Subsidies CAUSE corruption and high prices. Anyone working or around academia and labs that get USA government funding knows this. There's complaints on this thread about CORRUPTION, government research funding is chock full of it.

Do I have to spell out the ways? The truth is that socialist and liberal idealogues have long seized on moral concerns and used it to EXPLOIT the government and subsidies created to fix problems they complain about. That's how Democrats have become the party of the CREDENTIALED class who collect government money by QUALIFICATIONS. Yep, all the PhD's vote Democrat while all the blue collar workers vote Republican.

Anyway I understand all these things. It's like the weather, hard to get upset because it's raining. Hopefully the clouds that have broken will lead to sustained sunshine. The USA can't go on like this, it just can't. Every reasonable person knows it. Thank goodness Trump won, hopefully he will set the country in a better direction.

I could very well pick apart this your post and find areas that lean towards rudeness but that’s not why I’m here. So let’s move on.

I think if you’re against subsidies, it should be against subsidies for all. Not just no subsidies for individuals but billions for corporations. That’s what republicans are good for. Giving corporations welfare from the public coffers and starving their citizens while telling them the wealth will trickle down.

Decades of trickle down economics has shown it’s not working. Corporations just get greedier because their greed is rewarded with more tax payer funds. So if anyone is doing the thing they’re complaining about, it’s republicans.

It’s not entitlement to expect that the medications your tax dollars paid for the research and manufacture of should be affordable to you.

I would quote you but you might get upset about that.

Also not saying those companies are not entitled to compensation. They are. But to the extent that the people whose taxes are being used to fund the research and development can’t afford it? SMH

Your own politicians, who likely have shares in those companies and who also receive lobby money from them are the ones ripping you off of your tax money and not giving you the healthcare you deserve!

The real gist being that these medications can be affordable to both Americans and other people in other countries and the manufacturers can still walk away with large profits. But they don’t wanna hear that.

Standing on ten toes defending greedy people who use public funds to manufacture drugs and then turn around to charge 500x the cost of manufacturing because they have to recoup “their money”. For generations on end.

Edit: I googled it for you. It’s specifically blue monster fan shrimp. They supposedly make great aquarium pets. Apparently all shrimps are edible. So I don’t think you’ll be harmed by eating this one.

Breastfeeding is painful.

I wouldn’t share my pain if I were her but I understand she’s sharing it so other women know what they’re up against. A lot of women go in uninformed because they’re told their bodies were made for this so they didn’t anticipate any problems.

But it is a painful experience even when everything is going well.

Chocolate cookies for our volunteers.

Recipe

Caramel Brownie Cookie:

Ghirardelli Ultimate chocolate brownie mix (19 oz)
¼ cup caramel syrup
¼ cup all purpose flour
¼ oil
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 ½ tsp vanilla
½ cup mini M&Ms

Method:
For the Brownie Cookie:
To a medium mixing bowl add in the dry brownie mix and 1/4 c flour. Mix.
Create a well in the center and add in the caramel syrup, oil, vanilla, and eggs.
Using a hand mixer or silicone spatula, mis together till completely combined. Scoop out 1.5 oz cookie dough balls and set on a cookie sheet. Top with mini M&Ms
Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
Let cool and enjoy

Seems as if he's been doing it for a while at least based on what he said.

One account in the food section does a similar thing. They’ll post a paragraph that seems innocent/interesting. If you’re not careful, you won’t notice an imbedded one-word link in the paragraph. One time I was swiping and my browser alerted me that I was about to open a link. Obviously I backed away so I can’t say if it was a shady link but why the attempt to disguise it?

His post that made me think he wasn’t living in the USA was when he referred to people who were born and raised “there”.

Language matters. You don’t refer to a place you’re physically in as ‘there’ instead of ‘here’.

I actually didn’t care at the time but it was just so subtle it registered in my mind as “oh another non American resident speaking as if they are”.

I’m surprised to see him change tune. Maybe he moved after July 02? Although he’s been claiming to live in the US before July. Oh well

It got more suspicious, when he wouldn't say exactly where he was or post any details of the US.
And for someone who spends his life in the American tread it was weird he wouldn't discuss the US.
I doubted the story, but ey.

Then a few months later he got caught trying to hack Nairalanders ip addresses, my work one specifically.
He was posting links with an embedded ip tracker.
So, let's say I did my research.
Come to find out the pics he were posting were from Surrey Canada.
Once I knew that I geolocated them.
Even the pic he claimed was his first night in the US. If you look closely enough, there is a Surrey, Canada bus stop in the pic.

And then he started posting more stuff to try to back up his claim. But everything he posted made him more the Liar.
He posted the album of pics he said he took on his first day in the US. All the pics in it were from Canada.
He posted chats talking to women, where he would be the one to say he was in the US. Even in one of those chats he claimed he left Nigeria for the US in 2021 not 2023 like he claimed in this thread.
And so on and on.
He's a bad liar.

Another person would have died of embarrassment or just disappeared.
I realized scammers don't, they just push on.

I have no problem with paying taxes. As long as my standard of living improves. A part of my liberalism is the belief that government has a lot of responsibility and role to play in governance so I wouldn't mind paying taxes as long as the taxes are being used to work for the people and corporations pay higher taxes too, all for the public good.

If I were to live in the USA. I would most definitely live in Massachusetts or Maryland. Preferably Massachusetts. Both Blue states. New England is where I would find a home and that's why Massachusetts is perfect for me. I don't mind taxes at all. I just need money. Lol.

There’s a lot of misinformation that they spread.
Not only does Washington not charge personal income taxes for individuals, they also don’t charge corporate taxes. You know the same corporations they claim blue states hate. In exchange the corporations have to pay minimum wage of above $16/hr.

Meanwhile Texas is still stuck at $7.25/hr.

Obviously the states gets its money through other means, levies and fees but the summary is that it’s not as bad as you’ve heard.

Washington only pays federal and point of sales taxes. The same rate as everyone on the federal level. 6% sales taxes. We don’t have state income tax.

Even Texas (red state) pays higher property taxes than Washington state.

When they tell you certain blue state programs can’t be replicated because it’ll cause increase in taxes, it’s a lie.
