Politics › Re: I’m Yet To Be Briefed On Innoson Chairman’s Arrest – AGF by Cjrane2: 12:32pm On Dec 22, 2017
Now that the facts are clear

1. GTB withdrew N500 million from INNOSON"S account and claimed it was an "error"
2. GTB agreed to pay back the money at 22% interest
3. GTB then reneged on their promise and went to court twice and lost
4. GTB accused INNOSON of forging documents, yet could not produce the said forged documents and claimed the register for the transaction mysteriously got "burnt"
5. GTB continued to withdraw money secretly from INNOSON"s account and now the total debt to the customer is now almost N8 billion naira.
6. GTB claimed they were not in a finacial postion to pay the money, offered INNOSON shares in the bank and then withdrew the offer
7. GTB resorted to thuggery by using EFCC to bundle INNOSON as a criminal from his home just to intimidate him.

From the above, it is clear your money with these banks can be pilfered and if you catch them they will find ways to intimidate you.

GTB must pay INNOSON his money and stop making this a tribal issue.

INNOSON and many Igbo business men made a mistake to bank with a rogue institution like GTB

#Boycott GTB and better transfer your money to a safe bank or soon it will be your account that they erroneously deduct N500 million and send EFCC after you to intimidate you after robbing your account.

Politics › Re: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Cjrane2: 3:08am On Dec 22, 2017
ChimaAgbalajob:
I thank God there are Igbos who still reason.
it is so hard to articulate these things and telling ourselves the hard truth often does not go down well with many. Yet, we must find a way to articulate it and speak the hard truths to ourselves.

To begin with, I have no idea why Igbos think Lagos is superior to the SE. I can understand the huge economic advantages of Lagos and Abuja has excellent infrastructure and decent environment like Enugu, but i cannot fathom the fixation on Lagos.
Port harcourt to Aba axis has the same potential of Lagos to Ogun axis, so why aren't our people fixated in Port-Harcourt - Aba axis? It has same international airport, seaport and huge manufacturing in Aba. Oil industry in port Harcourt, so why not agitate to let more airlines ply the PH axis and reduce the risk and serious controversy generated by heavy dependence of southeasterners on Lagos?
You need to see where some of our people live in Lagos. I think the same think each time i see Nigerians in Libya and wonder what will make a Nigerian choose such a place. The way some of our people think because they live in Lagos is exactly like someone in Libya feeling superior to someone in Aba, Asaba or Abakaliki. For what? When they are being sold for pennies, sodomized and live in camps like animals in that Libya. In like manner, I tire for our people and their warped mentality about Lagos.

Most of our people are thoughtless noise makers. They will be shouting...
1. Build 2nd Niger Bridge
2. build Onitsha seaport
3. Give us international airport. blah blah blah...

Meanwhile, they would rather use airport in Lagos,Kano or Abuja than the one in their own region EVEN WHEN THEY ARE PAYING MORE! Even when you build the so called seaport, they still won't use it and they will spread rumor that it is local or used by local people or something. Although we will be quick to deny it, there is severe inferiority complex which we have to deal with to begin appreciating our own things and stop feeling anything in Lagos is superior to anything in Enugu, Onitsha or Aba. Many igbos simply cannot see beyond today. Everything is all about now , now, now and no thoughts about how to make sure his children and community are gainfully employed in their region instead of always being economic refugee to other regions to be exploited, killed and dispossessed.

Now the northerners are quietly using all sorts of strategies to get Kaduna airport to operate as international. They first used the excuse of closing Abuja airport for repairs to funnel federal funds into upgrading Kaduna airport. Then they started combining international flights coming into Kano to also land in Kaduna to pick up 10 passengers, yet nobody is complaining that it is killing local airlines. If you advise combination of flights for 2 southern airports, the fake theorists of it killing local airlines will be writing national headlines of it for one full year. But nobody sees what is going on between Kano and Kaduna airports now.

Most Igbos are just dumb hardworkers. They work so hard like donkeys to make money, while others use some sleazy way to quietly dispossess them of their wealth and prevent them from building a viable economy in their land. Imagine if most of these construction in Enugu patronize Ibeto as the northerners would definitely do. They will enable Ibeto and compete, as well as employing some of their cousins who would have attempted to cross the desert into Libya in search of work.

