These conspiracy theories funny. Instead of asking for full repair you want them to delay repairs so you can risk your life on bad runway. It's truly hilarious to see someone complain over nothing.
Aboki go and rest.
If you are caught is your wicked ways, then it's "Conspiracy theory"

What have i stated that is untrue?

1. You guys are forcing international airlines to land in both Kano and Kaduna airports to pick 15 passengers each -FACT

2. If any southern airport (E.g Enugu and Port Harcourt) tried to combine international flights, you are the first to come out and say it is killing the local airlines -FACT

3. The FG had flatly refused to repair of the glass cladding that was damaged during a rainstorm more than 3 years ago even when repair cost was estimated at about N200,000 naira -FACT

4. FG refused to repair potholes on Enugu runway earlier this year and instead working with Senate committee to close down the airport-FACT

5. The pothole on the runway was fixed by Enugu state government and flights have been landing safely since.. including Buhari's flight-FACT

6. FG refused to treat Enugu Intl. as an international airport and removed it from the list of 5 international airports due for concessioning-FACT

7. FG refused to give Turkish airline landing rights to Enugu and advised them to choose Kaduna or Kano airport - FACT

8. FG refused to complete Enugu intl. taxiway, even though it was part of the original contract. Instead they built an ariforce building right on the proposed taxiway-FACT

9. FG has abandoned the new Enugu intl. terminal building completed by GEJ & refused to instal Instrument landing system (ILS) which was part of that contract. -FACT

10. FG deliberately chose to scuttle flights into and out of Enugu by mischievously selecting the busiest week for the airport which is week before and after Christmas for their voodoo "runway repairs" which was already completed earlier in the year by Enugu state Government -FACT

11. The FG will NOT do any so called "runway repairs" after they have scuttled flights into Enugu intl. in it's busiest weeks because their true intention was NEVER to fix the airport whatsoever -FACT

If centenary city refers to Enugu Lifestyle & Golf City , then aggressive use of flowers to beautify the environment is a must o!

The Enugu Lifestyle & Golf City is supposed to the icon or a piece of America in Enugu. So effort must be made to stick with the original idea. Even if it takes 100 years to complete, the final product must measure up to the original concept.

You guys are busy using our common wealth to develop Kano and Kaduna airports, even when nobody goes there. Forcing international planes coming to Kano to become keke napep picking up one passenger from kano and one passenger from Kaduna. Yet, NCAA and FAAN don't see anything wrong with that.

If it's southern airports doing that, you will all be yelling now how the local airlines have been killed by that arrangement. Yet, all that you can think about for other parts of Nigeria is how to destroy the existing facility under the guise of some silly "repair"

The wicked soul of you guys is the reason Nigeria is such undeveloped and sorry place.

O'l boy shatap dia.

Folks have been crying for the FG to return Enugu intl. airport to the state government or concession it because it's clearly obvious they are hellbent on killing it and they flatly refused to hand over the airport.

Common windows that fell off for almost 3 years now hasn't been repaired. Rain still drench people while they are inside the terminal building. Who are you fooling?

Speaking of building airports, the FG only built airports in northern and Western Nigeria. Imo, Enugu and Asaba airports were NOT built by the Federal Government. They were only handed over by the respective state governments. Anambra is currently building one, so shatap on spreading lies and face facts.

If they cannot fix simply glass broken by winds for more than 3 years which was estimated to cost less than N200, 000 naira to repair, is it the already repaired runway that they will spend billions of naira to do? keep fooling yourselves because nobody is fooled here.

Chronic wailer weren't you crying about these bad runways in your thread. Now your saying they want to stall growth of runway. It's not even a full rehab like Abuja.
We completely know your wicked black soul and evil intentions, that is why everybody is concerned.
Since 2016, we have complained about potholes on the runway, your wicked father refused to address them because it's in hated 5%ers side of the country. The state government and others got together and fixed the bad spots.

We had called for an upgrade of Owerri airport first and then a specified period of closure for Akanu Ibiam Intl. airport for about 6 weeks as in the case of Abuja airport and divert all Enugu domestic and international traffic to Owerri airport which is closer for the people to their final destination. From 2016, till date you ignored it. You even ignored it during the visit of Buhari 3 weeks ago, which would have been perfect. Then in the week of christmas you suddenly remembered?

Interestingly, it's the week before Christmas and week after Christmas when the airport is busy that was chosen for the so called "palliative repairs". Then it will be over again until perhaps the week of Christmas in 2018 when another silly "palliative repair" will be given as excuse to shut down the airport at Christmas. Why can't they do the so called repairs in February or March? Mind you, they allowed Buhari's plane to land on that runway, it is the hated 5%ers they are more concerned about than Buhari's safety!

