How this vehicle will make a marked difference in the battlefield is still being debated.

BH have AA guns mounted on pickup truck and drive very fast after they hit a target. Wonder how BMP 2s will drastically change the situation.

Saw some workers repairing our street lights..
Please what road is that?

Wow! This might seem insignificant, but it speaks volumes about the change Onitsha is experiencing. Things are truly changing. I lived off and on in Onitsha from 1978 to 2008. In this long period of time and across many administrations both military and civilian, i had never seen a street light bulb replaced or repaired!

For this to happen, as insignificant as it appears, it shows that real leaders are finally back in Anambra. The locust years may truly be over indeed.

Schematics:
Overall development in Anambra has been unprecedented.

There are tourist attractions at Ogbunike Cave which the government is presently developing. There is also waterfall at Nkwerre Ezukalla. Both UNESCO heritage.

There are two 5 star hotels and 3 malls going on right now in Anambra to boast hospitality and tourism, this is very ambitious. Airport is already on the table as site the has been secured and preliminary work taken off. Already the state has some of the best road network traversing all corners of the state.

Electricity situation in Anambra is fair compare to some other states. Onitsha Port take off is being delayed by FG's concession project. The only thing Anambra lacks now is rail-line which is more or less a federal government project. Aside that every other thing is either in place or already being put in place.
By the grace of God and strategic thinking, we shall overcome all the teething problems.

I was in a seminar about African renaissance and Rwanda kept coming up as a model for African governments to emulate. So I spoke to the Rwandan rep. later how her country became so successful and she outlined 3 major points her country focused on after the Rwandan genocide.
Mind you, Rwanda's budget was less than $200 million before their economic reforms started.Which was smaller than Anambra's budget.

1. They weaned Rwanda of foreign aid dependence by boosting agriculture and help create Agro packaging businesses using Rwandan resources and farm produce.

2. They boosted foreign direct investment and tourism by making Rwanda safe, easy to set up businesses, building of world class hotels and tourist sites.

3. They created a central revenue collection authority to systematically ensure taxes are collected and remitted to the government.

I think Obiano has been pursuing all these strategies in one way or the other except Number 3.Which is the most critical because government must collect taxes efficiently and block all the leakages of revenue into private pockets, in order to fund development projects.
I have also noticed that 2015 Anambra state budget will have bigger contribution from IGR than in the past.

Anambra must quickly set up a "State Revenue Authority" to systematically streamline all taxes/ IGR sources and have good strategies for collecting and remitting ALL internally generated revenue.

The following constraints were also identified as impediments to economic growth in Anambra state.

CONSTRAINTS TO LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

1. There is no facility for any form of tourism.

2. There are few good quality hotels that can attract tourists.

3. The insecure environment does not encourage tourism for now.

4. The lack of a nearby airport is hampering business transactions.

5. Erratic electricity supply has hampered industrial development.

6. The non-utilization of the river port is not encouraging the growth of commerce in Onitsha.

7. The absence of a railway linkage limits transportation choices.

I had always thought Anambra did not need an airport, but i will retire my skepticism for now.

Below were agreed priorities between the UNHABITAT masterplan and Anambra state government in order to begin the upgrade of Onitsha.

THE 10 AGREED PRIORITIES

1. Rebuild the present central market outside of the
city

2. Relocate some of the other markets (e.g. the
building materials market) to areas outside the
city

3. Purchase of environmental equipment
measurement equipment.

4. Create an international market along Nsugbe
Road outside the city

5. Create a mega-parking area for regional trucks,
with affiliated services and facilities

6. Simplify access to credit and loans to generate
new jobs

7. Establish new businesses and light industries that
depend on a large number of labourers

8. Complete the export free zone

9. Create an independent power supply

10. Establish an airport (for cargo)

Why I want to return to Government House –Ohakim
0
By Our Reporter on November 25, 2014 Politics

Our Reporter: TAIWO AMODU, ABUJA

(amodu200910@gmail.com, 08059306448)

Former Imo State governor, Ikedi Ohakim is in the race for the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) governorship ticket. At an interactive session with newsmen at the party national secretariat in Abuja, he says he is determined to reclaim the State from governor Rochas Okorocha who defeated him in 2011. Ohakim flaunts his previous experience in the office as his competitive edge for the party ticket.

‘’ I have a learning core advantage which no other aspirant have. I have been governor before, no other aspirant in Imo had been governor.

I handed over to the present administration and I know what was where when I left office and I know what to retrieve when I go in.’’

At the moment, the APC is the party in government. Do you think your party, the PDP stands a chance again in Imo, given the fact that the incumbent governor defeated you in 2011?

