PoliticsRe: PDP Plans To Obtain A Court Injunction On Monday To Stop Announcement Of Results by clemmonce(m): 6:34am On Feb 25, 2019
Yankee101:
Nigerians have an Esau spirit.

The ability to sell their birthright for a morsel of bread and a ladle of soup

The results at the polls are not being announced and much sorrow, blood.and tears have been shed at the polling units

Buharistans seek to force themselves back to power in a brazen manner. I've always said that if he accepts this, Tinubu's plans will pan out and Osinbanjo will become a puppet President. Be careful what you wish for.

I think it's high time i gave up on Nigeria. People like us will benefit no matter who is President. It will have just been nice if people that understood an economy, or can identify requisite talent needed to grow the country came to power. But i can't keep sending money to Nigerians to help feed, pay for school fees, go to the hospital etc If a nation cannot rise up and fulfil the true meaning of it's creed, i won't sacrifice myself for people unwilling to be saved. Even salvation in Christianity requires the sinner accepting salvation.

As you lay your bed, lay in it Nigerians. The economy will likely falter. Monies will be stolen. A new level of impunity (enter Ameachi, Yahaya Bello, Elrufai Et alia) will be unleashed. Lawlessness will grow like the pangs of childbirth without the ease of birthing. Generations will be born and die in Nigeria without knowing what kindness or a functional society looks like. Fulanis will rage. Yahoo, kidnapping and robbery due to hunger. Religious persecution will hover. Hunger will swallow the land. Unfortunately, it is the hardest Buhari fans that will be hardest hit. The iliterate almajiri, the fanatic young graduate looking for a job and the market women tricked by a 10k naira loan. INEC and other appointed officials will have lot's of looted money but no good roads to get them to a hospital on time when they fall ill. If there are, there won't be any good and qualified people at hand, becaise they've all fled to Asia, Europe, Americas or the Carribeans because of hunger, if they get a doctor or nurse there won't be any equipment or drugs to treat their ailments.

Rwanda was a war torn country in 1994, today she uses drones to deliver blood supplies to remote hospitals.

Ghana was chased out of Nigeria in the 80s with Ghana must go mantras, today nigerians are being chased out of ghana because we've overstayed our welcome.

We've had oil and gas for ages, now the Niger Delta is polluted, NNPC is richer than states and operating like a cult with secret transactions and accounts, pension funds of future generations is being looted, the people don't know or know but do nothing about it. No real ongoing investment in future technology. We don't have robotics, AI, Neural networks or chip making learning centres. We are walking into the 22nd century to compete with sticks and stones.

In the 80s you could go to Kaduna and get your UK visa same day via 3rd party submission, today there are no such consulates spread around or the liberty to travel to any nation of your choice. If you do you face scrutiny for your skin colour and the sins of your countrymen. Visas are harder and will continue to be harder. Only the best of Nigerians will get visas easily, allowed entrance to better other economies while naija suffers.

Neither Atiku nor Buhari were supposed to be elected president. Both have failed Nigerians at different times in history. Any of the young educated folks should have been better. But because only a major party can win an election, the choice became the best of 2 evils. Nigerians at various levels (military, INEC, even young corpers and some voters) decided that for a morsel and a ladle of soup, Nigeria's collective future was not important.

Adieu my former motherland.

If I've never settled for America in my heart, tonight as i cry for my old nation in my heart, i look to me new nation and tell myself with a sigh, WELCOME TO AMERICA!

The greatest achievement of this administration is the beatification of poverty, most of the people (outside the political profiteers) still supporting PMB are the poverty stricken people whose only consolation is in "Jailing of the Rich", the government have successfully sold the notion to these set of people that becoming rich is evil and anybody doing well financially is a thief and looter who is to be executed, this part of the reason why illiteracy has being weaponised over the years by the political elites to perpetually keep their people in servitude and slavery.

Nairaland GeneralRe: 5 Secret Life Lessons To Learn From The Chess Game - Become Successful In Life by clemmonce(m): 6:43pm On Feb 15, 2019
BiafraBushBoy:
When it comes to planning, strategy, and tactics, only one board has all these in one – and that is Chess!

Chess players are considered intelligent and strategic, which has made the game one of the most difficult board games ever. It has been used as a stimulant for great warriors who went to war when it comes to planning war strategies.

We all know that life is warfare, and there is so much we can learn when it comes to playing chess.

At the end of this post, two things will happen;

- You will want to learn chess

- You will learn to apply some chess rules to your everyday life.

I started playing chess a few years ago, and it has really affected the way I lived my life – most likely positively.

Still thinking about what could be the life lessons to learn from playing chess?

5 Secret Life Lesson to Learn from Playing Chess

Playing chess is fun, but there are one or two lessons you can learn from it. What are they?