The same goes for INNOSON where Nigerian regime has used all sorts of subterfuge like denial of forex, taxation, extortion from security agencies to keep the company from truly taking off. Meanwhile all sorts of illegal government concessions are granted to Dangote, even when they don't need it. The problem with the Igbo is lack of strategic thinking. The average igbo is concerned about gathering enough for the next meal and providing for his family that he simply cannot think how what he spends his money on could mean a better future for his children and community.

I remember when Nigerians gleefully ate Thailand rice and then turned around to travel to Thailand and become maids, street sweepers or sex objects after spending Nigeria's wealth to Thailand through importation of rice which is produced in Abakaliki. I also remember when they ate foreign chicken and turkey saying if you ate Nigerian chicken, you were eating okuko igbo. Now folks have realized that if you spend on anything you can produce, you are helping to create insecurity, unemployment and poverty in Nigeria. It is the same principle in supporting Made in Aba or other industries based in the southeast.

Strategic economic thinking is simply to figure out how to spend your money in a way that it ultimately benefits you or benefits businesses that you will ultimately benefit from their survival.
The fact that they flatly refused to fix simple damage from rainstorm, but chose to do voodoo "runway repair" that should cost billions of naira. Mind you the pothole in question had already been repaired a few months ago by the State government, and it was safe enough to land Buhari's plane on the same runway 3 weeks ago, exposes their wickedly diabolic intentions.

For 5 men in reflective jackets to rake asphalt unto the runway.

What a shame.
Nobody should be deceived to trust these horrible people.

Knowing their wicked disposition to anything in the zone to be substandard, I predict that since they couldn't close the airport as they wanted, they will still do a substandard job that breaks down completely in a few months that will force the closure they are plotting.

These people have nothing good in their heart for the region. When it's Kaduna or Abuja airport to fix, they find Julius Berger to do the work to specification. If it's Enugu int'l airport, they use bricklayers hired from the market as engineers to mix sand and stones to "fix" international airport runway. Let them give the job to a reputable construction company as contractor to make sure specifications are met than to do and not use useless direct labor to "fix" an international airport runway.

PLease, I live in the US. Avoid building government ordered suburbs, they always become ghettos and it's a concept that city planners are regretting.

The government will never match our people's capacity to build. People will build their own suburbs and estates, you only need to open the land up. Not everything done in the west works. PLus the suburb you posted is ugly
No Sir,
You got it backwards. In Naija, the government only provides roads, electricity and facilitate transfer of C-of-O for the estate company to acquire land legally from the community for the stated project. The rest is up to the company to build and sell to the public.
If you go to Enugu thread you will see example of such government assisted estates by property123 being finished and sold.

Naija method is completely different from America or SA where the Governments actually build houses for low income people and "rents" it to them for next to nothing.Of course that will bring all sorts of lunatics together living for next to nothing rent on such government houses and thus will naturally breed high crime ghettos. In Naija, the entire house is sold to a new landlord who then decides who will live in his property at profitable rent.

You are not informed. New Owerri was created by Ndubuisi Kanu who equally commenced constrhction of 2 roads later completed by Mbakwe and then Concorde Hotel. Achike Udenwa boosted it with the construction of Area H Nekede housing and Akanchawa road while Ohakim added Yar'adua drive on the other side linking Onitsha road and linked Concorde road to 40-40 roundabout. Much of what you see today were done by Okorocha and there has been more build up under him because he opened up so many roads within New Owerri and 4 inland roads to link it with the old part. So the credit of planning belongs to Ndubuisi Kanu while all past and present governors contributed in implementation.

Can you believe this photo was taken in 2012 at 40-40 roundabout?
Let us put it this way, whom ever created new Owerri did a good job.
Kudos to Rochas for sticking to his vision of developing it to give the city great ambiance and modernity.
Rochas and I differ in our political opinions, but i respect and thank him immensely for at least his dedication to making Owerri stand out as a great city.

Now, the issue is not to stop and rest on your oars. New Owerri is just a small part of what the city can become. More "New Owerris' " must be created to ensure orderly development many years after Rochas. He must not overlook the need for the proper development of the Owerri Industrial Layout which is located along the Onitsha-Owerri expressway for development of industrial clusters. Encouraging people to go into massive cat fish farming and packaging as Smoked Fish or Fresh fish, poultry production and packaging of meat products for supply of malls and local markets are other ways of creating employment and supporting the local economy. Agriculture and services sector are key to growing Imo into an economic hub in Nigeria. If you target that at least 60% - 70% of all types of food, fish (Smoked or Fresh),pork, poultry products and beef consumed in Owerri must be produced in Imo state, you will make the Imo state very prosperous and grow the economy rapidly. Remember restructuring will happen someday sooner or later. So this strategy of self sufficiency in agriculture should already be a priority by now.