Truth is that NO so called "repairs" will ever take place on that runway under the present regime. This is just a wicked ploy to wreck havoc on the existing runway and force indefinite closure of the airport so that people of the region will again be forced to land 1,000 kilometers away in strange places and then embark on dangerous road trips to their region.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria on Thursday began repair works on the runway of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
Herrienta Yakubu, the General Manager in charge of Corporate Affairs, FAAN, stated this in a statement she issued in Lagos on Thursday.
She said that the first phase of the repair works would run from December 14 to December 21, 2017 while the second phase would be between December 27, 2017 and January 4, 2018.
Yakubu said: “There will be skeletal operations at the airport while the work is ongoing as the runway will open for operations from 0700 hours local time till 1500 hours local time on the proposed dates.
“This is to enable the contractor has enough working hours during the day time in order to obtain stable and even runway surface, while also completing the work within the stipulated timeframe.
“In line with Standards and Recommended Practices, FAAN has requested the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency to issue a Notice To Air Men in this regard.”
She said that FAAN apologised to intending travellers and the general public for any inconvenience the action might have on their plans.
SOURCE:https:https://punchng.com/faan-begins-repair-works-on-enugu-airport-runway/

It is clearly obvious they want to totally frustrate the growth of this airport.
Why would they choose it's busiest week in the year for their diabolical "repairs". Which they will still not do, because the intention is merely to stop Igbos from using the airport to make their trip back home smoother.

Why can't they postpone the repairs they failed do for the entire year to February of 2018? And reroute Enugu traffic to Owerri and Port Harcourt airports which are the closest airports

Politics › Re: Opening-up Eastern Ports To Decongest Lagos Port by Cjrane2: 1:54am On Dec 15, 2017
kettykin:
One of the greatest hindrances to efficiency at the seaports in Lagos is congestion. This is due to the incessant traffic gridlocks and bad state of the access roads to the port, thereby, making it impossible for importers to take delivery of their consignments as and when due.
The worrisome aspect of this ‘congestion’ is that apart from Apapa and Tin-Can Island seaports that handle over 85 percent of cargo imported into the country, Nigeria has seaports in Calabar, Warri, Onne and Rivers that remain under utilised. Four of these seaports put together do not measure up to one of the seaports in Lagos in terms of volume.
Ironically, the majority of shippers (importers and exporters) that use Lagos ports are located in the South East, South-South and Northern parts of country. As a result, these importers pay double in cost to move their cargo from Lagos by road to their warehouses located in their states
Here, bulk of the Lagos ports importers are constrained against their wish to import through Lagos ports since container laden vessels do not frequent the Eastern ports owing to barriers such as lack of political will to open-up these ports, shallow draft of water channels leading to the ports and security concern deterring shipping liners from patronising the ports

Considering the fact that cargo must get to the final destination at the right time, in good condition and at the most economic cost, South East, South-South and Northern importers, therefore, must use Lagos.
For instance, in terms of cost, shipping companies charge as much as N800,000 as deposit per container where the consignee’s address is outside Lagos against N150,000 if the destination of consignment is Lagos
Also, importation of some products e.g. pharmaceutical products are restricted to Lagos ports of Apapa and Tin-Can Island only, hence, the above mentioned regions with their very huge pharmaceutical markets are forced through government policy and directive to import their goods through the Lagos ports, thus leaving other ports of the regions unviable. Lagos ports are also the only legitimate ports for the export of non-oil products

Therefore, to address the problem of congestion currently rocking Lagos ports, government must start finding ways to review some import and export guidelines militating against the viability of Eastern ports. The government should also muster the political will to make the ports outside Lagos viable by addressing the infrastructural challenge facing them.

http://www.businessdayonline.com/opening-eastern-ports-decongest-lagos-port/
Nigeria is a country where some people believe that for them to suceed, others must die.

The same way Eastern ports were left dormant and instead have only one over congested port for a country of 180 million people, is the same way other international airports in the East are prevented from accessing foreign airlines so that everyone in a country of 180 million people is forced to use just one or two airports in the capital city. Just Imagine that.

lokobyforch:
Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose on Wednesday described President Muhammadu Buhari as ‘father of corruption’ over his refusal to petition Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Kayode Fayemi and other corrupt officials in his camp

In a statement issued by by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor accused Buhari of leading a government of corrupt people and shielding his cohorts from prosecution.

The statement reads “President Muhammadu Buhari must stop deceiving himself with his fight against corruption, Ibrahim Magu was challenged at a function in Abuja on the commission’s refusal to investigate Fayemi, despite the loads of petitions against him and the EFCC boss could not offer any explanation.

