Hello everyone, I've searched the internet and cannot find help with my issue.
I want to know if I can apply for a Nigerian passport without yet being a citizen.
I was born in America but both of my parents are Nigerian. Neither of my parents have their birth certificates but my dad has a current Nigerian passport. My birth certificate also states that my parents nationality is Nigerian.
I know that since my parents are both Nigerian I'm automatically granted Nigerian citizenship but I've never applied for it.
I'm wondering if I can apply for a Nigerian passport and use my dad's passport and my birth certificate to prove my citizenship.
Any help or information would be greatly appreciated!

Tot anyone born in US is a citizen?....Simply go to the nearest Nigeria embassy and enquire but be prepared for insults and snubbish attitudes! Nigerians in public service always rep wherever the are!

I think you need an affidavit then a newspaper change of name publication to officially/legally cover the disparity and ensure the validity of affected documents that can't be changed
