Acidosis: Very true. I think the main issue is the fact that OP married the same guy that made her create this sort of thread. People come here everyday to ask this question "didn't you see the signs before marriage?"
So I feel like someone ignored the signs and the whole essence of the thread (and the new update) is confusing. But well... I wish her the best. Change is constant and happiness is key. Oh did she? I didn’t see that part. Happy 7 years anniversary OP. Both of you must be doing something right if you’re coming back to make happy updates. Congratulations |

Acidosis: True but mods only modify front-page threads. I don't think this made the front page at any time (based on the number of views). Well even if that’s the case here, the post body itself conveys the OPs thoughts better than the one line heading. I don’t see how that one sentence should be enough to deter anyone who was interested in getting married anyway. I mean even for those who had doubts about marriage, I still don’t see how that one sentence would be the deciding factor for them. I think we would be over reaching to say OP ruined the idea of marriage for anyone. |

Acidosis: The topic MODs do modify the topics/headlines to make it more click baity and attractive for argument. Most threads titles aren’t the original words or phrases the posters use. The MODs usually paraphrase it to suit where they want the conversation to go. I thought you guys knew this |

glimpse33: You're wicked Sha.
Do you know how many innocent girls you misled in 2012? explain how she misled them? For all the married women out there, I would appreciate your viewpoint about Nigerian marriages. Is it like a bondage for women. Once a woman gets married she's expected to change her entire self to please the man.
I believe in being submissive o, but some men can take it to the extreme. My mum and sisters keep telling me there's nothing in marriage and we single girls shouldn't be desperate to rush in. And I saw for a fact that my dad wasn't the best of husbands.
I recently left a relationship where the guy was overbearing. He wanted things done his way ALL THE TIME. I had to think of ways to make him happy always and each time he brought up the subject of marriage I froze. I couldn't imagine spending the rest of my life with him. |

That's all they need to do, or am I wrong? That visa.gov website? Usually my sis fulls everything out for the folks and then sends it to me to close out so there is no issue of the application being signed from a US ip. That’s what I thought too. Oh and I didn’t even think of the US IP issue. Hmm |

The US citizen has an option of submitting directly without the applicant having access to the Information. As per what you wrote, it is really strange. yea I’ve never heard of that too. I think someone is just giving them misleading information |

For people visiting the USA from Nigeria on a tourist visa, have you recently been asked to provide the USA passport of your relative in America whom you intend to stay with?
Additionally, have you been asked to provide their tax transcripts from 2-3 years ago to prove that they can afford to host you as a tourist visiting the country?
I’ve gotten a few people to visit me in the past on tourist visas and it has never come up. Is this a new thing? Anyone who recently went for an interview, were you asked to provide this information? Matter of fact if anyone can answer with specific details of information they were asked to provide as a very young person going on tourism to the USA, that would be incredibly helpful. Thank you! |

Family › Re: Why Shouldn't It Be Okay, That Some Women Don't Want Kids by cococandy(f): 7:08am On Aug 14, 2022 |
Obviously that wife didn’t do okay by hiding that fact from her husband. But just like you OP, I find it dumbfounding that there are people still existing today who haven’t realize that not everyone wants or should have kids. Based on the comments on that thread, there seemed to be quite a lot of comments of people not just focusing on the poster’s wife but on ladies in general who don’t want kids like it’s something terrible.
For the deliberately obtuse ones I think she was wrong for not letting him know before marriage that she doesn’t want kids.
Just repeating myself because some doofus is still going to quote me to insinuate that I support hiding such preferences from one’s potential spouse |
Family › Re: I Just Need A Family by cococandy(f): 6:56am On Aug 14, 2022 |
I don’t support OP’s wife in her decision to not be straightforward about her preferences before they got married. She would have saved him a ton of headache now.
But that fact that people find it impossible to believe that someone can want marriage without children is quite astonishing. Are y’all this dense? |

Very sorry for that. Hope you are not the one that seduced the said uncle? Elnathan454: He didn't rape you,it was a consensual agreement between you and your uncle. Secondly: This thing just weak me.

Houston is on the other side of the country from me. But one day when I feel like experimenting with this, I’ll check online . Thanks descarado: Haaaaha OK let's start here. Do you have bambara flour? If no, can you buy? Some mix it with wheat flour. Yep. When I wanted to try it, I told them to add it to what they will send to me from home. I wanted to taste the raw one so I can know the diff if I want to buy here. Got this one more than a yr now. 3 small milk tin can swell very well. Check youtube. You can buy from African shop or preferably add to those things you will get from home. Or if you live close to Houston, one day go there and get these stuffs. Heard its like what peckham is to naija people in uk. |

The one you described sounds delicious. I found those commercial ones to be too hard and often not quite tasty unless eaten with something else. I didn’t quite get the hype. Maybe if I tried your way, I might be convinced descarado: Seems like you think making okpa is only done the Enugu state way. Anambra make okpa with palm concentrate, loads of crayfish, onions and pepper with uzizia seed. Tastes much better than okpa 9th mile and is softer to touch when cold. I grew up with that. Schooled in Enugu and ate okpa Enugu but it doesn't beat this one I just described. The only diff is it's more expensive to prepare and tedious too hence mass production is okpa Enugu. I noticed here that when one is used to one way of preparing something, he or she think its the only and best way to make such thing. Taste cuisines from other places before you pull culinary experience that's way older than your ancestors down. Even old ones can be modified. Okpa Enugu is now made with veggies. Was it there before? |

GloriousGbola: Nigerian Christians are EXTREMELY hypocritical about this. In my primary school, a government primary school, they said Christian prayers every morning. No Muslim prayers. Same played out in dining hall in secondary schools.
That is why they are so het up about hijab - because they have somehow come to expect other religions to be invisible in the public space.
If this man should meet anyone from the satanic temple he will blow a gasket. I honestly don’t get it. Even the Bible said do unto others as you’d have them do unto you. So it’s anti-Christ to force Christianity on anyone. |
Education › Re: DISCIPLE: Williams Uchemba Raises Alarm Over A Disturbing Trend In Schools by cococandy(f): 9:51am On Aug 10, 2022 |
Church is there for you to teach your kids the Bible. The same way you don’t want anyone forcing Muslims values on your kid as a Christian, is the same others don’t want you forcing Christianity on their kids. There are many religions in America and they can stay out of school. Do that in your place of worship. It’s not complicated |