Rochas must open up new housing areas for the future regimes to continue orderly expansion of the city. He should therefore map out these areas NOW in Naze, Nekede, Amakohia, Egbeada, Orji and other suburb of the city for orderly development of those areas. Private Estate developers are then encouraged to take portions of the area to develop appropriately as in the master plan. Some of the areas such as Nekede can have bungalow housing estates for lower income folks with schools, mini-market, Police stations built to support the suburb communities. If Owerri can have an orderly expansion around the suburbs similar to Egbeada area estates for many years after Rochas, it would be his greatest legacy.

Most importantly, he should use his friendship with Buhari to authorize foreign airlines to fly into SMICA. FAAN and NCAA should hands off the airport and concession out the airport so that private companies may come in and properly plan it's internationalization.
Rochas can help Buhari to write his name in the history of Imo state by being the President remembered to have made SMICA truly international. Remember that GEJ merely expanded Enugu runway which was made international by Yar'Adua. Hence, you rarely find any easterner speaking any evil of Yar'Adua because he demonstrated in words and deed that he had nothing against the progress of the Igbos.

Without defending the Governors who need to do more with their allocations, Nigeria is looted more at the Federal level than what any state Governor no matter how corrupt can ever hope to do.

Imagine that from Kano to Oyo, From Sokoto to Port Harcourt, ANY major developmental project you see anywhere in Nigeria today is undertaken by the respective state government. Yet 36 of them collectively receive just 26% of federal resources. Then ask yourself what was done with a whopping 54% of our national resources cornered by the Federal Government quietly. The Federal Government never publish what they give themselves through Paris club and federal allocation because most if it is stolen.

Mind you even if the Federal Government decided to spend just half of their allocation (27%) on infrastructure in every state and keep the other 27% for general administration of the Federal Government, there will be a boom of infrastructural projects in every state in Nigeria and Nigeria will become a developed country within 10 years.

In the most recently shared allocation of November, 2017, look at all the massive money FG collects (54%) N248.2 billion, yet not a single Federal road or federal infrastructure is in good condition.

Yet it is the whole 36 states sharing paltry (26%) N125.9 billion that are doing most infrastructural projects anywhere in Nigeria today.

The level of corruption in the Federal Government is unprecedented.

They should hurry up and review this Abacha revenue formula so that states can be given breathing space to shoulder all the developmental burden of Nigeria they currently shoulder.

Have you been to new Owerri to see the large green spaces provided? I believe you saw that picture someone snapped from Concord hotel balcony, is the background any different from the pictures of abroad you showed? I've been to Enugu on several occasions, and if there is any city in dire need of greenery then it's Enugu because of its lateritic soils that is not appealing and always churns out dust. Even Abuja does not have more greens than new Owerri except maybe Maitama area. You're becoming a little too critical about Owerri, you don't except the trees that were planted to grow that same instant.
Abagworo, biko i don't have your time.

I am not here to say Enugu is finer than Owerri and those childish stuff you and Chino do. Actually, the new Governor Ugwuanyi in Enugu is tasteless and has truly disappointed because he does not maintain the city nor even plant more trees to complement what Sullivan Chime did to transform the city.

Again let me restate that i commend Rochas for his excellent work in bringing Owerri to almost a world class city, yet more needs to happen and i will not be afraid to say it. Massive landscaping effort is yet to be seen driving through Owerri. Even the heros arcade where the statues are should have dedicated landscapers to make the place a first class park environment and not just the few palm trees planted infront of the statues. Landscaping is what differentiates Nigerian cities from cities in South Africa, USA,France, Korea or abroad. Our typical building truly ain't bad, just that our cities lack enough vegetation cover to appear conducive for holidaying and business.

If you look at the pictures taken by the first guy in new Owerri, you will notice it has trees that why you subconsciously liked it without knowing it was the beautiful landscaping you like and not just because it has dual carriage way, which is also found on Douglas road.

