Just like Napoleon Knew more than 200 years ago that China shall inevitably rise to become a world power someday and he made his now famous statement; “China is a sleeping giant. Let China sleep, for when she wakes she will shake the world.” ― Napoleon Bonaparte America had always known what the British could not see. They knew that Nigeria was exactly "a sleeping giant' borrowing from Napoleon's words. Therefore, allowing it to persist as a united country and continue growing, will not just cause constant blood shed, they knew Nigeria will eventually grow to become Africa's biggest economy, perhaps grow into the top 10 biggest economies of the world and the top 5 most populous countries in the world. An Islamist take over of such a mega gigantic country will directly threaten the USA's security and economic interests around Africa and that scenario had always given them sleepless nights. America was silently pro breakup of Nigeria in the 1966-1970 civil war. But because they did not want to offend their British ally in the heat of the cold war, they merely looked away. They had hoped that the irreconcilable differences of Nigeria's ethnic groups will guarantee a breakup of the country without their intervention. But, somehow, Nigeria has survived every crisis and appears to wax stronger each time. My take today is that they should take measures to hasten the breakup of Nigeria, instead of hurting oil price which punishes the poor Nigerians.

Litmus:If there is any country Nigerians love, it is America. Most non-racist American people also love Nigeria. I think the problem is the current American Ambassador to Nigeria that has done everything to promote the differences instead of promoting cooperation. Nigeria will also be better off not putting all her hopes in America. Many other countries in the world such as China can provide exactly the same equipment at even a lower price and conditions. |
Obinoscopy:When we see the money, then we know they are serious. Oyibo does not joke with money.Especially if they can easily keep it as in this case. |
They haven't protested about Mosques being bombed and innocent people killed in their own country. |
![]() Soon we shall ask Boko Haram to come train our soldiers! The current US ambassador had been beyond hostile to Nogeria. Even publicly. So Nigeria just decided against this "training" ? As if we didn't know they were merely spying and sizing up our military's capability the whole time in the name of a phony training. Naija leaders are truly comedians if they just found this out. ![]() |
asha80:Hopefully, this is settled quickly. We don't want any delays to the Mall project. The Devil is a liar! |
Yeske2:Glad to see that Obiano did not forget Borromeo roundabout. I'm sure when the beautification is completed, it will add to the alluring revival of Onitsha aesthetics as a great place to live and do business . I hope they will extend beautification to other roundabouts at Oguta road, nkpor junction and Nnewi. |
There should be no emergency rule. Let Boko haram bomb anywhere they like, be it musk or church. Why the sudden talk now they know they are also targets on BH hit list |
igbokwesampson:Since Nigeria led the renewed effort to champion African economic independence by working against the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) of Western powers, the west has targeted Nigeria for dismemberment to reduce it's influence in challenging their interests. From Boko Haram, low oil prices from artificial oil glut, silent ban on buying Nigerian oil and the denial of arms to Nigeria are a few of the multi-stage strategies to make sure this country breaks up. Judging from history, the west often have their way because they will always find a way to play Africans against each other to secure their interest. May God protect Nigeria from these evil plots. Yeske2:Wow Yeske2! You kept your promise!!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank You!!! Great pics! Willie is Working ooo! God bless Anambra state! |
spyder880:Nnaa Spyder, You are killing me with fond memories o! I wish they can upgrade Ngwo park to a place families can bring kids to play and relax. We need to develop these public parks a little to reach what is obtainable even in South Africa. We should have some concrete or iron chairs in the park and a small children playground with janglova(Swing) ![]() Enugu buzikwa obodo oyibo oooo!

spyder880:Nnaa mehnnn! See traffic lights inside Uwani!!! Only Abuja can boast of having traffic lights in a place like Uwani in Naija! If to say i be girl, I for marry Sullivan Chime FREE OF CHARGE! The man truly has the interest of a modern Enugu at heart!

FreeGlobe:Freeglobe Nwannaa, good to hear from you!!! Bros, i won't trust your pickshures o! As long as Tunde Ngige isn't the governor, i don't trust you to be objective. ![]() You will find an obscure street with trash on it and snap it 15 times from different angles to give the impression that Anambra is full of trash. ![]() We sabi your tricks. Just as you almost fooled us that the Orizu roundabout, Nnewi was full of potholes, when it had been tarred ![]() Blatant asi ndi APC di fantastic! You guys will seriously say it is night time when it is a bright morning ![]() BTW, did you become a hemaphrodite? How did you add (f) to your profile? Bia di anyi, stop dat kain joke o! ![]() |
Nna, I like how they set up the tanks above the shop for this water business! The tanks are not taking any space, yet they are elevated so that water can flow by gravity to the pumps. Walahi, Our people know how to innovate and keep a place tidy.

