lovewins: I don't fancy this bunch of players quite frankly, but if I were to pick from the list, I totally agree with the above. How we build from here is what matters most.
I don't think Folorunsho should be on the list @codemaniacs. She didn't have a great tournament in my opinion. Again, don't forget the primary basis for comparison isn't the flamingoes themselves, but other teams who they are very likely to play against in the u20. She made good defensive contributions. Her problems are she's nervous and shows fear which is also due to the coaches.. the team lacked a proven finisher just like the U20 Falconets and no coaching on chance creations that's why they just blast the ball forward and no coaching on staying to a pattern of play.. |

AkinDS: Why must everything be about blaming someone? For goodness sake, these girls are kids, yet you feel it is right to 'blame' them? That's not cool at all. Cut them some slack. They are devasted enough - no need to pile coal on them If there is anyone to blame its the coaching crew and the coach himself... the coaching crew were busy praying instead studying the Columbian goalkeeper strong side and informing the girls since the Flamingoes themselves didn't notice it... The coach and coaching crew were relying on prayers and luck instead of teaching and coaching the Flamingoes about looking for weaknesses the opposition team have.. |

AkinDS: Summary The girls gave it a shot but it wasn't enough to get to the finals. Kudos to them for getting this far and I know they must be gutted at not making it to the finals. They all hoped that accomplishment would benefit them financially and career wise, as most of them come from humble beginnings. Wish them all the very best going forward.
Picks of the Litter Based on their individual performances over the 5 competitive games, I would hazard a guess that the following might have a bright future beyond the U17 team.
1. Amina Bello - Her overall performance in each match was good and she has the skills set to become a Super Falcon. Good pace, movement and awareness on and off the ball. She is definitely one to keep an eye on.
2. Opeyemi Ajakaye - pacy striker who caused a lot of problems for many of the teams she played against. Unlucky not to find the net in this competition. Needs to work on her ball control (first touch) and 1v1 skills, but could also be groomed to becoming a winger.
3. Blessing Emmanuel - sleek, hard working midfielder, who exhibited a lot of field generalship, busting up plays and providing the needed support to the attack.
4.Shakira Oyinlola - quiet defender, who sometimes goes unnoticed but seems to always be in the right place at the right time. Did a good job on Caicedo who, by the way, if a full Colombian international and is being looked at as the next best thing out of Colombia. My only concern is her pace, which she will likely work on and get better. One to keep an eye on.
5. Faith Omilana - Similar, if not slightly better, performance with Nnadozie at the U17 in terms of not being able to catch the ball cleanly sometimes. However, her positioning in 1v1 situations is quite good for a 17 yr old. Several point blank saves against Caicedo will definitely bode well for her. Hopefully, she can work hard and position herself to compete for a spot in the SF, as she has all the key elements to become a really good SF goalie. Certainly, one for the future. Ajakaye should be moved to winger.. she didn't score and she had the best chance to score but she shot straight at the goalkeeper instead of placing it.. You didn't mention Folorunso even though her penalties are not good.. she defended well and recovered quickly from her mistakes.. Number 1 should be the goalkeeper Faith Omilana... |

Samueltemi337: Y'all hype these girls alot in this thread
I hope they sack Waldrum soon so y'all will realise that he is not the only problem Waldrum is taking the team to the WC.. and he is the only problem... his preference and favoritism towards Onumonu is what's killing the team and not subbing her off early or not changing her position to wing since she knows how to cross and not making early substitutions.. starting veteran players instead of younger players who are better... Its not hype... We seen them play and know what they bring.. |

Samueltemi337: What a joke
Is haaland the only star player in man city
the likes of de Bruyne, Foden, Silva and Cancelo aren't man city players abi The point is Guardiola does not play Players out of position to accommodate another player and will pick and play goalscorers and teach them how to be a possession team that passes the ball. |

Samueltemi337: Was it Waldrum that told Onumonu to miss a penalty at the WAFCON
or he also told both Ajibade and ayinde to commit silly fouls at the same WAFCON It's Waldrum that picks the team.. It's Waldrum and the coaching staff that didn't tell them to mark softly.. |