All i have said and continue to say as highlighted by many others here who have been abroad is that concrete alone does not equate to beautiful city as Nigerians tend to think. Port Harcourt for example may be bigger and has more economic activities than Owerri or Calabar or Enugu, yet, it is an ugly city. Don't want to mention Lagos cos you already get the point.

When Akpabio did his transformation of Uyo, one thing he never forgot was landscaping of all his roads, roundabouts, flyovers, hotels etc. It all adds up to make a place look first world than third world.

Politics › Re: FAAC: FG, States, Lgs Share N609.95 Billion November Revenue by Cjrane2: 11:48pm On Dec 16, 2017
realjoker:
The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) distributed N609.95 billion to Federal, States and Local Governments as revenue generated in November.
This is N77.25 billion more than what it shared in October, Ahmed Idris, the Accountant-General of the Federation said.
Mr. Idris said that after the cost of collection deductions by FIRS, Customs and DPR, the Federal Government received N248.2 billion, representing 52.68 per cent; the states got N125.9 billion, representing 26.72 per cent and the 774 local councils received N97.06 billion, amounting to 20.60 per cent.
According to Mr. Idris, oil producing states got N54.48 billion, which represents the derivation share of 13 per cent.
He said the country generated N356.07 billion as mineral revenue and N193.46 billion as non-mineral revenue in November, both showing improvements over the earnings in October.
Mineral revenue increased by N38.78 billion, while non-oil mineral revenue also jumped by N68.65 billion.
Mr. Idris said oil revenue continues to be negatively impacted by low production due to poor maintenance, sabotage and the Force Majeure declared at Bonny Terminal.
He said the balance in the Excess Crude Account (ECA) as at Dec. 15 remained $2.317 billion. He also put the balance in the Excess Petroleum Profit Tax account, at $133 million.
Mr. Idris said the Federation Account has received instruction from the National Economic Council that $1 billion be removed from ECA to fight Boko Haram.
“The instruction has been given. But there is a process before money is taken out of an account. So unless that withdrawal is made, the balance remains the same.
“On what the money will be used for, the appropriate institution will have to give you that, namely the military, who are the ones that will utilise the money, and they know their needs,” he said.
On why the money is being taken from the ECA, Mr. Idris said everyone should know that it is a savings account and ordinarily should have been distributed to the three tiers of government.
“So if the same owners decide that part of it should be utilised to secure the country, to secure the system, to make the system work and provide security for life and property, I don’t think it should be an issue.
“If the Governor of Ekiti has a problem with that, he should have made his position known to his forum, which is the Governor’s Forum.
“His dissension should not come to me on the pages of newspapers. He is entitled to whatever, but it should be directed to the appropriate place,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mahmoud Yunusa, the Chairman, Commissioners of Finance Forum, said the distribution was timely, as it would enable states and local councils to pay workers ahead of Christmas. (NAN)

Majority of Igbo rich men and women abandoned the SE for Lagos, Abuja and P.Harcourt because no where was befitting enough for them to reside but with what is happening in Owerri now courtesy of Rochas, I foresee many of them relocating to Owerri for good. Calabar, P Harcourt and Enugu have been overtaking while Owerri now has its sights on Abuja and would soon be running neck and neck with the FCT!!
Let me first say, i commend Rochas for the massive improvement of Owerri. But he still needs to do more to complete the transformation through serious landscaping and generous use of pine trees and palm trees to green up the entire city.

Rochas should take landscaping and planting of trees seriously and extend runway of SMICA by 300 meters to reach 3KM to receive international flights.

Most Nigeria cities look like pile of concrete sh*t except parts of Enugu and Abuja because those two cities took landscaping seriously. Owerri at best will look like Minna where there are good wide roads but looks bare and dry without enough trees and flowers along every road and roundabout.

Unless you take measures to green up the city and plant palm and other aesthetic trees in the median and around most roads in Owerri, the city will always look dry and bare as opposed to looking like a relaxing and welcoming place in the pictures below.

The level of corruption in the Federal Government is unprecedented.

They should hurry up and review this Abacha revenue formula so that states can be given breathing space to shoulder all the developmental burden of Nigeria they currently shoulder.

APC just looting Nigeria as they please.

They dip their hand into our national treasury and remove $1 billion dollars to fund Buhari's re-election just like that.

If you ask them what the money taken will be used for, they same it's Boko Haram. Which they told us was technically defeated already. These thieves are robbing Nigerians and Nigerians are smiling and keeping quiet while being brazenly robbed.

