Good day my E-Family,
Please has anyone Evaluate HND and 2yrs Diploma? especially from Kaduna Polytechnic? What is the Evaluate report? Regards
Same as every other OND & HND certificate obtained in Nigeria. Evaluating both earns you a combination of positive evaluations with which you can claim 'Two or more certificates'.

These two answers (1 & 2) on the CIC website should clarify for you. The work experience you gained during that period counts as part of your educational program.

Please has anyone done evaluation of 1 year Diploma from UNILAG with WES? (Diploma before Bachelors degree)
If yes please what was the ECA result? the Equivalent.
Thanks.
Nope, WES does not positively evaluate Unilag's 1-year diploma. It's all part of your BSC as far as they are concerned.

Hi everyone.

I am new here but I have been reading the posts from Part 1. I want to ask if I should go-ahead to sit for the next IELTS before checking my eligibility because the eligibility form is saying I am not qualified since I wrote "NONE" for the language test.

In summary, is the language test the 1st thing to do before checking eligibility?

P.S: I have BSc. Accounting, I am 36 with 4 years work experience.
Hubby has BSc. Business Admin, MSc. Economics (in view) he is 50 with 20 years work experience.
We have a daughter.

I look forward to hearing your response. Thanks in advance.
When you check your eligibility, what you do is that you fill in some random scores under IELTS, typically scores you expect to get when you write the exam. That way, you know for sure what your eligibility is like. You can then go ahead and write the exam anytime later.

Hello,

Im kinda of a newbie. This thread has been so informative.

I just completed my Ielts last week. Hopeful for a good score.

wanna evaluate my cred. I have a BSc Economics and i recently completed a "CAM Diploma Marketing communications by Chatered institute of marketing UK"

Do i have to evaluate both of them of the most recent?

I have gone through the cic website and i got really confused.

Please help me out. Thanks
I looked up this Marketing Diploma, and it looks like something that could earn you a one-year college level certificate assessment from WES. You should definitely go for it as suggested by chigrad.

My brother got his PPR. I'll seek his permission regarding posting his timeline here, but for now I can confirm at least one thing about his application:

1. He used ATS (from ICAN), in addition with his BSc., to claim 'Two or more certificates'. ATS was evaluated as a one-year college certificate.
This at least serves as confirmation that ATS works fine.

This will be assessed as a professional degree and will earn you same points as a Masters degree.

A very brilliant mind steeped in this nonsense. Who is the bride and who is the groom? What is the new nationality of the couple, Nigerian or Kenyan? If they adopt children, what is the surname of the children? This is identity crises at its worst. I was also nominated by then editor Rod Amis, but wasn't as lucky.

Hello,

I have a CRS score of 439. I had a band 7.5 in IELTS. Please any suggestions on how I can boost my CRS score? Please I await suggestions. Thank you.
To me, 439 seems good enough if you stay in the pool for a year (at most).
If you don't have additional certificates, retaking IELTS looks your best bet.

Please is there anyone here that did the 1 year Unilag diploma and then proceeded to the Bsc program here and has had their credentials evaluated by WES?

WES says that my 3year Bsc transcript (political science) is incomplete and someone told me that if I send my 1year Unilag diploma(Economics) statement of result and transcript that I would earn points for 2 or more certificates.

Guys, pls advise me before I get too excited. Thanks
No it will not earn you "Two or more certificates". This was discussed somewhere earlier on the previous thread.

Aloha . From what you have listed you can only use your NYSC. This is bcus you dont have up to one year with same employer in ur other jobs. According to cic's requirement, ur job role must b with the same employer under same noc for at least a year. You cannot claim points by combining NOCs. Only CEC applicants can. I confirmed from cic
I don't think that's correct.

Evalute all, if you can, or just your OND & HND so you can earn more points with 'Two or more certificates'.

Hello cochtrane, you are doing a nice job. Please, what is the best way to move POF, which is in naira to canada, considering the difficulty in getting dollars in Nigeria at official rate? I will appreciate your feedback.
You'll find the best answers, if you ask your question here on this thread. I'd guess it's a combination of different methods. But I doubt you can have all your money exchanged to dollars at the official rate, if you don't have dollars already.

Thanks cochtrane.

Yes, I will use the NYSC.

Please pardon me, I have one more inquiry. Just to confirm this scenario, if I have have more than 3 years work experience in only one NOC where:

1. Company A: 1-year NYSC (NOC Code 4121)
2. Company B: 11 months (with NOC code 4121)
3. Company C: 7 months (with NOC code 4121)
4. Company D: 10 months (with NOC code 4121)

Since my work experience is in only one NOC (4121);

1. In my EE profile under work history, I will add all the four (4) jobs as stated above.
2. Because I intend to use NYSC only, will I need to submit reference letters for NYSC only (from Company A only)? Or I still need to submit references for ALL jobs as they are all in the same NOC?

Thank you ALL.
If you want to use NYSC only, you'll be able to claim just 1 year experience under your NOC. The rest will go into personal history which count for no points. If you want to claim the full 3 years, you'll need to enter the four jobs under work history and make sure to get a work experience letter for the four jobs. This means you'll be uploading four letters. You need to also make sure the work experience letters clearly spell out the functions related to the NOC you are claiming.

