Well done! descarado: Ahnie, come and see. I'm over the moon right now.
This is the second one I'm doing. All 25kg. Will do 10kg of red millet too. I love my pap with red millet.
For some of us that hate powdered pap( I'm actually skeptical of drinking pap I didn't know its origin hence I love making mine) staying in cold regions As long as you have freezer, summer is the best time to soak corn. Keep under the sun and keep on changing water. If its naija, 3 days is OK to grind but these cold regions take more time for the corn to soften a bit. I did 3 days and it spoiled my blender b4 somebody told me of this secret. Some said to add lukewarm or boiled water. I blended 8 days after soaking. Used 2 blenders. One for coarse blending while the other for fine blending. Powerful blender for fine blending. Give the blender time to cool down intermittently. Freeze and enjoy. |

What kind of brain tumor did he have? How’s his health now? Gasa84: Am sorry to bother you guys but I need your advice. I am from Imo state and I met my man (from Enugu state) in 2013 after my NYSC. He was not quite learned but he is hard working so I suggested he rent a house and buy a land since he can afford it, he did.
But when I started spending weekends in his house I found out that he drinks a lot, beats and insults me, telling me he can never marry someone like me, but he also takes care of me as I was unemployed then, I felt it was ignorant and kept enduring and confide in his elder brother's wife about my dilemma....
To cut long story short, I got a job in 2015 and he got very sick in 2016 so I had to let go of my job to tend to him for 2 months till he traveled for proper treatment.
After 8 months he came back told his brother that he wants to marry me but his brother said no to the extent that the brother pushed me out of his house when I came to visit him as usual...
He got sick again and was diagnosed with brain tumor , I stayed with him in the hospital till he traveled for surgery... While I was with him no one cared to come stay in the hospital as they knew I was there... I stayed in his house more than mine. After a successful surgery, his father died..
I followed him to his village cos I thought it was the right thing to do but his brothers, sisters, mother and uncles told him to send me away, I left there feeling miserable and insulted...
But he kept telling me that he doesn't want to lose me that we will keep on praying that one-day they will accept me so we can then marry.
I know he loves me... Probably because I was there with him when he was sick.... But am no more that young and I don't know what will happen later... Am afraid and frustrated....
I don't know what to do please help me out. I can explain more if u ask I am just confused and depressed. What do I do, how do I cope? |

Couldn’t have said it better. And Barbie might be too complicated for them BRATISLAVA: The usual obsession with women, their bodies, their productivity, their finances, their ages, their choices, just about everything about women. Chapters and chapters about it. Some with terrible punctuation, some with better punctuation, yet an underlying social class is the common denominator behind such posters. All giving advice as concerned men or others are barely concealed "wise" misogynists.
An obsession made by saintly (mostly underage) boils.
You would think it changes as they get older. But it doesn't. Not until they get married, realize they aren't any prize, and get some responsibility that makes them less obsessed. |

You know real life is the antithesis of NL. The lies they spew here HaneefahRN: I just tire for the mumu reasoning. Some women are even the ones paying rents for houses shared with their community p*enis horsebands, take up a good bulk of household expenses or even contributed to building the so-called husband's house. But somehow all the NL men are the ones feeding, housing and clothing women.
I wish cheats would marry themselves. Would be perfect. Community husbands for women who will give them kids from other men. |

