Quota's for guaranteed places are counter productive. They just breed laziness. If all players are deemed to be eligible why place a quota of where they come from? Should we have a quota for the under represented North?

Merit over quota is the only assured way of eliminating complacency and ensuring you are represented by the absolute best you can put forward.

There's already a quota for northerners that's why Musa and some northern players must make the team.

Representation should be by the HOMEGROWN players Nigeria has to offer and HOMEGROWN players who merit it.

When it comes to the national team, representation should be by the best. Not status or where you were born. I have insisted that age grade tourneys should serve as development platforms due to the gulf in class with respect to opportunities and education.

However, the main National team is to win honours and bring pride to the country. You can not sacrifice results at that stage to give people opportunity.

What you need at that stage is a fair format to select the best. That is given a fair chance for the best to qualify. That is why I still recommend a camping and screening exercise at certain intervals, likely every two years.

At the end, we should get that we have no right to restrict their participation.

It is their right. It is their country and home. Whether born in Nigeria or not. Give all fair opportunities by selecting only the best.

Representation should be by the best HOMEGROWN players Nigeria has to offer and not the best Nigerians born outside Nigeria.

I have said a quota system of 70% - 80% homegrown players and 20% - 30% foreign born... the only team I would 30% - 40% foreign born is the Super Falcons but again homegrown football women need it more than the foreign borns because most european leagues use their women leagues to provide jobs for their own women..

Speaking your local dialect shouldn't stop you from been smart to know at least the official language spoken in your country because thats the language mainly used in global stage

I don't know if you have over 100 domains but by the time you have over 100 domain names every domain name that is approved can make you an instant millionaire if you own it because you can set the price up to $3,699 or more..

I don't know if your name c:ardi:otherap:ist can go higher or if SH has adjusted its pricing ( normally $1999 - $2999 or $2799 ) for people who have less than 100 names because when I had less than 70 names the highest name I had could reach $3599 but now that I have more than 100 that same name can reach $4499... the highest domain name I have now can reach $5299 and its SH owned ....

This is the best team we can field at this time. We had over 65 players from across Europe and America in camp before it was trimmed down to 15. We haven't had a basketball league running in Nigeria for almost 2 years now.

My point, which you are missing because like most Nigerians you people fight over which tribe gets what....is that we don't have a good basketball structure like the countries we competed against in the olympics.

If we had a good structure, we would have been able to produce consentient results, and every tribe would have been able to produce teams of good players that would have done us proud whatever the selection, man know man or man no know man.

As per tribe issue, this team lost because the majority of players playing full games were I:gbos... If the coach had mixed them they will have won at least one game... A lot of I:gbos have a natural behavior to become over confident and complacent which is one of the reasons they're always losing towards the 4th quarter instead of seeing the game off.

Also tribes have to be concerned about who gets what because the national team can boost the careers of the players in it..

The thing is, we need a side that can produce consistently good results...not one off results against the US, consistent results...and you do that by building up a critical mass of homebased basketball talent, good structures from youth to adult, enough expertise in the game in coaches and trainers and reserchers.

Doing swimming in River and running 5000 meters as a hobby is different from real competitions.

Either the government ( both FG and state ) or private sector invests in infrastructure for this other sports and holds age grade competitions/leagues at least twice a year that will last for at least 4 weeks then don't expect such talents to be harnessed because a lot of Nigerian athletes sponsor themselves.
