keside: pls OP, I need to see the source of this information. cos I knw pple that contributed towards the building of that university at every Sunday service back in '02-'03. is it that the donations of the congregation is not even appreciated?

So the missionaries that brought free education and health services to as a tool for evangelism are also fools? Those that brought the gospel to us touched our lives and left us better than they met us. They didn't just tell us that Jesus loves us, they showed it by choosing to suffer our afflictions (the mosquito bites etc) and ignoring the comfort of their home country, gave us free education and health paid for by tithes and offerings from their parent churches in the West. That is christianity as defined by Acts of Apostles Chapter 4. There is no greater evangelism than actioning the love of christ to the world. Jesus was all about charity, so why should it be a problem for "men of God",the custodian of His mantle today to just be like christ?

If Oyedepo fasted on his knees, what were his prayers? To gain the whole world so he can glorify mammon with his wealth? So the fact that he was called means he would always be right? Saul, King of Israel was annointed, yet he derailed and the same God that annointed him over Israel deserted him. Oyedepo is not an angel, he is a human being.

Oyedepo is not a true christian by Bible standard. That much is clear and all those following him blindly should go and read Revelations 2 and 3 about the 7 churches which is symbolic of the last day churches. Many profess christ but have abandoned the essence of their calling and have been carried away by their worldly desire for wealth, personal glory etc.

Some of you don't get it. What business does he have with building a business empire when God called him to feed the sheep? Please take clues from Jesus' reminders to his disciples in John chapter 21. When Jesus was crucified, his disciples mourned for a few days and went back to fishing. After resurrection, Jesus appeared to them by the sea and reminded them of their callings. He repeated three times "Simon, son of jonas, loveth thou me......feed my sheep".

You cannot abandon the gospel for business and still lay claim to doing the work of God. Check Matthew 6 vs 19-24. You cannot serve God and mammon. You have to leave one for the other. The work of a priest is a difficult one. It is a calling to a life of denial and service to the Kingdom of God. You have no business laying treasures here on earth.

I'm saying that Oyedepo has abandoned his calling (if he ever had one). And I'm yet to see anyone prove otherwise citing the Bible.

These are two of the deepest comments I have seen here. But let us not forget what Apostle Paul said in Phil 1:18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

You claim to be versed in the spirit, right? I'm alarmed that you didn't disprove any of the points I made from the Bible. You only showed that it bites you hard since its the truth. Anyway, support Paul's tent making business with references from the Bible, please. I would only argue from the Bible. I only know Paul was a trained law attorney.

I'm not a catholic. I'm a pentecostal christian who reads my Bible thoroughly. Nobody can bamboozle me with arrant doctrines.

X factorial, I must comment here that Paul actually worked and will back it up with scriptures but must emphasise here that he didn't live an extravagant life. Please pardon the rudeness of that poster.
1. 1 Cor. 9:6 Paul asks, “Are Barnabas and I the only ones who cannot refrain from working for a living?” This suggests strongly that he worked on the first journey, the only time the two men traveled together. They must have supported themselves as they went through Cyprus and Galatia, and continued to do so after they formed separate teams.
2. And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers. (Acts 18:3 KJV).

If you read the whole of that 1 cor 9. You will see that he worked but never lived an extravagant life.

I don't understand the basis of ur argument concerning the annointing oil. Is it that those using it are not praying on it by faith? Because from what you were trying to lay emphasis on,you didn't deny that the use of annointing oil was recommended by the apostles but that those practising it are not praying on it by faith. So tell me brother what are they using when they pray :"that the Holy Spirit should incubate the oil/water/hankerchieves and dat as they use it on the sick, the sick shall be healed,the lame shall walk,the dead shall rise,etc." if that is not a prayer of faith. Please let me know what a prayer of faith is.

The above verse simply tells us that God could show us things based on what we already have in mind. However, if u are praying to God without any one in mind, then all you have do is to wait. Most times when God says soon, it could be years.

3. When challenges come in a marriage, there are biblical principles to tackle it so it won't resolve into a divorce.
4. It is good to forgive other than divorce your partner if he/she goes terribly wrong. Do not harden your heart.
5. If you must divorce due to infidelity, then you can't re-marry, hence it is adultery.
6. Do not marry a divorced person, when his/her 'ex-spouse' is still alive, hence it is adultery.
7. Any divorcee can re-marry when the partner is dead. It is not good to be alone.
8. Even when divorced, make sure you've forgiven your partner, and don't hesitate to continue your responsibility (e.g. children)
9. There's no 'perfect' marriage. Each party must work hard to make it work.
10.Do not have sex with anyone one you are not married to, whether you are divorced or not.[/b]

The best time to avoid a potential divorce is when you are single.

I have heard a lot preaching and read a lot of books on this divorce issue. I am sorryto say but many men of God seem to miss it including kenneth Haggin (in his book - marriage,divorce and re-marriage).
As far as i am concerned, the bible allows me to divorce on condition of infidelity.
Some even say the adultery in matt 5:32 is not adultery but if ur wife claims to be a virgin and u find that she is not after marriage then u can divorce her. As far as I'm concerned, that is not what i understand by that scripture.