1.You learn the basics before playing

You can’t win a chess game without learning the basic moves. To be able to even win a chess game, you must understand how chess is played and other simple moves.

What this means

Skill acquisition is very necessary for life. Especially as a Nigerian, without skill, you are as good as finished – unless you have the connections.

In this last post, I listed out some simple skills that can make you so much money. Thanks, goodness that lots of people responded, and they are getting trained already. It isn’t too late to acquire any of those skills and start your journey towards financial freedom.

2. You develop yourself before Advancing

In chess, you have to develop your minor pieces before you advance. Development means taking control of the center of the board. In most cases, whoever takes control of the board center has a higher chance of winning the game;

What this means

Personal development is important in helping you succeed in life. You must develop yourself in your key areas before you are able to move forward in life.

Skill acquisition is also one of the ways to develop your life. The more skills you have like;

Soft skills (Analytical thinking, ability to work under pressure, Oratory, etc)

Hard Skills (Graphics Design, Web App Dev, Mobile App Dev, etc)

Educational qualifications (Certifications, Trainings, etc)

All of these will position you to advance far in life without obstacles.

3. Learn to Exchange sometimes

In the game of chess, at some point, you have to exchange pieces just to move the game forward. This is usually set up by those who feel they are in a stronger position.

What this means

You can’t have everything in life. Sometimes you need to use what you have to get what you don’t have. It musn’t be in a bad way only, there are other ways to make exchanges that isn’t immoral. As long as it favors you, go ahead with the exchange.

Think of when buying someone’s idea or investing in an already existing business. Always use what you have to get what you don’t have!

4. Always protect your assets

Your most valuable piece on the board is your king. For safety, the king is hidden in a move called “Castling”. This will help protect the king from danger.

What this means

Identify your valuable assets and never lose them. They might be the skills you’ve acquired, your money, or knowledge.

No matter what happens, always protect those assets that are valuable to you. Never lose them for anything.

5. Think before you leap

Aside from the opening stages, it takes an average of 1 minute or more for a chess player to figure out the next step to take. This helps to curb failure and improve chances of winning.

What this means

How many times have you sat down to think about the possible outcome of any move you decide to make in life. Critical reasoning breeds success, and that is one of the foundations of success in life.

Bonus

Keep fighting till the end

As long as the king isn’t checkmated yet, you haven’t lost. Keep looking for escape routes to force a draw.

What it means

It simply means don’t give up till you can no longer breath. As long as there is life, there is HOPE.

Thank you so many guys; If you are interested in learning a skill that can help you achieve so much in life in terms of finances, I have a recommendation for you.

XaintJoel20:
I would have done that long before now, but I still think she is too good to let go just like that.

I think I should tell you some few things you should know about her:
After our service year I was struggling to get a job and she advice I set up a business and helped with about 50% of the capital with which I started my current business.

When we started, she bought a large plot of land in my state and just recently developing the plot for agricultural use.

On all the occasion she has visited me in my state, she has done so with her money and also getting plenty of goodies for me and my family.

Just recently, she bought into my lifelong plan of travelling out of the country. She has put visible plan on ground for us to leave the country soon after our wedding.

The truth, is that when I think of her inbuilt qualities, I am force to believe I will be on the losing side if she fails into the hands of someone else.
That's why I said I am in a dilemma.
after reading your story and your comment I can conclude that you are selfish and self centered. If the girl got all this qualities like you said then LET HER GO. You are blocking other potential guys from meeting her because she thinks you are in with her.
Here is your problem.
1. You don't know what you want. Most time we think we know what we want but in reality we don't.
2.You are confused. You have this feeling of I can still get someone better but you are scared you might not get someone like her. So you are confuse.
In summary : Please let her go and don't marry her out of fear that you might not get someone better so you want to keep like a trophy and then you mess her life. If you truly like her as a person , let her go.
You need to work on yourself. This feeling you are getting is a feeling of unpreparedness and fear of commitment.

2019: We Won’t Stop Supporting Olawepo Hashim ― Middle Belt Elders

ELDERS of the Middle Belt Region under the auspices of the Middle Belt Elders Forum and some groups in the region declared late on Monday that they would continue to support the presidential ambition of the candidate of the Peoples Trust (PT) in the February 16, elections.

The leaders, at a meeting in Abuja late on Monday, said that the region would deliver its votes to PT’s Olawepo Hashim, notwithstanding efforts aimed at dividing the people.

The groups, led by a former chieftain of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), Air Commodore Dan Suleiman (rtd) insisted that Olawepo-Hashim remained their choice for the presidency in the February 16 election.