Thank you very much, the chances of PDP is very bright . The APC is in charge of government today in Imo State, but unfortunately they aren’t in charge of power.

PDP is in power in Imo State, PDP is everywhere, there was a political aggression, I don’t want to go into what happened in Imo in 2011 , it is known to everybody. We won the 2011 election, but one thing led to the other and somebody was declared the winner. Today, everybody is crying in Imo State: men, women, children. Law and order has broken down, the economy is in shambles, we want to return Imo to sanity and everybody is crying.

To show you that people are aggrieved, my standing here today to speak— it may interest you to know that the artisans association, of over one million people actually purchased the form and contributed the money, all of them are saying I must come back to repair and put Imo State back to work, because we have the pan Imo structure, we had touched lives in all parts of the State and with the structure we have today, and with the support of the people, God being on our side, we can rescue the people of Imo State from the calamity that we have found ourselves.

The incumbent governor, Rochas Okorocha has said he is going for the presidential election, would you say he is shelving his second term bid because he is afraid he might not make it back to office?

Well, you are just telling me he isn’t going for governorship, but I know that he is going to run for governorship and I want you to read my lips. We know that he will eventually run for governorship and we pray that he runs for governorship.

Ahead of PDP primaries, there are so many of you in the race. What would you advance as your Unique Selling Points that you think will give you the PDP ticket?

We have formidable aspirants in PDP and that shows that it is the party to beat. If PDP isn’t strong, I don’t think people will decamp from where they were, to come and join PDP to run for election. I have a learning core advantage which no other aspirant has. I have been governor before, no other aspirant in Imo has been governor. I handed over to the present administration and I know what was where when I left office and I know what to retrieve when I go in. I can hit the ground running without making any other mistakes.

So, I think I have the advantage, because the structure we have in Imo State today, both the party and local government structure, development centers, those structures that were demolished by the present administration were inhabited by human beings and the party would harness them, if I am offered the ticket.

We must start from the known to the unknown, I can run with any candidate even the present governor, issue for issue. He has that advantage and I also have that singular advantage. I want to put a caveat; there is no aspirant in PDP today that cannot be a better governor. But the advantage I have is the pan Imo structure: I have the youths, the ten thousands youths I gave job, if you add their parents and relations, you get seventy thousands votes waiting to be harvested. The leader, the chairman of the ten thousands youth is there, the over one million artisans that bought my form to run for this governorship, the chairman is here.

So, everybody is united. The PDP giving me ticket will leverage on that and I can work with any of the aspirants, there will not be acrimony again.

You will agree with me that the strongest point of a chain is also its weakest point. The PDP today has array of gladiators. Now, the ward congresses have been concluded, acrimony has started. Do you believe that PDP will be able to manage this and not play into the hands of the opposition again?

Thank you very much. With God, I don’t think we will play into the hands of the opposition, because we know what is at stake. Acrimony and cataclysm are ingredients of politics and that’s what leaders are meant for— to be able to manage acrimony. So, I don’t think it is something new.

You left office for the incumbent governor, Rochas Okorochas. You are now going back to challenge the same person that defeated you. Is there any new blueprint in Imo State you haven’t presented, or you weren’t allowed to prosecute while you were in office?

I think this is a wonderful question. I am the only person that forgot the blueprint in government house! I know that everybody in Nigeria or all over the world knows that programmes and projects that create economy isn’t brick and mortar issue. You have to start from the drawing board until you go to the site.

The blueprint, which was a consensus blueprint of Imo State which I started need to be completed. If for example anything happens and I am not given the opportunity to exercise my tenure which is one more tenure to go, Imo State will be losing about N20 billion on uncompleted projects. And right now, if you look at programmes and projects we have started, most of them have suffered a lot of dislocations—some of the foreign investors have taken the present administration to court, we have over N4million judgment debt hanging on government. All the governance structures we erected have been demolished and that’s why people are craving that I should come back.

We erected the structures, we shall continue to complete our projects and seamlessly hand over to the next zone that should take the slot as the case may be. So, I have a blueprint, not Ikedi Ohakim blueprint, but the blueprint of Imo State— not one man blueprint.

You will agree with me that on assumption of office, the Imo state government set up a Committee, headed by one of the greatest Nigerian, Honourable Justice Chukuwudifu Oputa, who came out with the blueprint to be implemented called, ‘’The Pathway’’ and we were following it religiously. You will agree with me that in 2008 and 2009 Imo won the Federal Ministry of Environment prize as the cleanest city in Nigeria. In MDG, we scored number one, in rural development, we won World Bank prize, the Bank gave us $60million .