“The reality is that President Buhari is leading a government of scandalously corrupt people and one
of them is Dr Kayode Fayemi.

“It is even safe to say that President Buhari is the father of corruption and that has been further established by the attitude of
the President towards his men that have been accused of corruption.

“From MainaGate to allegation of award of $25 billion contracts without following due process made against Dr. Maikanti Baru by Dr Ibe Kachikwu, the DSS indictment for corruption of the Acting Chairman of EFCC, Ibrahim Magu and the alleged N500 million bribery said to have been paid to the Chief of Staff (COS), Abba Kyari by officials of the MTN Telecommunications Company, President Buhari has remained the shield over and above his corrupt men.”

Buhari is actually the grand Father of corruption.

All you need is to be Babachir or Burutai or Baru or some high ranking Fulani and you can steal and loot Nigeria as much as you can. Nothing will happen.

Let them continue looting and impoverishing Nigerians. It serves them right. They will rather travel to Libya to look for wealth than ask those stealing their wealth at home to stop it.

New allegations challenge the environment record of top UN official

Colum Lynch and Siobhán O'Grady, (c) 2017, Foreign Policy(c) 2017, Foreign Policy

Amina J. Mohammed, the U.N. deputy secretary-general, has ascended to the lofty pinnacle of global diplomacy on the back of her record as a champion of the environment and the poor. But in January, just weeks before assuming her current job, she spent her final days as Nigeria's environment minister doing something that has outraged activists. Despite a ban then in force on the export of rosewood, an endangered resource, she signed thousands of certificates authorizing the shipment of vast quantities of the wood.

The certificates "came in bags, and I just signed them because that is what I had to do," she recalled in an interview last month in her sprawling 38th-floor U.N. headquarters office in Manhattan overlooking the East River. "I don't remember how many."

A senior Nigerian forestry official, who asked not to be named, confirmed that Mohammed had signed 2,992 export certificates on Jan. 16.

Mohammed said her action was part of a complicated, though legal, balancing act aimed at ensuring Nigeria's threatened forests were being harvested sustainably while also honoring contracts with Chinese rosewood importers and protecting the livelihoods of a growing number of Nigerians who depend on the timber trade.
Lol... grin grin grin grin Anywhere abooki is in a position of trust, they will try to steal. It is only a natural trait the UN should forgive and forget.

The place does not look spectacular yet, but it could if effort is put into proper finishing.

Rochas should make the place amazing and world class by beautifying it with trees and flowers.

Projects in SE often look substandard and shabby mainly due to poor finishing leaving the bare red earth exposed without trees and flowers to beautify the place.

See pictures below on how Rochas can give the place a proper finishing with flowers and trees to make it "spectacular" if he wants to.
Sometimes i lose hope on SE projects because of typical poor finishing. They consider landscaping an unnecessary detail. Thus, their projects always come out appearing substandard simply for lack of trees and flowers to finish up the project properly.

Rochas built an International trade and Tourism center which could have been an Iconic building for Owerri resembling the Abuja international Conference center if he simply did proper landscaping with palm trees and grass! Typically, he didn't. So the potentially iconic building is rated as one of those village structures because it's beauty was never polished.

Imagine if an ugly structure like Le Meridien Uyo was made iconic through proper landscaping with trees. It will take a long time to get Governors who know that landscaping is actually the difference between shoddy look of Nigerian cities and the polished look of cities in Europe, South Africa or Asia.

Your opinion is welcomed. We have a green zone within this estate and a community centre sir, note also these are individual houses owned by different people with different choices. We have in place flower courts built within each compound. We have tried to accomodate various opinions in the design and we will also implement what the community wish in the future.
Good explanation.
But this is exactly the problem. Saying you are waiting for prospective home owners to plant flowers and trees around their homes and along the street is simply saying it will never happen. People can't even sweep their streets and you expect them to plant flowers? I know this is a difficult concept for estate developers in the Southeast to grasp, but it is already the norm in places like Abuja where they professionally plant trees and flowers around each house and along the roads. They do proper finishing of the estate so when you come in there, you already know it's a decent environment and you simply maintain it.

If your homes are worth N15 million the way they are, people will argue because they don't see what it could become with adequate flowers etc. Now if you added N500,000 and used that cost to green up each street and each house with adequate flowers and trees, you immediately transform the environment and people will not even argue if you said the houses are worth N16 - N20 million. Believe me, people pay for neighborhoods they live in and not just the direct physical cost of cement, electrical fittings and iron rods used in the physical construction of the house. Which unfortunately is what many property companies are narrowly focused on.
