So what's causing it? Tinubu's body language? Demand and supply forces? Competition from new marketers? Intl price crash? |
Lol...these are key actors of the current electrical power structure now. Man-know-man won't allow him skip his club members and appoint competent people in the society. |
DeepSight:Your unjust bias towards him still remains and i understand how hard it is to undo such feeling through mere debate and conversation. He had no real control over the dollar to naira rate in reality. The pegging of exchange rate was a subsidy disguised with accounting and financial jargons. It is like blaming Kyari of NNPCL for subsidy removal instead of those who supervised a porous border and those he reports to. Emefiele's job was to ration scarce forex. He doesn't generate forex. NNPCL largely does. The USD spiking from N200 to whatever was a function of demand and supply of forex. As the main source of forex, govt was selling fewer barrels of crude at lower price and that impacted the availability of forex at that time limiting forex emefiele had access to. In order to meet diverse needs of importers of various goods which include boxers(underwear), milk, toothpick and toothbrush. Tell me if in his shoes, will you deny an agriculture firm forex to import machine part and continue massive food production or send the forex to a toothpick importer too lazy to process chewing stick into toothpick locally? Emefiele rightly disowned such importers and condemned them to black market for forex while the forex govt(NNPCL) supply dwindled. Supply and Demand are tsunamis of economics that influence prices and they are not determined by one man who foolishly tried to become an overnight politician. |
DeepSight:I already aired my thought on those. He messed up big time with that. But before then his thinking and actions were balanced and he was undoubtedly the Akinwunmi Adesina of Buhari's govt. It goes to show how partisanship can mess people up. Just look at some Nairalanders for example. They are no longer capable of the slightest productive thinking. They are just political party fan base and defenders. |
DeepSight:and according to you economy is a function of CBN I guess? Yet virtually everyone blamed him for a weak economy when the naira weakened and forex supply dwindled. How do you reconcile those? What is the function of finance minister or FEC. Blaming CBN head for weak production is like a commercial bank blaming the manager for customers experiencing financial hardship and very wrong. Oga don't be blinded by massive trend of hate for that man. Before he became partisan and picked a form for N100m, he was the shinning light of Buhari's admin. Every hope Buhari admin held was built around his output and expertise. Anchow borrower scheme was one of the most successful of its type in Africa. He was instrumental to Dangote refinery, though partial in that too. |
Parachoko:Is NNPCL a marketer? Yet they sell at 500+ |
Facade. |
How true is this? |
hmmm... God dey. |
Emefiele's suspension or Subsidy removal? These hounders are not reformers. They just to be one. |
So they mean Dangote is a launderer? Probably money meant to speed up the completion of the refinery Buhari was so eager to commission before completion and Emefiele was reported to have visited more often than the owner, Dangote. |
DeAdvokate:if a kidnapper enters your house and rape your wives before abducing you kids away, call for peace o and dont look for support to take back your things. |
^^Jemoja the marine force you mean? |
This man ruined the system he snatched from GEJ and now he is hiding in his Daura fortress. He should look at how GEJ is going round and being a statesman and compare that to his ancestral demeanor. A destructive chapter in our history, funnily the amala gobbler he handed to has continued where he stopped. |
No production yet on what Buhari commissioned yet Tinubu boldly removed subsidy. We ware now importing from Intl market and paying intl price plus transport cost. |
That's about 10 a day. |
He should face the music if he has done wrong ethically but his policies were perfectly understandable to me. Multiple exchange rate meant partial subsidy removal on the forex. Items like milk and toothpick were within local producers reach and thus yanked off the list of items cheap forex were released for. His naira redesign though mischievous, had lots of positive in stock for us. Kidnapping became hard to execute after it and I wonder how same man will be willful terrorism financier. Seem DSS aren't telling or leaking the full story into the media. |
chatinent:They ought to when time comes but I don't see that happening. The leaders who signed this bill into law schooled for free but paid no one a dime so i don't think the averagely greedy Nigerian will rush to put more lootables in the coffers of govt officials who never repaid a dime. It is largely a paper based initiative. |