So, every programmes and projects we embarked upon what we have come to do is to complete the unfinished business.

http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=92479
If there is any state in Nigeria that has Massive number of qualified manpower, Imo state is one of them.
Apart from the fact that i don't support recycling of old politicians and military men as if they are all that a country of 170 million people can offer, Ohakim was a criminal. Ohakim wasted many opportunities and years of development for Imo state. He is bad news that should be confined to our unfortunate past.

Imo will present her most brilliant and progressive sons/daughters to take the state to her deserved pride of place in Africa.

Hopefully, they will maintain standard as the mall and build solid structures as in the picture for the hotel and office complex.

Can someone tell them to plant those pine-tree flowers around the parking lot in their 3D render exactly as it appeared? Planting grass and flowers just as they appeared in your render is part of the project implementation.

One also hope they build exactly the type of office complex and hotel in their render. Or at least build something very standard as in the picture below.

I like how you put the render side by side with the real picture. It makes it easier to see what has been achieved and what remains. I had almost forgotten about those building being part of the initial plan. Thank you for reminding us that this projects still remains those outstanding buildings before it can be declared truly completed.

I must commend the persianas group for replicating almost exactly what they had in their 3D render of the Polo Park mall, Enugu! Even the parking lot shape was done exactly. Based on that antecedent, I am sure they will build the type of structures they advertised for the hotel and office complex.

The PDP structure set up by Obasanjo when he controlled the party machinery was primarily to marginalize the Igbo. As God will have it, that structure collapsed with the sudden death of Yar' Adua. Remember Obasanjo zoned out every office away from the SE, even though the region was principally an PDP region.

GEJ cannot change this machinery overnight without tearing the party into factions when he needs unity the most. On our part, APC was formed by the merging of CPC and ACN. Two principal parties united only by their common hatred of the Igbo. They have never disguised this hatred by distributing their national offices to reflect the federal character of Nigerians. Infact, the APC party leaders like Hell rufai, Junaid Muhammed and Kwankwanso etc have at various times voiced their agenda and intention to even further exclude the Igbo in the scheme of things in Nigeria. Many of them have described the Igbo people using very scornful and openly hateful words.

Therefore, in spite of the short comings of the PDP, it remains the better of the two evils. The Igbo man must under no circumstance align with those that wish her death.
The dismay in the APC is that in spite of all their propaganda, the Igbo have become politically 'wiser' that they still support the PDP, which may not be perfect, but at least are open to negotiations in order to decrease Igbo marginalization in Nigeria and not to make it worst as APC has vowed to do if they ever grab power.
Absolutely on point!

In spite of its flaws, PDP is still the only pan - Nigerian party . It really needs to do away with the vexed Obasanjo zoning formula for political offices.

The APC on the other hand is a congregation of extremist and violent politicians. These people are prepared to levy war on Nigeria if they don't get their way. They could care less even if some if their supporters die. See how many of them support Boko Haram to perpetuate insecurity because Jonathan is in power.
It is the duty of every law abiding citizen to prevent such violent men from gaining political power. I have absolutely no doubt that if the type of immoral and violent men in APC get their way, Nigeria will be a war torn place based on their tribal and religious bigotry and impositions upon Nigeria.

If you can get reinforced plastic mold, you can use the mold to make your own custom made sinks and perhaps a toilet bowl with terrazzo for each project. It will really give hope to many looking for cheaper alternatives for building their homes.

Concrete sinks and toilet bowl may be cheaper alternatives in low income houses.

Oga m Spyder,
Where i have seen this, the entire unit is sold together as the Kitchen unit, with the kitchen sink, water forcet and wooden cabinet together as one unit.
So once it is bought, the plumbers and the bricklayers will now install it in the kitchen unit by connecting the water pipes which run under the kitchen floor. The difference is that Kitchen table abroad sits in the center of the kitchen, a design which has not caught on with the Naija elite. But, if a few people try it out, it will begin to reign as our things always turn out.

I don't know the processes involved in turning ceramic into hardened porcelain. I suspect it is the same way they make the plates.
But it looks like they reinforce it with something, perhaps tiny steel wire gauze. The way builders when decking buildings reinforce the decking by using rods plated together like a mat, before pouring the concrete.

Anyhow, all you need to learn is how to replicate the same magic using cement and concrete. If you know how to make Terrazzo floors, you can adapt the same process in making these beautiful concrete kitchen counter tops and toilet bowls. But you must polish it to make the final product of high quality and very desirable like a polished Terrazzo floor.

Then partner with a carpenter (cabinet maker) that will make the kitchen cabinets which you will lay the counter top.The carpenter (Cabinet maker) may also help you with making exclusive designs for each kitchen. So that each house gets a custom designed counter top for their kitchen. I'm sure many luxury homes in Naija will pay for such kitchen counter tops than the regular wooden counter tops we use.