Samueltemi337: Even if Guardiola coach our girls with the way they are playing we will still have a slight chance of getting out of that group
So y'all should stop making it seem like once we have a good coach the world cup is ours already If Guardiola coaches them then Super Falcons will win the world cup.. Ajibade and Oshoala are the best strikers in the world. Look at Haaland in Man City then imagine having 2 Haalands in your team or having Lewandowski and Haaland in your team.. That's how strong the Super Falcons are... |

yinkeys: Lookman plays from the wings o He’s also a forward not a center forward/striker That means I’d add Moses Simon as a striker because I don’t understand why you’re including total wingers
It’s just like saying Mo Sallah is a striker/centre forward Wingers are also forward players.. Haaland is not a winger but he assisted Foden from the left wing. Moses Simon and Chukwueze don't drop deep to help the midfield and defense so I intentionally left them out and they are selfish players who hold onto the ball for long and that spoils counter attacks and don't assist. Okereke, Lookman, Tella, Ejuke, Amoo can replace them.. or they should be on the bench. |

yinkeys: No Ndidi & Iwobi in the middle of the park How’s anything supposed to work Aribo is more of a 8 than a CM if you ask me Aribo is a Supporting Striker or LWF... not a midfielder I also forgot about Ademola Lookman... I just added his name.. SE midfielders are Iwobi Onyedika Onyeka Ndidi Nwakali Tijani Bonke Alhassan Yussuf |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by codemaniacs: 1:10pm On Oct 25, 2022 |
yinkeys: Dennis & Kelechi are good It immensely depends on the midfielders too. Ndidi & Iwobi in the middle of the park would be great I forgot about Dennis and Nathan Tella. How they are playing for SE and how they are playing for their clubs are two different things... Dennis against Ghana wasn't dropping deep to help the defense and wasn't closing down players and wasn't running after through passes.. Dennis always wanted the ball at his feet.. So in my opinion, Dennis is bad for the SE. Ihenacho is also bad for the SE due to the fact that he also doesn't drop deep and should be used as a striker which means another striker will be dropped for him which I consider an abomination... or he will play midfield and since he doesn't drop deep is also an abomination.. SE strikers are: Osimhen Moffi Onuachu, Nathan Tella ( if he plays for Nigeria ) Lookman Awoniyi Victor Boniface Sadiq Dessers Okereke and at worst Emmanuel Dennis ( due to his pace and must not play as a winger ) |

yinkeys: When will Osimhen & Iheanacho pair up for the Super Eagles ?
I can’t wait
I don’t think they’ve been paired in any competition
We now have competition in the SE
The coach needs to solve our defensive and goalie issues That's a wrong pairing especially when Moffi, Awoniyi and Onuachu are there.. Osimhen and ihenacho pairing didn't work against Ghana. SE top forward players are Osimhen, Moffi, Onuachu, Awoniyi, Victor Boniface, Sadiq, Dessers and Okereke. Any other forward player should not be called up. |

komekn: Compare him to all the forward players Chelsea have bought , he is far off the mark.
They are players at the top of their Leagues , as top goal scorers in league and club.
VO is an excellent player with great potential but he has not attained top goal scorer or similar in a top league YET.
After this season if he doesn't become a top five goal scorer in Seria A, then his potential to be world class will be questioned and indeed his value. he his scoring goals and that's what is important not been top scorer... Vinicius Junior has never been top scorer but he scored the goal that won Real Madrid the UCL.. Osimhen should go to Bayern or PSG if any of this teams don't come for him then he should stay in Napoli where he is guaranteed to be playing in UEFA competitions. |

Danielnino00: Australia and Canada are formidable opponents o . Top class teams... Australia being host nation is another huge advantage... But I think Canada and Ireland are beatable... Realistically,we do stand a chance in that group.. I mean, a team that has one of the world best women goalkeeper, one of the world best women striker and a bunch of promising talents should definitely stand a chance from that group... Randy Waldrum will make Australia, Canada and Ireland look like prime Barcelona of 2010 - 2012... Super Falcons can win that group easily... but that's not the mentality Waldrum has.. |

Folorunsho wanted to block a shot by sliding and she ended up deflecting the ball into the net.. that's how U:S:A scored... Another shot also hit Edafe's leg then also head and almost ended up deflecting into the net... so good defending also requires luck |