Dangote isn't the fraudster. The people who are paid to be neutral in govt and help move us forward are the problem. They forced Dangote into comisioning an incomplete project, now subsidy is gone and Nigerians who they falsely claimed never benefitted from it are obviously suffering it. This is why some wise people suggested incremental removal that's triggered by verifiable palliatives before another removal. They called Anambra and abia elements. To them only Tinubu loyalists are Lagosians or Yoruba for that matter. |
nairalanda1:after using over 10 user accounts to push for a wicked subsidy removal, this is all you could say. Backbencher, subsidywise, Kassandra, and more have been deactivated and now this scam account again. |
The problem is Nigeria wasn't meant to be a prosperous union but an avenue to reach out to minority's resources. Who cares about loan or no loan. |
neutralmind:Just eat well and sleep well abegi...which one be blood pressure again. In the days of our great grand fathers raised to power 100 how were they checking it? |
What about outrageous billing and destruction of cable when disconnecting? Some officials of PHCN do cut customer cable between the poles and metre area instead of disconnecting the cable from the PHCN poles. |
They also paint Dubai red. |
Is "Obidient" an English word? |
Same scenario as crashing a ride you not paid for yet. |
JOemmy:it has been hijacked even before it was conceives as a thought. They have the funds to send their wards Harvard. Maybe as time goes. Influential men of means will seek the loyalty of young admission seekers, promise them to pay off their loans in exchange for loyalty and start avoiding repayment or simply loot the system elsewhere to repay. |
ASUU and anything to maintain corruption are like 5 & 6. Who is the rich and the poor? Except they mean the corrupt elite who have enriched themselves with our commonwealth. |
1. Vocational skills will be embraced more. This is easy to understand as no one will be in a rush to take a long-term loan with no guaranty of repayment means when a surer and shorter way is dangling at their face. Simply learn a trade that sells and start making what will meet the needs of others. 2. Expect more rejection of some programs. Before people apply to some programs more and get offered something else. Expect that to change as your school won't repay the loan for you and so you have to insist on what you believe in a your course of study. 3. Less socially conscious campus life. As a result of the repayment ahead, expect student to put their time to better use than cultism and social engagements. More skill acquisition gatherings and centres will emerge on campus. 4. More Emphasis on international certifications. There will be more emphasy on international certifications to support the certificate issued to graduates by schools because once the student start paying higher than what it cost to get certified by vendors and realize the reach of the intl certificates, they will embrace them naturally. 5. Less populated lecture halls and emphasis on buying of materials. This one is easier to imagine. Overcrowded halls means someone isn't putting the huge fees of students to efficient use. 6. More time for research. As lecturers mark fewer scripts and appraise fewer students, research will get more attention from schools as that's a sure way to improve school reputation and justify the huge loans and fees. 7. Higher conversion of academic papers into real life uses. Why go through the stress of first degree, second degree and research before I realize I can take research papers, read them and apply them for better business result? 8. Better grades and breaking of first class jinx. As students pay more and face the huge burden of repayment, expect them to question the wisdom behind trying to interpret failure as a sign of high standard and not success in form of high rate of knowledge transfer. No professor of Agriculture feeds on yam diagram, they all prefer pounded yam to yam diagram though they make you draw it. 9. Less discrimination against private school graduates. As everyone becomes conscious of the millions(of Naira) they have been enjoying for free and the sudden burden of repayment upon them, the discrimination against private school graduates will naturally disappear. The poorer the learning conditions of your school are, all other things equal, the more shame it means for you. 10. Emergence of smaller institutions offering fewer technical courses of study. The idea of having a certificate will change drastically because what you hope to get from professors in some technical fields in polytechnics and universities will be available for less in sime institutes around. You can add yours. |
I hope above all things the victim isn't an outsider. |