You can adopt this method below to make the kitchen counter tops. Very importantly you can use (Cement) concrete to make that counter top just adding different colors of your choice. You can make it red, green, grey, brown or White like Terrazzo floors etc depending on the choice of the customer. Very importantly, like Terrazzo floors, they are polished until they shine. So it's hard to know they are concrete and not ceramic.
The process is exactly like how we make red cement concrete floors.Adding a mesh of very tiny rods for reinforcement is wise, because many people will be in the habit of sitting on their kitchen counter tops. You can try it out.

Oh! No wonder i keep crying for my igbo brothers, God never intended for Ndiigbo to suffer or be poor, he blessed us immensely.

Wen u don't know your blessings then it will be taken away from you like esau did to Jacob.

I see that happening everyday with certain groups taking away everything that belongs to ndiigbo.
@ the bolded, Igbo are immensely blessed but our problems are
1. Individualism
2. Copycat ideas instead of strategic reasoning to generate own ideas.

Individualism: Although the Igbos are hardworking like a donkey, they usually cannot work together to achieve a greater objective.Unlike many other groups in Nigeria, certain things can only be achieved by pulling together. Therefore, the Igboman continues to suffer from her inability to pull their massive presence and resources together.

Copycatism: Perhaps due to the type of education we receive nowadays which puts emphasis on cramming. Recently, the typical Igboman is unable to think independently and break new grounds. This has robbed us of our natural ability to be great innovators and inventors.

Today, every innovation must be COPIED from an originator, usually some white guy. The bad side of this is that if in a country like Nigeria, where there is a state conspiracy that nobody should develop our resources, then we suddenly have nothing to copy! Therefore we will simply sit there in poverty watching our God given resources waste without having any clue of what to do with them.
Instead we run to set up oil servicing companies because we can copy what the whites are doing, whereas with half of the money, we could set up lucrative small factories using coal and other abundant resources that we have.

This is why i believe we should encourage every state to document all the resources and minerals we have and hold seminars to enlighten our business people on how they can invest and become richer using the minerals, while creating jobs and paying taxes to the government.

Imagine that SE Nigeria has one of the most abundant ceramic deposit in the world. Yet all the tiles used in building houses, making tile floors and bathrooms etc, is imported from China ? WHY?? The ceramic factory at Umuahia has not received investors to modernize and expand into economically viable lines of production. Why not set up a huge modern industry using our God given resources, instead of waiting for others to set it up for us to copy? Ceramics has many uses in the building industry and not just for making plates and old pots for water in the villages.

I'm sure Oga Spyder would love to build a kitchen with this type of ceramic table-top design, Ceramic bathroom tiles and Ceramic floor tiles for our people. If we can set up the factory locally to start using our own God given resources.

Mind you, Nkalagu cement is the best limestone deposit in West Africa. In South Africa, many prosperous communities have sprung up from cement factories in their area. Such can be replicated in Ebonyi state with proper leadership and legislation.Dangote may truly be bribing those people to frustrate Ibeto just to maintain his monopoly in Eastern Cement business.

Just imagine that all the billions of naira that Igbos at home and in diaspora spend to build houses in the East and elsewhere in Nigeria which is funneled into Dangote Cement, a company that has refused to invest a penny in the SE, but will come and dump their cement to siphon our money to build plants elsewhere. The SE is the ONLY region of Nigeria Dangote refused to invest.
Dangote even imports and use Tanzanian coal to produce the cement he sells to us. The same Dangote is building a coal powered electricity plant there in Tanzania, when we have better quality coal in Enugu and we are one his biggest customers?

Why?
Is Kano not still part of Nigeria?

When Nigeria divides, its gonna be TO YOUR TENT O ISREAL

you better start telling your governors to build sufficent refugee camps for you all. You are going back to Biafra
That won't be a bad idea as long as you will get zero oil money which is the cornerstone idea of dividing Nigeria grin. You better start planting groundnuts and millet now. Lets see how you can sustain your London being as lazy as you are. Thoughtless folks. grin

The occupation like i rightly pointed out will not change things but will trigger things that would be a game change see below

2 things might likely follow.

The president stepping aside as a result of the pressure by world powers (EU, US etc) and handing over to the senate president
The military body announcing a temporary assumption of office to enforce peace

if by commission or omission Jonathan steps aside that would be the beginning of new beginnings
If a northern army officer illegally takes over power, no matter how temporary he says it will be, it will be over quickly for Nigeria. He cannot even quell the rebellion in the army, talk more around the country.

So what is the route of the railway
If you must know, it passes only thru 2 of the 3 southern regions. It starts from the SW and passes via Benin to Warri and then from PH to Calabar to clearly avoid the SE again!
