These are problems for people that do his and hers in marriage. If it was theirs from the beginning, there would have been no issues.

I have a friend currently serving in a Federal Ministry in Abuja.

She goes whenever she likes. They do nothing in her department. Some days, they share money sef.

She can video call me for 3 hours at work. That's how jobless they are there.

I can tolerate a case for jobs outside the civil service. Most of them are paid to do nothing
Well those ministries are different because I don’t even know what their job description is. What are they ministering?

But something like government healthcare is a different beast. There must be sick people to care for. They work all the time like regular civil servants and get owed too . But they have to go or they get fired and they can’t play around at work or people will die.

I saw all that and I developed a deep dislike for the government and how they treated their employees. That’s why I don’t feel any type of way when some employees take advantage of the system. As long as no one is being put in harm’s way.

A system that works!!!

When they are owing for months. What do the civil servants do within that period? They come to work? embarassed
Exactly. They come to work because they know if they do not come, they’ll be fired. But that’s also why some of them take up side hustles in the work place.
I don’t doubt izzou when he said some of them don’t do anything but I totally understand.

Most times, four people are doing one person's job.

If the civil service is restructured, many of them would be jobless

You need to visit some ministries and see how they are idling away doing nothing
as the daughter of a civil servant, I biasedly disagree lipsrsealed

Reading this, I agree. It gives you motivation for the next week sef. cheesy
one time I started a new job and my IT clearance didn’t work properly so I couldn’t clock in my hours electronically. Per protocol, I used a paper time sheet to log my time pending my IT clearance and somehow someone in the payroll missed my time sheet so I didn’t get paid for two weeks.
OMG.

The director called to apologize. The union president called to apologize. The CNO called to apologize. Emails and emails to follow up to make sure they didn’t miss it during the next pay period.
Tell me why I won’t be motivated to go to work?

Our employers need to really adopt the practice of making sure they take the employees time seriously. This hourly pay thing might be the solution if enough people get on board.

Obviously state government won’t get on board because they are the professionals at owing civil servants for 6 months. Useless governors

Hourly payment would definitely favour the FG.

I would advise the incoming president to adopt this quickly

Some civil servants get paid to peel the egusi they would use to cook their soup in the evening, just because they peeled it in the office
I don’t blame them.

They get paid poorly and are expected to spend 5 days a week at work.
Leave early come back late.
add traffic on top of that.
And just like that, a miserly job ends up taking your whole life and youth.

If I’m a Nigerian civil servant, I’ll bring my laundry to work sef. Dem never see anything.

Great, then I like it.

I once worked at an org where salaries were paid twice a month to curb the excessive begging and incessant complaints of some staff about being broke.

For example if you earned 120k, you would get 40% of that by the 15th and 60% at month end, on the 28th or so. I thought it was cool because it kept me liquid and you know middle of the month na when salary earners dey broke pass.

Yet, we still had people burning through cash and complaining before the month ends.
I’ve done a contract job before where I was paid weekly. The sweetness no be here. When I transitioned back to biweekly pay, it felt like I was waiting forever. Omo that monthly pay can’t work for me again.

And it’s not a matter of needing the money right away. It’s more because you feel like you’re being rewarded as soon as you’re putting in the effort. Like cash for hand back for ground levels grin
You do finish pay sharp sharp no long stories or we will tear your trousers and fight you at the junction levels grin

It sounds like one of those posh houses I see on real house wives of LA, Jersey etc. You will retire in the house and join the reality show too, abi? Enjoy the dream, may it come true, you can make it come true .
No reality shows.
But definitely want one of those vineyard houses. They are often more laidback than the typical housewives’ home. Very homely feel but quite luxurious.

@bold, true. Fingers crossed

Stop capping thrash in the name of any pro-nonsense with a wannabe woke vibe. As much as the global economy is biting some people so hard, it doesn't negate the possibility of his wife being the cause of his stagnation, witting or unwittingly, citing his point of prayer incidence not necessarily about the prediction from his sorcerer, so he has not erred asking questions and looking for solutions.

@OP, if your said sorcerer truly has any atom of genuineness and ability in him, tell him to help you out from the problem without needing to victimize your wife and also on credit or some relatively so with a promise to reward him in multitude when you begin progressing.

You are sounding harsh ma, i will not leave my wife for anything, i did not also believe what the guy said untill my wife started the weird behaviour of not allowing me to pray or meditate.

Moreover, i'm here to get good ideas on how to handle the situation, pls don't think that i'm not appreciative of my wife. i love her till this moment
Of course I’m harsh. It’s intentional.

I’m flabbergasted at how easy it is for any con man out there to turn you folks on your family members with the snap of a finger. It’s never any meaningful advice or counseling on how to navigate difficult situations, improve your business acumen or employability. They never tell you how to manage your finances seeing as the whole world is having a financial crisis now.

They know that’s not what you want to hear. Anything that will require effort, re-strategizing and taking accountability will probably go in one ear and out the other. But they know once they tell you it’s your wife or gf or mom, they have your attention and you keep coming back to hear more of what subconsciously confirms your biases. Very clever business tactic for them but detrimental to you and they don’t care.

If you’re really here for advice, you’ve received it already. Pray in a different room. There’s nothing weird about your wife’s actions. Stop thinking any human on earth has the ability to spiritually hinder you. The mind is powerful and what you feed it reflects in your daily life.

To some extent yes.

I was an average guy doing fairly good untill i met her. but as i said earlier, i was not a nice guy at all. i even thought initially that karma is serving me breakfast untill this issue came.
You didn’t ask yourself after everything you did why she’s the one that’s spiritually negative?
Anyone can bank on y’all’s innate misogyny to sell you xtupid ideas that will further wreck your lives.
If your mothers-in-law are not witches, it’s your wives or sisters or girlfriends. It’s never you or the men in your lives.

You need to go marry that dude that you trusted and gave an avenue to meddle in your marriage to spew nonsense against your wife who’s been supportive of your un-achieving behind.

I think she needs to see this and stop wasting her best years on you. Because if you really did value her, you won’t be here unsure of what to do. Waiting for strangers to help you make a decision

This guytold me that my wife is ogbanje, that i should send her away if i want to have peace, and that my former girl has a spirit husband who is also on my case. so after sending my wife away, i should do spiritual cleasing to be whole again.

But my wife is my pillar in this trying times, who will even cook and care for my children if i sent her away? worst is, this girl use to worship me as if i'm a god even in this condition so i see no reason to carry out that instruction untill she did something strange.
Leave your wife and marry the nairalander guy telling you all that nonsense. Your problem will be solved.

Anyone with a brain ever wonder why it’s only the women that usually have spiritual husbands and are ogbanje?