Obiano will make a better prisedent.......but his Kinsmen won't support him smh
Obiano is needed at home to help build a solid foundation in his state.

Nigeria deserves people like Idi Amin and perhaps worse to rule it.
Nigeria' fate is already sealed unless somehow it gets good leaders to steer it away from it's destined path of destruction and disintegration.

Always available to come and masturbate on any igbo issues. Why choose the busiest time of the year to make the repairs? The timing is suspicious and riddled with ulterior motives.
Inspite of all the money funneled into Kano and Kaduna airports while neglecting Enugu.

Some airports are just a dormant waste of tax payers money as nobody fly's there. Yet, airports used by Nigerians are neglected because of where they are located.

Rilwayne I don't like how you are talking over there .have you been to the north ?why not visit first before talking .yes we lack the media to show case what we have but isn't it also the job of federal government to show case each and every one of the. States in Nigeria ?
Why not ask a lot of Yoruba's that have visited the north about the north and why a lot of them have refused to leave ?
That aside am trully happy for you over the admission and pray you get first class. Also be careful you know you are handsome ( if that pic on profile is you) devils come in form of women.

By the way. That comment in northerners not been seen on am is a joke ...please don't say that outside ..you sound tribalistic.
In terms of proper city development, northern Nigeria is the best kept secret in Nigeria. Northern cities are truly habitable nd comfortable.
I say this as a southerner and someone who served there in the north.

My only problem with the north is that you can NEVER be truly accepted as one of them no matter how many fulani wives you have or even if you converted to islam. So at any time, the pervasive peace can turn violent and you will always be the victim because they know you are a foreigner.

If Nigeria were truly one country and at peace with itself, northern cities will be the most vibrant as Nigerians will naturally prefer to permanently live in the north. Just as Zik and all the notable figures of the past were born in northern cities. But with the tribalism, rancor and suspicion in Nigeria of today, north will remain exactly as it is for a very long time because nobody that loves his life will dare to go and settle in the north for any reason whatsoever. Personally, i'd rather settle in Libya.

The minister of information has said that there has been no single bomb explosion since the All Progressives Congress took over power.

Lai Mohammed accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of rebranding itself with stolen arms money

- The minister said the PDP never understood the need for adequate security in a country

The minister of information, culture and tourism, Lai Mohammed has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is re-branding itself with stolen arms money.

Mohammed speaking in an interview with Vanguard said the PDP under the President Goodluck Jonathan's administration distributed $269 million cash and N100 billion which was supposed to be money meant to fight
Boko Haram terrorists.

Mohammed reacting to PDP's allegation that the $1 billion recently approved for the fight against terrorism is for the 2019 general election said the party does not know when to keep quiet.

He said: "The sad thing about PDP is that they do not know when not to talk. If they were smart they would know when not to talk." “If not for their rapacious corruption Boko Haram would not have metamorphosed into the monster that it became before we came in. If only they had approached governance with honesty transparency, and
sense of purpose Boko Haram would not have raged between 2009 and 2015, it was their inept handling of Boko Haram and their corruption that put us in this mess," Mohammed said. “They seem not to understand that the biggest challenge to any government and the primary responsibility of any government is law and order and security. It is because of the fact that we have been able to
contain Boko Haram that they were able to hold their national convention in Abuja.

“During their time they were not able to celebrate the National Day openly. Under their watch, Boko Haram not only occupied 27 local governments in Borno State, but was also active in almost ten states.

Not that alone, they used to stroll to the federal capital, and three times they went to bomb the United Nations, the Police headquarters and under their watch, the Thisday newspaper was bombed and under their watch, about 200 Chibok girls were abducted," Mohammed added.

The minister also said that since the All progressives Congress (APC) came into power there has been no single bomb explosion in the Federal Capital Territory.
"And that is not a mean feat! It is because they don’t understand what security means, they don’t even understand what terrorism means,” he said. “It does not lie in the mouth of the PDP to even criticise the government,
and it was their corruption that led us to where we are today.

They are spending the same money which they stole, and they are using the money to rebrand themselves, they have no moral justification whatsoever,” the minister fumed yesterday," Mohammed noted.

This is Jonathan's mistake of appeasement being repeated all over again. You alienate your base to please strange bedfellows

Some people will still not support you even if you gave them all the positions and the projects. They are just that sad and mean.