Besides Air Commodore Dan Suleiman (rtd.) other leaders of the Middle Belt at the meeting included, Dr Musa Moda, Elizabeth Jibrin, Dr Emmanuel Enecheyo, Dr Ene, Captain Agada Joe (retd.), and Hon. Jonathan Asake.

The elders further declared that they had resolved to leave no stone unturned in actualising the political emancipation of the region.

According to Dan Suleiman, “This is very heart-warming because there are some events happening these days which begin to give one doubt as to whether Middle Belt is splitting.

“Last Sunday this meeting was called and another meeting was called elsewhere and some of our Middle Belt elders went there.

Today the same thing happened. This is not by accident.

“I am beginning to feel that there is an effort to side-line Middle Belt or to side-track Middle Belt. We have to be very careful that we are not dragged to the sidelines.”

Suleiman claimed that the Middle Belt had originally reached a decision alongside the groups in the Southern part of the country to produce a Christian presidential candidate.

The Middle Belt Elders also indicated that the reported Middle Belt endorsement of the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, was an attempt to divide the Middle Belt ahead of the presidential election.

The leader of Coalition of Middle Belt Groups, Mr Suleman Dauda Sukukum, said that the groups would work assiduously for the success of Olawepo-Hashim in the February 16 polls.

He described Olawepo as a bridge builder and unifier of the Northern and southern Nigeria, adding that the presidential hopeful is the “contemporary amalgamation of the North and the south .”

An excited Olawepo-Hashim appealed to Nigerians to remain peaceful and united even as he urged them to vote for a credible alternative that would uplift Nigeria to greater heights.

I don't normally Comment on politics matters but I bumped on this thread and feels it's best time to voice out my own opinion using this avenue of FTC.

Am from mbaise in imo state and this is what I have to say about PMB (APC) and Atiku (PDP).

In my own personal opinion,I think it's too early to judge this gorvernment with only meagre 4years in power. Even in this their 4 years, they have done some tremendous things that is glaring to a neutral non biased person.
Electricity has improved tremendously in my area. I normally get up to 15hrs+ power supply baring any unforeseen circumstances like rain, pole damage, and some technical malfunctions.
The transport sector is better than ever. the trains speaks for itself, our aero space is now safe.(at least never heard of civilian plane crash in a while) and our airport terminals is now returning back to glory days gradually.
Our agriculture aspect is a thing to boast of,I personally can boast of eating those abakiliki rice.apart from festive periods and some sundays when we eat foreign rice. At least we now produce rice in Nigeria.

Some people say the president can't speak well and that he is gradually diminishing. that might be true but in my own, I don't think vocal communication or physical agility builds economy.its ideas of the president, his appointees, you and me that improves the economy of our country and not whether the president speaks well or not.
Atiku might not be a bad option but we haven't exhausted the prowess of this present gorvernment.it will be just fair to give them their own fair share of time to time and watch how things unfolds. And morever the OBJ Atiku era wasn't a thing to write home about, so we expecting a magic from Atiku is like just gambling on 2.00 odd which is 50/50 of it coming thru.

All in all, I think Nigeria and it's people will still come out stronger no matter the situation/personnel that springs up come after the elections as we have always been

PEACE
Oga go and sit down. You have a leader that does not know his left from right where will he lead you to. You just said it is the idea of the president that builds economy. What idea do you think some one like Buhari have ?? N

APC cannot be smarter than we Nigerians. With all the public outcry against the impoverished and harmful government of Buhari, I wonder the rigging machinery they plan to adoptDon't be deceived by Osinbajo as a Christian Vice President. Buhari's main agenda is Islamization of Nigeria under the watch of Pastor Yemi Osinbajo.
Under Buhari, Nigeria is suddenly being governed by Islamic heads of almost all Federal Government MDAs, yet we have a Pastor VP who doesn't see anything wrong with that.
Child of God (Christian) wake up from your slumber of IGNORANCE.Trademoni scam is meant to enrich Osinbajo as well as to buy votes for the APC.
A disapportionable amount has been earmarked for Osinbajo's market rallies across the nation to that actually being disbursed to the traders.
Osinbajo's junketting from one market to another comes at a huge financial cost. The cost of chattering helicopters for this travesty is where Osinbajo is making a killing. It is rumoured that Caverton is being paid 80 million naira daily in ferrying the midget around.

I still wonder why any young Nigerian will say he wants to vote for Buhari. I can not just understand. Leadership is critical to nation building. A leader who is old , 90% probability he is an illetrate, no business acumen , nothing. On what basis are they voting for him ?? All they talk about is corruption .
Corruption is not the only problem with Nigeria.. How many people have gone go jail on corruption charges.? Orji Uzor Kalu is now a saint. Obanikoro is a saint, Ameachi is a saint, Tinubu is a saint, A man that it took six months before he could name his cabinet and after naming it all we saw were old faces , same corrupt people.