I may visit Ozubulu during the Yuletide season to see my little sis back from the US. I will surely take pictures of the area for this thread. Ka odikwanu ka ana eme. ![]() |
investnow2013:Nnaa, I'm really enjoying your exclusively fresh authentic pictures! Please take more and post here to enrich the thread! Daalu so, for your amazing pictures. |
investnow2013:I had observed a few months ago while driving on Onitsha-Owerri road that the area behind Rojenny Tourist village Oba, have been developing so fast! I hope the state government will pay attention to this most important area to make sure it develops orderly as a midway extension of Onitsha and Nnewi. It is extremely important that this midway zone develops with all modern amenities as an alternative site for businesses and industries looking to establish near Onitsha or Nnewi. |
investnow2013:Nnaa, I bu correct guy! Chai, Nnewi, I miss that town too much oo! Just that your Cross sticker obstructed my view small. But, no complaints. Abum nwa Jesus! It is obvious that Igwe Orizu roundabout area is well tarred. Some eediots have been posting a 20 year old picture of that spot with pothole just to deceive people on NL. Abeg where is Freeglobe my social critic? I na afukwa ihe n'eme na Anambra? Tabletman, i know you can reach him to come and comment here. We need his unique views on issues. ![]() |

investnow2013:Great pics! Where is this road? is it Onitsha -Owerri road? investnow2013:I just wish our government assist the people by planning the good estates well for individuals to develop. We would have a wonderful homeland incomparable to anywhere in Africa if we can adequately plan these layouts very well with modern amenities. This our build and demolish system where people are allowed to build, then it's demolished by government to expand the road is really wasteful. The roads should be well demarcated well in advance for each of our estates. |
Na real wao! See the fine gal that he uselessed. Shameless General Dogggy style. ![]()
|
Sunnybobo3:Naija sef! ![]() That is why oil prices must drop insha Allah, so that we can tell ourselves the truth in this country. |
General Olusegun Obasanjo is truly a dog. Same thing they accused him of doing with Oby Ezekwesili. |
Nigeria deserves this wake up call. About 5 years ago, oil price hit $100 dollars/barrel for the first time in human history. Economists warned that Nigeria must use the opportunity to build her refining capacity and set up industries to reduce importation since the $100 dollars/ barrel price will not persist for long. Instead, we did the opposite to increase consumption and continued wasteful expenditure. Today, we are caught scrambling to cut back consumption,Ghost workers syndrome and other avenues of corruption created by high oil price. The good thing with a lower oil price we see today is that it forces the African to think and act rationally.Albeit via our usual fire brigade approach to everything. |
9inches:I am glad the USA is trying to ruin the economies of Gulf Arab states. These are countries that do not simply fold their arms like Africans to allow the West ruin them. The American shale oil producers had banked on OPEC continuously cutting back their own oil production to make room for the American Shale oil to replace OPEC production. What they failed to take into cognizance is the fact that were are not dealing with just corrupt African regimes which can be bought over to ruin their economy. The Arab countries are equally as shrewd as USA. |
atlwireles:I am only worried that we don't refine crude here at home. If we saved all the money from oil imports and subsidies, we will tolerate oil price of $15 dollars. The artificially high oil price though it benefited our economy, but if largely fed corruption because some people refused to allow our refineries work just to continue fuel importation. As the low oil price persist, we shall again come to our senses and begin looking for ways to build refineries at home rather than merely continue to import our own refined oil because the money is available |
Nicklee:Don't feel sorry for Nigeria. It is also full of innovators. There has been intractable corruption in Nigeria due to easy oil money, the puzzle that have made our refineries un-serviceable so that we shall continue to import refined petrol from USA and the politics of sharing oil money leading to violence and deaths. In the end, this will be a blessing for a peaceful, prosperous Nigeria. |
3dankey:I don't think the government can do anything about that. Surely People must drive and they must park their car. The problem is the town planning authority and the landlords. When I lived in Fegge and Awada, I can tell you that many landlords build on every inch of their compound, leaving no space for the cars of their tenants. We need to move away from the standard size of plots in order to make sure some space is provided as car park. Another way of doing it is making sure that streets passing through areas with high rise building are allotted twice the size of regular streets. So that residents can be mandated to park only on one side of the street. |
3dankey:I love the bolded. I remember in 2007, Godswill Akpabio was described using similar adjectives "in a hurry to develop" and " angry about the state of affairs". Seven years later, Akpabio's "hurry and anger" to change the face of his state proved to be worthy emotions that benefited his state. I believe it is a good omen for Anambra that such words are now being used to describe Willie Obiano. |
