimes go there to insult you or do something negative. But ultimately, it is a great thing for leaders to be internet savvy and own FB or tweeter accounts to share ideas with the people they govern. Apart from Enugu under Chime, None of the SE states even have a state website that is regularly updated and there is a link to leave a message for the governor or commissioners. Our governors typically believe they know it all and have nothing to learn from anyone. it's so sad. Even the ANSIPPA website (http://ansippa.ng/?page_id=2160 ) in Anambra meant to attract investors from all over the world does not have a clear comment box or working e-mail address for a potential investor from another part of the world to comment on his proposal. Even Nairaland is more advanced than Anambra state government because atleast i can comment from Lagos and even Dubai and Spyder would read my comment in real time in Enugu. That is the big issue about modern communication that our leaders lack. How would a potential investor call come from UK or USA just to ask an investment question, while they could very well do it online in organized societies? By the way, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi must set up an Enugu investment promotion website to attract investors from around the world to Enugu. So many investors wishing to invest in Nigeria have no official websites to communicate with government officials, so 419 people step into this vacuum created by our governments and begin to dupe potential investors. |
The dulllard is still obsessed with Jonathan while his confusions and lack of leadership is causing the deaths of 500 Nigerians every week. |
Why was this thread abandoned? |
Buhari is only giving empty excuses why he does not want to keep his promise |
If they stab anyone in their home state, I hope the mob immediately turned that northerner into Suya using his own suya fire, knives and anything like big stones or rods nearby. |
spyder880:Unknown reasons? ![]() |
DeCritique:Seriously, I met a Director at the federal secretariat that confessed he didn't have an email account because he didn't know how to operate that thing called email . So he preferred the unreliable NIPOST mails which are notoriously unreliable. Yet he is a Director in federal civil service! Part of Chime's success over someone like Martin Elechi that received a similar federal allocation was that Sullivan Chime was an enlightened man that viewed the future with an intelligent outlook compared to the native man like Martin Elechi that had no concept of what a bright future could look like, and therefore could not plan towards it. Imagine that GEJ was the FIRST Nigerian leader ever to have a face book account! I tell you, the worst of us are in the leadership positions in Nigeria . That is precisely why Nigeria is so backward |
spyder880:We may laff it off, but the truth is that you know better about Enugu state and where we should focus at this time than the bloody politicians that will be appointed commissioners. If our people in authority have half the clue of some ordinary people on what the state needs, we would have been so advanced by now. |
Hell or heaven, at some point we have to come to the conclusion that we got to take up arms against those jihadists that assume they have a monopoly of violence. If Hitler and the Nazis were not fought because we know war is unpleasant, they would never have stopped their policy of forcefully annexing people's lands, enslaving them and stealing their resources to develop the Nazi territory. |
This is what is called Iroyin or ìtàn ![]() |
faragai24:The confused dulllard will soon reinstate military checkpoints, unless Boko haram will soon explode a huge roadside bomb along his convoy in Abuja. let him keep playing politics with Boko haram. He will learn the hard way. |
Isn't it even more atrociously treasonable to occupy peoples land by force, annex their resources, abuse their human rights and even attempt to islamize them by force? Yet getting angry when they ask for freedom? |
If Buhari truly means well for Akwa Ibom, he should use that $10 billion dollars which one nuclear station in Akwa Ibom should cost to develop 20 ($500 million dollars) gas power plants around the state to guarantee steady power supply in the zone. Afterall, Akwa Ibom state has enough gas to last the next 300 years. But does not have a grain of uranium for nuclear power stations. Which God in his wisdom did not want any cancer causing radioactive materials in the densely populated Akwa Ibom state. |
At some point we have to storm that prison and burn it down our selves. |
![]() story for the gods. Una kill 600 and yet not a single picture after una finish the body count confirm say na 600. yeye dey smell.... |
bolabolakemi:Wetin concern me? They can free all boko haram in detention. The violence will only worsen. They will re-arm and attack the soldiers, and the same army will lose men just to recapture them again. |
Zonacom:I agree with you. It is easy for us to say, build the airport, refinery university , farms etc in my village. The question is "WHERE IS THE LAND in your village??" Anambra north is perhaps the only part of the state you can get land in such size to do some of these major things. Even Before Obiano became governor, the push has been to site some of the heavy industrial complexes as refineries, power plants etc in the northern region of the state that is sparsely populated. So whether Obiano or Buddah likes it or not, the only areas of virgin territory left to develop world class capital cities or industrial complexes is in Anambra north. We should embrace it and make sure the land is used well to build reference cities in Anambra and site industries and power plants necessary for our development. |
Pachilo:Even suggesting a negotiation with Boko Haram, a group that have murdered so many Nigerians for nothing, is a treasonable felony. However, knowing that part of the people in government now were the same folks that financed them and set them up initially, it makes every sense to try and pay them off using an amnesty program. Having helped them with terrorism to come to power. But, that would actually create so much problems that Buhari would regret it. Being that the dulllard have sponsored terrorists before without any consequences, i expect him to give them money and call it an amnesty and expect nothing will happen. |