Casually mentioning me like I don’t have beef with you well let’s pretend like it’s nonexistent today. I agree . I clearly remember when dollar was 150 and then towards the end of GEJs tenure it rose a bit (I forget the final number) and they wanted his head on a spike. Now we are just going to act like dollar being 850 is somehow not too terrible because the people we want in power are the ones in power: okay. Anyway I’m not pro japa by all means necessary. I get easily misunderstood so I don’t want anyone to think that’s what I’m saying here.. Treadway: well said bro.
Lagos where virtually all the major firms have been headquartered before dem born Tinubu papa na him dem say he build. Megacity wey no even get tap water. The thing wey pain me pass is how we see the truth and fail to say it. Instead bros Sukkot say we should be appreciative. Appreciate a man whose only source of immense wealth is holding and milking a state since 1999, sotey his entire family get straws wey dem dey use suck am, openly o, not even hidden. We should be grateful for rogues that have taken us backward 100 years and make us have to toil and improvise and struggle needlessly sotey everyone say make we 'japa', and we wey no wan japa are perceived as people with no future ambition. All this talk of dollar, as of 2014 I had visited 3 countries self-sponsored, while my company then sponsored another 3 as a gift for meeting sales targets. I took my wife (then girlfriend) to Dubai self-sponsored in 2015, I never even marry am oooo. I bought a watch for fun for 1k dollars, I was buying items on Amazon in thousands of dollars sometimes twice a year (mostly for resale)
Which among all those things can I conveniently do now?? Even the company I left no fit do am, much less me an individual.
Wetin my peers back then get? Funny thing is, I wasn't really earning big money o....But now everybody is pressing calculator and shikini 20dols na 18k. Sotey people are advised to even be homeless in the anglo-west than be a boss in Nigeria. My friends overseas then didn't have what I had, no be mouth. Dem no dey press calculator for Jona time of 150 to a dollar. Except those with good jobs (of which I didn't know any) all of them blokes only had fine pictures to offer, ba kudi!!
But yea I should be appreciative that these bastards have made the country a desolate place in just 8 years, and are clearly on track to make the next 4-8years the worst ever. E Kare!. Cococandy and Sukkot go dey pity and help Nigerians. I no dey appreciative kan kan o. Na will power and brain I dey use eke out my living, no be say Naija support me or give me any thing, as dem take their subsidies I no even care, the only painful thing is it will certainly all still be stolen as it has always been and we all will witness it, and surely some will still defend it like they are defending Lagos as the city Tinubu supposedly built, like mile2 - IBA road revamp that has taken 18yrs now. Make una dey clap dey go o. We go see where the country go end laipe yi. The beautiful thing about time is that it passes very very quickly.
Lastly, I can only imagine what APC supporters would have said/done had PO made his personal company collect 20% of all revenue generated in his state from when he was governor till date, made his daughter the head of markets to collect revenue there too from then till this day, made one of his boys the head of garages to collect there too from then till this day, and planted his wife in the senate since 1999 amongst others...e for loud gan. Nigerians will utterly deserve whatever APC does to this country, as dem see even 100k votes, e mean say many people still need to learn a thing or two. |

We all inevitably have friends even on this board with opposing political views. Best both of us can do in those cases is ignore /unlook unless it is way too extreme. Especially in Nigerian politics where the same politicians will still meet and laugh later. |

I can’t blame her because that’s the party where she could find support and people to take her seriously being so young. But we just don’t discuss politics to avoid heavy feelings and harsh words. I’ve learned some things are best left alone because people really get deep in their feelings when beliefs and politics are involved. But man it was something when the votes were being counted. Ha |

Nigerian girls condition themselves to be fully dependant on their men right from their dating days up until they get married.

That is still nairaland fairytale. Total hogwash But even if it were true, when you’re expected to be the sole provider of a home in which you do nothing else (because every other task is beneath you), I don’t see what the issue is. You made your beds with your championing of strict gender roles. Lay in it . Nazgul: You failed to get the point I was trying to make. Many of them go into marriage with the mind set of "My money is my money and your money is our money". So many girls in reality, social media and even here on Nairaland use that phrase, and even activate it in their marriages thus making them fully dependant on their husbands.
This is why a woman would pay her own child's school fees or do anything in the house and collect the money back from her husband. It happens and it's still happening.
What I don't understand about you ladies is that once a male quote your own words to you, like I just did, you'll flare up and activate defensive mode. But whenever your fellow girls use them, you'll defend them and wouldn't condemn them.
Talk about double standards. |

And As general a rule, anyone making a sweeping statement about anything in America specifically; does not know what the heck they are talking about. It’ll be that they are being taught immorality aka biology and the existence of people who are different from them. But the guy actually made the right move for himself. So instead of whining about it, he withdrew his kids. That’s what Mormons and the Amish do. They withdraw from society and live/interact in places where they don’t have to encounter differences in beliefs. That way no one can “force” themselves on them. |