To be honest, the reason I never took this serious was because I wasn't sure I wanted to leave the certainty I have in Nigeria to the uncertainty of starting a new life abroad. I do have a great career here and I am still wondering how I am leaving all that. I am very aware that life in Canada (like every where else) is not a bed of roses and one really needs to think critically about the future and all.

Getting to Canada is one thing, thriving there is another.

I wish all of us here the best in this quest for a "better" life.
Welcome to the club! You gotta make your decision and live with it. If you plan well, you should have no problems.

Hello everyone,

Newbie here. Thanks in advance for all your help.
I am just about to begin this entire process. I intend to use my NYSC alone as my job experience. I did my NYSC at the Lagos State Ministry of Environment. I know it may be hard to get a reference letter from them so I just wanted to find out if anyone has done something similar (did NYSC at a ministry), and if they were able to get a reference letter in the required format.

Any help will be immensely appreciated.

Thank you!
Yes, you can use your NYSC alone as job experience. A lot of people here have done that, e.g. GlitteringStar. About getting the reference letter from the Lagos MOE, I have zero knowledge.

Thanks a lot. Will it cost extra charge if I evaluate two certificates from the same school at same time?
No, it won't cost extra charges with WES. But of course it'll cost extra charges with getting transcripts and mailing same. It may also cost extra time with having to wait for school to send transcript (AND time==money, if [you care]).

B.Sc. FUNAAB
M.Sc. OAU
PhD. OAU
Evaluate just your PhD. That's all you need to do for now.

If you feel like, you could also evaluate your other certificates, as it could get to a point in the future (perhaps after landing) where you may need them.

please my people i have little concern based on a question someone asked earlier and was overlooked. i previously worked in a law firm that is not online (no website) and my pay was on cash while i was with the firm. Will this be an issue please.
Two concerns here: coy has no website and pay was in cash.
First concern is really no problem, as long as they can provide you the work reference letter you need which meets all the requirements. There have been a handful of similar cases here.
Second concern is also no problem. Paystubs are not compulsory, though they help with your application. Some here have not submitted paystubs and suffered no consequence for it.

Kindly ignore my ramblings and help me. I am so confused right now. Thank you.

Thank you everyone.
As far as I can see, what's causing this "potential concern" seems to be the nature of legal documentation you presented as part of your adoption papers. I also don't understand why there should be some sort of joint guardianship which grants parent rights to you & your husband on the one hand and to the child's mother on the other. It seems way too complicated. Don't forget that the VO must have seen numerous adoption papers from Nigeria and if yours give reasons for worry, he'll definitely highlight it as a "potential concern". As it stands, it's still just "potential" and no more. Chances are nothing will come out of it after extensive review, or you may get ADR to supply more docs. Of course, raising a CSE is a way to get ahead here. But I feel if you resubmit the same paperwork that poses the concern, it may not change anything.

Read through this link and search for "Adoption Certificate" there. Perhaps you've come across it. Once you don't provide the same adoption certs the VO has always seen, things can change. This applies not just for adoption certs, but for several other docs (Police cert, for example). It may be tough to argue that the alternative adoption path you followed is as legal as what obtains, but if you do successfully I'm sure you'll be fine. Whatever the case, I'd expect them to get back to you first regarding this before making their decision.

Thanks cochtrane. Much appreciated.

Hi All, GlitteringStar, bbaby84, Obi1conte, NewMum0615, Elfmannisback, happytbaby, Bsbabe, vickyehi.

Thanks for all the info you have given me. After much consideration, I finally concluded that to be on the safe side, i should:

- Decline the ITA.
- Make my NYSC as my primary NOC in my EE profile.
- Re-enter the pool.

My questions however are;

1. During NYSC, my job was from March 2012 - February 2013. Orientation was March 2012 and POP was February 2013. Does this still count as 1 year?
2. If yes to the above, it means i only need reference letter for my NYSC work experience since it’s my primary NOC, yes?

Thanks all, for your prompt and kind responses as always. Cheers!
That's a weird one. You didn't have to go that route if you are able to get your work reference letters affirming the NOCs. I just get the feeling that people are being too careful these days and thereby let good opportunities pass them by. This looks like one of such cases.

If you have to do this anyways, use your nysc and some others to help you get 3 years and thus maximum points.

Hi Everyone,

I just got ITA yesterday and I have started filling my application. Please I need help on the Work/Personal History section.

The Work Experience in my EE profile was as follows:

1. Company A: 10 months (with NOC code 4121)
2. Company B: 11 months (with NOC code 4121)
3. Company C: 7 months (with NOC code 4121)
4. Company D: 1-year NYSC (with NOC code 3131)

I intend to claim points for Companies A, B and C ONLY.

So please my questions are:

1). Since I am not claiming points for Company D (NOC 3131), should I delete Company D from Work History and place it under Personal History? Will deleting Company D affect my application?

2). For Company B, her job title was Health Care Assistant where her actual job responsibilities are under NOC 4121. But in the NOC list, Health Care Assistant is under NOC 3413. Please I need some assistance with this too.

Many thanks.
You should be able to combine Coys A, B & C as long as you can get a work reference letter from all indicating the same NOC. You need to make sure of this.

Yes, a wrong TRF will earn you ITA. It's defending that CRS score with which you got ITA that will be a problem. Yes, post-ITA you can correct the TRF number, I'm pretty sure. But you wanna be sure you actually have the TRF number before ITA date, cos they can easily check the timeline.
