I can see you have started the process for Apega reg...I have started too though I'm still waiting for PPR. I wanna know, are you going for EIT or PE? PE requirements are outrageously crazy....
I'm applying for EIT. I don't think you can easily get PE without Canadian experience. Meanwhile, you could get EIT now and work in Canada for a short time before upgrading to PEng.

My good friend, @cochtrane

Yes, It's been a while I last heard from you. How is Canada treating you? Which province are you now?

I'm doing great and the application is coasting smoothly to a final praise-filled ending. grin
Iyanu ma sele soon by God's grace.

Keep blazing the trail over there, we are coming too.

It will end in praise IJN!
It's nice here. I've been to both Ontario and Alberta. I think I'm gonna settle in AB. Trying to complete the APEGA process for now. But I'm only on a short landing. I'll be out of here and back in Nigeria sooner.
Glad to hear your application is going good. Keep us posted.

@Ramj, your post's funny. Your IELTS marking on point, lol.

Please how can I change naira in my Nigerian bank account to Canadian dollars. I’m presently in Calgary.

Thanks
There are a handful of options:
- a wire transfer from Nigeria
- withdraw your money from any of their ATMs with your Nigerian card and deposit into your canadian account
- Western union from Nigeria into your Canadian account
Hello cochtrane, since WES already has your transcripts and has been evaluated document by document, I don't think WAEC will be required. You can start the upgrade, then see if WES will list it as required documents.
The WAEC is not really that stressful, once its sent to WES, they always confirm without you following up or calling anybody there.
I'm evaluating my BSc as well for this same purpose.
Thanks @Dizzy007, @smslive2, @Ramj. I've started the WAEC process just to be all safe.

Hello people.....
Congratulations to all those who got PPR, ITA and to those that passed IELTS. I wish everyone the best in this journey to better livelihood. Please all the seniors in the house, I need your input on this matter because it's beginning to frustrate my plans. So I started this process in June by requesting for WES evaluation. The transcript got to them in July (Masters) and they sent it back to university of Ibadan in the 13th of August for verification and since then, nothing has happened. University of Ibadan is claiming that they did not see the mail from WES. I printed my own correspondence and took it there and they still insisted that they can't work with that. After 7weeks, WES sent another mail to them and I knew this because I received a notification but they still said they haven't received any mail from WES. I need advise as this is beginning to drag my process and I have limited time to pull this through. Am open to advise and opinion on how to tackle either WES or University of Ibadan.
I think you got a couple of great ideas already. What i know some others try is to establish contact with an insider at your Records office and ensure this person can help follow up. Of course you'd have to tip the person to ensure he/she is on the lookout for the WES mail. Works all the time.

Hello there,
If WES verified a Nigerian university degree then YES you will need WAEC for upgrade, but if otherwise you wont.

Regards
Just to be clear, WAEC will be needed in order to upgrade to the course-by-course evaluation needed by APEGA, if my BSC degree is from Nigeria?

Hello Everyone,

For anyone who recently upgraded their ECA with WES for APEGA certification, does one need to send secondary school results (WAEC) for this upgrade?

Payslips are not mandatory requirements. I think you can do without them, if you want.

Hi All,
So I have a girlfriend taking her ielts test next week.

Thing is she is still undecided on her job experience.

She has not worked a day in her life, so to speak.

More of volunteer work.

She has managed her father's bakery and her father's pure water venture.

She has also managed her mother's school for a while.

She has a BSc in Business Admin and MBA too.

How should she sell her Skills to Canada immigration?

My question really is WHAT KIND OF SKILLS SHOULD SHE PUT FORWARD?

Thank you.
As @Estac said, she can claim managerial skills. There are a couple such NOCs.

Good morning all

I just discovered this thread and I wish I knew about it way before now as things would have been a lot faster and tidier. Well, better late than never.

You guys are doing a fantastic job. May God bless and reward you all with your heart most desires speedily.

My question is regarding pay slips. I have an outstanding loan on my mine with a balance of almost 3m, if I submit those pay slips will it raise any form of issues regarding my application?

Thanks for anticipated responses.
Is the deficit visible on your payslips? Is it also visible on your bank account?

My brother, who got his PPR recently, had a deficit of about 2m which wasn't visible on his accounts or payslips.

In this business, no news is somewhat good news. I wouldn't be so worried if I were you.

WES now requires that you evaluate your WAEC, so you gotta do that too.

Hello Seniors!

I have been reading forth and back for a while now.
Please I need your help with study materials for Ielts.
Kindly assist with whatever part of the exams you have material o.

Thanks.

Also, do I need Wes certification since I have masters already (UK) ?

My basic profile at the moment :
Working
Masters degree
36-38 years

What band of score should I be aiming for? I will really appreciate all the help I can get as I easily give up on things of this nature but I know I'm with the right support group to motivate me for success.

Thanks for your help.
Yes, you need WES evaluation. Everyone needs to do ECA. And for IELTS, you should aim for the highest scores possible in all components. Check out page 0. You should find everything you need there including helpful IELTS materials.

I'm so sad sad

Ielts
L 8.5
R 9.0
S 7.5
W 6.5

Please how do I apply for a remark? I'm so sure I did that writing well. How long will it take?
Wow, such good result stained by the writing score. Of course you should apply for the writing remark. High chance they'll upgrade it. Go to BC and fill a request for remark. Costs 15k. Takes 2 to 4 weeks or so from when the request is received by the examiners, though some have reported not getting feedback until 8-10 weeks. You'd need to apply within 6 weeks of seeing your score.

Congrats to those that are just about on their way out to our dear country already...may God do ours too sharpaly.

Please help me here, how does this ielts result look for a 35yrs old female MBA holder who has been working in customer care for a long time but with only 1.5yrs experience in supervisory role? Which Nov should she choose? Also, possibility of having a sibling there before the end of first quarter next year is high.

L: 8
R: 7.5
W:6.5
7.5

Thank you so much for your assistance. Please be liberal with your advice.
Everything looks good except your IELTS score. You'd need to retake it to get more points.

Hi, it counts as a degree plus a diploma certificate. Two friends of mine used theirs for WES and got additional points from the diploma results.
I think you probably need to be clear about which "diploma results". I know WES has not positively evaluated Unilag's diploma.

Most likely fake news. Oyinbo people don't do these sorts of things in my experience.how would they obtain consent at that time when you haven't committed a crime and your phone was not unlocked? What reason did they give for going through his phone?

Abeg...takes this with a bag of salt...
You are wrong. You only need Google it. You'll find tons of stories where people have been detained at the US and Canadian borders for trying to enter these countries with child pornography.

Not really. A Google search would unearth all such info in less than two hours. Much less time if the person has real online footprint.

They had to go through her photographers fb cos her security settings on fb blocks people not in her network from finding her or seeing her posts. This is a feature lots of folks forget to activate.
And if you ask me, that's incredibly worrisome. That's too much footprint to leave easily accessible to an online stranger. This means anyone else who isn't with Canadian Immigration could possibly get a whole lot of private information about her without her knowing. Personally, I'd work on reducing such online footprint.

Newmum0615, I think you should be wary about leaving that much info easily accessible online.
